Day Trip
Larissa Weems x fem reader
Summary: Larissa and outcast fem or nonbinary reader spend the day with their daughter - Requested by annabell39 on AO3
Warnings: None just pure fluff
Requests open
———————————
It was 5:30 in the morning and you were wide awake. You turned over on your side to see your beautiful wife fast asleep with a small smile plastered on her face. You knew you would both be up soon so decided to get up quickly and make yourself a drink.
You slowly wriggled yourself out of the super king sized bed trying your best not to wake Larissa. You made your way to the kitchen to make you and Larissa coffee in your favourite mugs. Your mug had a little cat wearing an eye mask that says ‘Mom needs peace and quiet’ and Larissa’s mug had a picture of the three of you the day your daughter was born.
When the coffees were done you grabbed both mugs and went back up to your room. Larissa was still fast asleep. It was common on work days that she would be up before you but on her days off she made sure to enjoy her lie-in. You placed your drinks on the bed side table before getting back into bed wrapping your arms around Larissa’s warm body.
You felt her shift slightly which meant you knew she would be awake shortly. You decided you couldn’t wait much longer so started to leave little kisses along her shoulder and up her neck. You watched as your wife turned on her side to face you, slowly opening her eyes.
“Morning beautiful” she whispered with her raspy morning voice. “Morning my sweet angel, how are you this morning?” you asked her. “I’m good now I’m awake in your arms” she chuckled. You both cuddled up with one another enjoying one another’s company as you watched the sunrise from your bedroom window. You knew now that it wouldn’t be long until you were up anyway.
As if on cue your daughter Theodora came running into your bedroom trying to jump onto your bed. “Momma up” she said to you as she tried to climb up. You wiggled out of Larissa’s hold on you before bending down to pick up the two and a half year old. Your daughter was perfect and looked just like Larissa. She is literally a mini version of her when it comes to looks but she has definitely inherited your cheekiness.
You pulled your daughter onto the bed before placing her in between both yours and Larissa’s bodies. “Do you want to watch Bluey Theo?” you asked your little girl. “Yes momma” she said with her cheerful little voice. You let Theodora cuddle up with Larissa as you found Bluey, putting it on the tv for you all to watch.
You let Theo get engrossed in the tv while both you and Larissa drank your coffees. She ended up watching two episodes before you all went downstairs to start your day. “Mommy I’m hungry” she whined to Larissa. “Well what would you like to eat then peanut?” Larissa asked as she picked her up and held her in her arms.
“Hoops and stawberries” she cheered. Theodora called cheerios hoops because obviously they look like hoops. Makes sense. Larissa placed Theodora in her high chair while she got started on breakfast for the two year old while you started breakfast for you and Larissa.
Larissa plated up a handful of dried cheerios, some fresh cut strawberries and a slice of toast cut into fingers with a small amount of butter on it to then give to Theodora. While she was doing that you were making smashed avocado on sourdough toast. It was yours and Larissa’s favourite as not only was it filling but it also felt like you were being healthy. By the time you had finished making breakfast for you and Larissa Theo had already eaten her breakfast and requested more.
Larissa made her another slice of toast and cut up a banana this time so she could snack on that while you could both eat your food. “So what is the plan for today then?” you asked before taking a mouthful of your toast. “Well I was thinking we could go to Bewilderwood. It’s a magical treehouse adventure park in the middle of the woods. I think Theo would really enjoy it” she smiled at you as she continued eating her breakfast.
“That sounds like a wonderful idea. Let me have a look at prices and how long it will take to get there” you smiled as you got your phone out to have a look while Larissa started to entertain Theodora. “Ok so it’s going to take us about 2 hours to get there roughly but that’s including pit stops. As for the prices, Theo can get in for free and it’s $26.54 each for us so just over $53.00 for the both of us” you smiled at Larissa as you finished the last of your breakfast.
“Well that sounds like a wonderful idea. Well shall I start making a picnic for us while you girls get ready” she smiled as she stood up grabbing all the empty plates to take to be washed up. You grabbed Theo out of her high chair before setting her on the floor so she could go and play with her toys.
You followed Larissa into the kitchen wrapping your arms around her waist while she was standing at the sink washing up. “I think that sounds like a wonderful idea. At least it will give you a few minutes to yourself” you smiled as you spoke into her neck giving her a small peck. “I can’t wait to spend the day with my two special girls” she smiled as she spun herself around so she was facing you.
You leaned up and gave her a small yet passionate kiss. “Ewww” you heard Theo say which made you both turn to face her and start laughing. “Ew? I’m coming to get you now missy to give you loads of kisses” you said stepping out of Larissa’s grip before chasing your daughter around the living room as Larissa just stood and watched. “Get back here” you laughed as you finally managed to trap her before wrapping your arms around her small little body.
