Hi again, it's 🔮 and I was hoping you could do something for Loki? Where the reader and him have been together officially for a few months, and the reader is still really self-conscious. She doesn't get why Loki wants to be with her, and Loki can tell something is off. This man sees you as his queen and promises you the world. While you believe him, you're also waiting for him to see how out of your league he is (obviously you aren't, but self-image issues are very real). It leads into Loki reassuring you repeatedly that he chose you for a reason. And to prove his point, he worships your body in a sweet and slow way, just soft smut.
Thank you so much!!
Devotion [l.l]
summary : Reader is in a relationship with Loki. When he returns from a mission at a party, the reader hears tales of the attention Loki was receiving from the women in attendance. Reader lets her confidence issues get in the way of her relationship. Loki promises there is nothing the reader has to doubt about his love for her. He decides to show just how much he desires the reader.

a/n : This took like a full week to write, then I spent a full day editing this. This is also my first smut I’ve ever written. Hopefully it isn’t too cringey? Maybe it’s decent? Hopefully I did this request justice.
It was a quiet day at the tower. You weren’t scheduled for any upcoming missions and Loki had just returned from his latest mission early in the morning. You’d woken this morning with your boyfriend sleeping next to you. He’d stirred as you slipped from bed as quietly as possible, but with a hushed promise from you that everything was okay, he murmured his love for you before dozing off again. You grabbed one of his few sweaters and slipped it on as you made your way down to the kitchen.
The rest of the Avengers were gathered around the table as you grabbed a bowl and oatmeal. You listened as Steve and Thor discussed the mission they’d arrived back from with Loki. You couldn’t help the pit forming in your stomach as you listened to Thor regale the events of the gala they’d infiltrated and the women that had paid attention to both Loki and himself while Steve had been searching for intel on the host.
You slowly tuned out the details of the lavish party as the ever present seed of self doubt began to bloom further at the thought of the kinds of women who were trying to entertain Loki’s attention the night prior. You’d never quite understood what Loki saw in you. You’d consider yourself extremely ordinary compared to the other members of the team. You’d been specially trained in reconnaissance and stealthful extractions; you had no extraordinary abilities. Your advantage in the field was the way you seemed to stay out of people’s attention, never seeming like a threat to others.
Events like a gala were all about extravagance. The gowns, looking like the definition of perfection, entertaining others with long winded conversations about yourself. While all of that was going on there would be even more happening within the venue itself. Having the best of the best in terms of guests’ social status, lavish decorations everywhere, and absolutely nothing there was meant to do anything but capture the attention of the guests. It was a grand occasion, nothing subtle about it.
You were quite the opposite. People such as Loki, Thor, and Tony were made for events such as these. They held both the status socially and financially to be among the elite at these events. Steve and Bruce held the social status to belong to these events even if it made them uncomfortable. But you? You’d never been successful at feeling like you belonged in such an event. You could wear an elegant outfit, make the expected pleasantries, but you never felt comfortable there. While managing to do what is needed to both fit in yet be forgettable at such an event, you felt there was a reason you never had to go on missions at such events anymore.
You’d begun to push your breakfast around in its bowl as you imagined how amazing the women would have looked last night. The enticing outfit they’d chosen, how they probably tried to drape themselves on Loki’s arm, hanging onto his every word hoping he’d pay them a little more attention than the other women around them. It was as you were stewing in your thoughts that the quiet drag of the chair next to you drew your attention. You looked up to see Steve and Thor were gone as Loki was taking the seat next to you.
“Good morning my love,” Loki quietly greeted you with a kiss. “How did you rest? I hope I didn’t disturb you getting into bed earlier.”
“Hi,” you breathed pushing the thoughts plaguing your mind away. “I slept well, and no you didn’t disturb me. How was your mission?”
“Dreadful. Despite how much Thor was enjoying himself, the party was absolutely horrific. I don’t see why I was needed for such a mission. No matter what I said or did, there was this one woman who would not leave me alone,” he grumbled.
“Oh?” You felt your heart squeeze and prayed your face didn’t show your displeasure.
“At first I was polite in my rejection of her, informing her of my disinterest in her as well as our romantic involvement. She seemed displeased but asked about your location at the party. When I said you unfortunately could not attend, this woman seemed to interpret that as an invitation for her to linger. Every time I would find a way to avoid her, she seemed to find me minutes later. It was absolutely infuriating. I became increasingly curt in my rejections of her until Thor finally whisked her attention from me,” he groaned out. “All I desired was to be by your side. Three days without you was unbearable.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” you tried to comfort him as your insecurities felt confirmed. “But it’s to be somewhat expected.”
“What do you mean?”
“Loki,” you sighed as though it should be obvious, “you’re too attractive for your own good. It doesn’t matter what realm you’re in. With how handsome you are, I’d expect you to be used to the attention of so many ladies by now.”
“That means nothing when I want the attention of only you, darling.”
Your heart flutters at Loki’s words. He kisses you again as you feel heat rush to your cheeks at his sweet sentiment. You have absolutely no idea what you did to deserve Loki’s love and attention.
“How does a day in the library together sound?” Loki offers you his hand once he stands.
You smile at the offer, “Like absolute perfection.”
Your eyes stared unseeing at the page. Imagination running on what you’d heard from both Thor and Loki about the gala last night. The woman focused on Loki, how Thor noticed the attention Loki was receiving, and how Thor compared it to parties back on Asgard. The way the two princes must have felt right at home in such a party. You imagined Loki in one of suits, a rare occasion he’d forgo his signature green and the way he’d look absolutely suave in his all black suit. The way the dark suit would compliment his dark locks while contrasting with the icey blue of his eyes, completely drawing attention without needing to try. Loki was the epitome of a perfect and classy gentleman. You couldn’t help the way you dwelled on what the woman might have looked like. You imagined her draped on Loki’s arm, a dress in his signature green, hair swept into a sleek updo, complementing Loki’s natural looks, the image of a high class couple–
“Darling, is everything alright?” Loki draws your attention from the book you’d been trying to read for the past hour.
“Hmm?” You hum getting pulled from your thoughts.
“I asked if everything was alright,” he repeats while closing his own book.
“Yeah, I’m just reading.”
Loki shakes his head slightly, “You haven’t turned the page in over an hour. And your eyes keep looking over the same paragraph over and over again. What’s wrong?”
You shrug, “I just can’t focus,” you admit half of the truth. “My thoughts are just scattered,” covering the slight waver in your voice with a thin smile.
Loki sets his book on the table next to him, standing from his chair to sit next to you. He lifts an arm offering his side to you, and you sink into his inviting embrace. You lean your head into his shoulder, savoring the way he drapes his arm across your shoulders as he gently pulls you closer into him. You feel his nose bury into your hair as the ghost of a kiss is pressed against the crown of your head, and you allow yourself to fully relax into his hold.
“Is there anything I can do to help you, my love?” Loki asks in a soft tone.
You shake your head as a lump forms in your throat, unable to help the guilt you feel for taking his attention. The guilt that consumes you whenever you think too long about how Loki courted you, officially asked about being in a committed relationship. How he had looked so scared you would ever even consider rejecting him, but you’d eagerly said yes. Now, you couldn’t imagine why this prince, a literal god, chose to pursue you. Though he’d never indicated such feelings, you couldn’t help but think he’d merely settled for you before experiencing the other people of Earth.
The seed of doubt that had begun to bloom a week ago at breakfast has fully blossomed. You couldn’t face Loki as your mind plagued itself with potential scenarios. What if Loki hadn’t been dating you at the time of his mission, would he have enjoyed his night better? Would he have found a woman to entertain him that night? You couldn’t understand why Loki would choose to be in a relationship with someone such as yourself. He was leagues above you in every way, you’d done nothing to deserve him.
It was these worried thoughts that made you avoid Loki for the days following his return from the mission. Waking earlier than usual while he slumbered, going to sleep just as he was coming home, keeping your day busy with paperwork and training. The tipping point came when you were in the hallway outside your office and asked Steve if there were any missions that needed your skills, but Loki’d overheard your request as he was going to your office in hopes of finally having a moment alone with you.
The look on his face over Steve’s shoulder made your heart plummet. As you froze mid sentence, an expression like that of a deer caught in headlights on your features, Steve gave you a quiet no before walking away. Loki’s eyes were dark as he abruptly turned around and returned the way he’d come.
“Loki,” you rushed after him, “I didn’t–”
You were cut off by a flash of green as your boyfriend disappeared into nothingness. You couldn’t help the tears that welled in your eyes, refusing to let them fall when his hurt was all your fault. Having no idea how to take back what you’d just done, you trudged back to your shared apartment.
Arriving in your and Loki’s apartment, your heart broke at the mess scattered around your room. It was clear Loki had planned a night in for the two of you, but angrily tore apart the cozy night in. There were blankets and pillows scattered everywhere, Loki’s favorite wine glasses had been knocked off the bedside table and lay on the floor broken, and wax was slowly cooling from your favorite candle. Your head spun at how badly you’d messed up.
Not knowing where Loki could be right now, you desperately tried to call him. Hearing his phone vibrate from near the bed, you hang your head in defeat as your phone falls from your hold. Grabbing a notepad, you scrawled a messy ‘I’m sorry. I can explain, but if you no longer want me around I’d understand,’ before walking out your apartment.
You stared at the people rushing to and fro in the grand central terminal. The chaos so many people expressed outwardly matching how you felt inside. You were sure the turmoil you felt inside was nothing in comparison to the anguish you’d caused Loki. You hardly noticed the passing of time, only leaving when the announcement of the station’s closing rang clear over the speakers. You began the quiet walk back to the tower, hardly paying attention to the city around you.
When you finally made it back to the tower, it was easily four in the morning. As you scanned your keycard in the elevator, you heard JARVIS announce your return to the tower as you chose the floor for your apartment. As the doors opened to the common room, you didn’t acknowledge the rest of the team as they all stood expectantly by the doors. You walked past them as they called over each other for you to wait and ask what happened. You only hesitated when your eyes landed on Loki and his disheveled state.
Loki never showed himself as anything other than well put together. The fact that your actions caused him to reveal himself in such a state to the team made another wave of shame crash over you. You trudged past everyone and finally made it to your apartment. Instead of hearing the door click shut, you hear quiet footsteps behind you. You couldn’t ignore that Loki was behind you.
