saw your post about chronic pain and thought i'd give some pointers (from someone who is developing chronic pain themself and is learning how to deal with it)
stretching is important. yes i know this is the most basic ass response someone can say but trust me here. i am an artist who has been in shrimp position for more than 50% of my life (thus far) and just doing simple shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand stretches before/after working helps a T O N in the long run. it will be painful at first! it always is! but stretching does help to prevent even more pain down the line. i am unsure what pain bothers you the most (mine is my feet, lower legs, lower back and arms), so i'd suggest starting with some simple stretches in the regions where you tend to have pain.
collagen. if you don't know what that is, i can give you a summary without the science-speak: its the stuff in your joints that keeps your cartilage from breaking down. best way(s) to get it? if you are simple, and can afford it, they sell the stuff as vitamin supplements. if you're looking for a way to just naturally get more into your diet, i would suggest bone broth. (yes you could buy bone broth, but if you go through meat on the regular, and are able to cut bones out of them, don't toss out the bones! make bone broth with em. i would give an entire guide of how to do it but i would be here for much longer)
waterrrrr. the drinkerrrrrrrrrrrrr. hydration is also really important for preventing joint pain (or really pain of any variety). making sure to get proper hydration is important. if you live in a city area where the tap water might not be good, please be sure to get mineral water and not pure distilled. while distilled does taste better, it lacks a lot of minerals that water can naturally have that would be of benefit to your health.
don't overexert yourself!!!!!!!! please please PLEASE be sure to sit down if you need to (and are able to). repeated overuse of your muscles/bones/tendons can have a negative impact in the worst ways possible. (also getting a walker or cane is ideal!!! most walgreens and/or cvs's have an asile dedicated to mobility aids!!! do not feel ashamed to use it if you need it!! please!!!)
in terms of short term solutions, ibuprofen will not kill you. just be sure to rotate tylenol and ibuprofen. doing this will prevent you from unintentional ODing. (you may have heard this one before. if so feel free to ignore it)
going to an arthritis clinic sooner rather than later is a good idea. i don't know what your physical/insurance situation is like, but as someone who just recently was told by a primary care that the symptoms i am having is similar to rheumatoid arthritis [which runs in the family] (and really needs to move into a different state or city or town and get a different insurance that can cover the cost of multiple arthritis doctor visits AND a doctor who will take them seriously), it is important that you go to an arthritis clinic as soon as possible. If you do not know where to go, and are able to ask your primary doctor for a referral, most primary care doctors will refer you to something that is on your healthcare plan

Now, I know we all have different needs when it comes to sleep, so I won't give you a specific number. But trust me, beauty sleep is not a myth, it's legit! I turn on Night Mode on my devices at 6:30, pop my sleeping pills at 9:30, and hit the hay an hour later. Oh, and I'm not afraid to take a nap during the day if I need to. Don't underestimate the power of a good night's sleep. It's the secret to looking and feeling amazing.

I take pride in my long and voluminous lashes, they're one of my best features and one of my most complimented features. However, my natural lashes were not always this way, they became longer through regular lash serum usage. I do not really need wear mascara and after a lash lift, my lashes appear as if I'm wearing extensions. While Latisse has worked wonders for me, it's important to note that the product does come with potential side effects such as orbital fat loss and irritation. I think that all kinds of dance are very beneficial for improving body language, so you’re free to pick whichever suits you best. Personally, I’ve found that ballet helps me with grace and ballroom helps me more with interaction and feeling more confident in my body’s seductive capacities. Traditional folk dances also often have very specific techniques for women, and they teach you how to move in a way that emphasises a feminine nature, and how to control your facial expressions and touch. I’ve also heard very good things about the benefits of burlesque and pole dancing, and even hip-hop.

