when jj gets into bed that night, he types the username into twitter. it takes a few tries to get the specific spelling right, as it had been a few hours and slipped his mind — but finally, the account filled his screen.

Entry 11: The One About the Heart of the Ocean

My father is a big history buff. He fancies himself a bit of an expert about the U.S. Civil War, U.S. Presidents, and World War II. In fact, he’s gifted me with the Useless Knowledge of which four U.S. Presidents were assassinated while in office (Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy – you’re welcome for that little addition to your own Library of Useless Knowledge).

But, more importantly, my dad has instilled in me the importance of a timeline. The idea that, if you’re collecting information, it’s vital to keep it in chronological order, that way you can look at it, (try to) understand it, and theorize about what happened before and after an event. If the facts are out of order, the conclusion you reach may be in error.

My father and I also like to solve True Crime together. When he visits, we spend hours on the porch studying some random, usually cold, true crime event. We timeline the shit out of it, connect the puzzle pieces together, and exclaim in the end, “We’ve solved it!” I suppose that is part of what keeps me interested in Lukola – not that there is anything criminal in Lukola, except perhaps the “Single White Female” that pops up behind Nicola from time to time – I just enjoy the game of trying to put the pieces together.

Lukola has become a rather intriguing puzzle, don’t you think? It’s definitely one to which I do not have all the pieces. I do, however, enjoy collecting the information and chronologizing it, and now I find it enjoyable to scribble my thoughts out on Tumblr.

So, how did I get here?

Well, it started with boredom and ended with a timeline.

My first entry to the timeline?

July 20, 2024.

What happened on that date?

Well, nothing spectacular really, except JVN posted –

YES!

YES, you guessed it! After blowing JVN off for at least three, maybe four, posts in a row, I’m finally getting around to dedicating an entire entry to Their Royal Highness.

JVN is such a fascinating creature. I mean, you get beautiful, witty, and intelligent wrapped into one human being. Oh, and they are kind of a catty bitch, too, and who doesn’t love one of those? That’s why they're the Heart of the Ocean on the USS Lukola; they just give off this very rare blue diamond vibe. Well, that, and because something they did marks the focal point – the heart – from which the rest of my timeline branches.

*I will cut in here to note that I am referring to JVN as they/their in this entry as their Instagram bio indicates they accept “they/he/she.”

Okay, back to July 20.

On that date, JVN posted to TikTok their version of the Charli xcx “Apple” dance. You know that annoying TikTok trend that took over our summer? Yeah, that’s the one – the same one Antonia tried doing – she just couldn’t pull off the JVN version of it. Dear girl couldn’t come close to matching JVN’s “enthusiasm,” and JVN’s version was only made more enjoyable in that they were seemingly mocking Antonia!

But, all’s fair in love and war, right?

JVN’s bestie, Nicola, had already spent the entire summer subtlety combating Antonia over social media. The vibe in the fandom was that Antonia was always trying to one-up Nicola, with Nicola always coming out the victor. I’m sorry, Antonia, you just can’t beat some perfectly timed BTS drops.

So, why did JVN’s TikTok post intrigue me? It wasn’t because it was that amusing. It was because they’d done something I hadn’t noticed before – they’d taunted Antonia on a public forum.

Curious, that.

Now, I’m not saying it was the first time JVN mocked Antonia, but July 20 was the first time I noticed it. That date is the heart of my timeline, but it does not have to be the heart of yours. We can all start at different times but still reach the same conclusions, so long as we keep the information in order.

You would think one wouldn’t mess with the “girl friend” of your best friend’s “best friend,” at least not publicly. But, here was JVN shamelessly mocking Antonia on TikTok. And, just so we’re clear, the public opinion of what JVN was doing with this TikTok is available to view in the comments of their TikTok post. It wasn’t just me that came to this conclusion – and JVN has left these comments up for four months at this point.

JVN’s “Apple” dance was only made more interesting the following day – July 21 – when they included it in their Sunday Dump post on Instagram.

And, Nicola liked it.

Hmm, things were becoming curiouser and curiouser.