Before he could say anything you choked out, “I’m sorry. I promise you that it was not my intention to hurt you. I’m so sorry Loki.”
“Darling–” Loki’s agitation was clear in his voice.
“I’ll move back into my old apartment, just let me pack my things first. I’ll be out of your way in just a moment, you won’t have to deal with me again.”
“No, wait. I don’t want you to–”
“It’s fine Loki. Just let me–”
“Would you please just hold on, for just a minute,” Loki begged while wrapping his arms around you. “I don’t want you to leave, darling. I just need to know that you’re alright, and then we can talk. Can you face me darling?”
You nod at his words and turn around in his hold.
“Can you tell me where you were all night? Are you hurt anywhere?” Loki’s eyes frantically scan your face.
“I went to the train station,” you sniffled out. “Nothing happened, I just watched the people there.”
Loki visibly relaxed hearing that you were alright, “I am so relieved that you’re safe my love. You made me so worried.”
“I’m sorry,” you cried.
“Shh, sweetheart. You're okay,” Loki tenderly wiped away your tears. “Can you tell me what happened? What’s been making you act differently and avoid me?”
You nodded and choked back a sob. Loki gently guided you to the couch, sitting down before pulling you onto his lap. He spent a few minutes gently shushing you, wiping away your tears, and rubbing your back as you slowly calmed down.
“I’m sorry,” you hiccuped. “I just got in my own head. Just kept thinking about that gala, and how you could do so much better than me. That I was holding you back from your own happiness. I thought you’d realize how you settled for me before you could even experience what Earth had to offer you.”
Loki’s hold on you tightened at your words.
“I was avoiding you because I thought,” you shrug while wiping at your eyes before more tears could fall, “that you’d see exactly what you were missing out on if I stayed around you too long. That I was just some kind of consolation prize now that you’ve experienced more of Earth. You could be doing far better than me, Loki. I’m sorry you heard me in the hallway asking for a mission to go on, I just couldn’t bear avoiding you when you were so close.”
“I’ve missed you darling,” Loki whispered into your ear.
“I’ve missed you, too. I’ve missed you so much.”
Loki moves you, shifting you so you sit with your knees either side of his lap. He tucks your head under his chin as you wrap your arms around him. He keeps one hand on your thigh to hold you steady as the other rubs soothing circles into your side. You slowly relax as his warmth envelops you, breathing in his woody scent, listening to his heartbeat. The minutes tick by as you feel his chest rise and fall steadily. You can’t fight the yawn that escapes you, finally feeling relaxed against your boyfriend.
“Come on darling,” Loki murmurs. “I think it’s time for bed.”
“No,” you weakly protest.
“It’s been a long day, you need to rest.”
“Don’t wan’ to leave you again.”
Loki sighs, his heart swelling at your admission. He places his hands under your knees and stands up, “Believe me my love. I am not letting you out of my sight any time soon.”
“Promise?” You ask as Loki lays you on the bed.
“I swear it, my love,” Loki lays next to you, pulling you on top of him before covering the two of you. “If I can help it, I will remain by your side forever.”
You sigh into his neck at his admission, allowing sleep to pull you into its depths.
You slowly wake to the quiet whisper of Loki in your ear. Quiet promises and praises falling past his lips as the real world slowly seeps its way into your senses. Your eyes slowly open, seeing the silver light from the moon seeping past the partially open curtains. As you lift your head from where it rests on Loki, drinking in the sight of him bathed in the light of the moon. Your heart clenches at the serene look on his face as he looks down at you.
“I’m sorry,” you breathe out before kissing Loki’s chest.
“I wish you would quit apologizing,” Loki lightly chastises you, his gaze soft as your eyes meet.
“I let my insecurities get to me. I should have just talked to you instead of avoiding you.”
“I do think you should have talked to me, but I understand feeling insecure darling.”
“You do?” The disbelief in your tone is obvious. You can’t fathom what this prince– this god– has to be insecure about.
“Of course I do. How could I possibly not? With such an amazing, smart, gorgeous, caring girlfriend. It’s a wonder you’ve never noticed the way other men look at you. You could easily have any man you could imagine. I’m just an abandoned prince, the disowned adopted son of Odin, god of mischief, former mind-controlled enemy of Earth. Nobody has ever truly given me a chance at proving I can do good before I met you. You saw the good in me, and you made me want to do good. You have seen beyond everything and peered straight into my soul, love. How you could ever find it in yourself to look past the horrible things I’ve done will never stop amazing me.”
“Because you are good. And you deserve so much love. It’s an honor to love you.”
“It’s an even bigger honor to be loved by you,” Loki admits, lips ghosting over yours.
“How could I not love you? You may not let others see, but I know how deeply you care. About me, about Thor, about Frigga. And you may not want to admit it, but you care about the team, too. You care for so many people and do everything possible to protect them. Beyond that, you’re brilliant. The way your mind works is astounding, especially when under pressure. You portray this uncaring, untouchable god to protect yourself from feeling hurt. And I accidentally betrayed the trust you gave me to see your vulnerability. And I’m still sorry for that,” you look away from his eyes. “I just can’t fathom what you see compared to other women. My greatest asset to the team is how forgettable I appear, and you’re a literal god. I am wholly average, and yet you choose to be with me. I've willingly handed you my heart, and if you were to leave it'd still belong to you. There is no one else it will ever belong to. And I know it isn’t entirely rational, but I keep waiting for you to realize just how much better you could do than me.”
Loki’s sigh of frustration has you burying your face into him. Slowly, his hands settle on your waist. His stillness has you peeking up at him. His gaze is already on you, eyes slightly narrowed and jaw set. You shrink slightly at the intensity of his gaze. He swiftly rolls the two of you over, caging your body between him and the mattress. He braces one hand next to your head, the other guiding your face to look at him.
“You are far from forgettable. And I will continually do everything in my power to remind you there is no mortal nor goddess that could ever compare to you. I promise you I am devoted to you, body, soul, and heart. There is no other for me but you," he says with fierce conviction.
I close my eyes, "But–"
"There are no buts about this," Loki chastely kisses you. "I have given myself entirely to you, my love," he speaks against your skin, nipping along the line of your neck.
His month stills at the base of your neck, nosing the collar of your shirt out the way. A whimper quietly escapes you at the attention Loki gives your collarbone. His cool hands slip under the hem of your shirt, resting against your warm skin. Slowly, they inch up your torso stopping at your waist exposing your skin.
"Would you allow me to express my appreciation for you?" Loki asks suggestively, breaths hot against you.
"Yes, please," you whine out.
The guttural groan that escapes him is quickly followed by a hungry kiss. His hands continue upward, pushing your shirt higher, and Loki only breaks the kiss to push the fabric over your head and toss it away. He pauses, pupils blown and lips kiss bitten, just taking you in. You move slightly, self conscious, trying to cover yourself.
"Don't," his voice begs. "Don't hide yourself. Not from me, never from me, please."
His tone stills you. Giving into his plea, you hold his gaze. Behind the ring of blue consumed by black, beyond the desire, all you see is love. His eyes remain hooded, gaze raking over you as though you'll disappear. His hands return to your hips, thumbs rubbing comforting circles, guiding them lower with every stroke. He stops at the waistband of your–his–sleep pants. You lift your hips in a silent invitation to remove them. His fingers slip under the band, dragging it down, leaving goosebumps in their wake. Between one breath and the next your pants are gone, joining your shirt somewhere on the floor.
Placing his hands on your ankles, Loki gazes up at your body, "You're etharial."
You whine, wishing you could cover yourself but remember his plea. He opens your legs enough to slot between, returning his lips to yours. He takes his time kissing you, plush lips soft against your own, nipping lightly at your lower lip just to soothe the sting away with another kiss. As you break away for air he kisses the corner of your mouth teasingly, slowly trailing kisses to your jaw as your chest heaves. With him sucking just below your ear you can't help but press yourself closer to him. Languidly, Loki trails kisses along your shoulders and stomach leaving marks of red and purple in his wake.
Once he finally reaches your naval you're nothing but a whining, wrything mess with your fingers buried in his onyx hair, mind filled with haze. His lips leave your skin, but before you can whimper your protest his lips start at your knee and trail upwards along your inner thigh. His breath ghosts past your core as he repents the process with your other thigh.
"Loki," you whine breathily, "please."
"What do you want darling?" Loki punctuates his question with a languid lick through your wet folds. "All you have to do is ask."
"Anything. Just want you. Need you close."
"As you wish."
With that, Loki lapps at your folds again, nose bumping your clit. You can't contain the moans that escape you as his tongue teases your hole. You tug the strands of hair between your fingers causing him to moan against you. The feeling has you shuddering as the pleasure builds. Grinding your hips against Loki's tongue the coil in your stomach tightens further.
"I'm so close," you moan. "’M gonna come."
Loki's hand snakes between your legs, fingers rubbing tight circles around your clit. He pulls away for just a second, "Come for me darling."
His relentless licking and rubbing of your clit leads you higher and higher. Soon the coil in your stomach snaps. Loki holds your hips down as your buck arches off the bed. He guides you through your orgasm, only stopping when he feels you shiver from overstimulation. You're a panting mess when he looms over your body. He licks your cum from his lips before kissing you. The taste of your own arousal in his mouth makes you groan. You paw at his erection through his tight pants.
"No, darling." Loki gently grabs your wrist to stop you. "That's not necessary."
"But you didn't get to–" You tiredly protest before interrupting yourself with a yawn.
"Shhh. Tonight isn't about anything other than you."
"You deserve to feel good."
"You've already made me feel good."
"Want you close, though," you pout.
"Alright, darling. We'll be as close as possible."
You tiredly gaze at Loki as he pushes down both his pants and boxers. He slowly strokes himself. Getting impatient, you open your legs wider with a moan. Chuckling at your antics, Loki rubs his tip through your slick. Getting fed up with his teasing, you roll your hips trying to get him inside you. It takes a few tries but you feel his tip catch in your hole as Loki groans in pleasure. Finally, Loki eases into you. Your walls flutter at every inch that glides into you. The familiar stretch and feeling of fullness has you sighing in content. Bottoming out, Loki stills inside you. Gently, Loki rolls the two of you over without slipping out. Tossing the blanket back over the two of you, he wraps his arm around you keeping you securely against him. You try to roll your hips against him again, but Loki tightens his hold around you, keeping you flush against him. Your legs tangle together with his as your breaths mingle.
