Barb length of Barbed wire

For barbed wire,usually most of the attention is focused on the wire diameter, barb spacing, length and weight of coil. But the length of barb is often overlooked. Some customers have special requirement. One of our South American customers bought barbed wire for his farm. He required that the length of barb should be 1.0 cm. If the barb is too long, his cattle and sheep will be injured. On the contrary, another Asian client asked for the length of barbed wire to be 2cm because it was more threatening to intruders. However, considering the coil transportation, we usually suggest that the barb length should not be too long. So as not to bend the barb when the barbed wire is rolled,1 cm to 1.5 cm is the best length. For single strand barbed wire usually is around 1.5cm.

Twisted quality of Barbed wire

Besides the length, the twisted quality of the barbed wire is also important. For reverse twisted barbed wire and single strand barbed wire, If the barb is not twisted tightly enough, the twist will come loose or even fall off when the rope is stretched. Then the barbed wire is no longer protective. It is necessary to pay attention to adjust the machine so that the barb can be tightened.

Packing of Barbed wire

For the convenience of the buyer, the packaging of the barbed wire has also been improved a lot.

Firstly, we use color paint or ribbon to mark the end of barbed wire, so that user can quickly find it. Secondly, there are different handles for choice. Steel wire handle, color handle, PVC wire handle. Thirdly, various axes have been used to make it easier for users to unroll, such as plastic core, wooden axis and steel axis.

Regarding label, we usually put small card label into the inner of barbed wire to protect it from being damaged during loading, unloading and transportation. Some customers prefer surrounding big label, we would advise customers to use pallet. If pallet are not used, it is better to put on label after the barbed wire arrive in warehouse. There was a case that a customer insist on take on label but without pallet. As a result, due to the long distance transportation, multiple loading and unloading, the barbed wire friction each other. Finally the surrounding label has been broken when arrive in warehouse. Therefore, we can provide labels for separate storage, customer can pack them after transport.

Seldom customer choose carton packing for barbed wire. This packing is most safe during transport, but the packing cost is very high, furthermore the loading quantity is very small. We will talk in the follows. For high strength single strand barbed wire, we usually clips to fix them like as razor concertina.
