Here's my thoughts on reader taking the reins sometimes (and why I kind of think Matt needs it some days), cause I was wondering if this topic would come up. I've hinted a little at the dynamic in TRT but I haven't come right out with it yet.

So sometimes Matt and Reader just want chill sex, with no in-control/let-go vibes. And that's cool, will prob be the majority because sometimes you just want sex before your waffles in the morning and you don’t have time for a Big Thing.

Likewise, feral Devil Matt is occasionally a tornadic whirlwind of sexual fucking energy who is here to EF-5 you down to your basement, so just hold on tight. And Reader is good with that too cause aren't we all?

HOWEVER. Personal headcanon on this is Matt also wants Reader to own his ass. He wants someone to care about him, love him, and find him so worthy of that affection that they want to stake a claim.

I see Matt as switchy as fuck is what I’m saying (may not surprise many people considering I’ve had Matt express interest in Reader trying to chain him down). It continues the theme of the duality: Lawyer versus Vigilante, Matt versus Daredevil, Desire for Softness versus Urge Towards Violence. So, I like to think then, you also have Matt sometimes needing to be in control, and sometimes needing to give control, and even he’s not always sure which one he’s feeling. So I’m down with Dom or Switch Reader, because it means she can work with that duality.

Matt is ultimately someone who's desperate to be cared for (but afraid to ask for it), and at the same time he is absolutely willing to put his own needs aside in an attempt to please Reader (stemming from his 'please don't leave me' fear). We know he's reckless, a bit martyr-y, and thinks he deserves jack shit. So, at least how I’d generally write it, Reader will absolutely need to take control some days JUST so she can care for Matt the way he needs. Not just sexually, either. I toyed with this a tad bit when Reader had him strip so she could check his wounds and rebandage him (he basically handed her the reins in that moment). Matt is, essentially, not great at taking care of himself. So I see this as translating over into sex. Reader will have to, at times (consensually) force him to sit back and just feel good.

I’m also gonna play a little with Matt sometimes getting stuck in Devil-mode, adrenaline at 100, overstimulated and with his senses all over the map, shaking with it, touch being agony-toomuch-good-bad, and needing Reader to walk him out of that.

In other words... at least in TRT, Reader will sometimes be the dominant one, because I think that might help Matt a lot to have. And also it’s fun, because then we get to have both, and I like both.
