You’re not sure if you’ve ever been so content as you are right now.
You’ve always loved summer holidays, but never more than since you started dating Ben. He’s so busy throughout the year that you often get very little time together, so when the season ends, you’re more than ready for some uninterrupted relaxation with your boyfriend.
You know it’s bittersweet this year, as you were both hoping that Ben would make the Euros squad after a somewhat disappointing season and more injuries. You truly believe he deserved to be there, but you’ve decided there’s no point in dwelling on what could’ve been. So despite the letdown of Ben missing out on another major tournament, you’ve both made the most of your holiday so far.
After he went to the F1 in Monaco with the boys, you met up with him and a few of his mates in the Caribbean for the week. You’re all staying at a gorgeous private villa that took your breath away when you first saw it. It’s now your last night here before Ben flies to Marrakech for some time with his family and you have to go back to London for work, which you’re absolutely dreading after the most perfect week with him.
You’re currently curled up with Ben on a lounge chair, just the two of you alone on the gorgeous terrace with an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The sun is setting, and you’ve never felt more at peace.
“I don’t wanna leave this place,” you sigh, burying your face in his neck.
After a long day of swimming and snorkelling off the boat provided by the villa, you’re both tired and enjoying the tranquility of this moment. The rest of your group is inside watching the day’s Euros highlights, and you know Ben would’ve done the same and ended up lost in his own bad thoughts if you let him. Instead, you grabbed him by the hand after dinner and dragged him out here, receiving no complaints from him as you laid down almost completely on top of him with your legs intertwined and your arm around his waist.
“I don’t want you to leave,” Ben counters, and you know what argument he’s going to make. “Come with me to Morocco. Alex and my mum would love it if you came.”
“Babe, you know I would if I could,” you tell him sincerely. “But I can’t take any more time off right now. I’m sorry.”
Ben already knows this, so he doesn’t argue you further, though you know he wants to. He just tugs you slightly closer to him and drops a kiss to the crown of your head.
“Promise you’ll call me every day, though? I want to live vicariously through you while I’m back to the boring office life,” you murmur, your cheek pressed to his chest.
What you really mean is that you want to check in on him every day, to make sure he’s not going down the rabbit hole of regret and self-loathing like he has in the past. You hate that you can’t be there with him in person for the entire summer break, but you’ll be damned if you don’t do everything in your power to make sure he’s okay, even from afar.
“I will,” Ben agrees, slipping his hand under the t-shirt of his that you’re wearing and gently rubbing the skin of your lower back. “You don’t have to worry about me, baby.”
You know he can see it in your furrowed brow when someone talks about football and your overly clingy behaviour this week that you’re concerned about him.
“I love you too much to not worry, Ben,” you say, a slight shiver running up your spine as he continues to caress your skin.
“I know,” Ben says with another kiss to your head. “And that’s why I’m the luckiest man alive. But I swear I’m okay. It was a bit tough to take at first, but I can’t really complain when I’m in paradise with my best mates and my girl.”
“I’m glad you’ve had a good holiday, you deserve it,” you smile. “What was your favourite bit?”
“Hmm…convincing Tom we saw a shark while we were swimming today was up there,” he chuckles, making you laugh as remember the sheer look of terror on your friend’s face. “I think he might’ve pissed himself.”
“I think he’s still mad at us,” you laugh. “Worth it, though.”
“But mostly just being here with you,” Ben says softly, running a hand through your hair as you pull back and rest your head on his chest to look at him properly. “I love you so much, Y/N.”
You cup his face with one hand, running your thumb across the beard he’s grown out a bit and staring into his eyes. There’s a stunning view of the sun setting over the shimmering blue sea just to your right, but you think you prefer this one.
“I love you, too.”
Ben smiles before leaning in and kissing you, your lips meeting gently. It’s a slow, drawn-out kiss, neither of you wanting this moment to end.
“We should go inside and pack,” you mutter when you pull away, painfully aware of your early flight tomorrow.
“In a few minutes,” Ben says, wrapping his arms around you completely and pulling you back into his chest. “Let’s enjoy this a little while longer.”
You allow yourself to relax into his embrace, humming in contentment as he continues to stroke your hair.
Your real life and responsibilities may be awaiting you back in London, but for tonight, you’re going to soak up every last second of this serenity with your boyfriend.

Okay but why hasn't obx capitalised on a birthday episode?? Like imagine Kie's bday party or Sarah's and all the pogues are there and Rafe now that him and Sarah are back on good terms. There's so much to do w a bday episode
Hi Anon!
Thank you so much for the question! I feel like this ties into so many things so I am going to break this down a little because I think this is a great question. I have also wondered this and I think it ties into a larger answer.
For this, I want to talk about the show's established dynamic, realism, the writers, and then realistic events (Birthday's, holiday's, etc.).
Outer Banks Established Show Dynamic
So, what we know about the show is that it has a very strict formula that was established by the writers. This happened back in season one and was continued through the entire shows run so far. As of the end of season four we still have yet to see some kind of realistic event that happens in all tv shows.
