I'm sorry for the wait, I lost my phone right after I wrote most of the fic! I just got it back and finished it, here you go!

Off to Castle Dedede you rushed, an important bag slung over your shoulder. The dark clouds overhead and feeling in the air could only mean one thing- soon it was going to rain and drench all the mail you were carrying! When you took the job to become a mail carrier, you didn’t imagine it would be this perilous.

You sped in through the castle door and it was a good thing you didn’t slow down once since the first signs of rain, because it started pouring instantly once you got in. On the downside, you were exhausted from running at top speed for so long.

You set down your bag to catch your breath and laid on your back next to it. Breathing heavily, you let your muscles relax for now.

It must have been a few minutes, because a certain bandana-wearer carefully crept up to you. “Are you okay?” He asked with concern, standing next to your head so that you could turn your face to him and look him in the eyes because he was a tiny boy. To a human at least.

“Yeah,” you didn’t move from your spot on the floor. “Just needed to rest for a bit. I had to run a lot to get here before the rain.”

He nodded sympathetically, then saw the sack next to you. “Is that a mail bag? I didn’t know you were a mail carrier!”

“Yup! Got the job pretty recently, so it’s no wonder you didn’t know.”

“Oh that makes sense!” He waited for a bit. “Why aren’t you getting up?”

Poor guy looked and sounded so worried, you had to respond as quickly as possible! “Oh- uh- don’t worry! I just, uh… didn’t want to get up.” You got up. “Sorry.”

“It’s okay!”

You concentrated for a second on remembering something you forgot. Oh yeah!

“I’ve still gotta deliver this mail. Where do I put it? I don’t know where the Castle Dedede mailbox is.” 

“Well… the mailbox is outside in the rainstorm… so I’ll just take whatever’s for this place and deliver it myself to everyone here who needs it!” You looked outside at said rainstorm. “Well, I can’t let the rest of the mail get wet, so I’ll have to stay here until it passes. I’ll help you do that, then.” Bandee smiled with his eyes. “Thank you for helping! This way!” You picked up your bag and followed him down the halls. 

You were very fast without even trying, is what most people of this universe would say. He was pretty slow to you due to being so small and not having legs, but you had patience. For a while at least. After the first few deliveries, you offered to pick him up and carry him.

He seemed a little surprised at the thought, and you wondered if you had made him uncomfortable. It turns out, he was just excited about being held by you. You lifted him up and held him in one arm. He was impressed by your strength, but though it was true that big things are generally better at lifting than the smaller things that were abundant here on popstar, he was stronger to be honest. 

Not enough to pick YOU up, but enough to lift things that you couldn’t. It was a bit freakish to you considering he was only a little above eight inches tall. (9 or 10 inches maybe? Taller than Kirby) The people of this world had proved to you before that their weight did not correlate with their strength in the same way humans worked. You picked up King Dedede’s hammer once, and were shocked by how you could barely get it off the floor! King dedede also picked you up (with some difficulty) to show off once, but you could raise Dedede about as high as you wanted! He weighed about as much as a cat though, which is the most heavy anyone here has ever been to you other than Adeline. Most of them were like plushies, such as the dee you held now, but Kirby was light as the spring breeze! It was a wonder he didn’t blow away all the time, but you had learned most things didn’t follow the logic you were used to. Such as how that same Kirby could hold you over his head with zero effort. Apparently his power was infinite in all categories. Most people here couldn’t lift you no matter how hard they tried, though.

You were a little bit wimpy for a human to be honest, but you could still easily hold a lot of little guys, so you were happy with the strength you had.

You carried him through the rest of the deliveries for the castle and went back to the room you ran into when you first got indoors, but it was still pouring hard as ever. You wouldn’t be able to leave and deliver anywhere else anytime soon.

You looked down at the brave warrior nestled adorably in your arms. He looked back, knowing the same thing you just realized. You just stood there in silence for a good second, then asked, “Is there anything I can do?”

Bandee thought for a second. “Well, we can race raindrops on the windows.”

