Because for some gawd only knows what reason, I've been talking about sympathy and empathy today.

Here is where I feel it.

The gawdforsaken nazis used children as soldiers in World War II through the Hitler Youth, a paramilitary organization that indoctrinated boys to fight for the Nazi cause. The Hitler Youth was where they were usually pulled from. With some children only being 8-9 yrs old. Think about that for a second. The Austrian hate-monger was already in power before these kids were born. They knew nothing but nazism.

The Hitler Youth was founded in 1926 to train boys to join the SA (Storm Troopers).

In 1936, membership became mandatory for boys and girls ages 10–17.

The Hitler Youth was organized into local cells, regional groups, and corps.

Boys learned military drills, handled weapons, and participated in sports.

The Hitler Youth was indoctrinated with Nazi ideology and trained to obey orders.

Boys who refused to follow orders faced execution.

In 1943, boys 17 and older were forced to serve in the military.

In 1945, younger boys were pulled from school and sent to the front.

Yes, to anyone that is a minor that sees my posts? These kids were younger than you are in some circumstances.

The children were forced to serve in an unwinnable war. They faced death on a daily basis at some points.

The fear these children faced, when they should have been outside playing with their friends, going to school, and enjoying themselves. Instead, they had death surrounding them. It wasn't just the soldiers either. The bombing attacks, the scarcity of food, everything. And so many became POWs. Enough that they had their own POW camp.

War is and always will be hellacious.