Based on this, the show really hasn't been set up for these fun/normal events. Which is a mix of poor writing, indecision about the shows purpose, and the writers.
They wanted a show that started out based on friendship to have bigger and bigger adventures. For that, they had to leave parts behind due to the shows limitations. Based on season four, it seems we've left behind the Pogues for convoluted and over complex storylines that really take us away from the shows core. Which is sad.
Realism
Now, I think this is because of a few things. The biggest reason I think it has to do with is that they are trying to separate this world (OBX/Kildare) from real life.
Enter the lack of realism.
It's a show about teenagers findings various treasures all the way to the season three where they found El Dorado and now with season four we're magically in Morocco getting a blue crown that JJ died for. When all of this could've been avoided by keeping things grounded in Kildare. We really were no longer watching Pogues vs Kooks, the whole premise. It because these teens that got some money and wasted it in one afternoon on a singular house then the rest went to a dirt bike race and making a very poor looking Poguelandia 2.0.
In an attempt to escape realism they really have done everything aside from magic itself to avoid keeping the show grounded. Because of this, we really avoid things that bring real life to the show. Which is such a missed opportunity.
The Writers
With that being said, I think because of the way the show is written, we really don't get filler episodes either. Now, I think this is in part of the new dynamic for the industry as a whole sadly. It's no longer the early 2000's where we get 24 episodes a season where we have small summer and winter breaks. I truly miss those days.
Though I do blame the writers for not trying to keep the grounded episodes that focused on the characters. We watch the show for them. Not the big treasure hunts. I think the writers are forgetting their audience here.
Characters are the heart of the show and that seems to have been forgotten. Sadly.
Realistic Events
Lastly, to your question itself. I completely agree. We deserve birthday episodes and holidays! These would be the best episodes. I wish they had done this.
One episode per season that was a filler would've been amazing. While it went against what the writers were trying for (who knows why, it's a boat show, it's not that serious) it should've happened.
Any of the characters could've had a birthday episode. JJ because he had a terrible childhood with Luke, so John B, Kie and Pope always made a day out of it. Like you said, Kie and Sarah. Any of them deserved this. It would've also been such a GREAT way to showcase character growth too. Instead of what we've been getting.
This goes for holidays too! What about Halloween or New Year Eve parties? The Pogues bringing in the New Year. Even seasonal episodes. What about festivals that happen like we saw ONCE in season one where they went to watch a movie in Figure 8.
The writers had such a good story, location, world, classism between the Pogues and Kooks. They never had to leave the island and I will die on that hill.
Overall, I don’t think they have capitalized on this because it doesn’t align with their vision for the show, it’s not as important to have filler episodes because they have a limitation on the number of episodes they get, they sort of have forgotten their audience, and they really prioritize big action scenes over character development at this point.
Now this is only my opinion, I don’t know for sure.
However, that’s how it looks to me. Now, if I’m right, that is kind of sad. I wish we had filler episodes and birthdays.
I think for the last season they should quickly wrap up the storyline they had with Groff. They should go back to the Outer Banks. Then from there, keep the final story grounded and geared towards the characters.
I feel like if they were good writers, they would dedicate half of the season towards Kie. Really give her a chance to show her character like they did for each of the OG characters. From there, I think they should dedicate an episode to each character as a final goodbye.
Pope
Cleo
Sarah
Rafe
John B
If you read this far! Thank you!
Feel free to share your thoughts or any disagreements.
I'd love to talk more about this!

I looooooooove the chris x wife! reader fic that you wrote!! It got me kicking my feet and blushing 😊 By any chance, could you write a chris x wife! reader going on their honeymoon?
Awww this is such a cute idea, thank you so much, I’m so happy to hear that you loved the last one! ⋆˙⟡♡ I had to get something out on the man’s birthday as soon as I could and this request was the one I was fixated on finishing the most, so do enjoy reading and McLean’s bday ~💗!
CHRIS MCLEAN X WIFE! READER ON HONEYMOON HEADCANONS

Most newly wed couples go to just one location for their honeymoon.
Yet it was very poor of you to think that standard would apply to Chris.
You didn’t realise until he informed you that you were gonna go to two countries per continent(apart from Antartica, cuz what the hell): Barbados and Costa Rica for North America, Brazil and Colombia for South America, France and Italy for Europe, Thailand and (The) Philippines for Asia, Morocco and Tunisia for Africa, French Polynesia and Australia for Oceania.
The only reason why Chris cut it to two instead of four was because he suspected you would get sick of travelling, and didn’t want you to be complaining on holiday.
“Chriiis, we don’t need to, you know!” you’re verbal about your humble take on the honeymoon as Chris made his long list based on the notes he wrote from his and your opinions,“This is all so costly! We could really go to two continents instead!”
“Huh?” he looks at you, confusion scratching into the space between his eyebrows,“(Y/N), this is literally nothing. You seriously wanna spend our whole two months of celebrating marriage in one place like working class people?”
Harsh, but it’s fine because it’s Chris.
