I play mtg semi-regularly using online proxies, and one huge benefit of that medium is being able to make custom art for my favorite commander.

Okay y'all I've become an MTG and WH40K twitterer as of late so I've been Following this and it's fucking WILD. In no particular order:
1. This is not the first time WOTC have used the Pinkerton Agency.
2. Hasbro, who owns WOTC, has former Pinkerton agents as heads of investigations and security.
3. Corporate thuggery is totally legal in the US.
4. The Pinkertons can't rebrand en tota like Blackwater did because of the fact that they're the only "private security firm" that the US Government is banned from hiring - by name. In the title and text of the Anti-Pinkerton Act of 1893. I am not shitting you, that is real legislation. It was in response to them slaughtering union strikers and disabling even more, in an era where disability was tantamount to death.
5. I did a small thread on the Pinkertons here on Twitter and you're free to read that if you like. The TLDR is that I'm not buying anything Hasbro or WOTC will benefit from any time soon. I'm sorry, I can and WILL pirate, proxy, commission, and 3D print shit to get away from letting these fucks have my money. A boycot is the only language those fucks speak.
6. I cannot believe Games Workshop is better than WOTC but here we are. The plastic space fascist people are better at handling their fanbase better than the printed strips of cardboard people.
7. WOTC claims that they tried to get ahold of the vlogger and then sent a single Pinkerton detective to make contact with him and give him a phone number. Multiple neighbors have discounted this version of events as they came the day before while the vlogger and his wife were out and instead chose to harass the neighbors, including an elderly woman.
8. THE SET THAT WAS LEAKED IS SO SHITTY NO ONE WANTS IT ANYWAY. March of the Machines is to be a 50-card set with 6-card draft booster packs. It's so awful, I cannot believe that it happened in the first place is actually happening.
Here, in the year of our lord 2023, a private security firm was sent out to harass someone.
I.. Madder than a babbeen
9. They didn't send a lawyer or a cease-and-desist letter or anything useful. Nope. They sent out anti-union thugs.
If the Pinkertons ever show up on your doorstep, do not let them in. They are comprised of cops and ex-cops, but they cannot be on-duty whole doing Pinkerton work, and they cannot execute warrants. Tell them to come back with an on-duty officer and a warrant, please and thanks.
They will probably try to prevent you from closing the door. You have a lot of choices from that point on, but you have given them a request to leave the premesis and that constitutes a warning, as well.
There has to be some level of self-relfection after you hire the honest-to-god PINKERTONS to BREAK SOMEONE'S LEGS on which you're forced to acknowledge that you're now just a straight up movie villain

Forgive me, it's been so long since I was on tumblr/interacted with anyone intentionally. I was just wondering what all has happened in your life since hell became the norm? Did you ever get a place of your own? Do you still stream? How are the Minis doing and have you given them a snack today? Any thoughts on Magic, if you're still interested in it? Love ya, missed ya!
Lets see...
Spent the main lock down (my area stopped the full lockdown nearly 3 months after it started) in a stressed, anxious, depressed daze. Only a few things got me through it.
Started back at work and ended up loosing my job over something really stupid (phone had a glitch is the short version). But given my levels of stress at the time, I was on the verge of just saying fuck it as it was (I worked/work at a casino, and at the time my job had me on the floor around all sorts of people, which normally already stresses me, but just imagine all these asses not keeping their masks on and all that shit...)
Was off for nearly another 3 months, had to get a job again when what resources I had were starting to thin. Ended up at the same place, but now in the Kitchen. Less people, less stress... mostly.
I have, once I got my benefits back, found out I have ADHD, started getting the ball rolling on getting my hrt (need to make a call and then set up an appointment, since I'm going to do it as shots)... Of course, calling anyone is difficult for me...
Also been slowly getting back into art. Its been a slog, but I think I'm finally making some progress that will show itself on some things by the end of the year (though no promises)
The minis are doing fine, though I haven't done that many new images of them yet... but again, projects on the horizon and all that.
MtG is... difficult for me right now. I still love the cards and the art and what work that does get done on most of the lore... But after Forsaken, things have just not been the same.
Worse is the sheer amount of MtG stuff coming out these days. Its getting stupid. I want it all for one reason or another, but unless I win the lotto or get a better job or something, there is a good chance of burn out coming fast.
I don't think its going to be the kind of burn out that sees me sell my collection, just sees me just not by cards any more. I'm already looking into ways of doing proxies as it is... But will see what form that takes for me soon-ish.
That said, there are some things I am sorta looking forward to... if they can stick the landing. But I'll go on about that in another post sometime soonish. I've already done some comments on discord and twitter. So if anyone knows me at those places, you can find what i've said kinda easy. It isn't much yet, but its there.
Beyond that... just trying to get by for the moment. Possibly looking at moving in with my Sibling and Girlfriend, but that is a slow process. For the moment, I'm at the same place i've been for that last few years.
so... yeah. That's the update. Hope you are doing well, yourself.