I don’t really like recommending books or videos for improving body language, because I think that we lose ourselves in the theoretical sides of things, and can become prone to overthinking the movements and expressions of ourselves and others. However, these books are interesting, and once you’ve passed the ‘beginner’ stage of improving your body language, they can be good references. I wouldn’t recommend reading them before you’ve already gained a handle on your control and movement. The book ‘Superflirt’ focuses completely on flirtatious body language, and it goes quite in-depth, with lots of pictures. Julius Fast’s book is on body language more generally, and Dita von Teese’s book is an interesting and accessible introduction into the world of burlesque. I don’t practise burlesque myself, but I think that the theory behind it is helpful for any woman; skilled burlesque dancers can make even the removing of a glove feel completely tantalising, and I think that the philosophy can be made to work for any woman, regardless of her relationship with modesty and sensuality.

For James, recovery invoked the most pain he had endured throughout the entire expedition. They had gotten back to England, and by then he was hardly able to walk. The worst of the matter was that he was brought to stay with Ross, of whom billeted Francis as well. The grief of the loss of Sir John Franklin made staying with the Franklins out of the question for either one.
There was no safe harbour better for Francis to see to James and tend to him. If anything, the attentive nature of his fellow Captain only crescendoed once proper supplies and utility was available. What surprised James above all else was how often Sophia visited. He had watched the two, closely. He had watched them with the cold droplets of ache inside his chest. Whatever he and Francis had developed in his near moments of succumbing to that which ate him seemed to have dissipated. In the least it had metamorphed into something less romantic. Or, perhaps, James had thought to himself, he misread and misunderstood those touches and those tender moments.
Perhaps there was nothing there. But yet when Francis embraced Sophia during their visits, he saw it. The shale and the cairns and what would have been his death bed. Did Francis touch everyone like that? Was his tender love a supplement for him because he was dying? Now that he was no longer in the clutches of the cold Arctic's will to consume him, Francis seemed hesitant in such affections. He never watched the two of them kiss beyond Sophia's blushing and tear streaked cheeks. Though he could imagine it as he lay there, bedridden and sore yet as the aches of his bones and joints suffered the cruelty of regrowing his skeleton. Francis helped him with everything. Such things became painful deep within his core for he knew such a schism had begun to form between them. He was foolishly enamoured with the man. He knew better and yet he foolishly allowed his heart to lead him astray. He could have died happy out there on the shale. He spent the weeks gathering himself. Francis seemed to be having increased discussions with increased fever with Sophia. They always spoke outside his door, away, but close enough where James could hear them. He fretted. Was he stealing Francis away from Sophia, who surely would accept his proposal by now and desire the man just as James had? Certainly he was impressive enough for the standards set by her family by now. Was he too much to burden? Guilt swept him in and down many nights as he was left to rest in the dark, Francis' room just down the hall. When the day came he was able to walk, with Francis' hands clutching him firm and tightly- oh he was always so steady- He spoke. "Francis," He was raspy. His throat was dry. But the tone betrayed him as he swallowed tears, the sharp steely blues locking on him. "Are you well, James?" It was heavy with concern so dense it swelled inside James' belly. "I'm well enough. Please do not let me keep you from Sophy." It came from him easier than he thought. It hurt less. Francis searched him with his eyes as if he was speaking another language. "I'm well enough to walk. I'd say I'm well enough to tend myself now. You've a lot to shoulder with the Franklins. God knows they need you now. Especially Sophia." He left a brief pause but Francis did not interrupt it, "I've heard - the two of you," he swallowed, thick and hard, "I want you to be happy, Francis. God I want you to be happy. And now you have what you have wanted. I will be fine." He clutched Francis through his lie. "I do have what I want. And I am not letting go of it, James," His brow furrowed, a soft smile pressing his lips together, painfully. "Sophia, however, seems less amicable about my declination." James froze, stiff and confused. "Your-" "I am there for the Franklins. I am. They have endured much the both those women. Formidable, they are, yes. Do not worry. As for Sophia, well," He eased James back to the bed. "I want you to be happy, Francis. I want what is best for you. This is your chance to have what you hoped for when we left all those years ago." James was choking a little on something that wormed its way into his throat. "That is generous James." Francis sat beside him, clutching his hands tenderly and bringing him into his own lap, "I think I would like what is best for the both of us." He brought the backs of James' knuckles to his lips. "And that is what I will have."