Let’s not even pretend that Nicola isn’t street savvy and didn’t understand the context of that video. And, let’s definitely not underestimate the length of her claws.

To be honest, I hadn’t paid too much attention to Lukola since mid-June. It was an “it is what it is” thing for me. Even though I believed the relationship between Luke and Nicola was complicated (see my first blog for that story), Luke had also apparently disappeared into the summertime sun with his friend group, which included Antonia.

Something about JVN openly making fun of Antonia, and Nicola, at the very least acknowledging it with an Instagram like, made me realize something in Luke’s situation must be shifting.

What have I said about little changes? That deviations in modus operandi are what make people start giving the side-eye to a situation.

And, side-eye I did!

I started paying attention to JVN and, on July 25, they posted a series of photos on TikTok and Instagram showcasing “What I would wear if you invited me to your…” We will fast-forward through all the slides until we get to the last one, which read, “…just got dumped and going to take 8 shots dinner at Lupe’s in SoHo.” Was it possible that JVN was hinting at a dumpster fire at the Soho Farmhouse?

If you don’t know what the Soho Farmhouse is, it’s the place where Luke and his friend group, including Antonia, frequented, probably on Luke’s dime (*insert wicked laugh – oh, and a disclaimer that this is all speculation).

Funny that Nicola liked this post on Instagram, too, and it wasn’t even buried in a Sunday Dump.

At this point, JVN had really sparked my damn interest. Like, dear one, what are you hinting at?

On July 29, Deux Moi creeped out from under its rock and reminded the fandom to hate Luke by rehashing Papsmear. Thank you, we needed that. I mean, half of us almost forgot how much we hated him! That’s me being a sarcastic tart, by the way. If we were to fast-forward to today, I’d argue that Luke was the most darling thing to come out of Bridgerton.

Any ways, again, thank you, Deux Moi, for those suspiciously timed Papsmear pictures because they aligned perfectly with the pap pictures People dropped the following day – July 30.

Yep, I am talking about those strangely awkward pap pictures of Luke hanging out in the murky waters of Sorrento with Antonia. Oh, and let’s not forget the video footage of that encounter, which I am sure still upsets and confuses people to this day. In fact, I know it does because, as I was researching this, I had a couple of people get annoyed after I asked them to view it. Funny thing is, that shit never bothered me (I didn’t say that it didn’t later confuse me!). The first time I saw them, I was like, “Luke is not into that girl at all,” and my next thought was, “I wonder how old these pictures are because I would have sworn JVN was hinting at something.”

Now, this story wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t address the rumor portion of it.

First rumor? That Antonia set up the entire Italy pap photo-op because she seemingly knew where to find the cameraman. So, let’s discuss that video everyone seems to hate to acknowledge exists. In the video, you can see Antonia maybe looking in the direction of the cameraman. She then leans into Luke, either to whisper something to him or to reach for something behind him. In my opinion – and this is strictly my opinion – it looks like she’s pretending to reach for something over his shoulder. Still shots of this interaction are the photos People published, presumably because Luke and Antonia looked like they were cheek to cheek.

Okay, notice I said, “first rumor,” because, yeah, there’s a second rumor, too! But, it fits snuggly into that first rumor. Almost immediately – because that’s how fast the Lukola Sleuths get to work around here – rumors began to circulate that Antonia was following on Instagram the photographer that took the Italy pap pictures. In fact, several people I’ve spoken to swear that they witnessed during a TikTok Live a host prove that Antonia was following this photographer. That’s a bit suspicious, isn’t it? Yeah, it fucking is.

Let’s keep moving.

That same day, we had that video drop of Luke watching fireworks, at night, with sunglasses. Speaking of sunglasses, I guess Luke found those motherfuckers because he sure as shit didn’t have them while floating around in that dirty ass water. Any ways, at the end of the video, Rory appears behind Luke, looking in the direction of the camera and smiling like a condescending, sneaky little shit. Now, who was the cameraman? Well, a possible suspect would be Antonia since she was not seen in the video. Go figure.