“Good idea.” You went to the nearest window with him in your arms and set down your heavy bag of mail, then sat down facing it, holding Bandee so he could see the window and the water on it as well as you could.

“I pick this one!” He exclaimed, putting his paw/nub/fingerless flap for an arm on the window pointing to a raindrop he liked. “That one.” You smiled, putting a finger on the window pointing to another drop that looked promising to you personally.

His drop was bigger than yours at first, but yours absorbed a lot of other droplets and won! You raised your fist into the air. “Woo!” Bandee took the loss like a champ. “Congrats!”

You continued to race raindrops until you saw the rain stop through the glass and you had to continue on your mail route. You said goodbye to Bandee, promised to meet him again sometime, and gave him one last hug before you went. He waved as you left until you were out of sight. A good day!

Hello, hello! Thank you for enjoying my Forgotten Land Roleswap comic, it means a lot! <3

I'm very honored that people have been asking me for tips and advice. All of this is coming from a hobbyist who draws these comics purely for fun outside of my regular day job. Some of my methods would probably deal psychic damage to a professional, LOL. But I'm more than happy to share some things I've personally learned! :)

First of all, the book, "Understanding Comics" by Scott McCloud ROCKS. It literally gave me a new dimension to understand the medium of comics and how it presents ideas and emotions to readers! And I haven't even had the chance to finish it all the way! I'm very happy I own a copy and I recommend having one of your own if you can, but it's archived here if you want to read it :D

I also like analyzing other comics and thinking about how they get information across to me as a reader. It's helped me learn more effective ways to visually tell a story, like what to include in a frame, how zooming in or out affects the feeling from the panel, maybe building a scene by focusing on other stuff if someone is talking a lot... etc.

ANYWAYS-! Some other tips I've learned through my personal experience-

I had to overcome a lot of negative self-talk in order to tackle a huge comic project like this and stay committed. I was a pretty severe self-deprecator for most of my life so far, and getting help has allowed me to catch myself when I'm slipping back into those habits, look in the mirror, and go, "NO, JOJO! You pour your heart into what you make and that is a wonderful thing! You are appreciated and loved and you deserve to have fun making something you are passionate about!!" Some examples of the negative self-talk I catch myself in....

"I'm a noob at writing and making a story interesting... What's the point of even trying?"

When it comes to starting a project, whether it's 2 pages or 2000 pages, is to just jump in and start! It's okay to be a little insecure or nervous about your technical art skills, writing skills, etc... But writing a "bad" scene is better than no scene- because you can always edit a "bad" scene down the line, but what can you do with nothing? Nothing!! I also put "bad" in quotation marks because I am trying to use that term less, and instead call them "early drafts." or "works in progress."

The first Roleswap scene I fleshed-out was the first Bandee boss fight, in May 2022. I made this drawing on an impulse, getting my ideas down on the page without thinking about the technical stuff like comic panel borders. I consider it like a "pilot episode" almost, haha. The final project is going to be very different from how things play out here. But it got me interested in the concept and excited to see where I could take it, and I made the decision to commit to an entire game plot's worth of AU comics!!

Also, what's the point in trying you ask? The point is to have fun! Making a fan comic in my free time means I don't have restrictions like deadlines, nobody's telling me what I can and can't write, and I can make the story as long or as short as I want! I have full control, which means the world I'm writing is all mine to create! Yes, with a fan comic there is a pre-established world with existing characters. But a universe like Kirby has enough open-ended concepts for people to take basic concepts in the world and take them to whole new levels! I think that's why there are so many amazing fan interpretations of Kirby characters and OCs. The rules are so vague, you can just make up your own a lot of the time!! And it's a wonderful exercise to learn skills for someday building an original world with all original characters from scratch! Magical!!!

"I'm not good enough to make a comic. I don't understand perspective or color and other stuff. Anything I make will look bad.