"Just relax, my love." Loki whispers against your ear.
"You still haven't–" you try to remind him.
"I don't need anything more than this. To be so close to you we are joined as one. It's more than fulfilling."
You nod in understanding. Relaxing against him, you trail kisses everywhere you can reach. Loki trails his fingers through your hair. Your heart feels full and your mind at rest as the two of you lay entwined. Gradually, each of your movements slow as you fall asleep together.

I really felt annoyed on that kallen and lelouch scene where kallen landed on top of him in a sense where both has something to go back after the battle i mean lelouch was asking her to go back with him, I just felt where would c.c. be after the battle, will she be forgotten after it? Will it be like okay c.c. your job here is done you may go and we will go back to our own ordinary lives, will lelouch just let her go if she decided to go....lol and the list go on, (this is me speaking beyond shipping and as a c.c. enthusiast) and if i didn't know that the director is pushing c.c. and lelouch to each other i will forever hate the series cuz c.c. deserves the best (i mean its very obvious with the official arts and scenes and i remember reading something about it before) (can we also assume that c.c. got jealous on that part too lol what would happen if c.c. didn't speak about tabasco will they kiss? lol) I also really have a love hate feeling w/ kallen, she is really a good pilot and i kinda ship him sometimes with suzaku, sometimes not because i love him with euphie, but really that tension whenever they are together fighting or not Idk if its their strong and badass character but they really look good and compatible with each other but then I really love her with Gino the most lol i mean if i find kallen and suzaku compatible then i find kallen and gino most compatible hahaha Its just that kallen can show that she can be weak/soft can be tired or can breakdown (and not the always strong her) with gino. (I hope you can understand this part) I love it when gino picked her up after her battle with suzaku. How I wished gino appeared more in the series, was introduce early and they had scenes more together. I sometimes dislike her cuz she is over reacting in a lot of times like she is just too much and almost in par with nina's reaction most of the times haha (i kinda dislike/hate kxl scenes in a sense too that its one sided like its mostly k and l shows no interest but sometimes it look like there is a mutual feeling between both of them(i mostly felt its one sided shen watching the movie especially the resurrection) (What can you say about their scenes?, when he put jacket to her while she was wearing bunny girl costume, the refrain scene, when she fell on top of him, when she was captured, their kiss? etc.) BUT if you look at c.c. and lelouch relationship and scenes together its just too consistent lol i just love it how lelouch always assured and pursued her from that rooftop scene after battling with Mao, if she is a witch then he'll became a warlock, when he discovered and promised her about fulfilling her true wish, when she asked him if he hated her for giving him the power of geass and about to do something if kallen did not interrupt and bonus: that resurrection scene when he decided to become L.L. (I LOVE WRITING THIS PART OF ASSURANCE AND PURSUING ABT CLUCLU, MY FAVORITE XD, pls add some if i forgot something) i also kinda agreed to that statement except c.c. part lol going around that Shirley -> Lelouch Lamperouge, Kallen -> Zero and C.C. -> Lelouch Vi Britania but doesn't C.C. knows all lelouch's persona and had been supportive and stayed with him from the very start and in whatever path he chose? 😂 I hate it that people come at c.c.'s age and that she witness lelouch grow up like, is her immortality her fault? Like people are okay for male characters of 123456790 age falling for main girls in dramas or some animes for example but not okay if its c.c. lol SORRY THIS POST IS SO LONG it was supposed to be focus only on the first part about THAT scene 🙏
Whoa~ You’re not lying, this is one hell of an ask 🤣😂😅 I read 4 topics in this xD:
Lelouch, Kallen, C.C. scene
Kallen ships (Suzaku or Gino)
Kallen x Lelouch vs C.C. x Lelouch
C.C. & Lelouch's Age-gap
Let’s go in!
Lelouch, Kallen, & C.C. Scene
(can we also assume that c.c. got jealous on that part too lol what would happen if c.c. didn't speak about tabasco will they kiss? lol)
Maybe, but who knows, to be honest. xD The whole interaction was very impulsive, considering the fact that Lelouch was still fresh off of bouncing back from his depression, which Kallen had witnessed and was at the brunt end of.
When Kallen fell on top of Lelouch, I do believe both of them were thinking about that one moment where Lelouch tried to use Kallen to forget his current circumstances. Perhaps part of Kallen wanted it, but knew it wasn’t right. So I adore her for bitch-slapping him. xD The idiot deserved it.
C.C. was just there... I’m not sure if she was jealous or not. Maybe she didn’t give a fuck xD Before I could form my own conclusions, the entire scene is interrupted again because Zero gets called out into the control room.
Kallen Ships (Suzaku vs Gino)
I agree with most of your points in this part.
Personally, in my own fics, I ship Kallen with Gino a lot because for me, Suzaku belongs with Euphemia by default.
But, I do see the chemistry and the sexual tension that could go between Suzaku and Kallen. Like maybe their fights are really just unresolved sexual tension 😂🤣
I imagine a romance between them would be very explosive, passionate, and rough. I don’t just mean this in terms of sex, I imagine their entire dynamic would swing this way too. They’re really opinionated, and they both literally fight for what they believe in, and their conviction is strong enough to rival each other’s.
Suzaku and Kallen just clash magnificently. On the other hand, Gino’s and Kallen’s personalities probably combine. They have things in common, but not too much to the point of being passionate and aggressive at the same time.
KaLulu vs CLuCLu
What can you say about their scenes?, when he put jacket to her while she was wearing bunny girl costume, the refrain scene, when she fell on top of him, when she was captured, their kiss? etc.
In that scene where he put his jacket on her, I think that’s gentlemanly of Lelouch. It’s something I expect from him considering he was born a prince, and also, he has a little sister. On a sidenote, I adore both him and Suzaku for being respectful towards the women in their circle, for the most part.
That refrain scene was a moment of grief for Lelouch and he was being erratic. I said it once or twice, I’ll say it again. I am so happy Kallen bitch-slapped him. It shows that she’s not willing to put up with bullshit, and believes that Lelouch is definitely better than that. Kudos to her, she may have slapped him to his senses. For Kallen, it was a moment of, “Please be who we need you to be.”
It was a brilliant turning point for Lelouch as well. After Nunnally was given the role of Viceroy, Lelouch, at least, realized that his war and his rebellion against Britannia wasn’t just for his sister anymore. It was for everyone he cared about too. It was for the people who counted on Zero’s idea of freedom and perhaps peace.
In summary, I made my stance clear on KaLulu on a separate post long ago. But the gist was, they may have felt romantic feelings for each other, but it was probably brief and suppressed in favor of their grander goals and all that shit that was already going down. Romance just wasn’t appropriate for Lelouch or any of the characters who had something at stake in the war.
In the end, Kallen chose Japan, and Lelouch chose Zero Requiem. That is that. 😊
BUT if you look at c.c. and lelouch relationship and scenes together its just too consistent
Lelouch & C.C.’s relationship is a slow-burn from the get-go. It’s part of the reason why it’s so appealing to me.
Let’s be honest, Lelouch doesn’t even view C.C. as human until halfway to R1, and C.C. took almost all of 2 seasons to acknowledge the fact that she cared about Lelouch.
i also kinda agreed to that statement except c.c. part lol going around that Shirley -> Lelouch Lamperouge, Kallen -> Zero and C.C. -> Lelouch Vi Britania
I understand why a lot of people like this argument. I, for one, believe there’s a grain of truth in it.
BUT in my own honest opinion, I think that is a little unfair to Kallen and Shirley. I’m sure Lelouch cared about the two of them in unique ways and perhaps chose to hide behind masks around them to protect them and to preserve his own façade. Hell, he lied to his own sister for most of the entire show because he thought it would protect her and would shield her from the horrors of the world. (It didn’t turn out well, did it? 🤣) Still, my point is, Shirley and Kallen would have been willing to understand and know Lelouch’s every mask. Lelouch himself, just didn’t let them. And it was for their own good, I believe.
So why C.C.?
If there’s anyone in the world who can understand people’s multiple points of view, it would probably be C.C... She lived through most of mankind’s history, and she’s been alive long enough to take multiple perspectives in, meet different types of people, and see lots of ridiculous shit xD Lelouch slowly becomes aware of this fact as the series progresses, and we do see him have deep conversations with her from time to time. She’s capable of being objective. She knocks some sense into him a lot, especially during the beginning. One notable example of this that I will never forget is the episode after Lelouch realized Shirley’s father died because of his actions. It showed how immature Lelouch was being and how idealistic -- thinking war only took out the bad guys in his side of the story. Point is, she knows when to chastise him and when to offer her consolation, which is part of the reason why Lelouch would pick her as accomplice anyway.
but doesn't C.C. knows all lelouch's persona and had been supportive and stayed with him from the very start and in whatever path he chose?\
C.C. does know him. But I wouldn’t go so far as to say ‘supportive’, nonetheless wholly supportive.
C.C. had her self-serving reasons, just like Lelouch. C.C. was looking forward to the moment Lelouch could acquire enough power and take her Code from her, so she could die. That’s why she saved his ass a lot in R1 and perhaps at the very beginning of R2. Her wishes and her intentions morph very slowly, and at one point, perhaps even blended together -- half still wanted to die, the other half was slowly empathizing and caring for Lelouch.
But yes, none can deny that she stayed with him from start to finish.
C.C. could have left after Charles & Marianne died, and I don’t think Lelouch would have blamed her if she did -- considering it was obvious that he couldn’t fulfill his end of the contract anymore. But she stayed. She stayed and helped, and kept her promise to stay with him to the very end.
Lelouch & C.C.’s Age Gap
I hate it that people come at c.c.'s age and that she witness lelouch grow up like, is her immortality her fault? Like people are okay for male characters of 123456790 age falling for main girls in dramas or some animes for example but not okay if its c.c. lol
Lelouch & C.C.’s bizarre age-gap is literally not any different from an age-old vampire or any other immortal falling in-love with a human.
