                    double, double toil and trouble; fire burn, and cauldron bubble

jack o’lanterns light up the city streets, shops are decorated with their annual scarecrows and mums, and the air tastes crisp as halloween spreads across washington, dc. costumes are spotted as the city residents dress to their latest fashion, awaiting for a night of either tricks or treats. children run from house to house, filling their sacks with cavity-induced sweets, and those that are older, wait in-line outside of clubs for the haunting drop of the bass or the holiday-themed concoctions. but as the sun falls and the moon rises, a howl could be heard, but whether it’s a soundtrack playing or a creature looming in the distance is unknown, but as the clouds roll in, with the low chance of rain, there’s a distant rumbling of thunder before lightning strikes the white house: once, twice, three times, and everything goes quiet.

a strong gust of wind blows through the city, snuffing out all the jack o’lanterns as the wind sweeps through the city. an eeriness takes hold as the magic of washington takes it’s toll; the costumes seemingly start to cling to the resident’s skin, morphing them into something else, something different. those dressed as black cats find themselves with ears and tails, wanting nothing more to lure curious minds under ladders in hopes of bringing bad luck. the hopes of getting the most tricks or the most treats dies, as something new arises.

citizens transform within a moments take, some possibly catching on too quickly remove their tiara or cape before the magic gets to them too, but in the end, it’s creatures flooding the streets. werewolves howl, vampires thirst, and witches cackle through all corners of the streets. a holiday meant for sweets, has suddenly turn to tricks, and sometimes adapting might be a little bit challenging, especially those dressed as vampires, suddenly transformed with a new thirst for blood. the thrill of halloween night has now turned to terror as minds shift from running in search of treats, now running in search of safety.

tldr ; the magic of washington has struck again, but this time with lighting on halloween and effecting those who have dressed up for the spooky holiday! for those who are dressed up, they have quickly transformed into whatever they are, from vampire, witch, werewolf, even a character or villain from a show, etc. those who didn’t dress are up free from this curse, but citizens beware! it’s not just treats being given out, but tricks as the residents start to adapt to what they’ve dressed up as! how will you fare on this all hallowed eve?

attention guys, gals, nb pals and any ghouls lurking, it’s time to get your spooky on with our latest event! the admin team is beyond thrilled about this one, especially in the spirit of halloween! below you can find more information pertaining to the event below, and feel free to get creative with these costumes! we cannot wait to see how you all handle this event, especially with the drama that will come from all of these new adjustments!

the event will last 7 days in and out of character

costumes and the magic ;

as stated above, your characters are going to be turning into the characters/creatures that they will be donning costumes of!! now, this can be really anything, but use your best judgement here!! people who are dressed as cats or an animal, will gain those qualities but not turn into a full cat! if you have them dressed as a real life person, they will not take on that persona, so no “dressing as an actor” sort of deal, to avoid that whole thing. if you are having them dress as a character, remember that someone else might be playing them, and they would not just become that character but yours with their abilities or thoughts. so for example, if you had your character dress up as leia organa, they would not become her, but just similarities, memories, or ideas like her! that way no one is actually playing anyone else’s character!

there is no limit to how many of one costume we will allow, you are free to have your characters dress up as whoever you want, but if there are already 13 vampires, perhaps mix it up! just use your judgement fam, that way we don’t have to limit your creativity!

in order to keep track of what every character is going as please submit your character’s costume here! you can find the masterlist of what everyone is going as here! you will have to submit the form once for each character so that things stay organized but it is super short and shouldn’t take you long at all as soon as you know what your costume is! in order to keep everything safe the masterlist is not editable so if you’ve already submitted your character’s costume and would like to change it please just submit the form again and we will delete your previous entry!

remember that this is only temporary!! your character will not be a vampire forever!! when the clock strikes midnight on halloween night, the costumes will turn back into their plastic masks and party store dresses and we will all be left with the memories of what happened on this fateful night! 

also keep in mind, you are free to have your character not dress up and be a spectator, and try to survive the night with their wits in tact!

most of all, have fun with this, get creative, see what kind of horrors and the like that your babes can get into with this magic flowing through the town!!

please feel free to begin plotting with everyone and anyone!! we want this to be all inclusive, as you never know who is going to be roaming the streets this halloween!!

also, please know you are completely free to begin plotting your costumes, or even posting what they will be if you’d like to post outfits!!

once the event begins, please hold any and all non event threads. you may pick them up once it’s over, or start fresh with reuniting with people, returning to your character’s normal state of mind, adjusting to the lack of or the influx of memories, etc.

in terms of plotting, keep in mind that this is a big holiday, the town is decked out for it!! so, if you want to have your characters start talking about halloween plans, go for it!! just know that they will not know of this magic swell until the event truly begins!

as always, if you are planning to have your character killed during the event, please message us admins as we have to keep track for the sake of their memory status! remember that your character dying will alter their memories, so plan accordingly!

and of course, just use good judgement and be sure not to god mod, this is a very powerful event so just be sure to talk with your partners before doing anything too spooky!