I once read a two panel comic on here. I can't find it anymore but I remember most of it. First panel showed the artist looking at what they're drawing on their tablet, looking defeated and sad. "Man, I don't even know how to draw this....."The next panel was like them smiling and shrugging, I think rainbows and sparkles were coming out of their tablet, ".....I GUESS I'LL JUST HAVE TO DRAW IT SHITTY!! :D "

IF ANYONE KNOWS THIS COMIC I'M REFERENCING, PLEASE TELL ME AND I'LL LINK IT!!! Because it permanently and positively changed my brain chemistry.

No kidding, making the decision to just do my best even if it's not perfect, helped me a LOT. I was always waiting to "reach a certain level" to tackle a huge project because I felt like I'd never do it justice at my current state. Except I had been telling myself that kind of stuff for years and I still didn't start any projects!!

So the day I said, "Oh well! If I draw backgrounds shitty, then it is what it is! I'll learn from it and draw the next background a little better," Was the day I could commit fully to the project. I'll keep studying how to draw them better for my own benefit, but I won't let my skill issues stop me from even trying!

And for my limited confidence in full-color art, I solved that by making the comic in black and white with no-to-minimal shading lolol. Because I can only address one skill issue at a time before it takes me 25 years to finish this HAHAHA.

It saves a BUNCH of time to work with skill issues rather than against them! Because at least experience is gained in other ways, and who knows, maybe that new knowledge will help address the skill issues someday! So identifying your personal skill issues and deciding which one to try to grow stronger, and which one to work around, could help with big projects!

"Nobody will read this. I'm going to put months or years of my life into a dumb little thing nobody will even care about."

Learning how to draw for my own enjoyment instead of somebody else's was one of the biggest breakthroughs I ever made. Enjoying the feeling of being challenged artistically and just doing my best, even if it's not technically perfect, is the reason why I was even able to start this!

And just because someone doesn't directly like, comment or whatever on a post doesn't mean nobody saw it! I used to get really down on myself for the lack of engagement on my art on other websites.

I was a lurker for pretty much my entire teenage years and never posted my own stuff or commented much. But that didn't take away the fact that I really enjoyed the things I saw online. Those positive feelings were real to me, even when I didn't know how to articulate it in words. Granted, I grew up into a Words of Affirmation main, and I use words to tell people the positive things I think about them as much as I can! But I know not everyone prefers words to express themselves. So I think about the people that I don't know enjoy my work- that just because I don't see it doesn't mean I didn't make a positive impact on someone by sharing my stories.

THIS IS GETTING LONG-- UHHH, STORY TIPS!!

If you work best on technology, start building the story in a Notes app, or a Google Doc! If you work best with pen and paper, start a notebook and rearrange stuff as you need to!

Or if you're chaotic like me, a mix of tech and paper!! I bought a notebook with ring binding so I can remove and rearrange pages of drafts as much as I wanted to! Like here's two very rough concept pages of one Chapter 1 scene made months apart.

I'd say planning out the biggest basic plot points and then filling in between as I went was most helpful! I also have separate notes for character motivations, important story-changing events, etc... So I can have my own reference when I'm writing new scenes!

Okay this was a lot, sorry about the yapping! Hopefully it helps even a tiny bit. If you have any specific questions I'm happy to talk about my experience in the creation process! Or elaborate on anything I said above.

And finally, because I'm not a professional there are probably plenty of other tactics that could work better for some people. My ADHD probably doesn't help with the chaos of my process either, HAHA. Member? I'm not sure how to interpret this question, so I'll take it as what character I identify with most.

I'm gonna have to say Meta Knight. He's the reason I got into writing fanfiction! ...And then started tormenting him in every way possible. Sorry MK. Being a favourite comes with hazards. At least he gets to share the burden with Galacta Knight now. Honestly the way I write them represents two opposite but equally influential sides of me. They...don't always agree.

"The Sailor and the Swordsman". The penultimate part of the "P.O.P.S.T.A.R." series, taking place between "Rocks Fall, Everyone Flies" and "Stray Like An Aro". Consists of two parts:

Snippets of the past and how Sailor Waddle Dee became Sailor and joined the Meta-Knights.