Alright, so that day finally ended and on July 31, JVN posted to TikTok a cutesy video of themself at the market titled, “When you catch someone trying to sneak a pic but you were born for these moments.” They prance around the market and randomly look at the cameraman (Mark) with a smile and a pose. The caption reads, “I welcome sneaky pics but I can’t guarantee I won’t sneak some back or put on a show for you.”

WAIT A MINUTE!

Did JVN just inexplicably confirm Luke was getting papped by his own friends?

Yeah, I kind of think JVN did.

And, Nicola liked this one as well when JVN posted it to Instagram on August 8.

Didn’t I tell you JVN was a fascinating creature? And, to be honest, JVN only gets better as this Lukola ship continues on its voyage.

Oh, strangely enough, a few days after the Italy pap crap, Luke returned to London alone. The friend group became unsettlingly silent, and Nicola started to get really, really loud – Chaos Week was incoming! And, so were some more JVN crumbs (and nicely timed clap backs).

He bought so much expensive meat for the both of you at the restaurant and the pho was fantastic. You’ve never been to this particular restaurant before as it was a bit too out of your price range, you were surprised when he told you he ate here frequently. You wanted to ask him what he does for a living but you don’t want to seem rude. You ate as much as you could and he definitely ate way more than you, lightly making fun at the way you eat. the best analogy i can think of is, let’s say having red hair was a sin. so, as a redheaded person, you being born that way isn’t necessarily a sin. you’re still loved by god! but…since you grow out red hair you have to keep it continually shaved. again, there’s nothing wrong with having the red hair gene!! but it’s just a sin for it to start growing :)

I'm not sure if you want me to answer your last question, because on one hand, it seems rhetorical. But I do have theories!

For starters, they can't see how unlike the others is because they were conditioned against it by their religion. Many are so indoctrinated with the idea that all sin is hated equally by God, so when considering lists like this, they are not considering impact or harm. Theirs is not an ethic based on harmful outcomes. It's one God's opinion over everyone else's. To justify it, their theology makes God to be the ultimate good so a relationship with him is the ultimate good. And anything God calls sin alienates us from him and is therefore harmful to us because it deprives us of the ultimate good. But you have to bring it back to: well what does God actually think is harmful about gay love? They have answers to that question but they aren't good ones.

Second, it's easy to not recognize the wrongness of homosexuality's inclusion on this list because most people aren't gay. It's easier to miss what you've never experienced. It's also easier to hold people morally responsible for a choice you'll never have to make. A straight man who never lusts after a man is without the specific sin and he is able to cast the first stone far more easily.

Third, and in a similar vein to the above, it's really easily to moralize based on disgust. If something seems gross, it is so much easier to think there's something wrong with it. Unfortunately, sex that people don't want to have often seems disgusting. If you're straight, the idea of participating in gay sex is probably not going to feel good and it is so so easy for that disgust to be moralized against gay sex havers. It's so important to not let disgust drive your morals but many people miss this.

Fourth, homosexuality has been falsely equivocated with all of those other things. The idea that LGBTQ people are rapists, pedophiles, abusers, and/or child traffickers is a prevalent one amongst homophobes. They don't realize the difference because in bigoted circles the words are synonymous.

Fifth, I grew up hearing that acceptance of gay relationships in America was going to cause God to destroy the country like he had wiped out previous nations, like he had done to Sodom and Gomorrah. There are folks in positions of power and authority who are just making shit up and some people don't know any better bc they're in a bubble with little to no out gay people. It's harder to think gay people are going to bring down god's fiery wrath when there's a loving Jesus following gay couple in the neighboring pew or as your actual neighbor. Many people in these bigoted communities don't have enough experience with gay people to realize at first just how full of shit their leaders are and after they roll it into their worldview the change is so hard to make they're stuck like that.

I agree with you that "I don't hate LGBTQ people!! I just disagree with their lifestyle ✨💖" are still being bigoted. They would vote against my rights as a gay man and that is discrimination based on sexual orientation. They would likely still oppress me by-proxy if they could. They would vote for someone else to put the boot on my neck, but they wouldn't do it themselves.