Before you left, he took you on a massive shopping spree where it had not even been the beginning of him pampering you with all the jewellery, the swimsuits and the candies.
This guy doesn’t need to book reservations: the best hotels, air BNBs, holiday homes, you name the one you want to stay at the country and baam. Availability opens a door and charm hands over the keys.
He also hired a chaperone for each country, but most of the time, only for the arrival and departure; he wanted more alone time with you.
At this rate, you wondered if he needed to pay to enter the countries asides from paying the fuel and landing runway.
That’s right. You were getting there by his jet -he ended up upgrading- to each location.
Since it wasn’t meant to carry fifteen contestants this time, Chris abolished the loser and first class section in the new version of his plane to be furnished completely into his headquarters.
During each jet ride, you and Chris would review helpful phrases and attractions that would enhance the experience.
“So in France, we will have to remember to say “bonsoir” from 6 PM onwards.” you reiterate.
“That’s doable.” Chris comments, leaning back in his chair.
“And they don’t like smiling a lot.” you add, doing it yourself.
His relaxation ended,“Bummer. D’you think they can make an exception for me? My resting face is a smile.”
They did- in every place.
The honeymoon was an epoch for Chris to meet his fans from all over the world. If you had a dollar for every autograph he signed the entire getaway, you would have enough money to have your own jet.
Weirdly enough, Chris lost genuine pleasure to greet his global admirers and increasingly rushed the interactions.
“It’s okay to be more attentive to your fans, Chris.” you insist, with your head on his bare body, laying around somewhere on the warm Tunisian beach.
“Nah.” he differs with his hand scrubbing sand on your back,“I came on holiday with you, not them. I couldn’t leave you by yourself.”
Aw. You love your husband,“You’re right. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
He bought you anything that caught your eye. Clothes, hats, rings, ice cream, souvenirs.
Chris had also bought five cameras. He wasn’t letting a single moment of a scenery or pose go to waste.
Be prepared for the day when he eventually gets them all printed out and stuck in fresh albums and wants to reminisce with you.
He took you to the best restaurants, never settling for one less than five stars (maybe four if you persuaded him enough).
“To another exceptional night of our honeymoon!” he raises his glass of happiness.
You copy, both clinking and declaring cheers.
Going back to your accommodation, Chris would have you carried until the first descent onto the fine duvets.
Let’s just say that, by the time you do get back to Canada, both husband and wife’s necks have never been more wine red.

Christmassy Fic Titles Masterlist 2
part one
A Christmas Saved (ao3) - samptra steve/tony E, 9k
Summary: Cold hearted Tony Stark is about to get a lesson in what Christmas is all about.
A Lifetime Of Christmases (ao3) - Coffee_and_notebooks steve/tony G, 1k
Summary: One of the things that made Christmas so special for them was the traditions they had, what they could look forward to every year.
They had both always been those people that were absolutely obsessed with Christmas, getting excited well before Halloween and Thanksgiving, and getting excited all over again after the two occasions were over.
Or: Three Traditions Steve and Tony already had at Christmas and the One New Tradition they make.
A Very Barton Christmas (ao3) - angelshotgun T, 5k
Summary: It’s nearly Christmas when Kate breaks her leg and Clint totes her back to the Barton Family Farm to heal. Hijinks ensue.
Christmas Eve Will Find Me (ao3) - kahn steve/tony T, 11k
Summary: Steve walked into his apartment to find Tony sitting on his kitchen counter, cross-legged, facing the door and flicking his thumbs against the screen of his futuristic phone in a way that meant he was either playing a game or hacking the security of some undoubtedly highly dangerous and deeply hostile organization.
“Hi, Honey!” Tony trilled without looking up. “Welcome back!”
Steve comes home.
Christmas wishes and so on (ao3) - naturegirlrocks loki/tony N/R, 4k
Summary: Tony wants to give Loki a gift, but it seems like he might get one instead.
Closed For the Holidays (ao3) - FestiveFerret steve/tony E, 6k
Summary: Tony just wants to spend Christmas with his boyfriend.
evergreen (ao3) - OnlyForward G, 24k
Summary: the story of how Tony Stark is Scrooge reincarnated and how Peter Parker is determined to change that
ft. civil war angst, tony being lonely as fuck, fun christmas activities and a nice happy ending perfect for the holiday season
Festive (ao3) - orphan_account steve/bucky E, 5k
Summary: It was almost Christmas, that was pretty exciting. It was going to be the second Christmas Bucky and Steve were going to spend together. Now that they are in the twenty first century they don’t have to worry about not being able to afford each other gifts or worry that the lights will rack up their electricity bill so high that they won’t eat for the next month.
They’re able to watch the snow fall, watch holiday movies, spend time together in a warm, comfy apartment. They were together and celebrating together, it was everything they could ever dream of… Too bad Steve had to go out and be a bad boy.