The present where he confronts/reconnects with his family, while struggling to decide where his loyalties lie. Meta Knight? His biological family? ...Does he really have to pick a side?

The Regalia’s Magnum Opus - Encaged

The sun rose high over the Bounty, breaking through the cloud cover.  Upon the island of Thavnair, a local dance troupe paid homage to the Mother of the Kriegstanz in the most apt manner: through a ritual of frenetic footwork and ringing blades.  While the spectacle alone was of no small matter, the true catalyst was the garments they wore - the billowing fabrics and vibrant colors lost in its own dance not unlike that of its wearers.

Locals and tourists alike gathered by the altar, equal parts mesmerized by the troupe's performance and their unique garb.  The Hippo Riders from Vanaspati halted their route to Svarna to behold the scene; one of the observant Arkasodara pointed out a certain crowned cloudkin perched atop the statue of Kadjaya.  Now noticing it had been spotted, the winged creature responded with a graceful swoop through a tunnel of parting chakrams, darting through the crowd before soaring into the clear heavens - in the direction of Radz-at-Han.

The captive audience then looked towards the center of the altar, gathering around what appeared to be a parcel containing a sizeable number of magazines, all in pristine condition.  Upon the cover was a slender female Hyur of the Midlander persuasion, wearing attire most dapper, sporting a dignified demeanor and a sly yet alluring countenance, standing before a lavish pleasure hall; a songbird encaged in mythril was seen beside her.  A beat passed as the crowd exchanged silent glares at one another, and before too long, an army of fashion faithful began marching down the Wakeful Torana, alerting the Radiant Host, only to be relieved by the response that was given when asked:

"The Regalia's latest issue has come!  The Bandee Pakshee Chayan!"

The marriage of two great businesses of Hannish origin - the Higuri Regalia & the Bandee Pakshee - have resulted in yet another breakthrough.  Created in secret over the past summer, they have brought forth a clothing line for all spectrums, from the daring to the risque, and has paved the way to new avenues - and new outlooks - of haute couture.   What lies beyond these precious pages - these velvety veils...?

For those who have the coin - or the good graces of the Diamond Sultan - and the thirst, the will, and the passion to embrace high fashion, one need only seek out the Higuri Regalia to acquire an issue.

Opening the catalogue's  contents, you would find a picture of the Diamond Sultan on the very first page, and a foreword on the other, undoubtedly by the aforementioned merchant-lord of fashion...

headcanon dump below. they probably aren’t super original but I :)

I also just wanna mention a thought I had: I suspect we will b seeing morpho knight in a main game storyline in the next game, since he was gonna appear in the Kirby GCN (I assume this means they had quite a bit of lore and stuff to go with him so they’ve had him prepared for a while). also consider: Kirby RtD was the replacement. The next few games where meta knight is fought, he has yellow eyes. Basically my theory is that they didn’t want to have two characters with white eyes (probably so there wasn’t any conflicting lore idk) so they just went and changed meta knight’s because they deemed that the most plausible option. this also could actually serve as more proof of morpho being much more important to the lore of the series, even aside from his supposed appearances as a butterfly. I bet he is gonna have something to do with the warp star (concept for Kirby GCN was that dedede stole Kirby’s warp star so morpho was somehow involved) - Most puffballs only have one or two abilities, or can broaden magic use through one ability (eg galacta Knight’s attacks, for example, are all used through the base sword ability however aren’t limited to that). - Kirby is unique as he has the copy ability (which counts as one ability in itself rather than hundreds). it’s an almost legendary ability with no other recorded holders. Special baby boy.

- Although puffballs do have to consume a lot of food to deal with being partly composed of potent magic (as well as using it), Kirby has to consume sooo much more. he’s not a glutton (as the books describe), he is just hungry almost all of the time because he’s always beating the shit out of eldritch beings. The novels annoyed me so much with this aspect of Kirby!!!!!! he’s not that shallow!!! baby boy is just trying to physically cope with being able to slap the shit out of cult gods!!!

