MEDICATION VALSE (A ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST INSPIRED PLOT)

Not all who are tainted wish to align. While some are apathetic to the current state of the world, others feel that change is needed but their viewpoints don't align with any current faction. They are the minority and sometimes the decision to be an outsider within their own kind makes it incredibly difficult to find an unwavering place. A constant hub where they can feel moderately safe. The living quarters above Obscurus Books is that safe haven.

They're misfits based on the characters in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. All names and playby's are only suggestions.

BILLY BIBBIT

Eliseo Sanguini is the owner of Obscurus Books. Eliseo has a will to please, all as a pretense to hold some sort of control over his own life. Although he is part of the vampiric society, Ex Luna, there are days when lethargy and anxiety take over and he needs time away. While he sees the current issues in society, especially for those tainted, he’s too much of a coward to act on them.

When left alone, he begins to obsess over the idea of his own death. Fear of being forgotten and loneliness has created a need to take in those around him without a place to call their own, helping them while helping himself. (taken)

MCMURPHY

Devereau Peakes is the newest tenant above the publishing house. However, he's taken on a leadership roll among those living in the loft. Originally a hopeful to be turned and join Ex Luna, Dev recently left over unforeseen differences. He believes that Ex Luna spends too much time on luxury, time that could be focused on working with the Order. He sees vampirism as an attainable power and while he can no longer get it from the group, he still hopes to change through Eliseo.

Unlike many of the other tenants, he could easily find somewhere else to live, but Devereau knows of Eliseo's need to help others. Still, he means well and cares for Lis, wanting to help him mature. He's a well meaning user who easily gets attached to those he's around. Even begining to work at the publishing house, though he tries to take on more than he can chew. Although he's rough around the edges and living in the apartment started out of personal gain, he's begun to care for those around him.

RATCHED

Cecelia Della Morte is the only regular in the apartment that doesn’t actually live there. Cecilia was sired in Italy during the late 1700s, she was one of two sired by the same man, Eliseo was the second. When their sire died, he left his possessions to Eliseo and she has been bitter about it ever since. She creates calamity in a place meant for unity and peace and is disliked by the majority of the house, however Eliseo could never reject her.

Cecilia is part of Ex Luna and while she enjoys the finer things in life, she wants real power and recently learned of Bathesba's goal and vie for power, agreeing and joining the cause.

Suggestion: Rebeca Marcos

CHIEF

Although Joo Soo-young is not a full out member of Ex Luna, he's incredibly old and has watched everything unfold throughout the groups existence. While he has observations and opinions, he doesn't believe in forcing people to change, they have to learn it for themselves. Born in the later half of the Joseon Dynasty, he’s seen and participated in countless wars, Soo-young knows that one person can’t create change on their own, you need a movement.

He works as an editor at Obscurus Books in exchange for housing, but he could easily afford to live alone. While he doesn't say much, Soo Young enjoys the company and is curious about what will happen now that somebody untainted is living with the group.

Suggestion: Lee Bom Chan

HARDING

Hurt one too many times for being tainted during his long life, Moryn Vaisey prefers hiding from the spotlight. He's a repressed individual who prefers safety over excitement. While Eliseo owns Obscurus, Moryn is the real force behind the company. If Lis is the Cfo, he is the Ceo. Mor is intelligent and until Devereau entered the picture, he was the leading force behind the group of misfits living together.

CHESWICK

Recently turned, Piers Clearwater is the inspiration behind Devereau's want for change. Both avid Order supporters, Piers has been friends with Devereau for many years and takes his word as gospel. He does not have a permanent residence, but more often than not he is in the apartment. He's a loose canon, who's boisterous about vampirism and if not for Devereau's dislike of Ex Luna, would probably enjoy the hedonistic approach the group has.

SCANLON

Involuntarily turned as most werewolves are, Petunia Evans is one of the newest residents above Obscurus Books. However, a strong will to protect and persuade has created a sense of purpose to fight for the rights of the tainted. Working as the Production Floor Manager for all published pieces at Obscurus, Petunia uses the presses on her off time to create posters and other printed publications to help spread awareness and change. While others in the building may be more hushed about their beliefs than she, everyone sees her passion. (taken)

MARTINI

Florentina Furmage is the most recent addition to the group of misfits, and only the second werewolf to ever step foot in Obscurus. She's kind, but fragile and still doesn't want to accept that she is now tainted. Flor already had hardships being a muggleborn and with the additional anxiety of visiting her family due to fear of hurting them, she spends most of her days indoors. She works as a secretary at publishing company, though she's lackadaisical and more often than not is lost in thought. She has plenty of questions, many of which the tainted group have no answers too. Keeping this in mind, she especially clings to Petunia, the only one who truly understands what she’s going to.