“Come on sweet pea lets go and get ready” you said to Theo as you walked upstairs to her bedroom so she could choose her outfit for the day. She ended up choosing a white long sleeve top with a butterfly in the middle as well as her blue jean overalls. She looked adorable. You paired it with a white jumper but you knew that wouldn’t stay white for long where you were going.
Once Theo and yourself were dressed and ready, you took Theo back downstairs so Larissa could get herself ready. “Ok so the food is packed can you just get anything else you think we might need for when we are out” Larissa said giving you a small kiss before heading upstairs to get ready.
You let Theodora do her thing while you filled a rucksack with the essentials. When that was packed you grabbed another small bag and filled it with some entertainment for the car ride. You didn’t expect a two year old to sit in a car for that long without being bored but you were hoping that she might have a little nap on the way there.
After about half an hour Larissa finally came back down. You just stared at her. “What’s the matter?” she asked. “You’re beautiful baby, I don’t know how lucky I was to have such a beautiful wife as well as such a beautiful daughter” you said as you felt Theo grab your leg.
“Aww y/n that's so sweet. I love you so much” she said, pulling you close to her. “I love you too” you whispered as your lips grazed one anothers before finally letting them softly collide. “I suppose we should get going if we want to actually make a day trip of this” you laughed, picking Theodora up so you could put her shoes on and get her in the car.
While you were doing that Larissa grabbed all the bags you had sorted and placed them in the boot of the car. “Is the buggy in the back?” you asked Larissa once you had finished strapping Theo into her car seat. “Yes, don't worry I made sure it was in the car. I will give you Theo’s bag in case she wants anything” she said as she passed the bag over the seat.
You grabbed the bag and put it in the front before hopping into the driver's side of the car to start the journey there. “Are you ready to go?” Larissa asked as she hopped into the passenger seat. “Yep let's get this party started” you laughed while starting the engine. The journey there was relatively easy. Theodora only needed entertaining for the first half an hour before finally falling asleep.
The rest of the journey was spent just chatting with Larissa while she enjoyed the beautiful countryside scenery. When you finally arrived Theodora was still asleep so you carefully got her out of the car and put her in the buggy and thankfully she stayed asleep. That made yours and Larissa’s next job ten times easier.
You both grabbed a handful of bags that you knew you would need, most fitting under the buggy before then locking the car and heading into the park. This was the amazing thing about going to a place like this, you could just explore the woodlands while Theo is asleep. You paid for both you and Larissa to get in before heading in to look around the place. It was like something out of a fairytale with loads of little woodland parks for the children to play on that ranged in sizes.
You and Larissa were happy just chilling walking hand in hand waiting for the little one to wake from her slumber. After about 20 minutes of walking around you finally heard Theo starting to stir in her buggy. “Hey sleepy head” you said softly to the little one as you picked her up from the buggy. However the only person she wanted was Larissa. So you handed her over while you took control of the buggy.
“Why don’t we go to tiptoe valley?” you suggested as you opened the map to find your way there. As the three of you were walking Theo finally started to wake up and realised where she was. She was mesmerised by the place and was pointing out every little thing she could see. Eventually she wanted to walk and she was running around looking at everything.
You knew this was something she was going to remember and you were enjoying every minute of it. When you finally arrived at tiptoe valley you let Theodora run wild in there. You parked up the buggy and joined Larissa in supervising the two year old.
“How did we get so lucky with such a smart, beautiful and perfect child?” Larissa asked while holding your hand and resting her head on your shoulder. “Because we made her that’s why. She definitely has all the beauty from you Rissa, she is literally a mini version of you” you chuckled giving her hand a soft squeeze.
You knew Rissa had her insecurities and her body was one of them. She was always worried during the pregnancy if the baby would inherit her traits which she thought were bad. Little did she know that our baby girl would be a spitting image of her and she is the most beautiful being in the universe.
“My two most favourite, beautiful beings in the whole universe” you said looking at Larissa and then back to Theo. You let Theodora continue to run rampage through the different parks becoming braver with each one she came across. However it was getting close to lunch time and you all could feel it.
“Mommy I’m hungry” Theo whined as she ran up to Larissa. “Ok peanut. Let's go find somewhere so we can have something to eat” Larissa said, grabbing the little one's hand and leading her to a number of benches where we could eat. Theo had already decided where she wanted to sit so ran straight over to the empty bench.
You and Larissa followed behind her before joining her at the table. Larissa started grabbing an array of food from out the bag and it all looked so yummy. Theodora had a tortilla pizza which was basically a wrap that she put pizza sauce and cheese on before cooking it to make a healthier pizza. You and Larissa both had chicken ceasar wraps which were your favourite.