- Kirby’s copy ability works by basically inhaling an object/opponent with a specific magic signature, then concentrating it into a strengthened version of that ability Kirby can then utilise (hence his “infinite power”). - Kirby can’t deal with immense amounts of magic for a long period of time, as it also uses his own magic/energy up in the process. This is why normal copy abilities are fine for an extended period of time, and the super copy abilities have a time limit on them. (This is also why he can’t just go inhale void termina or some shit bc he would probably end up imploding. it’s also why the crash ability is single use)

- The super abilities basically involve Kirby combining a small amount of his own energy with the magic signature of the ability, and then concentrating it, producing a much stronger version of the original ability. Kirby probably ended up putting in a much larger amount of his own energy when trying to defeat magolor. (Ultra sword go brr)

- Puffballs eventually get wings at some stage in their life. They usually get them after a few hundred years but they can appear early if conditions are bad enough. Kirby’s will probably be feathered. I think the lore of the series will benefit from having two pink puffballs with feathered wings. pls also note the halberd mode robobot armour has softer looking wings, and the visor Kirby has on the star allies sparkler has little wings on the side of it.

- Meta Knight and king dedede did eventually get over their rivalry with Kirby. The events of KRtD were definitely a big part of it, and by the end of it they were probably pretty good friends. They both realised Kirby was way too strong for either of them to beat, and did have Dreamland’s interests in mind. Since Kirby is also only a kid they also felt compelled to act more adult-like, rather than trying to beat the shit out of a child.

- After the events of KRtD, king dedede basically invited Kirby, mk, and bandee to the castle for an overnight stay, since everyone was exhausted by the end of the ordeal. Although breakfast the following morning was tense at first, Dedede basically explained he wanted to formally end any rivalry he had with Kirby, and encouraged meta knight to do the same.Meta Knight still secretly wanted to beat Kirby at least once but the events of both planet robobot and star allies probably ruined it for him

- King dedede is actually a fairly competent leader, despite mainly just being a representative for dreamland as a whole. It did take him a while to grow into his role, but after he let go of his rivalry with Kirby he really settled in. He’s generally pretty placid on most days, and plays a lot of board games with the dees.King dedede invites bandee, Kirby, and mk for morning tea/lunch every now and then. The castle kitchen usually has to prepare at very least a day in advance to accomodate Kirby’s appetite.

- Kirby isn’t allowed more than 3 cups of tea or half a cup of weak coffee. the first time ddd ever invited Kirby for tea he did not consider how Kirby would respond to any amount of caffeine.

- Kirby is probably closest with mk, especially since Kirby knows mk looks very similar to him. He doesn’t ask mk about it though, as he sees that’s a very personal question.

- Mk acts as more of a very uninvolved father figure/mentor, mainly since Kirby is pretty independent and can defend himself.

- He regularly trains Kirby with the sword ability. Meta Knight used to originally do this to try and memorise Kirby��s attack patterns given that they may fight again in the future, but, as mentioned before, doesn’t do this anymore. He feels guilty about it.

-Meta Knight taught Kirby how to read. Kirby is a fairly proficient reader, although he likes to read cooking books the most because of all the pictures.

-Kirby is good at cooking, even without the copy ability.

- Meta Knight owns what could be considered a small library. Kirby is allowed to borrow a book or two for about a week at a time. He is forbidden from the horror section due to the one time where he accidentally chose a particularly scary one and wouldn’t leave castle dedede for a week.

-Kirby doesn’t speak in poyo. I don’t have much else to say on this. -Kirby can be a little shit on very rare occasions. Dedede tried to prank Kirby once by getting him to eat a very very spicy curry. Unbeknownst to dedede at the time, Kirby has a very high heat tolerance, and would probably have to eat something more than 1 million on the Scoville scale to actually feel distress. Kirby noticed that it was unusually hot, and that dedede was watching him intently. He pretended it wasn’t spicy at all, then persuaded dedede to try it.

-Dedede does not have a heat tolerance anywhere near as high as Kirby’s.

