something weird and spicy (no, not in that way) for this i guess >:3

i think i said this before on one of my moots' blog, but i kinda like fics where sans undertale is the antagonist - not a villain but an antagonistic force. maybe it's my bias towards frisk and chara showing, but sans is such an asshole in the game i was hating him for a while back then lol. man, when i finally defeated him in middle school i was so happy. sans is so morally dubious, but so are most characters in the game (especially undyne and asgore) and it's so interesting. his apathy is fascinating, because the way it translates in the game is that he's a major character that you are unable to befriend, and isn't that fun? it's like he's actively avoiding the player/frisk/the human, and hmmm it's so delicious when there are fics exploring that strange aversion that sans has towards the human - it makes for such good drama.

“now, i was under the impression that last year you thought halloween was, and this is a direct quote, cringe.”

“last year it was cringe. this year i want to dress up and get free candy,” chris says.

“any particular reason why?”

“because it’s more fun with you and buck than it would have been in el paso. don’t be weird about it.”

“you hear that buck?” eddie calls into the kitchen, where buck is making dinner for eddie and chris. “we’re more fun than my parents.”

“i would really hope so.”

“nevermind. i changed my mind. you’re both annoying.” chris rolls his eyes.

“oh no. you’re not getting out of it now, kid.”

last year on halloween eddie’s life had been rapidly spinning more out of control every day. this year his son is back home, buck is his boyfriend (which is a whole insane story in and of itself) and eddie feels settled. it’s a strange feeling. he’s not sure he’s ever really felt settled in his entire life.

there’s a flight or fight instinct inside telling him not to get used to it. he’s trying to ignore that.
