Do do sol sol la la sol Ep 11.
This episode made me realize I can’t really predict anything lol
Ahhhh Man Bok and Sun ja’s story was toooooo cuteeeee. I really liked how he said he was a part of the music so he wasn’t upset that she forgot him 😭😭 also I love that he had a recital for his wife and everyone cried (me included).
I loved the addition of Min su to the salon lol he’s funny and fits in well with the group. Can’t wait to see if his crush on Sook- kyeong will be reciprocated, they would be pretty cute together lol.
I’m wondering if Si-a will be closer to Ra Ra in the next episodes. I guess I was a little confused on why they decided to amend their friendship besides revealing that Si-a and Ji-hoon are related, which imo could have been revealed in another way. I’m glad Ra ra amended her friendship tho.
I was also a bit confused about the murder of the pickpocket?? Like was that just to show us how horrible the stalker was????? Like was the stalking and hurting Jae Min not enough?? I mean it was for me I didn’t need anymore convincing that he was horrible outside of that. It feels like that storyline ended but idk still a bit weird to me.
Ha- young wanting to tell of Jun’s mother b/c Ra Ra cried is too cute. I have loved seeing their relationship progress to the point of them caring so deeply about one another. Her and seung-ki going to not only tell of Jun’s mom but also bring him back was also really nice. I’m really happy Jun called Seung-ki his friend lol I’m still really looking forward to Ha- young and Seung-Ki’s relationship evolving.
I really thought something was wrong with Jun so after the reveal that he had faked fainted I was really surprised lol. The letter he sent was cute and a lot better than him explaining everything through a letter. From the preview it looks like Jun will spend some more time with Ra Ra and then they’ll actually split after talking things out and a bigger time jump will happen???
As always I loved Mimi lol I hope we see more of jae min. I’m still confused over Cha’s ex being all up in his business and don’t really see a point to that part of the story but I guess we’ll have to wait and see where that goes.

Honestly can you just answer all of them?
Favourite Couple
i’ll just say my top three ok cause...impossible question:
Go Dong Man and Choi Ae Ra from Fight For My Way because the friends to lovers trope is strong with this one and it’s done so well
Eun Dan Oh and Haru in Extraordinary You because they’re the cutest?? have you seen them together?? also the possibility of them being a couple in another manhwa in the past is just *chef’s kiss*
Lee Jung In and Yoo Ji Ho from One Spring Night because they absolutely destroyed me every week. the pining, the angst, the sweetness
Favourite Actor
*looks at the thousands of gifsets and pictures of Ji Chang Wook* idk man there are just too many
Favourite Actress
Park Bo Young is definitely one of them but I love Jun Ji-Hyun very much
Favourite Drama
holy shit, um...While You Were Sleeping, Strangers from Hell, Extraordinary You, Life on Mars, Black, Designated Survivor: 60 Days, Fight for My Way, One Spring Night
Favourite Trope
when for some reason they get stuck in tight spaces or accidental too close physical encounters. those drive me wild
Least Favourite Trope
is wrist grabbing a trope? no but i’m kinda sick of the “we actually met when we were like five and you did something that changed my life” trope
Favourite Genre
Crime and Romance and when these combine i go nuts
Least Favourite Genre
political (although designated survivor was the fucking best)
Favourite Idol Actor
ugh, Cha Eunwoo, Park Jinyoung, Lee Junho, Bae Suzy, Henry
Favourite Web Drama
i don’t think Wednesday 3:30pm is one but that was a short drama? i haven’t actually seen any web dramas.(is i picked up a star on the road a webdrama? it was shit but i watched it) i have started the universe’s star tho
Worst Ending
not particularly worst but w two worlds got so messy by the end, it was really hard to watch. also Black had a pretty weird ending, the kind that kept me up at night but i loved it
Messiest Plot
w two worlds BY FAR. i know people say this about melting me softly but it will never compare to w two worlds, jesus CHRIST
Favourite Villain
Choi Yoo Jin from The K2, period
Character You’re Supposed To Hate But Don’t
Choi Yoo Jin from The K2 lmao. i actually shipped her with Jae Ha.