I can certainly point out plenty of stories that half this same massive age-gap, and its fans still love it.

Chuck vs. The Truth Part 1
"You ready?" You asked Chuck. " Maybe we're in over our heads." " It's time." " Sure it's not too dangerous?" " I'll be an inch away." " I'm scared." " Let's go over it again. Make sure we have our bases covered." "God, who'd thought going out to sushi with my sister and her boyfriend would make me so freaked out?" You and Chuck were inside the closet at Weinerlicious, trying to think of a story of why you and Chuck were away and not out doing a mission with Sarah and Casey the night before. " Okay. Last night we saw a movie." You start. " What was my snack of choice?" "Sprinkled milk duds over your popcorn. Come on, I'm your best friend. I should know what you like." you said smirking at him. "True enough." Chuck said with a little laugh. "What was I wearing?" "Green flowy top, little buttons." " Oh, you like that one?" " I like all of 'em. What movie were we... " Then there was a knock at the door. "Why is this door locked?" It was Sarah. You looked over at Chuck and unlocked the door. "Oh hey guys! Did I interrupt something?" Sarah said looking at you smirking. You blushed. "Uh no. No." "We're just going out tonight with my sister and her boyfriend and we are just trying to think of a story of why were were gone last night." "I see... Well! I will leave you two to it. But Y/N just a warning... the boss is coming around so you may wanna..." she said motioning to get moving. "Oh! Okay thank you!" You pulled Chuck out and walked outside with him real quick. "Well okay! I think we are all set for tonight then!" you said. "Yeah! We got this." "Of course we do! We're Chuck and Y/N. We have always been awesome." "Yeah we have..." Chuck said softly, smiling at you. "So I'll swing by and pick you up and we can meet Ellie and Devon at the restaurant." "Sounds good." "Alright. See you tonight Y/NN." "Bye Chuck." You then stepped forward and hugged him and then headed back inside work as Chuck smiled at you watching you walk back in and he headed back to his work.
Your Outfit:
Plans went just as followed and you were now at a sushi restaurant with Chuck, Ellie and Devon. While ordering, Chuck wanted to test himself and order your food to see if you knew you as well as he should. "Oh, and also, and also a... A crab hand-roll for the lady. Light wasabi, but like light-light, almost as if you just washed your hands and only the residue Of previous orders remains." You looked over at Chuck and smiled. "You did good." "Didn't realize how old-fashioned you were, Chuck." Devon said. " Oh, why? Cause I was ordering food for my girl? I-I mean my best friend?" Chuck said quickly correcting himself as you blushed. You never heard him call you his girl before. You just wished that was actually true. "Well, I guess I just know what she likes." "Well I hope you would after being best friends for over two decades." "She's got a point there." Ellie said smiling. "Yeah and thank you by the way Ellie, for inviting me to come along with you guys tonight. You didn't have to." "Oh I love being able to hang out with my brother and you, who like I have always said, is like a little sister to me." "Sure. But no, no. Old fashioned how slow you guys are taking things." " Devon... what?" You said staring at him. " I mean you guy are joined at the hip, but that's not where you're supposed to be joined. I mean it's like the east wing of our apartment has taken a vow of celibacy." "Y/N is my best friend!" "So!" "That is none of our business." Ellie said stepping in, trying to save the two of you." Um, edamame?" "Ooh yes please!" you said gently taking the bowl from Ellie. "Oh, your sleeve." you said when Ellie got it in some sauce. " Oh, shoot." You tried to help Ellie wipe it off. " Are you ever gonna retire that sweater, Ellie?" Chuck asked. "Hope not. It's my lucky sweater." " More like my lucky sweater." Devon said. "She was wearing it the first time I met Ellie in an epidemiology class... " "He told me that L.L. Bean must've stole the color from my eyes, so it really belonged to me." You and Chuck were both watching Ellie and Devon be all affectionate, both of you wishing you could be like that with each other.
"Thank you for dinner. " Ellie said walking up to Devon and kissing him as you all left the restaurant. Once again you and Chuck were watching them and both of you stole glances at each other, hoping one day you two can be like that with each other. "Well, you guys wait here. I'll get the car. I found a space around the corner." Devon said walking away. As you were waiting, you, Chuck and Ellie noticed a man stumbling around and then falling to the ground. Ellie quickly ran over to him, bending down. "Sir. Can you hear me? What is your name? Can you hear me, sir?" The ambulance quickly arrived as Ellie helped out. " Shallow respiration, steady pulse. Chuck!" Ellie called as he quickly ran over to her as she handed him the man's wallet. "Check... Check for medical ID." "Help me, please. Help me." The man kept repeating. "Just, just relax. We're doing everything we can." Ellie quickly got inside the ambulance as it began to drive away. "That's my sister. Eleanor Fay Bartowski! Saving that dude's life!" Chuck shouted proudly. As Chuck pulled out the man's ID, you looked over at it with him and then you both flashed. This man was bad news. "Uhhh... Chuck?" "That's my sister. Saving that bad dude's life." he said, now sounding terrified.

The Losers Club + Maine
i feel like as a mainer, it's my obligation to make this post, so here i am
disclaimer: for the purposes of this post I’m pretending that none of the losers left derry until graduating high school because the alternative makes me sad
* to start this off, in case you were wondering, yes it was extremely unnerving to watch it (2017) the first time. the foliage/town layout etc. looks exactly like where i live
* you can bet your ass at least one of them works at a local convenience store or grocery store as a teenager, probably Wallgreen’s or Cumberland Farms (my bet's on Richie)
* this means that summer is a fucking nightmare what with all the tourists from Massachusetts and Quebec (affectionately called "massholes" and "queebs")
* the movie did not exaggerate swearing. i'm sure it's like that in other places too, but mainers swear a LOT. especially teens. we're very liberal with our f-bombs
* halloween does sometimes get snowed out here. We have snow on halloween more often than on christmas
* one unrealistic thing about IT (seems kind of stupid to nitpick a supernatural horror movie but I’m going to anyway): the kids didn't complain about humidity a single time. The average mainer complains about this ten times basically every day of summer
* this is just occurring to me now but?? bev living in an apartment building is kinda weird.....we have apartments, but usually in very small house sized residences, not huge ones like we see in the movie (but derry is bigger than the town I live in so idk)
* bill’s stutter would absolutely get worse during the fall/winter (it gets cold as fuck where I live, and Derry is way farther north)
* The beach is fun, but the water is not. The water is fucking ice cold. We get a weird warm current once every like. 15 years
* stan, excitedly calling bill: bill!! this [book/movie/show/whatever] takes place in maine!!!
* bill: I k-know. The others a-already all c-c-called me
* ^ this was literally everyone at my school when once upon a time was really popular
* I'd like to formally apologize to mike for the amount of white people in maine (if any of you were watching the movie like “why is everyone white” the answer is that maine is 94% white people and i wish i was joking)
* mike, stepping outside in the middle of winter: oh! it's not that cold today!
* mike's grandfather: it's -3 degrees mike (yes this is a real interaction I’ve had)
* at LEAST one of the kids turns out to be a stoner like....there's one in almost every friend group here
* i can confidently say that one of the kids has ruined some piece of clothing with tree sap
* eddie is really twitchy during the spring cause that's when everyone starts freaking out about ticks
* ben, his first winter there: im so excited for it to snow!!
* all the other losers, dead inside:
* there are just. so many antique shops. like at least one or two per town
* so much camo. so. so much. you can pretty much guarantee that every asshole boy in high school wears camo and hunts with his dad
* you either love moxie and whoopie pies, or you hate them. end of story. there's no in between (the kids are very divided on this, blood has been spilled)
* 99% of kids/teens in maine own something by L.L. Bean, but don't remember buying it (not a single kid in chapter one had an L.L. Bean backpack??? that’s bullshit Mr. Muschietti)
* richie at ben's house for the first time, practically choking: oh god that's definitely not real maple syrup
* If you don’t know what that means, you’re definitely not from New England
* Wicked is an adjective in maine, and the kids use it ALL the time (i.e. wicked cold, wicked good, etc). The fact that this is in the book and not in any of the adaptations is a hate crime
* The kids, every time they walk by an old building: it's haunted
* Honestly? Any time they walk by any building. Everything in Maine is haunted and everybody knows it
* Someone over the internet, to one of the losers: is there internet in maine?? (this legitimately happened to my brother and I will never stop thinking about it)
* Fluff is the SHIT (the rest of the kids nearly had an aneurism when they found out that ben had never had any)
* I know they have it in more places now, but until like the 90s/early 200s it was only in New England and like. I think a few states in the midwest
* The squirrels are sometimes violent and will occasionally throw pine cones at you. and they hit HARD
* I don’t know if this is just a southern maine thing or if it goes for the whole state but the fucking chapter eleven furniture ad. I don’t know if there’s a video of it somewhere but literally everyone here makes fun of it. I have no idea when they started playing it, but according to my parents it was before I was born
* billboards are illegal in maine!! this doesn’t really have that much significance to the losers but i thought it might be a helpful note for those of you who write fics
* Bill goes (or maybe used to go? you tend to do it more when you’re younger) fishing with his dad. Don’t know why, I’m just feelin it
* At least three of the losers took french in high school, it’s the one that makes the most sense practically (I’m thinking eddie, mike, and ben)
* Richie absolutely took spanish. I don’t know why I feel so strongly about this but he did
* I love the idea of Stan taking latin, but I know a lot of high schools probably don’t offer that (mine did, but they also have greek and arabic so clearly they’re an outlier)
* Central maine is mostly trees, so there’s a sort of divide between southern and northern maine. This is probably why the politics are so different between the two (some people up in the most northern part of the state wear confederate flags like what the fuck is that about)
* Someone please write or draw anything that includes the losers apple picking. I know that’s not unique to maine (duh), but it is REALLY big here
* I genuinely don’t know how much of this is common knowledge because I’ve never left new england

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection SPOILERS!!
