[ad_1] GG News Bureau Bengaluru, 30th Oct. The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday granted interim bail to actor Darshan Thoogudeepa due to medical grounds, allowing him to undergo necessary spine surgery. The 47-year-old actor, who was arrested on June 11, is currently incarcerated at Ballari prison. Darshan is one of the accused in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case, alongside his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 others. While Pavithra is detained in a Bengaluru prison, the other co-accused are spread across various jails in the state, with some having recently secured bail. Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty, presiding over the case, approved Darshan’s interim bail for six weeks specifically for medical treatment. The court imposed several conditions, including the surrender of his passport to the trial court and an order prohibiting him from tampering with evidence. Darshan is allowed to choose the hospital for his treatment and must provide the court with a health report detailing his condition, required treatment, and follow-up care within a week. The court’s decision followed detailed arguments presented by Darshan’s legal representative, senior advocate C.V. Nagesh, alongside the state public prosecutor, P. Prasanna Kumar. During the hearing, the state submitted medical reports in a sealed cover from doctors at Ballari Central Prison and the Head of the Department of Neurology at a government hospital in Ballari. Darshan’s initial bail application, submitted on September 21, had been denied by a sessions court, prompting him to appeal to the High Court. The murder case revolves around the victim, 33-year-old Renukaswamy, who was reportedly a fan of Darshan. Allegedly, after sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, Darshan’s friend, tensions escalated, leading to Renukaswamy’s murder. His body was discovered near a stormwater drain adjacent to an apartment in Sumanahalli on June 9. According to police investigations, Raghavendra, a member of Darshan’s fan club from Chitradurga, lured Renukaswamy to a shed in R. R. Nagar under the pretense that the actor wanted to meet him. It was there that he was purportedly tortured and ultimately murdered. The post-mortem report indicated that Renukaswamy died from shock and hemorrhage due to multiple blunt force injuries. Authorities have identified Pavithra as the primary instigator in the murder, asserting that she conspired with the other accused and played a pivotal role in the crime. via Today Bharat nbsp; Janaradhana Reddyrsquo;s aide Mehfuz Ali Khan is said to have mediated the deal with Ambidant owner Syed Fareed Khan on behalf of the mining baron. Mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy's aide Mehfuz Ali Khan surrendered before a magistrate court in Bengaluru after a sessions court cancelled his bail on Tuesday. He was remanded to judicial custody till November 27. Mehfuz has been accused of receiving Rs 18 crore in gold from the owners of Ambidant Marketing Pvt Ltd, a financial firm accused of cheating investors on behalf of Janardhana Reddy. Investigators believe that questioning Mehfuz will provide details of the role played by Janardhana Reddy in helping Ambidant owner Syed Fareed Ahmed Khan in covering up an alleged ponzi scheme, as per a report by The New Indian Express. Syed Fareed Ahmed is currently under the Central Crime Branch's (CCB) scanner for allegedly perpetuating a ponzi scheme in the pretence of 'Islamic Banking' and cheating investors to the tune of Rs 500 crore. When CCB officials arrested Syed, he claimed that he had paid Janardhana Reddy Rs 20 crore including Rs 18 crore worth of gold in exchange for help in covering up the scam. Janardhana Reddy had allegedly helped Syed from being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) by bribing officials, as per The Hindu. Mehfuz is said to have mediated the deal on behalf of Janardhana Reddy. The mining baron, who was also a BJP minister in the past, was granted bail earlier this month as there was no evidence directly linking him to the cover-up of the scam. He was earlier arrested for money laundering and bribery in connection with the case. The bail for Janardhana Reddy came as a relief to the controversial former minister. He was earlier released from jail in 2015 after nearly four years for his alleged role in the illegal mining scam in Ballari that led to the downfall of the first BJP government in Karnataka. nbsp;

via Today Bharat nbsp; Ballarirsquo;s mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy has been arrested on Sunday in a bribery case in Bengaluru. Former BJP Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy on Saturday appeared for questioning at the crime branch office in Bengaluru, in connection with an alleged bribery case. Before appearing in front of CBI, Reddy posted a video message on YouTube and claimed that said he was not on the run. He also rubbished the reports of being in Hyderabad. ldquo;Now that the notice has been issued by the police, I have decided to appear before the Central Crime Branch today itself though the notice says I should appear on Sunday,rdquo; Mr Reddy said in the video. ldquo;I decided to make this video to let people know the truth. I have faith in the police and believe that they would not succumb to any political pressure,rdquo; he added. It is to be noted that Gali Janardhan Reddy, a former BJP minister, had been missing for the last three days. He is facing multiple charges of corruption. He has spent three years in jail and has been out on bail since 2015. The owner of a private enterprise, the Ambident Group, has alleged that during his days as minister, Janardhan Reddy had demanded Rs 18 crore from him, promising to bail him out of a corruption case. The money was paid to a close aide. The company which deals with finance already has a case of Rs 600 crore registered against it and also has been accused of cheating several of its investors. The owner of the company Syed Ahmed Fareed, on being interrogated by the police, said that Janardhan had assured his help during their meeting at a private hotel in Bengaluru. Fareed further disclosed that he paid Rs 18 crore through his firm to a bullion trader in Bengaluru named Ramesh Kothari. Kothari, then had the amount converted into 57 kg gold which was then given to Ali khan, who is close to Janardhan. Bengaluru Police chief T Sunil Kumar said that they are in the lookout for both Janardhan and Khan, who are missing. There is also a case of money laundering against Janardhan during his daughterrsquo;s wedding in November last year. Somashekhara and G Karunakara Reddyndash;two of Janardhanrsquo;s brothers, represented the BJP in the areas surrounding Ballari in the recently held Karnataka assembly elections.
