Does your OC judge themselves by the same standards as they apply to others? Or are they sometimes hypocritical in condemning others for faults they also possess? Or perhaps they find it easier to forgive others for things that they cannot abide in themselves?

Kiet pretty much just holds himself and everyone else to 'Have fun. Do good.' However, he does set himself a little higher. If he sees someone doing something he wouldn't do, depending on the thing, he most likely would shrug and move on. Everyone has their own story. Can't judge them on a single action or word.

Might help a person struggling or might not. Might catch a thief or might not. Simple things like these, he just doesn't hold judgment. He just has a 'you do you' attitude.

He does have standards on some things, though... he'll judge you hard for like... taking candy from a child. Oh, he'll still take a candy from you if you offered... but he would judge you hard for how it was obtained. .... now if he gives it back to the child... that is dependant on the candy... or the child. No candy for rude children.

(Probably poor example of his standards... but eh.. it was the easiest to come up with.)

As for faults... again... everyone has a story and a fault in one can be a blessing in another. So he sees it.

Bonus:

Baldr judges everyone hard, including himself.... especially himself since he has to be the moral compass of his voidsent turned brother. His brother, Hodr, however... can do no wrong in his eyes. (But he still gotta chastise him when he does do wrong.)

Baldr appreciates deep meaning gestures. Things that show trust or that the other pays attention to things he likes... and gifts of food. You want him on your good side? Prove you mean him no harm and also offer him food. He is a big foodie. ~MK

This boy? Enthusiastic? He hasn't had much to be enthusiastic about. I guess what can count is

Food. Any mention of food will have him visibly showing less grumpy. He'll be the first to the table if he can.

The prospect that he will be able to help his brother, Hodr. Having a voidsent for a brother isn't exactly easy. Baldr has never lost hope that his brother can be returned, strengthened by the fact that even as a giant bat like voidsent, Hodr has protected him all these years. Little steps.

As a sniper before his home world got turned upside down, Baldr has always been keen on sharpening his skills. So, if you can earn his trust and respect, he is enthusiastic about giving a tip here and there or chatting about different techniques. Anything on survival is sure fire way to get him to listen intently to you as well and offer his own thoughts.

Sybil's biggest secret? He has a few I think. The biggest is probably that his soul isn't new or an Ancient, but belonging to a familiar jointly made by two Ancients together for a specific purpose. He wasn't sundered per say, but he was reborn and his memories of that time did slowly return with each rejoining. Hence his nightmares of the End times (though he didn't know them as such at first). Just fires and darkness and dread.

Baldr Headcanons

His ears are expressive.

When he is comfortable and knows he is safe, he WILL bunny flop onto a bed.

He is aro/ace.

When he is itching to do something, he is often tapping his foot.

His class is actually that of a Viera Sniper from other games. Very rarely when he has to fight close combat, he will use a conjured scythe as a reaper.

He is a very light sleeper and yes... has some dark circles.

1: Florentel Valeriant {Coeurl}

Born into a lesser noble house that serves House Haillenarte, his family specializes in making/selling candles and wax seals as well as offering their lives as knights for the greater house. His family consists of his mother and two older brothers. Probably because of being weakened for birthing twins a few years earlier, Camille Valeriant had a rough time with Florentel’s birth, with the young Ishgardian almost dieing at birth. Due to this, he had a weaker body and it took him much more effort to become a knight like his deceased father. After meeting his future husband, Sorrel, and being awed by the other man’s strength he left Ishgard to join Sorrel’s party for adventures and to get stronger.... now knowing what REALLY awaited him. Goes by ‘Ren’ most the time. Owns a small with Sorrel in LB and has an apartment in Ishgard. (This precious bean is my Azem.)

2 and 3: Sybil Kepesk and Irisvir Kepesk {Mateus}

The Kepesk siblings from the Steppe. Part of the Malaguld tribe until they chose to explore the world. Their father is a Raen who had fled doma, and having been found by the Malaguld tribe injured by beasts, he joined them. Later he met a dazkar that stole his heart, and luckily she was fine with leaving her tribe to marry him. As such, Sybil grew up helping care for his little sister Irisvir, from cooking to sewing torn holes in her clothing. He can go from ‘family man’ to ‘serious and deadly’ if needed. Irisvir is full of wonderlust, hence when she wanted to leave the Steppe, he went with to protect her. In Eorzea, they met a Duskwight Paladin, Abela Anselm, who later became Sybil’s wife. They became adventurers. (Technically pseudo WOL/WODs. Different world/universe than Florentel. Sorrel is Sybil and Abela’s son. Due to certain circumstances, Sorrel had to world hop. ) Sybil has a small in Ishgard and Irisvir has her FC, Falling Snows (owned by Abela, Sybil's wife), in Ishgard as well.

4 and 5: Baldr and Hodr Alfgeir {Coeurl}

Originally residents of the 13th shard. Due to intervention of an Ascian (Friend’s OC), Baldr was saved and shielded from the corruption with a contract to his voidsent turned little brother until a portal allowed them to slip through to Eorzea. Tricking the Ascian, Baldr managed to return Hodr back to his original form, albeit fluctuating between voidsent form when in battle and with a consciousness that fluctuates just as much. At least they are there for each other and Hodr can stay sane/in normal form if he is careful.