And like there is that difference. I would rather that brand of Christian than a Nazi, or then the brand of Christian who thinks gay people should be rounded up and shot. I think it's a false equivalency to say they're the same. A society where homophobes have to be passive aggressive to maintain social acceptance rather than acceptance is one where gay people get to live longer. It's not perfect, but it is improved.

However, I also understand that it's so fucking frustrating because it's impossible to get the love the sinner hate the sin type Christian to see the harm they're doing and how hateful they are coming off. It feels worse because it's candy coated shit and you would've rather seen the shit coming. You would rather the violence know its own name than pretend to be love. It makes love feel hollow and empty because what they're handing you is this broken twisted version.

And we deserve better than that.

Miles is honestly one of the best boyfriends to have when it comes to you having jealousy issues

Not only would he be extremely understanding but he’s has no issue with reassuring you anytime issues come up because of it

He’d spend most of not all of his free time either hanging out with you or texting you so any worries that you’d have of him being with anyone else are practically nonexistent

Adding to that, he’s also extremely clingy and loves to bring things up to you without you having to ask, so given how open he is there’s practically no point where you feel the need to worry that he’d be interested in anyone else but you

However, things like when you’re at school are a completely different story

Miles is by no means ugly and does have quite a few friends both from his old school and at the school you both now attend so given your worries it’s not surprising that you’ll occasionally get upset over seeing him give someone a lot of attention outside of class or will overhear conversations from girls talking about your boyfriend where they discreetly confess to thinking he’s cute

It doesn’t help at all that on top of that, he can be extremely oblivious when it comes to others advances, as on more than one occasion he’s been confused as to why you were upset after catching a girl knowingly flirting with him and Miles being none the wiser as he happily prolonged the conversation

Miles will always apologize during or after the fact if you end up confronting him about it later, swearing up and down he’d never entertain anyone’s idea of being with him when he has you

None of this even includes the problems that come up after you find out that he’s Spider-Man

Seeing the amount of attention he gets as a hero (not to mention things like fan clubs and the amount of girls you’ve heard fawn over how hot he was), alongside the fact that he’s eating it all up

Again, however, Miles would always be there to reassure you that you have nothing to worry about and it’d be a cold day in hell before he ever entertained the idea of picking anyone else over you

Any of the words coming out of Miles’ mouth seemed to slowly fizz out until you’d tuned him out into white noise completely as you stared at your phone screen, the negative emotions forming in your head pulling the ends of your lips into a frown.

You sat curled up at the end of your bed, back against the frame with your knees pulled against your chest and one of your arms resting on your thigh and half your palm covering the side of your face to hide the dismay forming on your face. From where you sat, you could see your boyfriend laid out on his back at the other end, staring up at his own device while eagerly telling you about his day. At some point he’d started telling you about a sweet old lady who’d insisted on giving him some of the sweets she’d baked as a sign of gratitude for giving her young grandson a signed photo of him and Spider-Man after saving her from a mugger days prior, but you’d lost track of his words and couldn’t focus when you’re attention was on the page pulled up on your screen.

It was an Instagram account that was full of likely hundreds of pictures of your boyfriend out and about in the city- as Spider-Man, of course. The moment it showed up on your suggested you’d started mindlessly scrolling through it, learning from the bio and most of the posts that it was a fan account ran by a group of girls, girls that you just so happened to recognize the name of and were certain you shared some classes with. Post after post was filled with captions of them drooling over the vigilante and keeping up with nearly any and every sighting of him in the city.

Your gut twisted as you swiped to another post, trying to tame the resentment you could feel bubbling up inside of you as you read the very, very detailed description of one of the girls expressing her love for the hero and how she prayed he didn’t have a lover, along with a long, drawn out fantasy about how she’d love to encounter him one day. The details almost made your stomach turn, and you were so focused on keeping your cool that you hadn’t even realized that your boyfriend had stopped talking long ago until he was sitting up and scooting over to rest his head on one of your knees and poking your side to get your attention, causing you to jump.

“Were you even listening to anything I said?”

You paused, and for a moment contemplated lying and saying yes, though risking him questioning you on some obscure detail that would make your lie crumple into pieces, or tell the truth and risk him questioning what’s got you so preoccupied.

