Why Oxidised Bangles Differ From Other Imitation Bangles
You've probably seen oxidised bangles on women's wrists, but do you know what makes them different from other imitation jewellery? Oxidised bangles are made with a special technique and offer a unique look.
In this article we will explore why oxidised bangles differ from other imitation jewellery, how they are made, and why they have become so popular in India.
So let's dive right in and discover the secrets of these beautiful accessories!
Tumblr media
Advantages of Buying Oxidised Bangles Online
Shopping for oxidised bangles online has its perks; it's convenient, affordable, and offers a wide selection! Best oxidised bangles can be found on the internet at a fraction of the price than what one would pay in stores.
You don't have to worry about finding cheap oxidized bangles that are made with low-quality metals as most online stores sell high-quality products. Additionally, you can find unique and stylish designs which are not readily available in physical stores. Moreover, when buying oxidised bangles online, you get access to plenty of helpful reviews from customers who've already tried them out.
The next step is understanding how these beautiful pieces of jewelry are made. Oxidised bangles involve an intricate process that includes etching and polishing techniques to create different designs. The metal used is usually copper or brass, which is then heated up until it turns black, giving the jewelry an unusual look compared to other imitation jewelry pieces.
How Oxidised Bangles Are Made
You'll be amazed by the process of crafting these stunning pieces of jewelry, whose blackened surfaces are created with a special technique.
Oxidized bangles are made using sterling silver or copper and are then treated with a chemical that turns the metal black. The most common way to do this is to use ferric nitrate, which reacts with the metal to create an oxidized effect.
When finished, the bangles can then be polished to make them shine like new again. This process gives them their signature dark look and makes them stand out from other imitation bangles.
With this unique look, it's easy to see why oxidised bangles have become so popular in India.
And now you know how they're made!
Why Oxidised Bangles are Popular in India
Tumblr media
You can easily spot why oxidised bangles are so popular in India - their striking, dark appearance stands out from the crowd and makes a bold statement.
The special finish of oxidized bangles online provides a unique look to any outfit and gives it an added touch of elegance.
Oxidised jewellery has been around for centuries, but its popularity has risen significantly in recent years as more people discover the beauty of this type of jewellery.
Oxidisation is also praised for its durability and longevity - while other imitation pieces may fade over time, oxidised pieces hold their colour much better due to the special treatment given during manufacturing.
Furthermore, these types of bangles come in a variety of designs that range from traditional styles to modern or even trendy looks - making them perfect for any occasion.
With all these factors combined, it's no wonder that oxidised jewellery bangles are such a hit in India!
Conclusion
Are you thinking of buying bangles online? Best Oxidised bangles are the perfect choice for you! Not only do they look unique, but they're also made with high-quality materials and have a long-lasting finish. They're stylish, eye-catching, and sure to make an impression!

For the ask game:
abelia, mahonia, sage, aloe vera ;)
Eeeek, thank you so much for the Ask, my dear! I appreciate it so much! I hope you are doing well. ❤️️❤️️❤️️
From #random get-to-know-me ask game:
abelia ⇢ do you have a particular piece of jewelry you always wear or can’t part with?
Currently, it is my nazar boncuğu bracelet that I bought in Türkiye. It has been tied around my wrist ever since and I never take it off! It is already scratched and a little battered, but I love it nonetheless. Other than that, I have never been much into jewellery — I used to buy cheap pieces that would oxidise quickly. However, I plan to invest in some quality statement pieces that will last longer and become dear to me with time. I have grown fond of the idea of having jewellery that means something to me and is connected to nice memories.
mahonia ⇢ what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?
Oooh, this is actually very tricky because I tend to find inspiration anywhere — while reading, talking to other people, absorbing what is happening around me. Trying to look at the world with open eyes and taking it all in has inspired me greatly in both a negative and a positive way. Negative inspiration can be good, too, because it shows you what exactly you want to avoid in your own life. Anything that inspires me pushes me forward in life, further constructs the notion of who I am and who I want to be, what my values are.
In the creative area, it is somewhat similar. I often use personal experience and the influence of other art on my own works (because observing and analysing the work of others teaches you a lot about your own capabilities, preferences, tastes, and style). I have discovered that many of my best works are a product of my frustration that I wanted to pour into my creations, especially the frustration with what is happening around us. I also find that going out for a walk helps me come up with new ideas, especially when I listen to music as well — in that case, I write down the ideas in my notes app and then return back to it a few days later to see what can be done with it.
Essentially, inspiration can be found anywhere, at any place, anything can give me the right impulse when the time is right.
sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?
Literature in general! Poetry, fiction, non-fiction, I happily consume it all and always find something to marvel at. I always read something and try to read as many different genres and styles as I can. I always say that it is important to read as many different things as you can get your hands on.
