Thinking about the poem Clyde wrote after Bonnie wrote The Story of Bonnie and Clyde
#that kidnapping is the same instance Blanche mentions in her memoir#to be clear the Fugitives book/Blanche's memoir both contained some fabrications#they were written while Blanche was in prison and shortly after bonnie and clyde's deaths and needed to paint those who still lived in#a good light#BUT the poetry was real. bonnie had actually published poetry in papers before#and as far as i know in what ive read the fabrications are largely stretches of truth (Blanche likely didnt panic as hard as she wrote she#did during the joplin confrontation)#or its stuff like how eyewitness accounts tend to go back and forth over whether Bonnie herself ever fired a gun or killed anyone#also forever thinking about bonnie's poetry