Hello! I just discovered your roleswap comic and I'm eating it up, it's so gooooooood. I don't really ship MetaDede personally, but good gods the way you write them bickering and bantering and the near sync when shit gets serious makes me wanna scream in excitement ekdvsiehrhr

Absolutely my favorite part of the swap. It just makes me crave for an actual Bandana Dee boss fight that actually does him justice. (also the Prince of Dreams/Beasts title itches something in my heart really well)

I'm not sure if it was intentional or if you even know who I'm talking about, but giving Bandana Dee a Scythe at some point (plus some wind abilities) really reminds me of General Gong the Hawkeye from Patapon, what with the whole high-ranking, scythe wielding, wind-adjacent thing. Probably just a coincidence tho, but I personally love it!

Hello there!! Oh my goodness, what a wonderful ask, thank you so much for telling me all of this! As a person who thrives on Words of Affirmation, these types of comments mean absolutely everything to me. <3

If I may go on a tangent about the shipping thing because I'm glad you brought that up. It's a huge complement to hear you say that because-

The Roleswap comic is not a story about romance. But it is about love.

While I am a personal lover of metadede and it fueled my initial creation of this story, I want to take the Roleswap AU in a different direction from a story that's focuses on a ship where "the main characters act the way they do because they are in love or a couple." A "partnership" like theirs can possibly be interpreted as a build up to a romance. But it doesn't have to be! So there's no blatantly romantic interactions anywhere in this story like what may be found in my non-Roleswap, specifically metadede labeled content (Like kisses, confessions of love, etc.).

Dedede and Meta do love each other, like the other protagonists of Kirby love each other. Kirby, Bandana Dee, all the other Waddle Dees, the Meta-Knights, and the friends they've made over the years. The love between many of them has developed over the entire series! They've all come a long way from fighting each other to trusting one another and even having fun together!

I see the love between the Kirby protagonists as one where they care about and want the best for each other. They may not always understand the other's thoughts and motivations. But they respect them and learn to complement each other's differences. They protect each other in battle. They grow together and learn to bring out the best in each other.

So how could two very different and powerful authority figures like Dedede and Meta come together to save their friends and family, and navigate a huge world and an unknown conflict together? That's the main question I want to present in this story.

Whatever the interpretation of the King and Knight's relationship a reader may have, I'm most happy about the fact that this comic has readers!!!

Anyway!! Back to your ask! :D

Primal Bandana Dee means a lot to me too! The only reason this comic exists is because I also wanted a cool boss fight for him, and I had just finished playing Forgotten Land for the first time. It all just branched out from there. I wish I could just spill everything I have planned for him, but alas! I have a story with a set order to tell! I will say that if anyone is worried about not seeing him until the Winter Horns area, that he will make appearances before that. Just stay tuned!

And hey. This is an AU of an existing story. We know how the canon ending went already. To keep things interesting I have to include some surprises in my version down the line somewhere, right? ;)

I also haven't heard of Patapon so the resemblance between General Gong and Bandee is a coincidence! I did look it up and General Gong looks cool!! I respect scythe wielders, haha. Thanks for telling me! If this is a game I have the ability to play it could be fun to check it out!

New Roleswap update is coming soon! I feel bad that it's been about a month and I left it on a bit of a cliffhanger. But my personal and work life is slowing down enough for me to make more progress on the next pages! Our heroes will get out of the underground tunnel soon! :O

Hey, can I see what your other Kirby ships look like?

Hahaha I'm going to be totally real, there really aren't a lot of other Kirby ships I actively think about other than metadede-!! -u-'

I don't know what it is, but that particular ship just happened to scratch an itch in my brain I didn't know I had lol. And I only really started shipping it around a year and a half ago! A King and a knight who have worked together through the ages and both have really interesting and different personalities and likes and dislikes... I have a lot of fun with them! I never thought I'd ever gain the confidence to regularly produce and share ship content on any platform. So I was happily surprised and grateful to find a little corner on the internet here to share my thoughts on them with willing readers haha.