FOR LELOUCH x C.C. SHIPPERS!!! ❤️❤️❤️
IT’S FUCKING LELOUCH X C.C. END GAME!!!! \o/ MY 10 YR OLD SHIP HAS FINALLY SAILED!!! 😭😭😭 I AM SO EMOTIONAL AND HAPPY!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD EVER COME??!! I honestly wasn’t expecting the movie to even address anything romance wise, or just figured they’ll have a ‘safe’ harem ending. BUT OMG 10+ YRS LATER AND MY BABIES ARE TOGETHER. ❤️❤️❤️
Here’s some Lelouch x C.C. moments in chronological order.
- C.C is on the phone with Shirley, thanking for her help. Next to her is someone wearing a hat, the wind blows and the face is revealed to be Lelouch.
- Lelouch’s body is recovered but his mind is blank (child-like). There is also a geass mark on his chest. They travel around for a while trying to restore him.
- C.C being motherly and looks after Lelouch, cooking, carrying their luggage etc. Lelouch is unstable and has sudden outburst, C.C hugs and comforts him telling him that he won’t be harmed. (mirroring when Lelouch looked after C.C during her memory loss).
- They both enter C’s world to search for Lelouch’s soul/heart. While near the brink of death, Lelouch’s memories awakens and he uses his geass to order the enemies to die (again, mirroring the anime scene). He then tells C.C that he’s back “Tadaima, Shi-tsu” and C.C replies “Welcome back, Lelouch” “Okaeri, Lelouch”
- Not a LelouchxCC moment, but after getting injured, Suzaku wakes up to see Lelouch, there is some weird BL face touching going on xDD where he tries to confirm that Lelouch is really back, then proceeds to punch him.
- C’s world is destroyed, Nunnally is saved. After the victory, Nunnally wants her and Lelouch to go back to how they were before. C.C seeing Lelouch, Suzaku and Nunnally finally reunited decides to leave quietly. Kallen tells her that she doesn’t need to go, but C.C says that she is not needed here.
- Lelouch chases after C.C (out of breath after a few seconds LOL). He tells C.C. that he wants to go with her, C.C asks “what about Nunnally?”, Lelouch replies that Nunnally has grown up and he doesn’t need to worry anymore, the world no longer needs him.
- C.C then argues what if his name is exposed, Lelouch says he can be “Lelouch Lamperouge”, so how about “L.L.” “Eru-tsu” (lmao). C.C is shocked, and laughs. Lelouch and a teary C.C hold hands and walks off.
Lelouch.: 待てよ、おい 、C.C. ! / “Wait, Oi, C.C. !” C.C.: なんだ。忘れ物か ?/ “What? Did you forget something?” Lelouch.: 一緒に......行く / “Let’s go.....together.” END CREDIT: (images showing everyone after the movie)
- Lelouch calls Shirley after leaving, she is crying.
- Suzaku (in new zero outfit) stands at the special zone in front of candles (Euphy memorial). A cat is there.
- Jeremiah and Anya at an orange farm, Sayoko is on watch.
- Lelouch and C.C walking in crowd/traveling together. POST CREDIT: L.L & C.C IN COUPLE OUTFITS!!! (similar to the clamp illustration of them in black formal wear). Lelouch tells C.C that as long as he has the geass, she won’t die, Lelouch’s eyes are all red colored now. He then repeats the line C.C said to him that those with the power of geass are destined to be isolated to an unseen person (but it’s a little different, he says something about taking away the geass from those who are not prepared?).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Incase Lelouch’s “L.L.” thing wasn’t clear enough, the movie pamphlet from the screening basically spells out that IT WAS A PROPOSAL!! (Lelouch wanting to change his name to C.C’s, like a married couple taking on the other’s name.)
“It might be a little hard to understand, but in actuality this is Lelouch’s own way of proposing.” - Taniguchi
ALL HAIL LELOUCH X C.C. !!! 🎉🎉🎉

and possibly i like the thrill (of under me you quite so new)
~*~and possibly i like the thrill~*~
(of under me you quite so new)
pairing: richard madden/you
summary: it is so quite new a thing/or they've been friends for as long as they can remember, now – over the course of three days – they take the leap and become something more
rating: m
part two of three
[day two]
Eventually – after several glasses of orange juice and an incredibly cold shower – you had returned to the land of the living. Inside the shower, flashes of the night before had danced behind your heavy lids, making your cheeks flame in horror. Yes, you had grabbed and groped your oldest friend, your hands roaming freely and without care, as if he was yours to touch and cling to. Briefly you wondered if you could beg your brother Vijay to cook up some fake family emergency that you needed to go home for immediately, but you knew Richard would see through your flimsy excuse.
Also, Vijay would be no help at all. When it came to Richard his response – despite usually being entirely too over protective of you, as you were the baby – was always the same; ari, for the love of rati fucking shag him already!
Your cheeks flushed from the stray thought and then there's the familiar low rumble of Richard's chuckle, as he knocks on the door asking, “You didn't drown in there did ye?”
“Shut up!” You practically growl as you fling the door open, not realizing you hadn't put on one of the two large fluffy white robes the hotel provided.
“Ariana,” It's your imagination running away from you – clearly – because there's no way he said your name the way you hear it – husky and deep as it floats off his criminally plush lips, like a caress. Briefly, you swear the crystal of his eyes darkens to an intense sapphire and then he's clearing his throat and his eyes are drifting away from you, like he's forcing himself to look at anything but you and your brow furrows because what??????????
“Ana, uh, please,” His voice is strangled, like his throat is so tight he's having to force out each word. “You're...” He drifts off, still not looking at you and motions his hand at your body, making you look down and you realize your naked. You didn't even wrap a towel around yourself, you just opened the door with a flourish ready to attack because he was clearly making fun of your hangover and it wasn't fair that he got to wake up fresh as a daisy while you didn't all because he looked so good (like always) and you couldn't take it any more so you drank and drank, hoping you would forget about how you would always be his oldest mate, his best friend but not what you were so desperate to be.
“I'll, um,” He licks his lips, hand rubbing at the back of his neck nervously before he starts backing out of the bathroom. “Let you, uh, finish up.”
“Oh. My. God.” You mutter helplessly as you wrap yourself in your discarded towel, not caring that it's damp and you're mostly dry now. You cannot believe he just saw you naked.
That you were just standing there in front of him, completely unaware of your nakedness.
Maybe if you told Vijay this, he would help you because you didn't think you could look Richard in the eye.
*
flawless that's all Richard can think after closing the door and sitting on the bed, you're absolutely flawless. As his thoughts of you started to take on a more romantic direction, he always imagined the first time you were bared for him, you'd start off in some lacy thing – either the color of blush or a pale blue (both colors only enhancing the dark tone of your skin) – one strap slipping off your shoulder or your underwear, matching silk that cupped your perfect breasts and arse.
He didn't think his teasing would make you open the suite's bathroom door in a flourish and be standing there without a robe or towel covering you.
All he could see was skin... Smooth and silken, droplets from your shower clinging to your alluring collarbones, one sliding between your perky breasts and down the flat plane of your stomach. Your thighs were plush and inviting and what was between them even more so. Your sheet of inky black velvet hair did the thing it always had, curling at the ends into luscious waves and it was like a bucket of ice water had been dumped on him.
Your hair did that every time you swam, when the two of you took baths together as children, when you were caught in an unpredictable Scottish storm that rolled through without warning, always taking refuge under his umbrella.
He shouldn't be looking at you, his best friend, his oldest mate, like he wanted you. Like he wanted nothing more than to take hold of the tempting curve of your wispy waist and drag you against his body, feeling nothing but your softness.
That was what he wanted, what he was desperate for, but not you.
He was just Dickie and last night you were smashed beyond belief, that's why you glommed onto him and your hands were roaming freely and touching him as if he were yours.
He managed to slip from the room after you realized you were naked, your warm coffee eyes widening in horror and your cheeks flushing bright.
And while he was sure you wanted to do nothing more than forget what just happened, the image of you standing there – the sunlight streaming through the suite's window and into the bathroom, bathing you in a glow – hair curling at the ends, droplets clinging to the most luscious skin he'd ever seen, was something he would never forget.
Even if he was never supposed to see it in the first place.
*
Cannes was gorgeous. Even though your career had taken you all over the world, a new place – somewhere you had never imagined yourself being as a little girl who thought London was the most exotic place in the world – still made your eyes widen as you struggled to take in everything. You felt your cheeks warm as an errant thought drifted through your mind while walking the cobblestone streets along the Rivera, richard really makes it more so.
The awkwardness of the morning was behind both of you and now you were sightseeing before he had to be whisked away for the opening night of the festival.
“Come on, Holly,” There was his voice rich and deep in your ear, the bristles of his beard scratching along your cheek while his hand reached for yours. A shudder rushed through you, something you couldn't stop even if you tried, and your stomach was suddenly filled with butterflies.
“Very funny, George,” You teased back, all too aware of his Breakfast At Tiffany's reference. You were wearing your favorite pair of sunglasses, the ones made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the classic film, your favorite. They were Coach and the most expensive thing you had ever owned for a long time, a gift to yourself after you had gotten hired at Vogue.
You let him pull you in the direction he wanted, the bright glimmer in his crystal eyes too much for you to resist.
“Richard...” His name left your lips in a tremulous gasp while your hand pushing your sunglasses away from your face as you looked at the storefront of Chaumet – what you knew from your years at Vogue to be a very expensive jeweler – and then back at him.
“Don't,” His voice was stern as he shook his head, clearly prepared for your protest. “The last thing I bought you,” He sighs, running his fingers through his hair. “Was a wool blanket from that L.L. Bean catalog you sent me when I asked you what you wanted for your birthday.”
“Because you're a hedonist!” You yelp, remembering the ridiculously expensive navy blue cashmere blanket he had wanted to buy you from Harrod's because you mentioned you had worn out the throw your mother gave you for your tiny flat in Paris just after you had been hired at Vogue. “I didn't need a blanket that cost nearly a thousand pounds! You were being insane! And I love the wool blanket, you did buy,” You stick out your tongue, briefly before your voice goes soft. “It keeps me warm during the brisk winters so I don't have to wear my fuzzy socks to bed any more.”
“I prefer aesthete,” He remarks and you swallow thickly, his eyes darkening to the intense sapphire shade you remember from the morning. “There's nothing wrong with appreciating the finer things this world has to offer,” Your thighs clench underneath you from the heat behind his stare and the rasp of his voice and without protest, because you're not sure your legs actually work (they've become so weak), you let him pull you into the store.