To go with that Theo had some tomato and basil melty sticks while you and Larissa were sharing a bag of sea salt and chardonnay vinegar crisps. Theo also had some fruit, some mini cocktail sausages, a babybel and a small pot of yoghurt. You and Larissa also had the same just on a larger scale.
You all were just happy and content eating your lunch, every so often having to get Theodora to come back to the table because she was so desperate to go and play but you both knew if she didn’t eat now she would be hungry later. So after convincing the two year old to finish eating you all finally went back to playing around the parks.
It was such a fun filled day and you loved watching Larissa and Theo chase each other around the play equipment before both deciding to gang up on you. The park shut at 17:00 but you and Larissa knew that you would need to stop somewhere for dinner and it was getting very close to that sort of time. Theo definitely had your mood when she was hungry and it wasn’t pleasant.
So you all left the park at 16:45 so you could make your way home and get something to eat on the way. Thankfully there was a McDonalds just 10 minutes from Bewilderwood. You got Theodora a 4 piece chicken nugget happy meal with a book. You would rather read to her than get her a toy that would most likely end up in the bin anyway. You ordered yourself a Big Mac meal and Larissa wanted the McCrispy meal. You had the meal delivered to your car and then drove to park in one of the free parking spaces.
The car was silent as you all ate with the quiet volume of the radio playing in the background. You knew Theodora had finished her dinner because she started blabbering away to herself as she was trying to read her book. I think she was just happy looking at the pictures. Once you and Larissa had finished you started the car back up and started the journey home.
Theo once again fell asleep which you were more than grateful for because it meant she should stay asleep now until tomorrow. You were hoping to chat with Larissa but she had also fallen asleep. So you just enjoyed the company of yourself while listening to the songs on the radio.
When you finally arrived home Larissa had woken so she got Theo out of the car while you grabbed everything you needed from out the car. You unpacked it all and cleaned out the pots you had taken to hold the food in. When you had finally done all that you went up to find Larissa who was in the middle of tucking the little one into bed.
“Night peanut” you heard her whisper as she gave her a kiss on the forehead. You quickly went in and said goodnight to Theodora too before following Larissa into your bedroom. You both got changed and decided tonight that you would just watch a film and go to bed. It had been a long day but you were happy to be making precious memories with your family.
“Night darling” Larissa whispered as she wrapped her arms around your body. “Night babe, I love you” you whispered as you cuddled up into her embrace. “I love you too” you heard her say before letting the sleep overtake you.

Review: BeWILDerwood Cheshire
Last week we were kindly invited to spend the day at BeWILDerwood Cheshire. I’d only heard good things about BeWILDerwood Cheshire and the original founding site in Norfolk, so I went with high expectations and had everything crossed that I wouldn’t be dissapointed as I was (not so secretly) looking forward to joining in and having fun alongside my boys. We had an absolutely amazing day out-…

Hello!
Hey teachers!
I thought I’d begin by introducing myself, giving you some facts about me and my journey into teaching.
Please feel free to say hi, pass on any advice or give any recommendations! All will be gratefully received!
Tumblr media
I will begin studying for my primary PGCE - KS1 and KS2 route, in my home county of Norfolk, commencing in September 2021 and I’ve created this account to help me prepare, seek advice, get ideas and save book recommendations
I am turning 27 next month and my journey into teaching has been a long one. Experience in roles working with children include being the storyteller at Bewilderwood theme park as my first ever job (I still say that was the best job ever ), working as a volunteer in orphanages and schools during my travels around Africa and Asia, being a Learn Play Grow activities leader, an arts facilitator and ten years as a qualified gymnastics coach
In 2015 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts First Class Honours in Photographic Studies and in 2018 I graduated with a Master of Arts in Fine Arts with Curation Studies. I’m also a Level 5 Qualified TEFL teacher
My interests are most prominently within the subjects of Arts and Humanities (I am a MASSIVE history nerd). I’m also a HUGE book worm so am passionate about reading for pleasure and lastly PE! I trained within  competitive gymnastics until I was 18, medalling nationally and understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle and getting kids moving!
I currently work in Further Education as an academic assistant to SEN students at a number of universities.
I’ve so far travelled to 27 different countries and hope to make it to 30 before I’m 30!
I’m interested in researching the importance of expressive arts and all things creative!
Lastly I’m an advocate for the underdog and providing the best education for all. Growing up I was classified as from an ‘underprivileged’ background and that never once stopped me achieving my goals; and I have many teachers, coaches and other adults (including my parents) to thank for that.
Tumblr media
Looking forward to sharing my journey to becoming a qualified primary teacher with you!
