Volteg has two games with the Shinsengumi in it and in both Yamanami is so handsome and totally my type but he’s not dateable in any of them and it’s just driving me up the walls.

Praise Otomate for finally letting Sannan get his route, dammit. I don’t see ANY OTHER SHINSENGUMI OTOME DO THIS. WHY THOUGH. Is it because he died too soon? Like, IIRC he dies even before they offed Ryouma, so I guess maybe that’s why, but...

I seriously cannot wait.

This seems to be like a new Voltage game. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s called Bakumatsu Ishin Amakakeru Koi.

I saw Sakamoto Ryoma, and started getting flashbacks. I love the Bakumatsu period. Yes, my interest began because of Hakuouki, but it expanded from there. I also learned a lot by watching the NHK drama Yae no Sakura. It’s one of my favorite time periods aside from Sengoku.

I have a history crush on Hijikata Toshizo, but I’m not really digging his design in this game. But, I can definitely get behind Takasugi Shinsaku.😆 This looks interesting, though. I hope it gets translated to English soon.

I kind of gave up on Bakuten because I got overloaded juggling too many games. But I decided to check in on it today and wow, anniversary art is up!

I was thinking that I don’t play Bakuten regularly enough so I’ve never seen Saitou Hajime yet, and I went looking for what he looks like (since the designs are kinda wild LMAO)

Well... he’s the one on the right with that blue hair streak.

*SCREECHING* And Okita and Hijikata had looked pretty normal too... Sannan as well... 

Bakuten’s NPC designs are kinda wildly punk sometimes, I don’t get it LOL... With Tenka/SLBP even if they have anime technicolour hair they don’t have this kind of hair streak dye jobs. Shinpachi with pink side hair and undercut like a character from school gang thug manga... 

And there was this other guy whose kimono was styled to look like a hoodie, like, bro, Volteg, what is your artist doing LMAO

About love and deep space, Ayakoi, Bakuten, Love palace mirpri Jp (voltage inc apps)

Currently I have finally gottn the hang of playing the Japanese version apps with premium translator. Ho man, I have only opted for monthly subscription so.. I have gone broke but I will invest soon and get a lifetime subscription

Anyway I am loving playing these games. Dirk route is my absolute favourite right now and definitely I cannot get enough of Yoshinobu (Bakuten)... I am loving both the guys so much... They are both so splendid, I lack words to explain

In the future I will soon be playing koga sequel. I know the development takes time but I am surprised they have a finally completed releasing the remaining episodes only now... How many years has it been since I last checked into this app...

Anywhere I will also be reading aizen route finally

Coming to makai nightmare, Lance book 2 was released. I will not be playing the Japanese version because we will most likely get the updates in the English app. Maybe someday they will bring Bakuten as well but, I was really impatient lol

Some thugs Shinsengumi/Miburoushi/whatever members promoting Hijikata’s route in Bakuten

There’s no names yet, they’re only labelled as “Unknown Person 1, 2, 3″. I’m just making a very educated guess, but I’m about 90% certain about Yamanami/Sannan being correct. Historically he’s being described as “very gentle” in legitimate records, so... 

Volteg I wanna cry, why do you always make him so pretty and then never give him route. He’s so handsome in the Era of Samurai paid game in Love365 too huhu :(

When taking orders at the geisha house, MC got roped in to help. It was a big mess. She does now learn that even a glamorous-looking tayuu is not necessarily living a good life.

A few days later Katsu is hanging out at her place again. He somehow managed to get on ma’s good side so she’s like “Welcome welcome”, much to MC’s annoyance.

He tells her that way back when they first met he already knew she’s a tailor and wanted to introduce her to do tailoring for the geisha house. Not to make her be a geisha. The shop owner and Katsu were just trolling, but it’s really not a good time and place to joke about selling people so of course MC is scared to death.

Katsu I like you, but I will kick you in the face for it.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOooo Voltage is making another Bakumatsu game, this time it seems to be a social app (like SLBP and Court of Darkness). There’s a whopping 12 men to date, and maybe more if NPCs get upgraded too LOL. 

This one is a split of New Government patriots and the bakufu people, so ay, equal opportunity for fairness. But it looks like they’ll be focusing more on the New Government side, because the main guy in the poster is Sakamoto Ryouma. The other two on the right are Takasugi and Ookubo. 

The one with fancy robes I thought is the shogun, but it isn’t. Shogun Yoshinobu looks like this: 

He seems nice, unlike the nasty blond in KoiBaku... I think I like :3 

This blondie is Sanjou Sanetomi, and I totally have absolutely no idea who that is. I did a quick search and TL;DR he is a supporter of the anti shogunate side. Well, I guess we’re main-ing THAT side of the fight this time?

Shallow comments on the Bakuten characters because pretty boys

This boy looks like a less baby version of Tenka Mitsunari, look at him. I know it’s probably just because Obligatory Voltage Style, but still. Ookubo Toshimichi sounds like someone who isn’t the most pleasant man historically, guess that’s why he looks like this. 

Mildly interested in Katsu Kaishuu. He looks so fluffy!

Hijikata is always Hijikata... I like his hair. I know Hakuouki popularized the silky long hair look, but I like him better with somewhat-wavy hair. 

*me frantically Googling the names I’ve never heard of* This one is Iwakura Tomomi. He’s important too, and maybe more in-depth work mentions him, but he’s not usually in the common Bakumatsu otome titles.

The artist for Bakuten (Voltage’s upcoming Bakumatsu game) is Shirosaki Saya! This person has been in charge of the art for Star Crossed Myth’s Department of Punishments (SCM has 2 different artists for Punishment and Wishes)

I actually had the idea for a while, but can’t decide which version of Hijikata to use. But since there’s now a Voltage Hijikata it’s a good crossover opportunity LOL

Well, there IS already another Hijikata in the Code of Love paid app, but this one is a fellow social app like ARR/Ayakoi so it fits better 

Also more Actual Canon Crossover opportunity (Voltage does a lot of crossover with other social games, be it their own games or other companies’ games)