Other than that.... I don't have a strict list of ships I stick to! I feel like I keep saying this kind of thing, but in most cases I get more enjoyment seeing other people's interpretations of ships more than producing them myself! The Kirby universe is rich with characters and a wonderful space to explore character interactions and relationships with each other (platonic or romantic or otherwise!)

I mean, I know everyone interprets Kirby character ages differently which is also cool and all! I just have my own set of established headcanons that I've been slowly cultivating since I got introduced to the series 15 or so years ago.

I personally see characters like Kirby, Bandee, the other Waddle Dees, Ribbon, Adeleine, Gooey, Prince Fluff, Elfilin, etc. as children. They're powerful and brave and very unique from each other, but still kids in my eyes.

And then there's the characters like Dedede, Meta Knight, Queen Ripple, Daroach, Hyness, etc. that are characterized definitively as adults. And other characters like Magolor, Taranza, Susie, the Mage Sisters, etc. that might be interpreted differently by different people, at least from what I have personally seen! (But I see them as adults, personally)

Again this is all my personal opinion haha. I quietly stay away from ships that mix characters from my personal child and adult categories above- (which are not exhaustive lists because this post would be ten million words if I tried to list every single Kirby character, and are my personal characterizations and not me trying to impose my views as the one, canon interpretation!).

OC x Canon is also enjoyable in my book as long as the ages and dynamics are appropriate and consensual for both parties :)

And I don't need or want to make a list of everything I stay away from or anything. I don't feel that strongly about it. I guess my biggest personal example is that if someone ships Metakirby or Dedekirby (or their respective mirror versions), I'm not going to enjoy or support that no matter what their creator's justifications/reasonings for shipping those are. I'm just going to stay away from that ardently.

Anyway, I'm not trying to be controversial or say my opinion is fact either! These are just my personal thoughts and feelings and I curate my internet experience accordingly. My interests change all the time, I just enjoy seeing character interactions and stories written with love and passion!

....If I had to pick another ship that I like thinking about, I guess I'd pick Magoranza. It's fun to think about how they'd interact with each other, and sometimes I like to think of Magolor and Taranza as Garak and Bashir from Star Trek hehehe.

TL;DR: At the time of writing this post I only like creating metadede content for Kirby ships but I quietly enjoy a variety of other people's ships.

Feels like part of Bandana’s motivation to find the beast pack was because he was lonely and just slowly spiraling as he was searching for his king and his friends, so just finding a group that seemed to offer comfort and protection got him to let his guard down enough before he was brainwashed (context, I’m tired and thinking about things too much rn)

I am in no position to confirm or deny any part of this theory but I figured you’d want to share it with more people since you took the time to write this!

King Dedede + Reader

Planet Popstar was the most beautiful planet in Gamble Galaxy, possibly the entire universe- so you heard. You didn’t know many other planets. But living in Dreamland, the prettiest place in all of Popstar, proved to you how that statement could be very true. Clouds swirling in the ever-blue sky, rainbows doing loop-de-loops, which they can apparently do in a magical place like the planet Popstar, water so pure and clean it looked like flowing crystal, and the fact that every day was sunny, and, more importantly, that every night was filled with pleasant dreams. You were truly lucky to live there.

One person of many to have the honor and strength to protect this beautiful land was the king of it himself, King Dedede, who you were close friends with. That wasn’t anything that made you special since he was friends with most people! You knew that, but that wasn’t why you were friends with him of course!

One sunny (like always) day, you were sitting at a picnic table, waiting for said friend to show up. He was a bit late, which was fair because he had waddle dees to watch over, Bandee to supervise, and Meta Knight to train with as sworn partners. Gosh, he really was cool, wasn’t he?

Soon, he came over with a hearty grin and a cheery “What’s up?” to you, and you waved him over to your hangout. 

You answered him, “I’m doing pretty well, thanks!” You pulled out your Nintendo Switch- “Wanna play this new game I got recently? It’s called Animal Crossing: New Horizons!” (Disclaimer: The author has never played that game)

“Sure!” He said, and sat down next to you. The two of you each had a joycon and played 2-player Animal crossing for a while. He kept getting stung by bees, but you still had fun.