“Yes!” You shot back defensively, only for Miles to narrow his eyes at you. “Partially.” He tilted his head and stared. “Maybe…?” He raised an eyebrow. “Okay fine! I stopped listening after the autograph…”

Miles gave a satisfied nod, but when he noticed the irritated frown and tight lips you couldn’t wipe from your face he sat up fully, leaning forward over his crossed legs and reaching up to smooth out the wrinkle between your brows you hadn’t even realized were furrowed. “What’s wrong?”

His tone was sincere and you could see the concern trickled in his eyes, yet you still tried to dismiss his concerns to avoid worrying him. “It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.” At the same time you unknowingly tilted your phone towards your chest, and while you might not have been attentive enough to notice it at first, Miles certainly did.

His gaze went from your face to your phone and your eyes followed him before looking back up to meet his eyes, a silent stand off lasting only half a second before you attempted to pull it back to your chest. Unluckily for you, Miles reflexes were far superior to yours and he snatched it from your grip before you could do so and stuck his tongue out at you before curiously glancing at the screen.

You let out an exasperated groan and grabbed a pillow to bury your face into it, only to partly look up out of curiosity to catch an glimpse of Miles’ expression. The transition between the looks of confusion, then concern to horror that crossed his face as he scrolled was enough for you to hide your face again.

“Wow.”

You didn’t know whether or not you liked that underwhelming response. “That is a lot of detail. Where’d they even come up with the idea for the-”

“Don’t! I’ve already suffered enough.”

You could feel a small thump on the bed beside you, from what you assumed was him tossing the phone aside before the pillow was gently pulled from under you and you glanced up.

“You know you have nothing to worry about, right?” He’d known you well enough to figure out that your envy was likely the reason for your attitude, and it made you feel guilty for needing him to constantly remind you of the strength of his commitment. “I’m sorry, it’s really nothing I didn’t want you to worry about me-” you started, but he cut you off with a hand over your mouth and you shot him a puzzled look.

“Cut it out, you know I don’t mind. Those girls wish they could have what we do, you don’t need to concern yourself with them.”

You pulled his hand from your face so you could speak. “Be realistic, Miles. You got hundreds of fans, no way I can compete with that.” Part of jealousy seemed to stem from insecurity, and yours was starting to show.

“Yeah, you’re right.” You pause for a moment, baffled, but he continues before you can get upset over his comment. “Because they don’t even compare, Y/N. You’re on a completely different level. If I’d wanted anyone else then I wouldn’t have chosen you. If there was a way I could tell every Spider-Man fan that then I’d scream it from the rooftops, too.”

You’d relaxed without realizing it, and Miles cupped your jaw to lean in and kiss you on the cheek. Smiling sheepishly, your hand grabbed his from your face and intertwined your fingers. “I needed that.”

He seemed to be basking in the sincerity of the moment, before his eyes suddenly widened and Miles sat up straight, a grin crossing his face.

“I have an idea! It’ll help you out with those fangirls, too.”

You were skeptical of his enthusiasm as he leapt up and rushed to grab his back that contained his spider suit he took with him everywhere and gestured for you to follow him as he made his way to your window to sneak out of your room. Miles wasn’t known for always having the brightest ideas, but for the sake of entertaining him and being tempted by any nighttime escapade, you caved and trailed after him, believing that whatever he had in mind couldn’t possibly be that bad.

You were partially right.

“Miles, do we really have to be all the way up here for this?”

You glance over the side of the building with worried eyes as you watched cars pass from the 10 stories below you, hands gripping the hem of your shirt so tight you could’ve ripped it if you tried. Part of you wished whatever genius built the building had been smart enough to include railings. Behind you, Miles was pulling his mask over his head and casually shot you a thumbs up when you turned around to face him.

“Chill out, it’s necessary, promise.”

“You still haven’t even told me what your idea was.”

Miles walked over and gestured to your pocket before holding out his hand, to which you pulled your phone out and handed it over. “You know how those girls were talking about how they really wanted to meet Spider-Man.” “They wanted a lot more than that.”