*
He shouldn't... This is something he did for Jenna once upon a time, pull her off the street and into a boutique or jeweler and buy her something to watch those beautiful amber eyes become a glow and high cheekbones flush. This isn't something he should be doing for you, buying you an expensive bauble like you were his and he was yours. But he couldn't resist. Tonight you'd be there with him at the premiere and you deserved something beautiful and shimmering to go with your dress.
“What color is your dress?” He couldn't help but stand directly behind you, this intense need to be close to you, to breathe you in and have your scent – fresh freesia and summer rain – all around him.
“Rosee` as Evie,” The brief giggle tumbling from your lips in reference to his fashion obsessed younger sister made his stomach clench. You sounded nearly breathless and he wondered if he bent, just a hair's breath closer, his lips finding the slant of your neck, if you would make the sound again as he sucked here and there, taking special care of your pulse just to feel lit race beneath his lips. “Would say.”
He hands the clerk his charge card without a thought, despite you telling him – again and again – he doesn't have to do this, that you don't need jewelry, that no one will be looking at you anyway, but he knows you're wrong. The press and photographers won't necessarily know your name and you won't be walking the lengthy carpet like he and Taron and Dexter will, but he'll be looking at you. He knows you don't know that he's seen your dress, but when you were unpacking your suitcases he caught a glimpse.
Pure pink silk with delicate straps and a neckline that dipped dangerously low in his opinion.
He wouldn't be able to look at anyone but you.
And the bracelet that was being boxed up right now was the perfect compliment to your dress.
A dress he knew he would never forget seeing.

idk if you want to answer this but I've come across a theory several times now and I'd like to know your opinion: B creates 'Ryuzaki'. L adopts some of B's 'Ryuzaki' traits. L is still naturally quirky but he amplifies his weirdness. Thoughts?
Short answer: No
Long answer:
The biggest problem with theories like that, is that “Another Note” and “Death Note” were written by different people and I don’t think at all that AN is anywhere near the level of canon the manga is. This is actually a good thing, because otherwise we would have a lot of annoying contradictions (AN is filled with them already, lol) and I’d rather not have that.
So I could make this relatively short and point to what we have in the manga about the LABB case, which is this scene:
A case L hardly even remembers, since he has to google Naomi first, even though it was only one and a half years ago.
I tend to not believe that we’re supposed to read a book - not written by Obha/Obata - about a case L probably doesn’t even care about, to understand why L is so “eccentric” or “more eccentric than he naturally was even though he still is a bit weird”.
Not to mention that AN!L isn’t exactly like manga!L to begin with. If we don’t even consult HTR13, B isn’t canon at all. He’s briefly mentioned in the HTR13 as someone who “challenges L, a man he admires” (l o l). In the manga, there’s only a “perpetrator” of the “Los Angeles BB Serial Murder Case”.
The manga doesn’t offer an explanation to why L is the way he is and, really, do we even need one? A lot of characters use codenames, a lot of characters have strong personalities, Mello and Near are just as “quirky”, so why should L’s personality need an explanation when no one’s else does? The manga doesn’t ask why L is “weird” while “Another Note” asks us all kind of questions about who’s “Ryuzaki”. Chances are, the answer is not one to a question the manga doesn’t ask. We, as the readers, made that an issue and maybe there’s nothing to solve. Seriously, I think that’s a perspective not enough people think about.
I do, however, believe that everyone can decide on their own how seriously they take “Another Note”. So let’s talk about the novel:
The theory doesn’t work without first!L (except if you want the most vague concept of “L” possible, maybe). And, uh, I don’t want to kill anyone’s mood but *whispers* he doesn’t exist. In HTR13 Ohba and Obata famously talk about the changes in L’s design, but ok, you don’t have to take HTR13 seriously either, if you really don’t want to. We can all just look at the actual story in the manga and wonder why L’s face, shoulders, neck, and hair suddenly look different even before he decided to show his face to the task force. Why not.
Anyway, let’s pretend for a moment that first!L does exist, despite everyting pointing towards the opposite direction; what does first!L do?
Well…… He’s barefoot, crouching on the floor, wearing jeans and a simple shirt… Oh wait! That’s mostly stuff B does, as Ryuzaki, too. Did B, by change, create a persona that closely resembles first!L?!
Or does B already know a thing or two about L? “Another Note” is weird and dumb and confusing and tells us that B has never met L (which doesn’t bother me that much, considering how shit B’s L impression is, haha), but let’s look at this quote:
“If L’s a genius then B’s an extreme genius. If L’s a freak, then B’s an extreme freak. Now it’s time to get ready. There are things I must do before B can surpass L. Henh henh henh henh.”
B thinks L is a freak (”a genius and a freak” makes it clear that his freakishness is something seperate from his brilliance as a detective). Why? Because he knows that he’s weird. Somehow. Even if he didn’t met him. And this simultaneously tells us why B’s impersonation of L is so shite and totally over-the-top: B wants to be the extreme freak. B wants to surpass L’s level of brilliance and weirdness (don’t ask me why). L doesn’t soften B’s quirks, B amplifies L’s.
And I know people who believe in the Ryuzaki Persona theory tried to discredit this quote:
There was something about him that reminded her of Rue Ryuzaki—of Beyond Birthday. But the resemblance was backward, like this was the original, and the other had been a copy.
But, uh, I, for one, think it’s pretty straightforward. There’s nothing vague about it in my opinion, and I’m convinced it isn’t some secret brain twister. By now, we’re supposed to already know that Ryuzaki isn’t actually L. We’re at the end of the novel and Mello (who met L in person) tells us through Naomi what happened. It would be completely redundant to tell us that “B imitated L” even more obviously. (By the way, L has never seen B as Ryuzaki and Naomi doesn’t even describe him to L - she only tells L vaguely that he’s “weird”, which seems to upset L.)
Thankfully, we have another quote like the one above (this time directly from Mello):
I need hardly explain again that the murders themselves were not his purpose. So what was he doing? Again, I hardly need to explain—he was challenging the man he copied, the century’s greatest detective, L.
“Copying” implies more than just challenging someone in a detective war. “Copying” doesn’t mean that B wants to become L - he doesn’t - and it doesn’t mean that he’s “copying” his investigative methods, because, again, he actually doesn’t.
But okay, cool, let’s pretend B copied L and then L copied some of the quirks B added (?). Which ones? His love for sweets? His bad posture?
A burden so great it would leave you hunched over. A bitter taste in your mouth that would leave you longing for sweets.
That’s how Mello describes L.
The dark circles under his eyes?
There were lines under his (L’s) eyes so dark she wondered if they were actually done with makeup. Like he hadn’t slept in days—or like he had never slept in his life. Like his sense of justice would not allow him time to sleep, since he had so many difficult cases to think about, battling unfathomable pressure on a daily basis.
Again, Mello - via Naomi - disagrees. Mello has some weird theories indeed, but since the novel paints L as waaay more sympathetic than the manga does anyway, I’m pretty sure we’re meant to believe him here. (Not to mention that the manga tells us very clearly that L has some weird sleeping habits.)
By the way, I’ve seen this line -:
There were lines under his eyes so dark she wondered if they were actually done with makeup.
- quoted out of context, which is pretty dishonest. The novel goes on to explain us why L looks like that and even very clearly contrasts it to B:
Still grinning to himself, he (B) faced the mirror, brushed his hair, and began applying his makeup.
He probably sleeps pretty sound at night. Another interesting B & L contrast:
Apparently he (B) was capable of consuming non-sweet things too.
Yes, unlike L. B is willing to break his act then and now, L is canonically very uncompromising .
And B also picked the name “Rue Ryuzaki” specifically to fit his entire L masquerade:
B approached Naomi Misora, calling himself Rue Ryuzaki. Rue Ryuzaki– L.L. For anyone from Wammy’s House, there could be no higher goal than identifying yourself with that letter—andBeyond Birthday seized this case as his chance.
Everything about “Ryuzaki” is about L.
You know, I’ve talked about this before, but beside the fact that L’s quirks are added gradually - and not with a BANG! for the task force or whatever - L’s crouch, L’s posture, L eating and drinking lots of sugary stuff, L biting his fingers, L having dark circles under this eyes - all of that is heavily connected to L’s emotions, thoughts, and general personality in the manga. Stress, feeling depressed, fear, even joy; all of that makes L intensify his crouch, makes him bite his nails, makes him show some weird facial expressions, or eat some more cake. Not the other way around, like, y’know, you would expect from someone who puts on an act.
All the nice little details about L’s character tell us so much about him. Obha and Obata beautifully use them to give us some hints about his psyche, and taking that away from L makes him incredibly hollow. While B’s “Ryuzaki” act is alllll about his L obsession. If you take that away from B, he becomes hollow as well.
Yes, L utilises his quirks to confuse people and he’s a liar, but that’s got nothing to do with B.
Conclusion: B is obsessed with L. L doesn’t seem to care all that much about B. He contributes very little to the case (it would be fair to say that Naomi solves the case), the manga implies that he doesn’t even really remember it, first!L is not real, and I’m tired.

My first post—a reaction to a college article based on my experience!
Hello everyone! I’ve had some ideas floating around recently and decided this would be a good place for them to live. I’d love to make a college video someday but this will do for now :) I hope to make a few more posts reacting to articles in the weeks before I go back!
Article 1 can be found here: https://www.phonesoap.com/blogs/news/college-bound-dorm-room-essentials
My thoughts:
Apple computers can definitely be good for personal use! However, if you are majoring in something related to computers, some commands and software may be different. Also, if you need to use Microsoft Office products frequently, they are not a good choice! The iOS versions lack many features.
I agree that your laptop should not be too heavy—my 15.6” tends to be wayyyy too much to carry around all day. Go for the 13 ish inch instead! And don’t get an iPad for classes, opening documents posted by your professors and typing will likely be very difficult!
Noise-cancelling headphones are something almost no one wears! You will get used to sharing space with a lot of strangers and learn to tune them out. Plus, there is always the option of quiet study areas where someone will most likely fight whoever tries to make noise. It’s probably a good idea to purchase a standard pair of earbuds for $10 or so, just in case you need to listen to something on a public computer or your laptop. I left my Apple ones in the library and unfortunately they quickly grew legs!