Thanks for reading,
Miss J

Do you think England could ever get a Moominvalley park?? :o
I think I’ve mentioned it before, though in that post I was just wondering if the employees would have to know Finnish & Swedish lmao.
Uhhh honestly? It’s a possibility, with the Moomins being popular here since the comics and the new series being a British-Finnish production, and I’m sure they’ve considered it. Though if they’ve considered it recently I’m sure a big issue (pushing aside all the usual ones like finding & buying the land for it etc.) is Brexit; since Moomin Characters and Muumimaailma are Finnish companies, I’d assume Britain being in the EU or not would make a difference? And so with that being uncertain they’d be focusing on other European countries first? Maybe?
Ok I’m crossing all that out cause idk wtf I’m saying xD Basically I think it’s possible, but only years in the future. It’d be nice to have a Moomin theme park in the UK, or at least one closer to us, like in France or something. There’s just a lot of factors it depends on...
I guess a Moomin park would be similar to Centre Parcs or BeWILDerwood or Crocky Trail, keeping a lot of the nature intact.

Top Tips for BeWILDerwood Cheshire
ad| Top Tips for BeWILDerwood Cheshire @BeWILDerwoodCHR #Cheshire #BeWILDerwood #familydaysout
Yesterday we visited BeWILDerwood Cheshire for the first time. I’ve wanted to take the girls to the Norfolk one for ages but it’s so far away from us in the North West so I was delighted when they decided to open one in Whitchurch, Cheshire. We had a lovely time yesterday but we had received some tips from guests who had been before and so I’m going to pass those onto you, with a few extra ones…

The BeWILDerwood series, by Tom Blofield
Children’s fiction is one of my guilty pleasures. The way that complex and adult themes can be explained in a simpler way so that children can understand them is fascinating to me, especially when the ideas can be expressed in a non-condescending way. I also love when a world can be created in an interesting way without being made overly simple. This is why I enjoyed Blofield’s BeWILDerwood series as much as I did.
There is an adventure park in Norfolk based on Blofield’s novels, and it’s easy to see why after reading them. There’s something quite easy to slip into in his writing, and the characters were absolutely delightful. Whilst the characters didn’t really grow that much between the novels, they also didn’t regress or repeat any of their earlier actions. Certain characteristics and quotes were repeated in a way that made the characters seem familiar and almost as though they were real people or, at the very least, characters that you have grown up with since you yourself were a child. I enjoyed this aspect, as a lot of the children’s books that I have read for this target audience have been too simplistic and haven’t carried out this sort of idea as well as the BeWILDerwood series has.
I enjoyed the fact that the different adventures were not repeated, nor overly similar, as the series progressed. Blofield could easily have created the same adventures over and over again so as to get people coming back for more, in the way that some children’s adventure stories seem to (with the Rainbow Magic series being the most obvious example in my mind of this), Blofield created new stories and new journeys for his characters to go on. Indeed, he often creates new characters and new settings in order to keep his stories entertaining and to avoid repeating what has already happened. I particularly enjoyed this feature of his writing in that it felt as though Blofield was excited about his ideas and his characters, and just wanted to share all of his ideas with his readers.
There were many positive messages throughout the series that I appreciated, especially as they are intended to be shared with young children. As someone that was picked on for their weight when they were younger, I appreciated the comments made by some of the Boggles about their weight and how they are the perfect weight for who they are. The message wasn’t pushy, it wasn’t shoved in people’s faces, it was put very easily and naturally as an organic part of the conversation. I thought the way in which the messages and the morals were expressed within the conversations were wonderful in that I think the readers of the books would find it comfortable to read these messages and to learn from what Blofield is expressing and would then feel better about themselves. When these messages are explained in an organic way, I think it is a sign of a children’s book that will be popular for a long time to come.
If anyone is looking for a book series for their kids or younger relatives, I cannot recommend this series enough. There’s something quite magical about the characters and the adventures they go on, and I really enjoyed them reading them for myself.
 5 stars.

Life may feel hard right now. Things in the news, your family circumstances, troubles with friends, or health concerns, whatever. But we never know what’s around the corner. So we have to make the most of what is now! What we have, where we are. Yes dream of amazing future adventures, plan for them. But make the most of life as it is! Take life and squeeze out as much goodness as you possibly can. If my past trials have taught me anything it’s to bloody grab life by the ass and make the most of it as you can. 📸- from a 2018 adventure to Norfolk & @bewilderwood_norfolk #livenow #livelifetothefullest #momentsofmine #adventruenow #familymoments #myfamily #grablifebytheballs #grablufebytheass #twin #twinmum #twinsofinstagram (at Bewilderwood Norfolk) https://www.instagram.com/p/CaSabHtMYoQ/?utm_medium=tumblr