He looked up from the phone and the eyes of his mask narrowed at you, making you shrug your shoulders at him. “Anyway, wouldn’t it be cool if you had proof that you did?”

As he spoke he held up the phone and turned to you, holding up a piece sign as you noticed he’d opened up your camera and was taking a selfie. You resisted the urge to roll your eyes at him yet were fighting back a smile. He stepped back towards the ledge, far closer than you were willing to get and turned his back to the street. “Smart, but I still don’t see why we needed to come all the way up here to do this. Couldn’t we just take a picture on the ground?”

The eyes of his mask seemed to turn up and you read that expression as excitement, evident in his voice when he spoke again. “That’s where the fun part comes in.”

Miles reached out a hand and a web shot out, grabbing hold of you and nearly making you fall as he pulled you towards him and you stumbled into his chest. “Miles!” He snaked an arm around your back and took a step back, right at the edge of the building, and only then did his plan click.

“No.”

“Yes.”

“Miles I swear to god if you don’t put me down right now I’m gonna-”

He stepped off of the roof before you could finish your sentence, and your voice seemed to get caught in your throat as you held back from screaming and held onto him for dear life. You hadn’t entertained the idea of ever joining the web slinger as he swung through the city before, but you weren’t expecting today to be the day you finally did.

Your eyes were screwed shut and your face was buried in his chest, too afraid to look out of fear of realizing just how high up you were and freaking out. You relied on your other senses instead, shivering at the feeling of cold air rushing past you and the wind blowing past your ears, though not loud enough for you not to hear Miles voice talking you through out.

“Y/N, look up.”

You let out a very swift no, causing Miles to make a face at you from under the mask but continue regardless. You could feel him slowing to a stop and a hard surface on your side, but the wind continuing to blow lead you to realize that he’d likely only scaled the side of a building.

“C’mon, please? I know you’ll like the sight, the city lights look way better from above.”

Your head was spinning for a moment, but unfortunately, Miles’ plea was always more than enough for you to cave and you reluctantly pulled away from his form, only enough to turn your head and crack one eye open. Bright lights filled your vision, but as you blinked and your eyes adjusted to the sight, you came to realize that your boyfriend had a point.

The city was beautiful at night, even more so than if you’d normally walked the streets after the sun went down. From above you could see the mixture of all of the different colors and signs coming together, being able to see far enough to make out the skyline, marveling at the sight of where the city ended and the sky began.

Miles shifted without you realizing and before you knew it he jumped, using one hand to swing off of a far taller building, but this time you weren’t completely shaking with fear, to busy admiring the sight for you to fret over it. You hadn’t even noticed how much higher you were getting or Miles preparing for the shot. He’d used his free hand to grab your phone he’d kept stored away, and as the wind rushed past your ears once again and the hollow sound of whooshing filled them, Miles brought an arm up and smiled at the camera from under the mask, pressing the button and hearing a faint shutter before quickly putting it away and shooting a web to catch you both before you could hit the ground.

The maneuver was so quick that it mostly went over your head, and before you knew it he had rounded the block carefully slowed to a stop, back on the rooftop of your apartment building. You swayed for a moment when he initially put you down, your legs being reduced to jelly before you regained your equilibrium and steadied yourself.

“That was…” you trailed off your own sentence, unable to describe the feeling in your chest.

“My bad if I scared you, I thought an off guard would look more believable.”

You turned back to Miles, who’d pulled off his mask and was now holding out your phone for you to view. Taking it from his hand, you glanced down at the screen, a giddy smile plastering itself on your face as you eyed the selfie he’d taken using your camera. You were clearly visible in the picture in his grasp beside him, staring down at the city with a marveled expression, and you loved it.

Letting out an excited laugh, you nearly knocked Miles over with a hug as you gripped the phone. “Thank you thank you thank you! Stop apologizing! It’s perfect.”

