An Atlantic horseshoe crab (Limulus polyphemus) in the mangroves of Ria Lagartos nature reserve, Yucatán. Females can lay up to 20,000 eggs in one night playing an important role in providing nutrient-rich eggs to migratory birds.

A Yucatan rat snake snaps up a bat in the Cave of the Hanging Snakes. Every evening at sundown, thousands of bats emerge from the cave to feed – and risk becoming prey themselves.

In the darkness, the photographer used a red light that bats and snakes are less sensitive to. Watching the snake poking out of a crack, he had just seconds to get the shot before it retreated to enjoy its meal.

Typiquement le genre d'esthétique (magnifique en l'occurrence) qu'on voit partout sur les Fb qui volent des photos ou partagent des photos dont les noms d'auteurs ont été enlevés. Pour une grande partie de la population, toute photo qui n'est pas dans ce genre d'esthétique, irréelle et/ou surtraitée, n'a pas d'intérêt. Je me bats depuis une dizaine d'années, entre 8 et 12 h par jour week-end inclus dans mon magazine d'art, sur mes sites de photo et ici, pour tenter d'agrandir le spectre mais le combat contre les goûts médians est beaucoup trop dur. Le goût des beaufs, comme les invasions barbares ou l'égoïsme, ne peuvent pas se combattre : ils ont gagné, cela a toujours été ainsi et il en sera malheureusement toujours ainsi.