DJ Skee Partners with eBay for Post Malone Inspired Exclusive Cards
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article is part of our Collector’s Digest editorial series powered by:
If you’ve been looking for a reason to make the return to in-person conventions this fall, eBay, DJ Skee, and Gen Con just might have what you’ve been waiting for.
One of the most popular places to buy and sell rare TCG cards online, eBay is bringing a slew of merchandise and rare items to their booth at Gen Con, along with an exclusive collaboration with DJ Skee.
During the event, eBay will be showcasing multiple rare, high-value Magic: the Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards at their booth, with an online auction for the cards running concurrently. A charity auction of Flesh and Blood items through the founder of FAB James White will also be held at their booth, with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
On Sept. 17, eBay will also be hosting a signing for well-known Magic: the Gathering artist Aaron Miller. Miller will be signing custom playmats that eBay will be giving away for free.
Rare card auctions and artist signings are cool, but the best part about conventions is exclusive merchandise. For Gen Con 2021, eBay is teaming up with music industry titan DJ Skee to give out just under 2,000 MTG and Pokémon style cards remixed with a Post Malone theme.
DJ Skee and eBay have designed four custom cards: two inspired by Pokémon and two inspired by Magic: the Gathering. Each set will have a base card numbered out of 999 and a rare card numbered out of 99 and will be foiled on 130pt card stock in a 1 touch case. Each card will also feature a QR code on the back linking to a curated Post Malone Spotify playlist from DJ Skee.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
The Pokémon cards (cleverly titled “Postémon”) feature a Post Malone-inspired character in the style of the classic Pokémon anime. Those lucky enough to get their hands on the card’s rare version will be treated to a full art “Postémon TX.” While neither card is playable in the real Pokémon TCG, fans of Malone will be treated to a slew of references to Posty’s career that will surely bring a smile to their faces.
DJ Skee’s take on MTG cards might feature fewer references to Post Malone’s career, but the base card features a cool gimmick: it’s technically playable. Inspired by the “Hollywood is Dead” album “Hollywood’s Bleeding” album, “Zombie Post,” is a Zombie token proxy card that is ready to be sleeved and put in your deck. After all, there’s no better way to impress an enemy than with a card that has less than 1,000 copies in circulation.
The rare MTG in the set, titled “Posty Ri Berit,” is a play on the Commander card “Merieke Ri Berit” which Post Malone recently used to win Game Knights on YouTube and claims is his favorite card to use. While this one isn’t playable, its art, references, and rarity are enough to make it a coveted piece for any collector. eBay will only be handing out one random card per person at the event, but those looking to get a whole set will be able to buy, sell, or trade the cards at the event. Anyone lucky enough to get all four cards will notice that the four backs combine to produce a single image with a Black Lotus in the middle.
“I’m excited to launch my first TCG drop and blend cultures together with music, art, games, and cards,” DJ Skee said. “eBay has empowered me to organically bring this project to life at the biggest event in the space and give back to the community.”
DJ Skee is a prevalent producer in the music industry that has generated over four billion views and has a network of over two million followers. He is best known for introducing the world to artists including Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Travis Scott, and more, and has produced for legendary artists such as Michael Jackson and Snoop Dogg.
DJ Skee is no stranger to the world of nerd culture, having produced music for video games such as Halo and Ghost Recon. He is also an owner of Cards & Coffee in Hollywood and runs the collectible alternative asset fund, Mint10.
Gen Con is the largest tabletop gaming convention in North America, pulling in numbers close to 70,000 pre-pandemic. Gen Con puts a highlight on the best and brightest games on the market and is considered by many to be the biggest event in tabletop and CCG gaming each year.
Last year, Gen Con pivoted the convention online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This year, it’ll be a hybrid in-person event in Indianapolis, with an online component for fans at home. Fans eager to return to the event will be spoiled for choice as Gen Con 2021 will feature over 350 exhibitors, 31 artists, and 23 authors.
