1. What was the most fun thing about the event?

2. What got you into royai?

3. What was your favorite/most challenging thing to draw?

the most fun thing about the event… hmmm that is a hard question, but I think it is just a HUGE mix of meeting people I look up to and admire their work ( artists and authors ) and getting to know them, PLUS I was able to work with my idols which is a big deal haha. I got to draw many great scenes and now I have a very beautiful community that I wouldn't have if I had taken a chance and signed up in the event 🙂‍↕️🩷🩷 ( I love you big bang group )

2. Okay so, Royai - it all started when my brother was nagging me to read Fma’s manga, but I was just wasn't pulled ( anime wasn't a thing that I liked ), so as a bonding activity, My brother and I started to watch brotherhood. RIGHT at their ( Royai’s ) first appearance I looked at my brother:

“ tell me they are married.”

“ no they aren't,”

“ dating?”

” 🤷🏻‍♂️”

After the Nina episode, I was just disgusted and didn't want to finish the anime, but he promised me that they would kiss at the end. So yeah haha throughout the whole thing, I just kept shipping them hard and my love grew over each episode 🩷

3. Favorite thing to draw? Honestly, the joy I had of just drawing these two over and over is one of my favorite things haha I loved coloring Riza’s hair and doing Roy’s eyes. Each piece had its favorite parts and difficulties The most challenging parts- I would just give a few hints.

Hands, lighting on some arts, RIZA’S LIPS. And a hug between two females ( I won't spoil. ) and just after taking so many projects, drawing became a challenge, I just literally handed the last project’s arts last Thursday 😭

This event has been a blessing, I can't even thank @royaibigbang for organizing this 💋

Ok so hear me out folks.....

I’ve been hearing word on the street that “Hey, Encanto is dead” or “Encanto is soooooooo last year” or “Well, I think the Encanto craze is all over because there’s no news of a sequel or series”.

But you know what? So many more achievements have been unlocked by the Madrigal family in the past few weeks. Here are some of them:

- Encanto bagged three Grammy awards including Best Compilation for Visual Media, Best Film Score and Best Song for Visual Media (for Bruno)

- Nielsen revealed that Encanto was among the most played streaming movie or TV show in the United States for all of 2022

- A whole new sequence for “Dos Orugitas” was added at Disneyland’s new nighttime spectacular “Wonderous Journeys” as part of their celebration of Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder

- The Encanto community just concluded its first ever “Big Bang” uniting artists and fanfic writers in more amazing original stories based on the Madrigals

- Gameloft confirmed that Mirabel is coming to Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, the Disneyfied version of Animal Crossing or the Sims (I hear it is such a cool life sim game), and the Encanto realm will be unlocked by all users on February 16th, meaning those who have Dreamlight Valley can now experience Encanto!

And all of these events happened in a span of a few weeks????? It is such a big deal for Encanto fans and brainrotters but there is a part of me that feels very boggled over the speed of these events exactly a year since Encanto had exploded.......

If these can be indicators for something, then I have to safely say that ENCANTO IS NOT DEAD! The magic and beauty of Encanto will continue to touch and inspire us to radiate love and express our own special gifts. We will continue to make and tell stories about the wonderful Madrigals even if a sequel or Disney+ series are still miles and miles away. Everywhere I look, I see Encanto. Fanarts and OCs populate my Instagram. I see even more Encanto fanmade stuff on Tumblr. And my Twitter has also been bombarded by Encanto headcanons and whatnot........

These are signs that Encanto will never fade out into black, we fans will be there to make the universe better and better! After all, it’s Disney’s biggest hit of the 21st century for one simple reason: We don’t just watch Encanto, we FEEL IT.

Remember that background I posted as a teaser for the 2021 fratt bang? In April of 2021? WELL HERES THE FULL PIECE.

The background to this AU where The Defenders aren’t superheroes is that they all know each other because they were in a terrible band together while in college in the 90s. They were Not Good, but that’s okay because the band was mostly an excuse to hang out and drink together. They played exactly one (1) show at Josie’s, and none of them discussed what they would be wearing ahead of time, beyond generally agreeing to really go all out. Danny was baked and didn’t get the memo, Foggy styled Matt but Matt got cold and put on one of those amazing colorblock wind breakers, and both Jess and Luke are kinda stuck in the 80s.

They were banned from playing in her bar again, but Josie keeps photographic evidence on the wall.

This will eventually be present in @sevdrag’s Fratt fic, He Thinks Like a King, too.

Here it is without all the “it was the 90s so I took film to get developed at the pharmacy so I could look at the picture” effects.

Summary:

Draco was fiddling with Sirius’s makeshift battery which had gone on the fritz and was trying to figure out a spell to repair it, lest the rest of the group revolt for lack of a good distraction. He nodded as an ethereal female voice started singing about crystal visions and Harry came to flop down in his chair opposite. 

“Love it? She could have written it,” said Draco, tugging at a wire that had popped loose.

“Has she always been that way? You know, a bit loopy?”

“To be honest, I don’t know,” said Draco, looking up at Harry, who was perched cross legged in a patchy crimson armchair, the wall behind him covered in pictures of motorcycles. “I never spent time with her before this year. Most people take one look at her and write her off, but they’re wrong.”

