lafferson being romantic on vday
uh I know you said romantic but I'm sick so I made Thomas sick oops --"Hey, mon chou," Lafayette nudged Thomas' shoulder, voice low, gently pulling him out of sleep. Thomas had fallen asleep on the couch again, papers he had been reading through laying over his bare chest, crushed beneath him, and littering the floor. Thomas groaned, cracking one eye open, his vision mostly obscured by his wild curls and bleary without his contacts or glasses, but he could make out the shape of his partner. Lafayette was kneeling by the arm of the couch and they reached out to push Thomas' hair back. They both became very aware of something at the same moment. Thomas realized that his throats was sore and scratchy, his chest ached, and he immediately started coughing. Lafayette pulled their hand back, moving closer and taking Thomas' face into their hands gently, pressing their lips to his forehead. "Oh, mon amour, tu es chaud." Lafayette leaned back on their heels, frowning as they started collecting Thomas' papers and stacking them neatly on the table. "Come, come on, let's get you into bed." Thomas whined as Lafayette tugged at his arm, but ultimately let himself be led into their bedroom and tucked beneath the enormous duvet Lafayette had insisted on buying. It was usually far too warm but Thomas curled into it, still shivering, while Lafayette rushed into the bathroom. They came back a moment later with a thermometer and a bottle of Advil, ignoring Thomas' protests as they stuck the thermometer under his tongue. "I will have to call the restaurant," Lafayette mused as they watched Thomas' temperature climb. "That's okay, we can reschedule."That's when Thomas realized something even worse than his sore throat and fever: It was Valentine's Day. "I'm so sorry," he croaked after Lafayette took the thermometer out, wincing when it hurt his throat more. "Don't be silly, mon chou, you cannot control your germs." Lafayette smiled at him, leaning down and kissing his forehead. They handed the bottle of Advil to Thomas, along with a glass of water Thomas hadn't even noticed. "But you are at 103, and I am worried. Take a couple of those, hopefully it will bring it down. Are you hungry? You probably don't feel hungry, but I will go make you some soup. Finish that water, fevers dehydrate you, and you must push fluids. I will be right back, darling-" Thomas reached out, grabbing Lafayette's hand before they could leave again. "I ruined Valentine's Day."Lafayette chuckled, placing their other hand over Thomas'. "What are you talking about?""We were supposed to go out," Thomas frowned. "Have dinner, then sex, it was going to be a romantic evening.""You didn't ruin it, we're still going to do all of that." Lafayette tilted his head. "Well, maybe not sex. Not yet. Though, I don't know, I have heard it can help break a fever - any matter, we will have dinner, and I will put on one of those sappy movies you secretly love, and we will cuddle because I know you feel terrible right now. It may not be the Valentine's Day we planned, but it's not much different. Like I said, we can reschedule dinner at that restaurant and go another night." Lafayette pressed a gentle kiss to Thomas' knuckles. "Okay?"Thomas couldn't argue with that, and he let Lafayette go. Not much later - or maybe a lot later, Thomas may have drifted off for a minute - Lafayette returned with two bowls of soup and one PB&J. They climbed into bed with Thomas, settling the tray of food between them before reaching for the television remote and choosing a movie. It wasn't the Valentine's Day they had expected, but the warm soup helped Thomas' throat and Lafayette ended up eating the entire sandwich and giving Thomas the rest of their soup. The tray was put aside and Thomas nestled into Lafayette's arms, nearly forgetting the movie and just drowning in the comfort of the blanket and Lafayette and he almost forgot he was sick.