Reading challenges me, broadens my horizons, and makes my empathy for others grow. I get to live so many lives, vastly different to my own, in different countries and different times. Through reading, I experience things and feelings I would not experience otherwise. It is marvellous how eye-opening literature can be, how much it teaches us about the world out there, how many lessons it gives us before we have to go through those experiences ourselves.
I love good movies and series as well, some of them have been life-altering, but I am such a sucker for human emotions and exploring every nook and cranny of the human psyche, and literature is a medium more suitable for such explorations.
aloe vera ⇢ what’s something (mundane) you really want to experience in life?
Achieving personal autonomy. Enjoying a calm evening after work with a glass of wine, by the candles, with a book or a WIP in front of me, no stress, no additional homework to deal with when I come home. Having my own place so I can buy the furniture of my dreams, decorate it as I please. Going to the bookshop and being able to have the money to buy ten, twenty books at the same time. Experiencing the sense of a healing and safe community around me. Ageing — growing more mature, feeling more comfortable in my own skin, knowing I have followed a particular set of values and priorities, seeing the marks on my body, the wrinkles grey hair and indentations, and knowing that they are the marks of life being lived.

A Guide to Different Sterling Silver Finishes and How They Affect Your Jewellery
Tumblr media
At Silver Jewellery Cavern Wholesale (SJC), we understand the importance of offering a diverse selection of wholesale sterling silver jewellery. But beyond the variety of styles and designs, the finish of the silver itself plays a crucial role in the overall aesthetic and appeal of your pieces. This guide will delve into the world of sterling silver finishes, explaining how they affect the look and feel of your jewellery, helping you make informed decisions when sourcing from a wholesale sterling silver jewellery supplier like SJC.
Understanding Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is an alloy, meaning it's a combination of two metals: pure silver and copper. Pure silver, although beautiful, is quite soft and malleable. To increase durability and workability for jewellery making, it's typically mixed with copper at a standard ratio of 92.5% silver to 7.5% copper. This is why genuine sterling silver jewellery is often marked with the stamp "925" to indicate its composition.
The Role of Sterling Silver Finishes
Now, let's explore the various finishes applied to sterling silver jewellery and how they impact the final product:
High Polish Finish: This classic finish brings out the natural brilliance of sterling silver. It creates a smooth, reflective surface that reflects light beautifully, making your jewellery appear bright and elegant. High polish finishes are ideal for showcasing intricate details and highlighting the natural beauty of the metal. However, due to its reflective nature, it can also be prone to showing fingerprints and scratches more readily.
Satin Finish: This finish gives your jewellery a softer, more understated look. The surface is not as reflective as a high polish but still retains a subtle shine. Satin finishes are perfect for pieces with a contemporary or minimalist aesthetic. They tend to hide minor imperfections and fingerprints better than high polish finishes, making them a popular choice for everyday wear.
Antique Finish: Here, the silver is treated to create a slightly darkened appearance, giving it a vintage or aged look. This finish is achieved through oxidisation, a process where the silver reacts with certain chemicals to darken its surface. The depth of the colour can be controlled to create a range of effects, from a subtle antiquing to a more dramatic, rustic look. Antique finishes add a touch of character and history to your jewellery, making them ideal for pieces with a bohemian or vintage vibe.
Brushed Finish: This finish creates a matte, textured surface on the silver. It's achieved by brushing the metal with a fine wire brush in a specific direction. Brushed finishes offer a modern and sophisticated look with a subtle, industrial edge. They effectively hide fingerprints and minor scratches, making them a good choice for everyday wear jewellery. Additionally, brushed finishes can be used to create contrasting textures alongside areas of high polish for a truly unique design.
Oxidised Finish: This finish takes the antique finish a step further by creating a darker, almost black surface. It's often used in conjunction with other finishes to highlight specific design elements or create a two-tone effect. Oxidised finishes are a bold choice, ideal for statement pieces or designs with a gothic or edgy aesthetic. However, keep in mind that the oxidised layer can wear off over time, revealing the silver underneath.
Painted Finishes: Enamelling is a technique where a layer of coloured glass is fused onto the surface of the silver. This allows for the creation of vibrant and intricate designs that wouldn't be possible with the metal alone.  Enamel can also be used to create smooth, coloured surfaces, adding a pop of colour to your jewellery. However, enamel is a relatively fragile material, so it's important to handle jewellery with painted finishes with care.
Choosing the Right Finish for Your Jewellery
The best finish for your jewellery depends on several factors, including:
The overall design: Consider the style and theme of your jewellery. High polish finishes complement pieces with intricate details, while satin or brushed finishes add a modern touch. Antique and oxidised finishes suit vintage or bohemian styles, and painted finishes offer a vibrant pop of colour.
The intended use: High polish finishes showcase the beauty of the metal but might require more frequent cleaning. Satin and brushed finishes are better at hiding imperfections and are ideal for everyday wear.
Target audience: Consider who you're designing for. Younger audiences might gravitate towards more contemporary finishes like brushed or oxidised, while classic high polish finishes may appeal to a broader range.