Draco pulled sharply on the wire and the other end popped loose as well, sending a shower of sparks to the floor which he stamped out. 

“Here let me try, '' said Harry, holding out his hand to accept the offending battery. “Do you still think she’s a nutter then?” 

“Luna? Certainly not,” said Draco, crossing one leg and leaning on the arm of his chair to watch Harry fiddle with the infernal mess. “She’s bloody brilliant. I wish I had known sooner or I would have put her to work for me. With the right training she could be striking fear into the hearts of anyone who believes in the Sight.”

Harry laughed as he twisted the ends of two wires together. “Leave it to you to find a way to weaponize Luna’s personality.” 

“Don’t get me wrong, I love the girl. But her predictions are absolute bogus,” said Draco. 

“You hope at any rate.” Harry glanced up pushing his glasses into place. “Come on, show me a Luna memory then.”

Draco tilted his head, thinking of a good one. Deciding on the time Luna wore a life-size eagle headdress to a Ravenclaw Quidditch match, he locked eyes with Harry, and they dove into the memory together. 

He could feel Harry’s presence laughing as the Eagle started pecking at the students in the row behind Luna, trying to get at the snacks they held, so he showed him another one. Luna in the Herbology greenhouse reorganising plants so they could all meet each other. Luna following a cluster of caroling ghosts through the halls at Christmastime and singing along. 

Before he knew it, he was showing Harry the time he tried to set Luna up with the Slytherin Quidditch team. Harry was asleep on the couch, under the power of the diadem, as Draco and Luna chatted about the mimbletonia and Neville Longbottom and Luna’s philosophy on love.

It wasn’t until the conversation started veering towards Draco’s stake in the matter that he remembered with a shock how it ended. He tried to close it off, but Harry had felt his surprise and was now interested to see what would unfold. 

“And does it really take that long to teach someone Occlumency? I mean really, what do you two spend all that time doing?” said Luna, her arms crossed in a very Hermione-like stance.

Draco cringed, knowing what was coming next. In his memory, his mind was full to bursting with thoughts of Harry as he blurted out, “It doesn’t matter, anyway! It would never work between us. He has no blood status to speak of. He hardly even has a family, not to mention the fact that he’s wanted by the law AND is an insufferably noble git on top of it all. Forget about what I want, my parents would never— ”

Harry stumbled back from the memory as the battery fell to the floor with a thunk. He was on his feet, pacing towards the door, his hands laced through his hair. 

“Harry, let me explain,” said Draco, jumping to his feet. 

But as Harry whirled around to face him it wasn’t anger in his face, it was disbelief. 

“What you want…?” he said. 

Draco didn’t know what to say. His heart was pounding. If it was possible, he wanted him more today than he had even wanted him then. 

Without another word, Harry closed the space between them. Before he knew it, his hands were on Draco’s neck, drawing him into a kiss. 

Draco’s own hands immediately found their way to the small of Harry’s back, then his hips, as he pulled him closer. Insistent lips pressed against his, soft but strong. The kiss with Theo so drastically paled with the real thing he almost laughed. 

Draco slipped his fingers under the hem of Harry’s jumper, letting them trail up the smooth expanse of warm skin. Harry made a noise of appreciation, which nearly made Draco lose his footing. He tried to take a step to steady himself, but at the same time, Harry pressed into his touch, and he stumbled backwards, his knees making contact with the edge of the bed. 

As they toppled over backwards onto the crimson bedspread, finding himself looking up at the pictures of women in bikinis on the ceiling and with Harry Potter, the saviour of the wizarding world kneeling over him, he really did have to laugh. 

“What’s so funny?” asked Harry, propping himself up on his arms to pull back from the kiss, his face still inches from Draco’s own, smiling broadly. 

“Just how much of a fucking idiot I am for not doing this sooner,” said Draco, running a hand across Harry’s jawline and threading it through his dark tangle of hair, drawing him back in. 

“You and me both,” said Harry. Draco could feel the warm breath of his laugh across his lips as he pulled Harry down on top of him. 

Cedric and Hermione would still be out on their run for another hour. There was plenty of time.

Din looked down on the tattoo, watching for just a second how the needle pierced his skin but feeling nauseous immediately, his breathing quickening in accord with his heartbeat. “Easy there, darlin’,” Cobb said gently, removing the gun, squeezing his thigh again. “You’re doin’ so good, it’s gonna look amazing, I’m so proud of you. You’re so brave.” Fuck, this will be the end of me, Din thought. OR Five times Din was scared of needles and one time Cobb kept his mind busy with something else. And a whole lot of feelings, self-discovery, and liberation along the way.

The last of my art for the Crowley BigBang 2023 : Crowley Against Humanity event. This one is a colab with the lovely author Moony (SilasBaran on AO3) who really pulled out all the stops writing her fabulous fic, so I tried to do the same with the art to match.

What seemed like a normal coincidence rapidly escalates into a hunt involving demons, angels and a mysterious carnival, during which both men have to face one final question: Do they want to stay human or get their powers and memories back?

He rewinds the tape of the previous night and watches it happen: soft hands unlock the apartment door; soft hands pull him inside, past the doorway, towards the couch; soft hands nudge well-worn jean off his shoulders until it drops onto the back of the couch. Connor lives out of that jacket, and he forgot to grab it on his way out.

“Fuck.”