Find Ourselves in the Winter Snow (ao3) - rainpaint leo/jemma T, 6k
Summary: After a whirlwind of packing and rushing to the airport and literally running to board the plane, two small children who think the entire thing is great fun in tow, here they are. An hour from Jemma’s parents’ house, which is still too far for her mum, who doesn’t drive in a centimeter of snow, much less the several that likely cover every road between here and Sheffield.
So in all likelihood they’re stuck at the airport. With two small children. The night before Christmas Eve.
Five Golden Rings (ao3) - ripavengers steve/tony N/R, 1k
Summary: The five rings of life help make a relationship last, for Steve and Tony anyway.
Five Times Clint and Natasha Ended Up Under the Mistletoe (ao3) - AlliSnow clint/natasha G, 4k
Summary: New York, Austria, Morocco, Cleveland, and back to New York.
It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like a Hallmark Christmas Movie (ao3) - cakeisnotpie clint/phil G, 13k
Summary: Phil Coulson is determined to get the big promotion; all he needs to do is spend a few days in a small town to close the deal then he’ll be back in the Big Apple. Doesn’t matter that it’s two days before Christmas or that his best friend, Nick Fury, believes schmaltzy Hallmark movies are real life, he is not going to meet a handsome guy, fall madly in love, and move to the middle of nowhere.
Enter Clint Barton, dog trainer who runs a senior dog sanctuary and has biceps to die for.
Add a business mystery to solve.
Phil just might discover his happily ever after after all.
Mistletoe (ao3) - CaptainJimothyCarter peggy/steve G, 3k
Summary: Steve cannot lie to save his life, especially to his girlfriend whose whole career is built on the ability to lie. His mother’s yearly Christmas dinner will be a bit different this year and not just because Chester Phillips is officially his stepfather.
on the first day of christmas … (ao3) - GettingGreyer yelena/kate E, 7k
Summary: Natasha wants to make up for all the hardship in Yelena’s life, so she attempts to give her back Christmas–like the ones they had in Ohio. Only, Yelena is no longer a little girl, but a grown woman, so Natasha has to give Yelena a suitable gift for the woman Yelena has become. A pretty young woman seems like the perfect gift!
On This Winter’s Night (ao3) - athena4lynn G, 6k
Summary: Five Times Clint Barton Found Something He Needed In A Church On Christmas Eve
Secret Santa (ao3) - Ralkana clint/phil T, 8k
Summary: Clint has a secret Christmas project. Phil finds out about it.
The 12 Days of Steve’s Secret Santa (ao3) - pizzagirl darcy/steve T, 12k
Summary: A Secret Santa gift exchange is organized, with the aid of JARVIS, to include the Avengers & friends. Everyone is pretty excited with their ‘Santees’, but none moreso than Darcy. She hopes to pull off her ambitious ideas. Steve’s gifts leave him amused and slightly confused, especially when he sees who is delivering them.
Tony’s Christmas Carol (ao3) - kickcows pepper/tony G, 11k
Summary: Tony Stark was a mean, crotchety miser. He never felt he was doing wrong, until three spirits came to visit him on Christmas Eve, showing him otherwise. Or, a retelling of ‘A Christmas Carol’ set in the Marvel universe.
Under the Mistletoe (ao3) - Tutselutse bucky/darcy N/R, 4k
Summary: Jane looked at Darcy after taking a long sip of coffee, smiling a very pleased smile before asking: “How’s it going with the cute neighbor?” Darcy couldn’t control the stupid grin that spread across her face and the small blush in her cheeks as she answered: “Barnes? I saw him today, but being late and all, I couldn’t stop and flirt. He looked so cute, his hair and scarf filled with snow”. —–
Darcy is kind of crushing on her neighbor. She also has weird friends. And, it’s Christmas.
“Our landlord really went all out with the mistletoe, huh? AU”
When the Snow Melts (ao3) - emptydistractions steve/bucky E, 4k
Summary: It’s the first time Bucky’s been off suppressants in nearly a century and all Steve wants is for his mate to be okay. Luckily, Christmas Eve has a little surprise in store for them.

i can just imagine jj saying 25 to kie post season 4 reunion
I won't get to all of the asks until after the holidays, FYI. The next three days are kind of an intense travel schedule, but I did manage to get this one out!
It is 100% unedited (didn't even read it twice!). Maybe I'll polish it and post it on AO3?? Don't know, lol. It might not be coherent.
Prompt is: "Go to sleep. I'll still be here when you wake up."
It's hard to tell, really, which part is the dream.
Because Kiara knows the reality, that JJ is dead.
But it's not a reality she wants. It's not a truth she can tolerate.
She wakes, she moves, she breathes, and it feels like a nightmare.
And all she wants to do is wake up, wake up, wake up.
-o-
For the past month, Kiara has been consumed by grief. Vengeance had been her only sanity, driving her forward when everything else pulled her back. The more she thought about killing Groff, the less she thought about him killing JJ, and she had told herself that it was what JJ would have wanted, that it would bring them both peace.
But Groff's blood is on her hands, and she still feels it, the way the blade went in, cutting through flesh. She can still feel it, like she'd plunged the blade into her own heart.