He chuckled and wrapped his arms around you to return the embrace, smiling into your shoulder as he buried your face into it and made a promise to himself to find a way to let the girls know the next day that they’d never have a chance with the vigilante after school. He didn’t consider it against the rules to put on his suit and confront a few fans outside of the job by any means, not for you anyway.

after sharing my idea of a vigilante centered rewrite of mha, I've decided to celebrate the traction the idea has gained by making a bio of it's main character herpeton. So without further ado here it is!

appearance: herpeton appears as a huge reptilian creature with a long tail 3 times his body length, a crocodile like head, telescopic eyes, a third eye, an inflatable dewlap, retractable teeth coated in iron, a green forked tongue. As a civilian he walks on two legs and has his tail retracted. He also has a brown and yellow color pattern similar to a nile monitor lizard. His vigilante appearance is quadrupedal with his tail out and has his baseline color pattern is green with purple stripes. His costume his a set of skin-tight, polychromatic trousers.

personality: Despite his monsterous appearance, rui is a very understanding and approachable person. He tries to help people even out of costume by trying to get through to those with problems in their lives. That being said, he does know when to put his foot down when the situation calls for it. He is also quite a quippy person, often spouting dad jokes during fights to to throw off opponents and ease tension. Overall his personality combines the comedic sass of spider man with the dorky boyscout energy of superman.

kaoruko awata/bubble girl: ruis homeroom teacher who he gets along well with.

anon kurose/thirteen: ruis sciemce teacher as well as his personal favorite teacher.

Principal nezu: uas principal and a benefactor of herpeton.

Rikiya yotsubashi: ceo of dternerat and supplies hereton with his support gear in hopes that herpeton will help spread his message that quirks should be integrated into society in more ways than just heroics.

Shinjiro hohoemi/mr smiley: a grafitti artist who paints art condemning the misdeeds of pro heroes, herpeton acted as a bodyguard for him at one point.

Daruma ujiko/umon: this universe equivalent to the usj nomu. A petty crook who was mutated by dr garaki into a multi quirked monstrosity that was created to destroy herpeton. He ultimately went rogue and teamed up with herpeton before seeking refuge at ua.

Eri hassaikai: a little girl who was rescued from the hassaikai group by herpeton, she now lives a quiet and happy life with ruis surrigate dad, icarus pipistrello.

Louise reginald/ghoulian: a villain who could merge and remold any house she came in contact with. She became a villain to feed her and her homeless brothers. She was discovered by herpeton and was taken in with brother by ua, where she currently lives.

The malefactor: a group of villains recruited by the meastro to take revange against herpeton, they hwoever eventually turned on the maestro and helped herpeton defeat him in the mva arc, before turning their lives around for the better.

Kugo sakamata: a pro hero who apporves of herpeotns work and knows about the hpsc's misdeeds through his enhanced hearing.

Enemies

The maestro: a psychic gorilla with a serious power trip, the maestro once took advantage of herpeton and tried to to frame him. The two have been bitter enemies ever since.

Kirai jujigun/dreadknight: the leader of an anti mutant cult that killed ruis parents, he and his cronies were caught and defeated by herpeton.

Emiko hantan/anonymous: a villain who can shapeshift into any heteromorph shes seen before. She tried to frame herpeton but accidentally oversteppednher time limit when fighting him and is now stuck looking like herpeton permenantly.

lonnie roman/iron will: a quirkless inventor who created a mech suit that mimicked the 7 quirks of one for all in hopes of coercing dekiru into handing it over to him. Was intercepted by herpeton.

Mirai sasaki/sir nighteye: president of the hpsc. He has tried to assasinate herpeton more times that I can count. Was exposed and sent to prison after the mva arc.

Kyudai garaki: the hpscs leading scientist who created the nomu. Was exposed and arrested by umon and nezu.

Keigo takami/hawks: last number one hero before the ranking are removed. Has sent to kill herpeton multiple times, but was eventually exposed and arrested by gang orca.

Rumi usagiyama/mirko: a pro hero that herpeton cant stand due to her jackass atitude and violent tendencies

Takashi merei/phantom:(created by pathosketch) britains number 1 hero and father of yuri. Herpeton was appalled by how his "training" gace yuri a myriad of scars and generally was uneased by him raising her to only think about being a pro hero( dont believe me? Pathosketch has had art where we see said scars, and in another post it was said that she barely has any real hobbies. Thats... depply concerning, you've got some explaining to do phantom.) Oh and also phantom tends to act as a judge jury and executioner with villains which grinds hepretons biliverdin laced gear to no end.