An Actor/Actress You’d Watch In Any Role
Ji Chang Wook *looks at melting me softly* and Park Bo Young
Favourite Sageuk
Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, Tale of Nokdu, Love in the Moonlight
Hated Character You Loved
Nam Eun Ki from Her Private Life...although i didn’t finish the show, i never hated him like lots of people did.
i saw some people didn’t like Yeo Jin Woo in Memories of the Alhambra because he was a bit arrogant but i loved him so much
Loved Character You Hated
Luca from When the Devil Calls Your name annoyed THE SHIT out of me. i do not care how cute he is, he was the most annoying person i have ever seen.
i didn’t hate Ku Chan Sung in hotel del luna but he wasn’t someone i liked either. i actually don’t like yeo jin goo at all so maybe that’s why
Anna in The K2 because her character was really bland and just idk?? she was so uninteresting to me
Ji Sung Joon in She Was Pretty was not a good character, he didn’t desrve to end up with the FL and as much as i LOVE Park Seo Joon, that role didn’t do it for me
Couple That Should Have Stayed Platonic
Jae Ha and Anna in The K2. ji chang wook usually has chemistry with everyone he plays with but yoona and him just really didn’t have it. also her character was so plain, i just wished they stopped the unnecessary romantic subplot with them
i might get shit for this but Kim Shin and Ji Eun Tak in Goblin, i have expressed many times how uncomfortable the age difference was. also they worked so well as friends?? they always bickered and joked, it was so funny? they got so cheesy when they started dating it just wasn’t doing it for me
Most Annoying Family/Parents
Lee Jung In’s dad in one spring night. yall know why
ma dong chan’s family and go mi ran’s mom in melting me softly
Favourite Sidekick
Gong Soo Chang in Two Cops
Secretary Cha in designated survivor 60 days
Min Ja in Healer
Kang Dong Cheol in Life on Mars
Ji Eun Hyuk in Suspicious Partner
Ra Do Woo in Terius Behind Me
Kim Ji Woong in Oh My Venus
Favourite Group Of Friends
the losers in Fight for My Way
Worst Kiss
oh man there are just really too many of those
Touch Your Heart was really cute but the kissing scenes were tragic and what was even more tragic, was that they did THAT to lee dong wook and yoo in na out of all people
Favourite Kiss
Suspicious Partner, hands down. that shit SLAYED my ass
A Scene You’ve Rewatched A Million Times
the umbrella scene in The K2. “lift your head. straighten your back. your enemies are watching” god tier level of tension and acting on both sides
A Drama You Enjoyed, But Will Never Rewatch
almost all of them that i enjoyed. there are very few exceptions.(currently rewatching fight for my way) they’re too long and i have many more to watch
A Drama That Had A Strong Premier But Fell Apart
W Two Worlds again. it started off great but it fell apart like a jenga tower
Automatic Mood Lift OST
as i got to this question my spotify playlist decided to play Say to Myself from when the devil calls your name, so that is one
while you were sleeping
angel’s last mission: love
strangers from hell (The Rose - Strangers, specifically)
A Lead You’d Marry
the character or the actor? i’m gonna assume character. Jung Joon-Hyungfrom weightlifting fairy kim bok joo
Haru from extraordinary you
Ji Ho from one spring night
A Well Loved Actor/Actress Who Just Doesn’t Appeal To You
I mentioned Yeo Jin Goo before, idk why so don’t ask
An Unexpected Ship
Choi Yoo Jin and Jae Ha in The K2 (ofc it didn’t happen but i didn’t expect to ship them)
but i also didn’t expect Ji Eun-Hyuk and Cha Yoo-Jung from suspicious partner to rekindle their relationship after what happened
Song Hae-Rin and Ji Seo-Joon in romance is a bonus book
Favourite Crackship
Grim Reaper and Kim Shin
Actors You Wish Would Work Together
it’s really hard to find korean actors who haven’t worked together. i mentioned park bo young and lee jong suk before but apparently they already made a movie together, so i’ll say ji chang wook and park seo joon (tell me if they have, i don’t fucking know at this point)
First Drama
Strictly speaking, it was Secret Forest aka Stranger
Oldest OST You Still Listen To Regularly
i don’t watch old dramas because they make me cringe

Ok wait, update!! I finally watched the Pre-Broadway version of it and uh it's a mess. Mind you I only saw the Toronto, not the Seattle version so this is gonna be me judging that version.