It hadn't so much been belief but desperation that made her take the crown, demanding that they go back to Morocco. She'll either pull JJ out of his grave of bury herself alongside him, because she thinks Groff killed her, too, in the end. He hit JJ in the gut, twisting it through his intestines, but he got her in the heart, and she can't.
She just can't.
She sobs at JJ's grave, holding the crown. The grief overtakes her now, and she cries with an intensity that she can't curb. The others stand nearby -- too scared, too worried, too everything -- and she doesn't care. They have all grieved in their own way. They have all lived this waking nightmare.
It's time to wake up.
"JJ," she begs, hands clutched in the sand. "It's time to wake up."
The sand shifts; the universe rends, pulling apart at the seams.
And JJ Maybank comes out of the grave.
-o-
It's surreal, of course. JJ's been dead for a month, buried in the Moroccan desert, and then he's there. He's alive, he's whole, he's perfect.
He's confused, too, of course, as they hug him and they hold him. He gasps, each breath new and terrifying, and his fingers grab onto them as he blinks into the night.
"What happened?" he asks.
There's no answer for that, not one that captures it. There's no way to explain the way losing him broke them. There's no way to explain how grief nearly tore John B in two, leaving him unsteady and full of doubt. It had made Sarah hesitant, holding her stomach and staying back, and Pope's mind didn't just reason to the best conclusions. His logic was cold and hard as he helped Kiara plot revenge, and Cleo was left with regret for the man she'd made when she asked Pope to pull the trigger that first time.
And Kiara doesn't know how to tell him that the part of her that died, that girl he fell in love with, may be buried, and it might not be resurrected again. JJ Maybank may come back to life, but she fears Kiara Carrera is well and truly dead.
"Guys?" he asks, gasping for air. "What happened?"
They wrap their arms around him, holding him as they cry. He fills the gaps, see. He completes the circle. He's the missing piece that makes them whole, and he's back.
That's all that matters is that he's back.
-o-
The answers come hard, and none of them understand. They tell JJ as much as they can, but the answers still beg questions. They look at the scar on his stomach, raised and red, and he tries to shake the sand out of his hair.
John B seems unable to let him go, hovering close and touching him constantly. Sarah mothers him, making sure he eats and drinks, wrapping him up in a blanket to keep him warm against the chill of the air. Pope cries, kissing JJ and telling him how much he loves him, and Cleo sits down next to him and sighs. "I'm just so glad you're back."
Kiara watches and wonders. Her eyes grow heavy but she's afraid to sleep.
Because she's still not sure, is she?
Which part is the dream.
-o-
In the end, the fire burns low, and the others drift to sleep. JJ doesn't seem tired, as if the last month has been a long nap for him. He lays down next to her, spooning her in his arms, and nuzzles her cheek.
It's so familiar that she nearly breaks. She rolls toward him and looks at him.
His lips, his nose. His dirty blonde hair and those blue, blue eyes. Her boy. The other half of her soul. JJ.
She reaches up, tracing the shape of his face, and it's so real that it hurts. The idea that she'd lost this, that she'd buried this -- isn't something she can comprehend.
"I couldn't do it without you," she admits.
"You could," he murmurs at her.
She shakes her head, and her eyes are burning. "I couldn't. JJ, it -- destroyed me," she says. "I couldn't."
He frowns, brows pulling together. "That's not -- I would never--"
She can't stop, though. "All I could do was think about revenge. About how you would want to get even. That was all that kept me going."
He tips his head to the side, and for the first time, she sees his grief. He'd been grieving for years, struggling against a life that took more than it gave. Kiara had shattered in a single month. JJ had been keeping himself together for 20 years, and here he is, still doing it.
"I would never want that for you," he says. "I just want you to be happy."
"But how was I going to be happy without you?" she asks, voice so quiet that it doesn't feel real.
"There's so much more out there," he tells her. "So much better than me--"
It hurts, like a knife to the heart -- again. She shakes her head, jaw going hard. "No," she says. "JJ, no--"
"I'm just saying, Kie--"
But she won't let him finish. She won't let him think it.
It occurs to her now, that JJ died thinking he was expendable. That JJ died thinking that it was okay that it was him. JJ breathed his last believing that he had it coming, that he was never meant to be happy anyway, that he'd made too much of a mess to fix it.
JJ had died thinking he deserved it.
He had no idea, did he? That for all his mistakes, he was the best of them? That he'd lost the money -- yes. But they'd lost him.
They'd lost him well before Groff put a knife in his gut to finish the job.
They'd lost him when he jumped off the boat. They'd lost him when he drowned his misery in alcohol. They'd lost him when Groff left him for dead the first time, and when he went to his mother's grave alone. They'd lost him that day in the courthouse, and they'd lost him when he got that letter. They'd lost him because they stopped trying to hold him.
They'd lost him because they'd stopped seeing him as a person -- and just a problem.
Luke beat the shit out of JJ for years. Groff had abandoned him and put a knife in his gut.