Enji todoroki/endeavor: do i even need to say anything at this point? This is fucking endeavor we're talking about.

Trivia

Rui, as an adult,owns a bar known as the dragons den which has real reptiles and amphibians form across the world in that are unable to be released into the wild.

Rui hosts a herpetology themed trivia game show at his new bar.

ough. this day was so hard. i debated even writing this, but i think keeping a daily diary has been helping me process stuff, so i'm sticking with it.

i got up around 10am and ate breakfast. i was procrastinating washing my dishes and getting dressed, when i received a sudden message from my mother.

it was extremely long, basically an essay. she had found out through her sister that i've been identifying as trans. and she was extremely upset. i won't go into details because it's very transphobic and probably triggering for anyone to read. but yea. it hurt a lot. probably more than anything else she's said in the last year.

then she called me and when i picked it up she was just sobbing into the phone. i had no idea what to say or do. she kept asking me why, saying it didn't make sense, that i was and always will be a girl. she was so happy that she had a daughter and now she feels like she's lost me. she said she doesn't know me anymore, the way i dress isn't "me", and i am making myself look ugly and trying to be something that isn't real. she said i have stepped away from islam by surrounding myself with queer non muslims who are pulling me away from the right path, and i had rejected God's guidance. that made me cry too.

i tried to explain that these things aren't black or white. my therapist told me that growing up and figuring out who you are involves trying different things and seeing if they fit or not. so when i was younger i tried to cure my gender dysphoria by presenting femininely, since i thought it was the best option i had, but it didn't fit. so now im trying the opposite, and it does feel a lot better. but she said i am being so extreme, why can't i just be Me, why do i have to have a label or call myself a boy. and i had no idea how to answer that.

she told me i can't trust how i Feel, feelings are just feelings, so i have to have faith in God. like how she doesn't feel comfortable in hijab either, but she wears it anyway because she believes it's what is Right, and that where she will end up the next life is more important than how she feels in this one.

in the end she said she had no choice but to talk to my father about this, and i begged her not to. he is a million times more homophobic and transphobic than my mother so if he finds out it will be so much worse. she told me that he would definitely find out sooner or later if i don't change my ways. so i decided to remove the pronouns from my instagram bio, block even more people, and change the captions on some posts to appear less queer.

finally she put down the phone and i was left feeling Horrible. i messaged @etherealspacejelly and my best friend from school and my childhood best friend (who is also trans). it helped me to calm down a little, although i was still panicking very much.

eventually i managed to eat some lunch and get changed out of my pyjamas, because i couldn't stand being stuck in my room alone with my thoughts. i went to my friends' house at around 4pm and they asked what was wrong so i showed them my mother's message. they were sympathetic and supportive, but i still couldn't stop thinking about what she'd said. from her perspective, everything my friends and therapist and doctor etc tell me is wrong because they don't have islam as a guide. maybe she's right. i'm terrified.

to cheer me up my friends made sure i ate, and played some games with me. i did some sewing, and we watched my neighbour totoro which is one of my comfort movies, but i couldn't concentrate.

robin said i need to be more careful because things like this keep happening. and he's right, i should've stayed closeted, but it all feels so unfair. my friends can all explore their gender identities and sexualities and express themselves in different ways, so why can't i ??

i finally left the house at 1am, because i was so tired and robin had already gone to sleep so i couldn't stay the night. also they're burnt out at the moment, i didn't want to add to that with my own burdens, so i went home. i prayed, got into bed, and tried not to cry. i think i fell asleep around 2am.

i feel so alone. honestly, it looks like my only option is to detransition. i will just have to make the best of an awful situation and live as a woman forever. i see no future where my parents will accept me being trans. even if they disowned me i don't think i could live like that. and i am so scared because my mother is right. this is not compatible with islamic teachings. and i dont know how to reconcile any of it.