These backpacks look kind of cheap to me, plus I doubt the USB charging feature would hold up considering the price. You need to get a backpack that is comfortable to carry around campus loaded with stuff (including your laptop and books) all day! Brands that I see frequently are L.L. Bean, High Sierra, The North Face, Columbia, and occasionally Jansport. It’s probably a good idea to spend around $50 on something you know will hold up! As for charging, I always have a portable charger in my backpack just in case. If you get a long enough cord for the charger, you can throw the device in your backpack and use your phone while walking and charging! Voila!
I actually don’t have any complaints about this second power strip. Mine is longer and has 6 outlets (probably easier to find too), but it really makes no difference. Try to find a power strip with a long cord though! Extension cords usually are not allowed in dorms, so having the option of extending the outlets a little away from the ones in the wall could be a nice option.
I don’t think a Fitbit is essential for college, but it’s definitely a nice touch! I got one for Christmas and was able to use it for the second semester. I liked the option of silent alarms and seeing just how many steps I got walking around campus. However, I would still set an alarm clock or phone as a backup! I slept through my Fitbit alarm once before and thankfully woke up just in time.
I don’t see how a kindle is useful for books. If you don’t want the physical book, buy the ebook/access from the publisher or Amazon (often cheaper than the bookstore). You will appreciate the bigger screen of your laptop after hours of staring!
I do recommend cleaning your phone, but there is no need for a special device. I personally use alcohol wipes, sold by the 100 for $1 at Walmart. They can be used to clean my Fitbit too!
I don’t think buying a huge over the bed rack like this is worth it. Then you need to build it and have something else sticking out into your already limited space! Something like this could be a little more useful if you’re in a suite with a bathroom and need a shelf for toiletries.
If there are things you aren’t currently wearing that are being stored in your dorm, borrow a vacuum from an RA and seal them in some space bags! They shrink down to much smaller than this storage container would ever allow.
Again, I think this cart would be useful in a suite bathroom, but not if you’re sharing one with more people.
I thought the collapsible hamper took up more space than needed since I also have a laundry basket. Either get a laundry bag with a handle or some kind of string to carry it by or use a laundry basket. This hamper can be carried to the laundry room, but it’s kind of tall and awkward for that. It’s much easier to put the dirty clothes directly into whatever you’ll carry to the laundry room!
I rely more and more on Google Calendar with its email reminders and computer and phone push notifications! I also have a small paper calendar, but it’s mostly for decoration. A calendar in your dorm won’t be handy when you need to schedule something with someone out in public!
I don’t think anyone has ever showed up to college without shower shoes. These ones with the holes are a little extra but you do you. I just bought some $1 ones to throw out since I definitely didn’t want to bring those home. Get cheap slippers too! You step in too much to keep shoes like that. Speaking of stepping, I wouldn’t recommend a bath mat. It’ll soak up everyone else’s shower puddles. Gross!
A shower caddy is a must! I completely agree with this one.
I would recommend getting whatever the cheapest, smallest first aid kit you can find is. Again, this one is probably a little extra. You’ll probably be flying through band aids more than anything (lots of blisters from walking) and can easily replace those.
I...don’t know what you’re fixing with a toolkit, unless you bought those shelves you built yourself. Any dorm furniture can be fixed by the maintainence people in your building! Just fill out a work order form.
You absolutely need some kind of reusable water bottles, especially if your campus has tons of refilling stations like mine! A $30 one probably isn’t a good idea though, since you will most likely forget it somewhere and end up crying. Spending $10+ on one and not relying on free ones from activities is a good idea, though.
The tips at the end are pretty cool, so read them!
I hope you all enjoyed this! See you again soon :)

Holiday Advertising
I expected this season’s holiday ads to be very promotions oriented with heavy emphasis on sales, discounts, and other incentives to shop. In a challenging Christmas shopping season, brands knew in advance that it would be a “stay at home” holiday season and consumer spending would shift from experiential gifts to more practical and relevant gifts centered around spending our winter at home.
As I watched the holiday advertising, I was surprised at how fun and uplifting some of the ads were. Two brands that were notable for connecting with consumers in a positive way were Gap and L.L. Bean. Here are the things I liked about both brand’s advertising:
Gap
“Dream the future” campaign:
https://www.facebook.com/GapInc/videos/gaps-dream-the-future-holiday-campaign/284253722647409/
This Gap campaign is filled with happy people and smiling faces. The people are interacting while keeping their distance. The positive thoughts and emotions displayed in the ad are obvious as each person in the ad represents an emotion through signs. Of course, everyone in the ad is wearing the new, colorful Gap collection.
This ad is very uplifting, colorful, and fun. The ad is inclusive and the message is relevant because the emotions and sentiments communicated in the ad are the things we all crave and value now: connection, hope, cozy, community, peace etc. From a brand strategy point of view, the ad demonstrates the new apparel and the “Gap look”. I think the brand will become more relevant this winter because casual wear is in high demand and the WFH patterns will continue for many people.
I like the dancing and music in the ad because it adds a creative element that gets our attention and lightens up the reminder that we are still experiencing a stay at home pattern in our lifestyles. I also think the entertainment value is high because the dancing is great in this ad!
As part of this campaign, Gap created a very short commercial called “Hibernation Chic Family”. This is also relevant to our holiday at home. In a very positive way, Gap introduces “stay at home” clothes that are stylish and chic. For those of us that are getting tired of working and attending online classes in hoodies and pajamas, more chic, casual apparel is just right for now. I believe Gap’s timing for this message is perfect!
In my opinion, the most entertaining content in this campaign is a series of ads featuring Lil Buck and Myles Yachts. Their unique dancing style adds to the artistic elements of the ad. The dancing gets our attention and the look of these influencers gives the brand a very cool and stylish look; something that Gap has lacked in the past.
The new colorful and chic casual wear displayed in the ads may inspire us to take a look at Gap clothes as many people continue with WFH for the next several months.
L.L. Bean
“Be an Outsider” campaign:
L.L. Bean’s “Be an Outsider” campaign is not new. However, the execution of the message has changed and has a strong connection to outside activity with small groups i.e. be an outsider with your family. L.L. Bean clearly lucked out in regards to the Covid restrictions because outdoor enthusiasts (their target market) can still participate in most outdoor activities. There is significantly more appeal to being outside in a “stay at home” holiday season of social distancing and there is a general consensus among all of us that is safer being outside with others than indoors with others. L.L. Bean’s new execution and focus on presenting the right clothes for doing winter activities outside is simple but very strategic: you can be outside longer and more often if your apparel keeps you warm. The scotch plaid flannel shirt and the iconic L.L. Bean fleece showcased with heartwarming scenes of families enjoying outside activities connects emotionally with families.
Another interesting part of the execution is the music. It was very unexpected and not typical for L.L. Bean advertising. The music adds entertainment value, resonance and relevance. Chery’s Lynn’s “Got to Be Real” is an old song, but is uplifting and relevant to the message for the authentic brand for the outdoors.
https://www.ispot.tv/ad/n9Pg/ll-bean-scotch-plaid-flannel-shirts-made-for-this-song-by-cheryl-lynn
I recommend watching a similar execution in this campaign with Fleetwood Mac’s song,” Everywhere”. The tagline “Give Comfort, Share Joy” is very effective at communicating the benefit of comfort with L.L. Bean apparel. As we begin an uncertain winter season, comfort will be on our minds.
https://www.ispot.tv/ad/tqFN/ll-bean-holidays-comfortable
L.L. Bean’s uplifting message in a time of restrictions and inability to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s with our usual traditions is a reminder that we can embrace the outdoors and that the outdoors can give us some relief. With few exceptions, we can enjoy being outside and we can participate in outdoor activities this winter. However, we can enjoy the outdoors better with the right (and authentic) outdoors brand. This campaign refreshes an old brand and reinforces L.L. Bean’s value proposition of being the authentic, original, outdoors brand.

BED SHEET
When looking for new bed sheets you rapidly understand that there are something other than a couple of choices. Gone are the times of straightforward white, cotton sheets. Presently you are offered various materials, prints, hues, designs, string checks, and sizes. The most favored material is that of cotton, however on the off chance that you live in a zone where the winters are cool, at that point claiming a quality arrangement of wool sheets will help keep you warm around evening time. Glossy silk, silk and microfiber are viewed as extravagance bed sheets and no doubt not utilized consistently by they dominant part of us.
The Scent-Sation Charmeuse Satin ($120/sovereign set) are exceptionally well known among those that like the sentiment of glossy silk sheets, however they are costly. Silk sheets are not my style, however they are intriguing to rest on in any event once in your life. The genuine issue with silk bed sheets is that they you have to take incredible consideration with them and the washing cycle isn't justified, despite any potential benefits. I generally figure out how to recoil up a portion of my cotton sheets so I can just envision what I would do to silk sheets. The Scent-Sation Satin sheets can be machine washed and dried creation them a decent option in contrast to fundamental cotton sheets.
Sheets Buying Guide
- I live in Oregon so the winters remain crisp well into the period of March so we as a rule put on wool sheets beginning in November and change out a few sets we purchased from LL Bean. Their Warm Feelings Flannel sheets sell for about $100 for a sovereign set and are entirely tough. Searching for sheets that are "green" as in useful for nature. Consider the Wamsutta Zen Comforts ($70/sovereign set) which are produced using bamboo. By pulping bamboo grass you can isolate the strands and make bamboo texture. They are horticulturally amicable since they are developed w/out pesticides and hold up well from contracting (inclined to that) when blended in with a mix of cotton. String checks are a profoundly utilized term on paper and TV advertisements for bed sheets yet specialists state you have to look for bogus cases and not to stress if the brand you pick is certainly not a 1000 danger tally. Danger check "alludes to the quantity of strings per square inch in the two ways of the weave" says Coral Nafie, the master manage for bed sheets.