But the Pogues? His friends? The family he'd chosen?
They'd been the ones to bury him in the end.
JJ had been falling apart in front of them, and they'd ignored it.
"JJ," she says. "Do you know how much we love you? Do you know how much I love you?"
He looks at her, blinking for a second. Then, his gaze skitters away.
It's ripping her apart, and she reaches up, cupping his face until he looks at her.
"I should have asked if you were okay," she says. "I should have sat you down and made you talk. I should have told you how much I loved you, how nothing changed that."
He looks distressed by this, and he shakes his head. "I shouldn't have lost the money. I shouldn't have started that riot. I shouldn't have brought the cops on all of us," he says, voice heavy with grief. "Dying was the least I could do--"
She's hated Groff so much over the last month.
But now, she hates herself.
She hates that she let JJ die so alone.
She hates that she used his death for her own means.
She hates everything.
"Kie?" he asks. "I'm sorry--"
It's a game, right? This blame game. The back and forth, who started what and who hurt who. It doesn't matter, in the end. There is no good guy and there is no bad guy. There are just people who make mistakes.
And the people who forgive them in the end.
She kisses him, tear on her cheeks. She pulls him in, pulls him close.
"I love you," is alls he can say. "I love you so damn much."
Because she can't change it. She can't wash the blood from her hands any more than JJ can put their money back in the bank. She can't go back and make sure JJ knew she loved him any more than JJ can change the downward spiral that got him killed.
"I love you, too," he says, he breathes it. She feels the cadence of his heart, pounding against her own, and the warmth of his skin as they hold each other. "I love you, Kiara."
It's penance, and it's absolution. It's an apology, and it's a promise.
In the end, it's all they have.
It's all they need.
-o-
The night grows deep and dark as the embers die out. He's still holding her, and she blinks sleepily up at him. It's hard to tell, see. Which part is the dream.
And if she closes her eyes.
What the world will be like when she wakes up.
He seems to understand, as he always does, and he caresses her face, kissing her gently.
"Go to sleep," he soothes. His voice is steady; his touch is strong. "I'll still be here when you wake up."
Kiara has doubted so much -- the world, her friends, herself -- but she doesn't doubt him. Not now, not ever again.
So she closes her eyes and leans into his touch, and lets the sound of his heart lull her to sleep in the soft Moroccan sand.
Whatever she wakes up to in the morning, she'll wake up with him.

Whether you crave ancient history, pristine nature, vibrant cities, or soul-stirring adventures, certain destinations stand out for their ability to captivate travelers. From the snow-dusted peaks of the Himalayas to the sun-kissed beaches of the Caribbean, the best countries to visit offer a blend of iconic landmarks, hidden gems, and transformative encounters.

fav song? fav book? fav singer and band? fav tv show? fav colour? fav food? fav pass time? weirdest fantasy? do you prefer fems or mascs? most embarrassing memory? dream holiday destination? favourite app? fav life lesson? wildest thing you did in college? if you could switch lives with anyone for a day who would it be? what do you look for in a partner?
Sorry for the overload of questions!! you just seem so fun to talk to so i’ve sent a bunch of questions :)) x
thank you for all the questions anon and don’t be sorry i love to yap so im happy to answer them <3 these questions are lovely seriously
my fav song rn is Nat-West-Barclays-Midlands-Lloyds by Manic Street Preachers but it changes all the time
my fav book is The Girl With All the Gifts by M. R. Carey
my fav band is prob hole. in terms of solo artists i like annie dirusso and lingua ignota a lot.
my fav tv show is hannibal
my fav color is lavender
my fav food is coconut korma
my fav pastime is probably cooking or creative writing or swimming or something idk i have a lot of hobbies
my weirdest fantasy beyond the incel one i told y’all about comes from a dream i had a couple weeks ago in which a hot friend of mine had me join her in a gig as stress relief at a motel for bands on the road to dump cum into
i have a slight preference for mascs but i love a fem ! i’m a pretty equal opportunity hoe
my most embarrassing memory is the time i dove into a pool and my bikini bottoms fell off in front of everyone ://// (and before you say it’s sexy i was like ten. very not sexy.)
my dream holiday destination is morocco but if i didn’t have to cover my hair
my fav app is pinterest bc im a basic b at heart
the best life lesson i’ve learned so far is it’s a waste of time trying to control something over which you have no control. if you can’t control it, let it go.
the wildest thing i did in college was probably the time i flashed the crowd at a football game. or the time i kissed everyone at this one house party bc it was my birthday. or the time i danced on every single guy in this group when i was in ireland bc they said they all liked me. or the time i fucked two different pairs of roommates. or the time i threw a party in a parking garage. or the party i threw in an abandoned house. eh. i’m kinda bonkers as a person i guess.
if i could switch lives with anyone for a day it would be a rich man of some kind so i could transfer some cash into my own bank account and know what it’s like to have a dick and also be treated like a man. i’d jerk off and then go running at night.
something that almost always without fail makes me like someone is if they have a weird idiosyncratic hobby they love. like a guy told me he built his own guitar and i immediately wanted to marry him even tho he was ugly. beyond that i want a partner with whom i can have fun. someone who is more chill than me bc i can be high strung. someone who can think outside the box and is capable of changing their mind.
thanks again anon <333

@notaconservative asked:
@psychologeek also why does there need to be a Jewish ethnostate? There's no Christian ethnostate or Islamic ethnostate.. Isn't not allowing ppl to live in your country based on race a nazi thing?