You eventually began to feel sleepy. The sun was going to set soon. You began to nod off, but stopped yourself in time to not fall on his robe. Dedede noticed. 

“Tuckered out?” 

You barely managed to say through the sleepiness, “Yeah.”

“C’mere.”

With that, he pulled you in and draped you in his soft, warm robe. You couldn’t stay awake after that, it was too comforting. You weren’t conscious when it happened, but after you fell asleep, the king carried you back to your house, hand on the back of your head and cradling you like a baby with his strong arms.

Another Elfilin + Reader

It was a boring day at your humble abode. The tv was humming in the background, displaying nothing that could grab your attention. You were laying down on the sofa, doing nothing. Not even the good kind of nothing, just the sickening boredom kind of nothing. You hoped one of your good friends would make a surprise visit, but that was wishful thinking. You wouldn’t call anyone over either, your phone was too far away and you were too lazy to get it.

Piercing through the tv static in your mind, the doorbell rang. Perked up by the new thing that happened, you lost your laziness and went to the door.

On the other side of the door, there was Elfilin, excitedly holding a piece of paper in his paws. “Whatcha got there?” You asked. He gave you the paper and waited eagerly for you to read it.

Dear Elfilin,

You’re invited to a dance party at Castle Dedede happening on (today’s date in one hour)! You do have to bring a dance partner though. This can be anyone you like- a family member, a friend, and I guess also a romantic partner would be fine too. Any outfit is okay. I hope to see you there!

“Are you asking me to be your dance partner?” You had to make sure, didn’t wanna assume.

“Yes, I am!” He proudly nodded. “It’s in one hour, but you can go in the outfit you’re wearing now, so don’t worry!”

“Sure!”

One hour later, the two of you showed up at king dedede’s ballroom, which was nicely decorated for the occasion. Bright multicolored lights, a dj table being manned by several waddle dees, a disco ball, and a lot of neon-colored balloons made the area very funky. The lights were turned down low except for the colored ones meant to be at a dance party, though. Loud techno music filled the whole room, just the way you liked it!

You and Elfilin stepped onto the flashing panels on the dance floor, where a lot of other people were already enjoying themselves. Adeline and Ribbon joined hands and spun in a circle, Meta Knight and King Dedede did a graceful waltz despite the unfitting music, and Kirby and Bandee were doing the patented Kirby dance. Clawroline and Leongar were dance partners too, Clawroline did a show stopping acrobatic dance while Leongar mostly just cheered her on.

You took Elfilin’s little paws in your fingers and moved them up and down, and when that got boring, you held him up and spun him in a circle. He seemed to like that, he held tight to your hands and giggled! You let him go, making sure he would levitate on his own when you did, then did a little freestyle to show off. He did the nae-nae in retaliation. You cheered and clapped for him!

Just as Elfilin was doing a celebratory bow, the room shook. Busting out of the wall came Sillydillo, with its homemade dance partner in its arms. It spun around with it, careening onto the dance floor and breaking everything in sight! Everyone ran away screaming, including you and your psychic chinchilla buddy, who you grabbed out of the air and ran with to hopefully leave before the building collapsed. 

“It’s not doing this on purpose,” he nervously clarified. “It just doesn’t know it’s so dangerous!” “Got it.” You dashed to and fro, looking for a way to escape. You yelped, a chunk of ceiling had fallen in front of you, right where you were about to be if you hadn’t stopped in time! You looked around with your heart dropping to see that you were surrounded on all sides by piles of rubble that were too high to climb over fast enough. You were trapped!

Elfilin, pressed against your chest, heard your heart beat fast with your panic. He thought fast and opened a portal with his spatial transportation abilities, and you ran through it without a second thought.

On the other side, you watched the castle fall while the king muttered “Happens all the time.” with an unamused expression. Miraculously, everyone had made it out of the place. Leongar rushed to the ruins to see if Sillydillo was alright, and also to yell at him if he was. You looked to your side and Elfilin looked back simultaneously. Then you just laughed with each other. It was an exciting day!
