dee is very good at giving massages. she learned the human body mostly through dance, learning where movement left her joints hurting and where pressure needed to be applied. she's also very skilled in chiropractic practices, knowing what to twist to relieve tension. her dancers often come to her for help, and dee always does her best to take care of their aches. she needs them at the top of their game all of the time, so she considers it just part of her job.
she's always happy to apply what she knows to her partner. whether or not it turns intimate, she usually doesn't care. she knows what it's like to hurt and not be able to find a solution that isn't someone pressing their thumbs into the knot until it comes loose.

I was watching one of those chiropractic cracks videos and couldn't stop thinking about how Terry would react if his beloved went on one of these chiropractic sessions.
Would he be jealous watching the chiropractor adjust her back and neck? Since obviously he would have to use his hands to crack the joints of his beloved's body and sometimes he even uses his body weight to crack the back of the person lying sideways on the stretcher. All of this while beloved sighs with relief at every crack because she finds it so pleasurable.

Outside of being a master martial artist, I figure Terry Silver is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to chiropractic arts, that is he is knowledgeable with acupuncture, message, stretches, warm up routines, Yoga, most any Eastern ritual of wellness under the sun and literally whatever is connected to bringing the body into top shape for further training, elasticity, agility, strength, stamina and pushing one's limits, even though, when faced with an enemy, he might just declare none of these things matter in the slightest --- like when he outright lied to Daniel Larusso that Kata is unimportant. Thing is, it is very, very important, and the importance of such self-care and practices are manifested in full force if beloved ever by mere chance visited anyone and any professional explicitly tasked with tending to any part of their body because it is simply their job. A Chiropractic? Don't even have to take it that far because I figure Terry would be jealous of a mere manicurist. A hair-dresser. Any act where something his is touched. Tended to with extreme attention. Felt. He can't help but see red. Why not come to him? His chosen, selected people so he can onlook and dictate the process? Why not come to him for everything? He knows the human body? He wants to, quite literally, crack, knead and draw out those moans of pleasure and pain from beloved, knot after knot. That pertains to him and him alone. Nobody else. He does it better. He does it best.
This Chiropractic salon in question?
Will just mysteriously be closed next time beloved goes there, thinking they're doing nothing wrong, not realizing how much they're stepping on Terry's heart and his ego. The windows are covered with paper and the venue is being renovated by a team of workers. Something else opening in its stead. A...postcard and souvenirs shop? What? Huh. How strange. Things close and open so quickly around LA nowadays, it is dizzying. Someone can't even get attached to their favourite spot anymore without it being shut down and you know...promptly taken away. Outside of being knowledgeable in some types of body training he picked up anywhere from Japan, Korea and China, you know what else Terry Silver is really, really good at? Acting like he has nothing to do with a misdeed even though he very much did. Beloved will come home, entirely clueless and somewhat disappointed and they'll encounter him, ready and available, and hey, even insistent, just as willing and ready to crack them and do it much better than anyone anywhere ever could. Naturally, the experience is orgasmic. Just the right amount of pain, because beloved has to be punished somehow for daring go elsewhere. Not that they realize they're being punished. They think this is just part of the routine. Terry could unhinge their spinal cord with a couple of well placed finger movements and the power, it gets to him. He could render beloved invalid and the control is delicious.
And then there's just the right amount of pleasure.
So good in fact they'll never, ever dream of going elsewhere.

Okay, so. I was going to let this go but I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it and I need sleep.
THE FOUNDER, who was yes absolutely bonkers, thought that cracking bones cured cancer, and also that it cured blindness, and that he figured out how to do it from a ghost, etc etc. Guy was crazycakes. That is established.
HOWEVER. Since then there has been a major shift to legitimate medicine and physical therapy among the majority of practicing chiropractors.
There are still nutjobs out there. Quackwatch, an alternative medicine watchdog, cautions against seeing chiropractors who:
Treat young children
Discourage immunization
Pretend to be a family doctor
Take full spine X-rays
Promote unproven dietary supplements
Are antagonistic to scientific medicine
Claim to treat non-musculoskeletal problems
Do not accept health insurance
What happened to @thebibliosphere sucks, no question. As someone who sees a chiropractor fairly regularly for the crime of being Tall in a world built for Not Tall, I have never, ever been made to sign any risk waiver for an adjustment. Ever.
I've seen three different chiropractors over my life, starting as a late teen when my hips started befuckening. Everyone in my family has seen chiropractors on and off. My grandma was able to stay in her house and mobile until she was 91 years old, and credits it largely to her chiropractor who kept her back from seizing up. I have been in two car accidents where I was rear-ended--one of them, ironically enough, when I was en route to a chiropractic appt. Both times, despite the crash not being 'major,' X-rays of my neck showed there was a noticeable skew from whiplash. In both cases, the other party's car insurance paid for my chiropractic care--in one case I needed over six months of treatment before my neck and back were no longer stiff or hurting.
I have no way of telling whether @thebibliosphere saw a legit chiropractor or a quack. Even the best doctors in the world fuck up sometimes, and even the shittiest get it right sometimes. Medical malpractice is defined as when a doctor "through a negligent act or omission causes an injury to the patient." For whatever its worth, @thebibliosphere would have every right to seek legal advice regardless of the papers they signed.
As for one more story in support of good chiropractors:
In middle school, my dad--whose self-owned business involved moving heavy appliances by himself--did something to fuck up his back, bad enough that it left him literally bedridden. My mom had to drive him to the doctor because he was in too much pain to see. The doctor said he would need immediate back surgery, which would permanently weaken his back and lead to eventually more surgeries, and this would ultimately end his business on the spot. The doctor told him this was the only solution. My dad went to the chiropractor. The chiropractor saw him twice a week for adjustments, and my dad was back on his feet in three weeks. He continued his business for 20 more years, is now nearly 70, and has never needed back surgery.
