The most famous trophy girl in American drag racing, the often-braless Barbara Roufs was a fixture at the California drag racing scene of the early 1970s. Her tight shirts and perky headlights caught the attention of Tom West, a renowned drag racing photographer who often looked for the softer stories in the sport. He loved to snap pics of Roufs and she seemed to enjoy posing for him. The series of photos West took of the lovely Roufs helped contribute to her 15 minutes of fame and helped bring attention to the sport of drag racing as a whole.