6: Kazeninotte Hanabira {Coeurl}

The daughter of Irisvir and G’raha. Hence she has fluff going down the top of her scaled tail that ends in a puff. Kinda like an asian dragon’s tail. She is a free spirit who loves to dance. She just goes about doing her own thing. Literally. She travels around as a performer, dancing for gil. Occasionally she will help out in a battle or two. She loves swimming and seafood. Out of one of her spur of the moment choices, she followed Sorrel and is now stuck in Florentel’s timeline. Not that it matters... because she just does her own thing.

7: Loifa {Halicarnassus} (Loifa Brighteyes in game)

NPC from the Sage quests. His story begins after the quests. More to be edited in later.

8: Janlenoux Courcillant {Diabolos} (Ser Janlenoux in game)

Knights Heavensward NPC. Canon divergant. Lives with Adelphel with fake identities in Gridania. Owns a cozy little small in LB.

9-? I have more but these are my lovelies that I focus on more. I decided to limit the maximum number of characters on here to make it easier on me.

So I got Baldr through the 6.0 msq (3 down... ? Characters to go) ... not in his Canon classes because I find healing easier for that trial... but I did take screenies before the trial on the back of you know who.

Love the curiosity! I shall reward with plenty of characters under the cut.

I always have an amused snort with this one. Practical and stubborn, Janlenoux actively avoided it even when it fell into his lap (sometimes literally). Took him years and almost dieing... to finally accept it and listen to his own heart. Now he is currently engaged to Adelphel.

Baldr actively doesn't care. The only love he cares about is family and friends. Romance... is just something he doesn't feel. However, he loves teasing the lovebirds of his friend group.

Hodr on the other hand, though he doesn't actively seek it out, does want it to fall into his lap... or rather he fall into theirs. Hope whoever captures his heart is careful though... he comes with a bite.

I dont even know with this one. Kazeninotte dances around in my head like she has free range. Does whatever she wants. Hmm, if I really try to pinpoint it, I would say she is a mix of both. Let's fate decide if that person enters her life... and when she has her sight on them, she will pounce.

Loifa is a 'love has to fall on his lap because he is dense and would never think to look' kind of person. His head is filled with nothing but cureing his friends. He is very much a one track mind.

Irisvir activity looked for it. Poor G'raha stood no chance in getting away.

Aruktai didn't need to look for it nor was he actively looking. As a Goro and demiromantic, he was fine with his horse wife... but love fell directly on his lap in the form of a very mischievous, crazy, albino Raen named Otome. He knew instantly when she started to like him... and honestly, he found himself growing more fond of her anyways so he just let it be. He of course thought it was just that... fondness. Their friends knew otherwise. Otome thought otherwise and confessed in a way that had him trying hard not to laugh, in a good way, and realizing his real feelings. She had research Goro ways and made a ballet box filled with papers of only her name, and held it out to him with no explanation. Everyone else was confused, Aruk just found it endearing... and promptly picked her up and carried her away so they can talk away from everyone else.

Ingrained habits/forces of habit

Florentel has a few. First is that he hides behind his hair a lot when shy and embarrassed. He also tends to flick his hair out of the way with a jerk of his head when he is proud of something he has done. Also, if he is home back in Ishgard, he tends to immedietly walk into his brother's office and start on the piles of neglected paperwork. If Ren catches sight of Nolanel, he pulls his brother by the ear to the office to do it. Unknown to him, his eyes do drift to his husband a lot when they aren't doing anything serious.

Baldr also has a few. His ears tend to flick in conversations, and sometimes move towards the direction of voices to listen better. Sometimes his nose twitches... and he tends to sniff people on meeting them. His foot taps when he is annoyed. He sleep really lightly, a habit from trying to survive in the void. But... if he knows a place is safe and he is content, he will literally bunny flop onto the bed. Baldr also tends to scarf down any food and yes... he will eat archon loaf... and will also let down his guard about a person a little if offered any food.

Kiet has a habit of relaxing in random places. He can be cloud watching on a person's roof... or asleep under a tree... or even just on top of a wall looking at the people below. Anywhere. Anything to not being doing any kind of work. Tries to be as lazy as possible... even if that means doing a bunch of work to get to a place someone won't find him to ask to do something.

Skadi has a tendency to do hard thumps with her foot when she is mad. When she is in a bed, no matter what, she will end up hugging the pillow... or pillows. Otherwise, you can find her asleep at her desk or on a cot. A bad habit she has... is she drinks... and also flirts with any man she thinks it would be fun to do so.

1: Looks. JK. Serious answer, I love his love language. Small little things. The not moving away when friends petting his ears. The bashful grumpy face when complimented. The light teasing he gives or offering a bite of his food. Tiny little things that shows how he cares for his friends and brother.

2: Hmm.. what I hate... his accent I tried to do when I first made him to show he came from the 13th and not the source. Hated it so much I scrapped it.

Hodr

1: I love his laid back, living in the moment attitude. He takes life slowly so that he can fully take advantage to enjoy it. Stop and smell the flowers type of person.

2: What I hate most is trying to write him. I have the general idea of how I want his personality to be but I can't shakes the feeling that it is a bit off from how he looks. He keeps trying to be the older brother when he is the younger one. Lol

Loifa

1: His loyalty to his friends and being secretly soft.

2: Not having enough quests and having to fill in the blanks on how to write him. He has more lore/cutscenes than Janlenoux did but I seem to have a harder time with Loifa. I just need to buckle down and solidify my version of him.
