The artist Abbas Almusawi, a famous Bahraini artist, born in Bahrain 1952, He has a diploma from the higher Institute for teachers in Bahrain – Art Education, also a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Egypt.

How the artist gets into art?

The artist Abbas Almusawi lived in an artistic, cultural and literary house. He was the father of an artist, photographer and poet. This resulted from the presence of books and paintings, which made his house semi-museum, next to it facing in Al-Naeem area. All these factors contributed to the establishment of the artist Abbas Almusawi, in addition to the presence of talent where The artist Abbas Almusawi says that the absence of talent makes it difficult for the artist. The artist Abbas Al-Musawi says “that the most beautiful message he can convey is the beauty of nature, and it must be preserved, along the ancient markets, and Bahraini people with their simple way of life, as well as the ancient heritage of Bahrain and others”.

Artist Abbas Al-Musawi says that work, seriousness, study, daily practice and expansion of ideas are the factors that contributed to the development of his work.

“if you love a work, continue to do it and be creative in it besides being serious about it, just as you are an active and optimistic person and have a fingerprint and a bright name”.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the Arts Center witnessed the opening of the exhibition "Visual Notes: Between Form and Abstraction" by Bahraini artist Rashid Ahmed Al-Arifi, in the presence of Sheikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of Culture and Arts at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, and a number of artists, cultural figures and those interested in cultural affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The exhibition This exhibition is part of the activities of the 16th Spring Culture Festival, and it will continue at the Arts Center until the end of this March from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The Culture Authority is holding this exhibition in appreciation of the artist Al-Arifi winning the second prize at the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition for the year 2020 AD for the artwork “Culture of a Classified Company”.

The artist Rashid Ahmed Al-Arifi thanked the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities for the poets in order to promote the artistic movement in Bahrain, a picture of a name belonging to the Kingdom of Bahrain. He said, "It is considered that her knowledge is from the outside

It indicates that the artistic elements that do not depend on the linear narrative, refer to figures, and events, and draw inspiration from scattered excerpts from Bahraini culture and heritage. The artist Al-Arifi hoped that the exhibition would be admired by the art connoisseur in Bahrain and that the viewer would coexist with the narrative scenes around which the works revolve.

It is noteworthy that the artist Rashid Ahmed Al-Arifi is an architect, designer, and plastic artist who uses visual narration in his artworks of all kinds. It also belongs to the artistic community, as his uncle, the late artist Rashid Al-Arifi. Rashid Ahmed Al Arifi style by many Bahraini and international artists such as Jork Kondo, Salvador Dali, Mark Rotko, Joan Miro, and Takashi Murakami. Participated in art fairs for local and international fairs to exchange information and science fairs.

It is worth mentioning that the Spring of Culture Festival is being held this year by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the Sheikh Ibrahim Center for Culture and Research, and Al Dana Theatre, in cooperation with Al Riwaq Space for Arts and Al Bareh for Fine Arts. Painter Abbas Youssef sought to think of painting in poetry, through a poetic project entitled "The Garden of Her Dreams". He says in his gallery that he drew what he never expected to do. Writer Farouk Youssef wrote when he went to the exhibition, "Only drawing has the ability to see, and the poet can go blind to avoid seeing things that have become silent and uttering the words. Words were brought back to life by material from another planet. Painting is a wonderful world. My poems used to say to the paintings: "You have revived me," the paintings recount, "You have given me another life."Abbas Yousif was inspired to paint while dreaming. While reminiscing, he also painted. He decided to talk about our language field trips together. I understand his anguish, and he understands mine. And we were deafeningly quiet about a suffering that drives us to paint and write poetry. Finally, he desired to offer a flower. But he came up with a novel way to get to its smell. The abstract of that flower is depicted in these sketches.

Urgent Action Victory! Activist Returned to Pakistan and Freed (Bahrain)

On 8 March 2020, the Bahrain authorities forcefully returned Geelaman Pashteen a Pashtun human rights activist and supporter of Pakistan’s Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) to Pakistan. Geelaman Pashteen was later released.

On 8 March 2020, the Bahrain authorities forcefully returned Hazrat Naeem Abdul Qayum, also known as Geelaman Pashteen to Pakistan where he was detained upon arrival then later released. By 28 March 2020, he was using his Twitter account again.

On 6 February 2020, Bahraini security forces arrested Geelaman Pashteen, a poet and human rights activist who resided and worked in Bahrain, based on an Interpol Red Notice.

A supporter of Pakistan’s Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), he has been peacefully calling for equality and justice for human rights violations against the Pashtun community in Pakistan and for the release of Manzoor Pashteen, a leader of the PTM, who was arrested and detained on 27 January 2020 under draconian colonial-era laws, including for “sedition”, for a speech he gave criticizing the Pakistan military.

In 2019, the Pakistani authorities intensified their crackdown on the PTM, which campaigns against human rights abuses – arresting and arbitrarily detaining dozens of its supporters, subjecting them to surveillance, intimidation, prosecution and violence leading to multiple deaths, solely for their peaceful exercise of their human rights.