(I apologise for any English mistakes. I'm sick, but it's important so I want to answer quickly).
First of all - Judaism is both ethnicity and a religion, but Islam and Christianity aren't, so I changed your question slightly.
There aren't other religionstates
Actually, there are many Muslim states (57, 56 of them mention Islamic law in their constitution/similar) and christian states (100+). You're just used to consider it as the "default", so you don't really see it.
Some questions to see it more clearly:
What day the work week starts?(Sunday? Monday? Saturday?)
What are the "default" holiday/vacation days in the country? (Eg. Christmas and Easter? Passover and Sukkot? Eed (id?) AlFiter and Mawlid Un Nabi? Lunar new year?)
What is the calendar used in the country? Just the Georgian calendar, or any relation to the the jewish calander, the Hijra, or other calanders?
I can continue, but I guess you understand.
(If you don't, try compare the calanders from same year of America, China, India, Morocco and Israel.)
Example of September 2018, not full though (I used it as I wrote a multicultural fic, and didn't want to miss dates)
(Ignore the cubes, it's a reminder for things mentioned in the fic)

Race and Religion (ft. Nazis).
Like I said at the start, it looks like a confusion between race, ethnicity, and religion.
Race - fake thing, based on skin colour and og continent?. (Ok, not completely, I guess? But as 90% of the people I know are any version of mix, so...)
What the Nazis wanted was world with only clean-best-people, looking for the übermantch, the "super-man". This is same reason they killed gays and disabled people - they "filth" the pureblood Aris.
I won't get deeper into it. As jew, queer and disabled, I'm very tired of hearing why my death is a good thing.
Religion - what one believes, or follow. Usually has a mixture of ritual (things to do), beliefs (things to feel/think), and many ways affects daily life, like having rules about what to do, how to behave, etc.
(I tried to use the most common things, so it would apply to not only monotheism.)
Ethnicity:
Ethnicity - culture and history and narrative. where did you come from.
Im other people's words:
Ethnicity has been defined as: "the social group a person belongs to, and either identifies with or is identified with by others, as a result of a mix of cultural and other factors including language, diet, religion, ancestry and physical features traditionally associated with race".
As you can see, Judaism is a religion, but also ethnicity - we have our language, Hebrew (the oldest artifact with Hebrew writing is about 3,300 years old), religion (Judaism), diet (Kosher), ancestry (all descendants of Yaakov, also known as Israel, that was the son of Itzhak, the son of Avraham, etc.) physical features - even the most Ashkenazi Met, blond, blue eyes, lobster-in-the-son Jew (that was born to Jewish family, not converted) has more in common, DNA speaking, with middle Easterns then with their neighbours.
("But Psy," I imagine you asking, "how do you get blond jews?"
Well.
The same way you get a redhead, green eyed Yemeni
(in Aden, a British colony)
We are used to pogroms. We are the descendants of those who didn't die. I'll leave it that way.)
Not allowing ppl to live in your country based on race.
Again, I think you meant either ethnicity or religion?
Anyway, pure facts:
20% (2m) of the citizens of Israel are Arabs (from arab-speaking communities.)
84% of those, or 18.1% of Israel population (~1.6m) are Muslims, 8%, or 1.3% of IP (~160k) are Christians, another 8% (1.5% of ip) are Druze, that sometimes prefer to be considered as their own separate group.
Also other minorities such as Circassians (Adigas), Bahá'í, etc.
~5.5% are "other"/no religion registered.
(data from the central bureau of statistics. On the top left you can change the language to any of Israel official languages: Hebrew, Arabic or English: https://www.cbs.gov.il/he/pages/default.aspx
(some of the data might be available in Russian, Amharic, Francis, Spanish or other languages (about 30 languages are common in Israel).
As always - feel free to rb and reply.
