TADOBA-A HORDE OF NATIONAL PARK
Tadoba is well known for its Andhari Tiger Reserve nestled in the Chandrapur district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the largest and oldest national park of Maharashtra. It was founded in 1995 and included the Tadoba National Park and the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. The reserve consists of protected and reserved forests. The place Tadoba name signifies the title of the God "Taru" or "Tadoba," worshipped by the tribes living in the dense forests of the Tadoba and Andhari areas, while "Andhari" points to the Andhari River that strolls through the woods. Small Info About TIPESHWAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary in Yavatmal district is a secluded national park in Maharashtra. The tipeshwar forest allows you to explore large varieties of wildlife species! This sanctuary is located in Pandarkawada region of Yavatmal district that covers an area of 148.63 sq.km. Particularly, the sanctuary lies amidst the Patanbori and Parwa Ranges of the Pandarkawad Forest Division. This sanctuary is popular known for its hilly-undulating terrain and wildlife diversity. The Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary derives its name from the ‘Goddess Tipai’ situated near the Tipeshwar village in the sanctuary region. This sanctuary is not known to many people hence less number of people visit Tipeshwar national park. Various villages are situated amidst the sanctuary region and local people depend on the forest for their daily activities. As sanctuary is situated in a very remote region of Maharashtra, it has a rich wildlife and bio-diversity. Rivers like Krishna, Purna, Bhima and Tapti irrigates the sanctuary from all sides. Due to abundant water from all these rivers, it is also called as Green Oasis (watering place) of the Southern Maharashtra. The temperature of the region mostly remains pleasant all year round. The tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary area is actually a basalt area formed by the explosion of lava a century back. This region is highly appreciated for the variety of flora like herbs, grasses, bamboo forests and animal life. This sanctuary is surrounded by many popular wildlife reserves like Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhamragarh Wildlife Reserve, Nagzira National Forest, Navegaon National Park, Bor Wildlife Sanctuary, Pench National Park and Painganga National Park.