1. Babkak, Omar, and Kassim being the narrators instead of Genie. Look I love BOK but the fact of the matter is that they're not really the types to be narrators. So I'm glad they changed that aspect for Genie to be the narrator once they got to Broadway which makes more sense for him since he's the all-powerful being that's most well known to break the fourth wall and in the original treatment, a genie was supposed to be our narrator. Not our Genie, but a genie nonetheless.
2. Arabian nights made me very depressed. It just ain't the same without Genie 😔
3. The transitions. They're so baaaaaad. They just seem kinda ,,,,,, unfinished if that makes sense??? And those are just the instrumental transitions. In the og treatment for Aladdin, Arabian Nights had reprises where our narrator would tell us what's gonna happen and they have that in this version of the musical. And they suck! They feel very forced and they're also very annoying. I was talking to a friend of mine, @ff2-da-derp , while watching it and we both agreed that we did not like them. It just seems like they're treating us like babies who won't understand the scene unless someone gives us a recounting of it. If I took out the reprises, I would still be able to understand what would happen in the scene. They split two scenes in half so they can go from one scene, pause it, go to the other scene, then go to the other scene to finish it, and then go back to the other OTHER scene to finish that one. The scenes the they split up btw are the scene where Jafar tells Jas that Al is dead and the scene where Genie and Al are talking about wishes outside of the Cave of Wonders. This is the only scene where Genie is I don't like because of the switching from one scene to another that are talking about two different things gives you MASSIVE whiplash.
4. The pacing of Act 1 is very weird. The only good pacing in it is the Genie scenes. Act 2 was good tho. Idk why Act 1's pacing felt so weird tho 😕.
5. Fourth wall jokes. Now these do not include Genie's fourth wall jokes. Those are fine, my problem is how much BOK make fourth wall jokes. They're pretty annoying. I mean it's not like they don't do fourth wall jokes in the final Broadway version. When Al explains to Babkak that people would pay them for giving them such good entertainment, Babkak says, "I don't know Al. People paying to see other people sing and dance. Who does that?" That's obviously a fourth wall joke since they're characters from a Broadway musical, things people pay to see other people sing and dance. The difference between that joke and the jokes made in this version is that that joke still feels like something a real person would say. A lot of the fourth wall jokes here don't seem like what a real person would say and feel like they're just forced in. There's one scene where Al is about to go tell Jasmine the truth and he goes check on the others and Kassim is like "Don't worry, go. We'll take care of the transition music." Not only does that take you out of the musical but it also feels like the writer didn't know how to transition to the transition music so he just put that.
6. Call Me a Princess. Alan Menken actually admits that he was trying to force this song into the musical just because it was one of the songs Howard worked on and it shows. In the musical they reused it as Jasmine pretending to be a brat to scare her suitors away which is cool in concept until you realize the audience only gets a few seconds to get to see the real Jasmine before she puts on the bratty princess act so it confuses once we get to spend the entirety of the musical with real Jasmine when we spent an ENTIRE SONG getting to know bratty Princess Jasmine. Tho everytime I sing it I feel powerful so it gets pass. By just barely tho.
7. Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim. I really don't like this version of this song. It's not really that fun. It definitely feels more of a performance but that's not really what is likeable about it. It's the sense of community that you feel whenever everyone starts dancing with BOAK and how like in sync BOAK are in this song. This version doesn't have any of that which makes it kinda boring to watch. The only positive I will give it is that at some point Kassim kisses Omar on the cheek which I thought was cute.
