My biggest pet peeve about the internet: no one is allowed to have their own opinion. You must conform to modern society or die.
Examples of my hot takes people disagree with on the internet.
I think good relationships and good friendships start with self-awareness and communication. If you cannot accept your own wrong-doings or realize that a friendship/relationship is not one-sided then it will probably end poorly because it takes two people to interact and not communicating your needs/wants/hopes effectively makes it less likely the relationship will work in a positive way.
Taylor swift's music became less interesting to me after the Fearless album.
I never liked Ariana Grande's music. It sounds like whiney mumbling.
I think books should be enjoyed and cherished no matter the genre. And they dont need frivelous things like "chapter titles, synopsises, numbers on spines, indexes, maps, or table of contents. Sometimes a good book is good without these things. It takes a writer. Anyone can become an author. It takes a writer to really make the pages come to life.
I think the Olympic Class Ocean Liners of the White Star Line is cursed. Because The Britannic sunk, the Titanic sunk, and the Olympic had several collisions and was retired and scraped for metal at the end.
I think anyone can be an educator in a school but it takes effort to be a teacher. To be a teacher is to inspire students to learn and to care for students intentionally by communicating subjects in multiple ways and helping them to understand. To be an educator is to expect students to grasp what you cannot communicate with minimal help to no help.
I also think Degrassi Next Class messed up by recasting Alex Steele as Tori and not keeping her as Craig Manning's younger sister Angie. Because the whole Degrassi TV franchise brings back original characters and their kids or siblings. Joey, Snake, and Spike were all on Degrassi Junior High. Then Degrassi the Next Generation was about Spike's daughter Emma, and her friends and Joeys kids/adoptive kids Angie and Craig. Then Degrassi developed into the younger siblings of the Next Generation like Ali Bendari, and Claire Edwards. Then Degrassi Next Class has some of those people still but they didnt introduce anyone with ties to older characters or anything. Alex Steele's character couldve been perfect for that.
I could go on but I'll stop myself with those examples. Because those are just some of the arguments I've gotten on the subject of lately.

Cecilia Vicuña - 23/03/22
This week’s Wednesday lecture was a Youtube recording about artist Cecilia Vicuna by speaker Heather Bendari who is a lecturer in visual art. Cecilia Vicuna is an artist, poet, filmmaker and activist whose work looks into ecological destruction and human rights. Vicuna has her work shown in the Tate Modern, MoMa, and The Guggenheim Museum as well as many other solo shows. In this Youtube recording, speaker Heather discusses when she went to two of Vicuna’s solo shows, one in Brooklyn which she described as “majestic” and the other in the Lehmann Maupin Gallery in New York, which she said was a more intimate show. Both these shows featured her “Quipu” pieces. From looking more into Quipus, they are tally cords which are knotted and used as a recording device by many South Americans. Each cord had a different number of clustered knots which was a way of conveying numeric information. In Vicuna’s installations, they hang from the ceiling in what seems to be a forest. Speaker Heather described seeing this installation in the Lehmann Maupin Gallery as “strong, sensitive, feminist and undeniably powerful” which brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
After Heather finished her talk, Vicuna took to the stage in a graceful and gentle manner and began singing in Spanish, to me it seemed very spiritual and like a part of her culture. She seems so immersed in her art and almost as if it takes over her life, which is really interesting to see. She told stories of her childhood and life, and how she moved from Chile to America and her experiences with that, including racism, which inspired a lot of her artwork and poetry, as well as her path to becoming a feminist and activist. Vicuna spoke of a feminist rally, and how she had never seen a rally of naked women standing up for what they believed in before, and how much this has inspired all of her work. A big part of her talk was about a rally that happened in Chile on March 8th 2019, in which women marched with a red hand print over their mouths to symbolise rape and how women often aren’t allowed to have a voice. Vicuna said how the images from this march made her tremble with terror and joy at the same time, joy at the fact that women are standing up for themselves and what is right, and terror as Chile has a reputation of having some of the most violent femicide campaigns in the world.
I really enjoyed this Youtube recording and hearing Cecilia Vicuna speak in such a way that should be inspirational to any woman. Her art and poetry is in my opinion really beautiful and tells a story of her awakening as a feminist and the struggles she herself has been through and what she has seen other women from her home country of Chile go through. In many ways, Cecilia Vicuna reminded me of artist Yoko Ono, her singing and expressiveness and the way in which she speaks so intelligently of issues that are important to her. Overall I found Vicuna very inspirational and will definitely be referencing her during my work that is related to feminist matters.

Höhenrausch . RieplRiepl Architekten . 2009 . Linz .

Karim Abdel Gawad wins a 5 setter. Who knew.
[4] Karim Abdel Gawad (Egy) 3-2 [8] Mohamed Abouelghar (Egy) 12-10, 11-6, 5-11, 8-11, 12-10 (92m)
“Never in doubt” commented Farah Bendary-Gawad. No, OF COURSE NOT, Karim’s bride never said that. Neither did hid Dad, Mum and Sis, sitting right next to me.
It did start bleeping well for the Baby Face Assassin, better that he probably expected after his poor performance of their match in the group. 7/1, 9/5, and looking light and accurate, thanks also to three errors from Abou. But two stroke and a winner, and we are back at 9/9. The sweat pouring out of Abou is making the court very difficult. A few stoppages will follow the whole match, with the Bullet coming off court to swipe his face bless him.
First game ball, 10/9, and it’s a tin, 10/10. And the Groom manages to salvage that one, 12/10. Crucial. 4 errors each. 7 winners, 1 stroke for Karim, 4 winners 2 strokes for Abou. 18m.
Second game, Karim’s truly flying out there, and it’s 3/0, 5/1, 6/2, 9/3. A big push from Abou, 11/6 in 14m. 7 winners for Karim, 5 for Abou, 1 error each, and difference coming from strokes (3 Karim, 1 Abou).
Things start to go very wrong of the Gawad camp from the third one. More errors coming from Karim, 5, offering a good lead 5/2, 6/3, 7/4, 8/5, and again errors at the end, 11/5 in 12m.
If Karim reduces the errors in the 4th, Abou is the one with the shots, the power, the changes of pace and angles. He is the one that plays better squash, although both are giving it all out there, 3/0, 4/1, 6/3, 8/5.
Karim claws back, the support for Abou is getting louder and louder. 7/8, Karim is so close but it’s the Bullet that makes it to the finishing post, 11/8 in 16 long minutes.
Karim makes more winners in that one, 7, but more errors too 3 for only 1 for Abou, and only 1 stroke for him, against 3 for Abou….
The fifth sees Karim warned once for a dodgy movement 5/2 up. Then a should have been let is given as a stroke as he was warned says the ref. And again, as Karim finally managed to get a match all at 10/8, another stroke for taking the line of his opponent says the ref.
I have to admit, I didn’t see those as they happened, but the video ref was the one deciding on those last two calls. He saw something I completely missed.
Nail bitting rally, another saved match ball, ending at 10/10. A no let confirmed by the video ref, and it’s a third match ball, 11/10.
Ironically, it ends of a tin from Abou, who today was so good and made so few of those, 12/10, in 25m…