If I made a mistake, plz let me know and I'll get it fixed
#history lesson#yes another one#psy reply#long comments#Israel#statistics#data#information#Judaism#judaism#actually Jewish#islam#christianity#religions#race#ethnicity

Kay and Tracy being Christmas FIENDS, like full on blasting Mariah Carey the moment the clock hits midnight post Thanksgiving. They both have always loved the holidays (maybe as a form of escapism for 2 lonely girls who have wanted a loving family for so long and made do with what they had) and the first year (Christmas #1) they are in their lawyer’s lives they were all to busy putting out fires* to properly celebrate or notice anything odd around the holidays in regards to each other
*(literally in Nick and Trucy’s case, girl was trying some advanced fire based tricks and oops, so they had Christmas at Kurain Village and it’s lovely if not the traditional Christmas Trucy wanted. Edgeworth got caught up in a marathon case that ended up chaining into a 3 week slog, crossing so many continents and time zones he ends up in locations that don’t really celebrate Christmas and he’s so lost in the investigation sauce he doesn’t even notice the date until (unless it’s clue based) like January 4th and he’s so tired he crashes in some hotel in Morocco for 4 days. Kay got sent back to Germany to stay with Fran after week one seemingly wrapped up and had to hunt Edgeworth down to help him in the last 4 day of week 3 and went sight seeing while Edgworth slept and lived off of room service at a 4 star hotel in Chefchaouen)
But this year! Christmas #2! Edgeworth and Nick are talking again! Trucy and Kay have meet and are basically sisters at this point! (Nick and Miles may or may not be dating yet??). Anyway, this year there’s going to be so much festive cheer and celebration and togetherness and it’s going to be awesome!!!!
And then Nick has to be like, ahhh girls maybe don’t include Edgeworth in your plans for…reasons? I don’t mind a crazy Christmas, go nuts decorating the office/apartment, but ummmm…yeah.
(Or worse, the girls kept their extensive holiday plans a secret to surprise Nick and Edgeworth and so they get their hopes up WAY high and have so many expectations that involve Edgeworth and uh oh)
In anycase, either they learn about the why, or they don’t because Edgeworth isn’t up for it at this point. Do you think:
They have a good, if less full Christmas that year while giving Edgeworth space
They have a quiet Christmas that does it’s best to accommodate Edgeworth
They have essentially trapped Phoenix and Edgeworth somewhere to celebrate Christmas (think remote cabin for some daft reason) and now they’re all stuck and it’s not going well and they have to confront lots of emotions…
Oops Edgeworth heard about their plans and doesn’t want to disappoint them and tries to force it, and the fallout of when he just can’t anymore taking up the rest of the season
CRAZY CHRISTMAS full of so many called in favours from both Phoenix and Edgeworth that involve magic and circuses and “fine” dining and cop car rides. And everyone is around all the time like Maya and Gumshoe and Larry, all except Edgeworth who is doing his best to rest and heal at home, who called in the favours but won’t partake and it’s for the best. And maybe after all the madness they have quiet 1 on 1 visits until Edgeworth works his way up to having a nice, sedate family night and dinner with no holiday trappings but all the famil he needs? (Maybe this will be Christmas #3 or 4 with them haha)
Unfortunately the first thing I was thinking of is that Trucy's second Christmas with Phoenix would be. um. 2020. so probably nothing asdgffdsfgh
BUT in a perfect world where the pandemic did not happen. Kay is at least a little bit aware of Edgeworth's Trauma, though maybe not likely to directly connect Christmas to it, but I feel like Trucy has so much emotional awareness that as soon as she would start bringing up Christmas around Edgeworth, and he was uncomfortable with it, she would immediately be able to clock that. I don't think Edgeworth is good enough at disguising his emotions to be able to get around most people, much less Trucy with her incredible perception skills. So I think for anything to happen they would have to not bring up Christmas around Edgeworth at all until their plans are in place.
Honestly I'm probably biased because I'm not big on celebrating holidays myself, but I think they'd settle with something more around 1 or 2 of your options. I think Edgeworth's trauma is less Christmas-centric and more Christmas being the big warning sign heralding the beginning of misery about DL-6 which lasts until the end of the year, so he could probably handle Christmas better than the 28th. I also think he does not like processing his trauma around other people, but over the years would be able to work his way up to small gatherings with the people he cares about to take his mind off of it, though I'm not sure he'd be there right away by year 2.

November 23, 2023
Arrived in Agadir airport at around 12pm and the taxi man was waiting for us. That was really convenient. I will be doing this the next time. Sucks that Three doesn't support data plans here in Morocco but the hotel will be covering us for the wi-fi anyways.
When we got to the hotel, I was shocked. I mean really, really shocked. We booked a 5-star all-inclusive hotel just for our comfort. I didn't expect the hotel to be so pretty. It was literally so fine. I'm glad we paid extra because we really got the value out of the money. I even wished that we booked the trip for longer because we just booked a 4-day 3-night stay. We had lunch at their mess hall and the food was bountiful. The dessert section was to die for! Literally, I'm really amazed with their hotel. This is the nicest hotel that I've ever visited.
We lounged by their pool in the afternoon and planned out what we were doing for our stay. We decided that we'll ride some camels tomorrow and have a mini-sahara tour the next day. I went to their cute little gym and did some chest exercises and some cardio. Afterwards, we both had a good back massage. It was so good that we scheduled one on Saturday evening. We watched the sun set and it was so magical. This has been the best experience of the day for me. London can't offer me this beauty.
Dinner was even better. They literally revamped the whole menu and offered a whole ton of new choices and despite plenty, the flavor of the meals had so much quality to them. I'll get fat here. Holiday gains don't count, they say. I'll cry when I get back but for now I'll enjoy.