8. Somebody's Got Your Back reprise. Here's a positive, this is a very good reprise!!! Genie sings in it how the reason why he's free is because somebody got his back and the world should prepare for the now free genie of the lamp. It's very cute, and it's great seeing Genie be happy. I can see why they cut it tho. At the end of the song he leaves, giving the impression that this will be the last time we see him in the show but then he comes out of nowhere to sing his part in A Whole New World in the Finale. So yeah it's better for him to stay and then leave once our attention is on the dancers in the finale so him coming to sing A Whole New World doesn't feel weird and out of nowhere. It also kinda makes me sad that Genie didn't get to see his son get his happily ever after. Pour one out for the bois 🍷
9. Characterization. Now I'm very neutral towards most of the main casts characterization here. The sultan seems to be the same. Jasmine is practically the same but just a tiny bit ruder. Jafar and Iago seem to be gayer in this version. In all seriousness tho, Jafar is definitely the angrier of the two while Iago is sweeter here which is very weird for him. BOK kinda stayed consistent???? Omar is the one whose characterization stayed mostly in tack, he's a bit sweeter in this than he already was which isn't bad at all. Babkak seems to be the same he's just making more food jokes in this and his friends are getting sick of it. Kassim is the one out of the three that is different. I mean he's still stubborn as hell but in this version he's actually scolding Aladdin for stealing and is being meaner than usual. Ngl I prefer the final version of him where he actually encourages them to steal since it's all they knew. He's kinda like Lance from Tangled. Genie was the best in terms of characterization. He's basically the same as his final version.
10. Aladdin. Yes Aladdin gets his own section cause they butchered THE HELL out of him. Now at first I didn't know why I didn't like this version of Aladdin and then it struck me. This Aladdin doesn't really seem to have his signature heart of gold that made him the diamond in the rough. Seriously, it's very hard for me to believe how this version of Al became the diamond in the rough and even harder for me to believe that Jasmine would fall in love with him. Like this guy is INCREDIBLY pushy when he first meets Jasmine. Like in the Broadway version he is like that a little. But the first time Al makes any remarks about being romantically interested and Jas says she doesn't feel the same, he stops. He slips a few times but he corrects himself because he doesn't wanna make her uncomfortable and Jas actually likes spending time with him. This version tho just keeps making romantic remarks toward her even tho she clearly stated she's not interested in him. Like dude when a girl tells you she's not interested in your romantic pursuits, maybe stop?? Like she legit told you she's not playing hard to get, she's playing impossible to get. Get the memo dude. Final version of Aladdin drinks respect woman juice every day while this Al barely takes a sip of it. He's incredibly cynical too. I know he's not the most optimistic character in this franchise but this Aladdin is basically just I hate everything. Al has atleast some positivity and hope. Also it doesn't seem like he's trying to make his mom proud which is supposed to be one of his main motivators. Like dude what are you doing???? This version is incredibly dislikable and I think that's the reason why it's so difficult to watch this. In Act 2, he's actually likeable. Idk what happened but something happened. They get to the part where Al reveals he has a magic carpet to Jas and in that moment I realised that I really missed dorky Aladdin. It just makes me sad cause Aladdin is my 2nd favorite character so he's very dear to me.
And that's kinda all I have to say. Very sorry this is really long, I'm just very passionate about it. So to answer your question, Broadway is superior. Sorry but it's the truth 💅. Also about the second question, my official favorite song is now Prince Ali.
@magigorical
🎭 🎤 (btw hi I see your Aladdin content in the tag and I appreciate seeing someone who's also rlly into Aladdin! I'm more into the movie but the musical is rlly good too)
🎭- Do you prefer the Pre-Broadway show or the Broadway show?
Ngl to you chief, I haven't actually watched the pre-Broadway show. I've only really watched one thing from it and that's the "Call Me a Princess" musical number. I've seen like two whole thoughts about it and they were like "Pre-Broadway is a hot mess" and "Pre-Broadway is better than Broadway" with no reasons why. So by default, I'm gonna say I prefer the Broadway show.
🎤- Favorite song?
Between Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim and Prince Ali
(Thank you! I'm glad someone enjoys seeing my content!)
