Believe me it is not easy to find open the water to shoot #NorthernLights in the dead of winter! I mean, you don't want to go swimming this time of year. This shot is inspired by a fellow guide and photographer @ocwright at @LightsOverLapland whom captured the Northern Lights together with the #MilkyWay. The most common aurora color is green. Typically produced when charged particles collide with high concentrations of #oxygen molecules in earth's atmosphere at altitudes of around 100 to 300 km, (60 to 190 miles) Purple / pink & blue auroras tend to appear during periods of higher solar activity.