Despite the fact that she proceeds to state that "higher string checks" mean a "more lavish feel" it can likewise prompt early wear. She suggests going with string tallies over 250 and no under 175. Purchaser Reports beds sheet audits and studies intermittently in which they rate sheets on quality and shrinkage. Great Housekeeping is another magazine that reliably gives criticism on which sheets play out the best after some time. We are a family that experiences sensitivities so we regularly shop online at the Allergy Buyers Club and purchase dependent on their proposals. Children sheets have the greatest print assortment with determination that extend from Star Wars, Hello Kitty, Spiderman, and Pokemon to zebra stripes, polka specks, and High School Musical.
All the significant retail chains like JC Penney, Macy's, Target, Wal-Mart, and Bed, Bath and Beyond convey name brand sheets and house brands. You can discover architect bed sheets in stores like Macy's for brands like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger. Most additionally gracefully sheets for waterbeds. What happens to most sheets after the primary wash or 2 is that they recoil up by as much as 7% leaving you with ultra tight sheet material that is difficult to jump on and off. Better quality sheets will in general therapist less during the first washings when they are more vulnerable to this. You can peruse the smash hit bed sheets online here.
Best Cotton Bed Sheets:
You may feel that the Egyptian cotton sheets with a 400 string tally are justified, despite all the trouble, yet at near $500 for a set, you are likely happier with a percale cotton sheet with danger checks somewhere in the range of 180 and 200. Percale texture is accessible as 100% cotton or in a 50/50 mix with cotton and polyester. Pima or supima cotton has a string check from 200-300 and they are fundamentally the same as in quality to the Egyptian cotton that has higher string tallies. Specialists state that the site offers some phenomenal choices with TC (string checks) of 300 or better at sensible costs. They convey extravagance brands like Frette, Peacock Alley, Mascioni, Dwell and Wamsutta.
The Signature Scalloped Percale Bedding by Garnet Hill are exceptionally evaluated by purchasers and specialists in this field and sell for around $135 for a sovereign set. They are woven with 220 strings for every square inch, sturdy, and simple to think about creation them the ideal pair of bed sheets for those that like the delicateness of cotton. You can arrange them online. Suggested - The #1 vender on is the Renaissance 600 Thread-Count Woven Stripe Sheet Set $40 accessible in King, Queen, or California King sheet sizes. You can browse 8 unique hues to coordinate your room stylistic theme. Incorporates a level sheet, fitted sheet, and two standard estimated pillowcases. Proprietors state they are extravagance 600 string check (like lodging quality) sheets that are truly tough.
First class Bamboo Sheets:
The Wamsutta's Zen Comforts bamboo bed sheets which are a 60/40 (bamboo/cotton) split with a 300 string tally and a delicate vibe. The fitted sheets will fit beddings up to 18" profound. The accessible hues are white, ivory, and dew drop (green). Proprietors state they are entirely breathable and hold their shape well even after a few washings. The sovereign sets sell for $69.99 and the lord set for $79.99. The site is another source that we believe with regards to eco-accommodating items and they recommend the Bamboo Fiber Yarn, 230 Thread Count sheets sold at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $89.99/sovereign set. They are made with 100% bamboo fiber yarn so they are more inclined to shrinkage than teh Wamsutta's Zen Comforts which have a cotton mix to them. Look at all bamboo sheet sets here.
Wool Sheets:
In the event that you need warmth and solace on those chilly, stormy evenings, at that point the L.L. Bean Warm Feelings Flannel sheets are great. We purchased 2 sets a year ago so we could burn through them and consistently have a second arrangement of sheets around on the off chance that one was in the clothes washer. They come in blue, elm, ivory, lake, material, and pink hues. They run about $85 for a sovereign set and are offered in twin, full, and ruler measures also. The site portrays them as the "delicateness of heathered yarns with the glow of chamois". Target and JC Penney additionally convey fine quality wool sheets for about $40/set. BEST - Go with the top selling Pinzon 190 Gram Velvet Flannel Sheet Set accessible in 6 hues and 3 sizes (lord, sovereign, cal ruler). The ideal arrangement of sheets that will keep you warm in the colder months.

But What Clothes Do You Truly Wear?
Most of us have more clothes than we need, and while there’s always that temptation to get more, the truth is only a small portion of our wardrobes make up our everyday wear. Vogue ran a story about this earlier this year, where they asked their editors which pieces they pull out most often from their mountain of options. I decided to pose the same question to some of my favorite people in the menswear industry. With what we assume are ginormous wardrobes in their closets, what clothes do they truly wear on a daily basis? Yesterday we covered four modern style icons -- here’s a look at the personal daily habits of four more.
Michael Hill, Creative Director at Drake’s
The things I reach for the most aren’t terribly interesting, but hopefully they come together in an interesting way. I mostly wear my unlined suede chukkas and unlined shell cordovan penny loafers from Alden. I like grey flannels and heavy corduroys a lot. I mostly wear long-point, oxford-cloth button-downs, particularly in blue and white stripes. Ties tend to be either blue or green. I love tweed jackets. I have two in solid navy and solid green, but the others are patterned sport coats in earthy browns.
The one thing that might be unusual is my love for cotton suits, particularly in bright blues and drab olives. Wool is a wonderful fiber -- it keeps its shape, it has a spring to it, and it can look well pressed. I love cotton suits for all the reason why people hate them. They’re stiff, they crumple, the color fades. I can picture my cotton suit sitting on the end of my rail at home now. The way the sleeves curl, it looks like my arms are in them, and the sleeves will probably stay like that even after the jacket has been cleaned. If you get one in a heavy drill cotton, the fabric almost moulds to your body. That’s the wonderful thing about cotton suits. They’re casual and age with you, much like a good pair of jeans.
I also love my M-65 jacket. I wear it over tailored clothing, but also casually. It’s an easy go-to and great for travel. There are so many big pockets, you almost don’t even need a bag. I live on a farm out in the countryside in Devonshire, so waxed cotton Barbour jackets and bucket hats are useful.
There are also some things here and there I usually reach for on the weekend. A pair of taupe-colored needlecord pants I bought in Japan; some Chromexcel moccasins from the New England Outerwear Company, which have these rubber outsoles. They’re such brilliant casual pieces. I wear a lot of sturdy knitwear, such as Shetlands and sweatshirts. I don’t like knits that feel too luxurious and fine. One odd thing about sweatshirts is that I don’t like them in the more classic grey. My wife wears my grey ones now, but the color doesn’t work for me. I’m too pasty. Instead, I like them in olive and indigo.
Lastly, I have a few nice watches, but I mostly just wear things from Swatch. I have a few semi-translucent ones in bright colors such as green, yellow, and orange. I also have a few solid colors as well. I love when they do the really simple ones in solid colors. Yellow is my favorite color, but it doesn’t do well against my skin. I think I can away with it on my wrist though.
Ethan Newton, Co-Founder of Bryceland’s
My day-to-day wardrobe changes according to where I am, but I always have a few things that I call my sartorial comfort food.
The first is a Stetson Stratoliner from the 1950s. As a big baldy with a tendency to squint his eyes and get sunburnt, I’m rarely without a lid on my noggin. And while I have some amazing custom pieces from a few great makers, there’s something about this soft, broken-down piece of Silverbelly Beaver that I can’t seem to replicate. I wear it with everything from three-pieces suits to rayon shirts paired with denim and boots. Its versatility comes from never being too perfectly matched with whatever I’m wearing.
I also get a lot of wear out of my navy blazer. The idea of a staple navy jacket has been repeated ad-nauseam, but the simple fact is that it really is useful. I have a full-handed, reasonably heavy jacket made in a basket-weave Sportex fabric by Dormeuil. The fabric’s crunch and solidity make it perfect for everything from grey flannels and wide-waled, wheat cords, to my favorite P44 USMC cargos and busted-down 501s. If I had the time, I would get another navy sport coat in Fox Flannel’s amazing 430g basket-weave jacketing -- a fabric that has such structure that it seems to always fall like iron.
Finally, I’m always carrying my world around with me, from my smokes to my camera to whatever book I’m reading at the time. I use our Bryceland’s leather tote for these purposes, which is based off a vintage L.L. Bean tote my business partner Kenji found. It’s simply built from a soft, but sturdy leather, and the tan color works well with black or brown accessories. It’s simple, rugged, and utilitarian -- what I hope as a brand we stand for -- and the simplicity of the design lends itself well to customization. I’ve adorned mine with vintage silver pieces and a bandana at the handle.
George Wang, Founder of BRIO
I think most people buy for versatility, but people in the clothing trade often have much more extensive wardrobes. Still, we live in the real world and often fall into a repetitive lifestyle, just like everyone else. Only a small portion of my wardrobe is used on a daily basis.
In the spring and summer months, I wear a lot of cotton and linen button-down shirts, as well as open-weave voile shirts in light blue. My most used jackets tend to be navy single- and double-breasted sport coats. They pair well with gray Fresco trousers, which are useful given how hot summers can get in Beijing. Beige is also a great summer color. I wear a cream silk-linen sport coat with navy trousers, as well as beige linen trousers with navy jackets. Blue cotton suits can also be great.
To dress down tailored clothing, I like long-sleeved knitted polos. They work in either light or dark colors. And on weekends, I’m usually just in sweats, shorts, or jeans. For shoes, I mostly rely on my unlined, brown calfskin Edward Green penny loafers and shell cordovan Alden loafers -- either tassels or pennies.
Naturally, fall and winter are about heavier fabrics. I wear a lot of tweed once the weather gets cold -- sport coats in green Game Keepers tweed, brown herringbone tweed, and grey Donegal tweed. Navy serge blazer is nice for a slightly sharper, crisper look. Trousers tend to be either grey flannel or beige cavalry twill. If I need to wear suits for business, it’s usually a grey thornproof single-breasted suit this time of year, or a heavy, blue worsted double-breasted.
There are also just some things I find are useful for both keeping warm and looking stylish. A thick, rollneck sweater in either cream or navy; a waxed cotton Barbour jacket. If I need a coat to throw over tailored clothing, it’s usually my grey herringbone Ulster coat or camel-colored polo. I have a Woolrich arctic parka I rely on a lot for weekends. Shoes are still mostly Alden, but I also wear my brown suede oxfords from Edward Green a lot. They go well with suits.
Gabriel Öberg Bustad, Manager at Skoaktiebolaget
Unfortunately, when trying to describe my personal style, I find my description often sounds dull and lacking in personality. Nevertheless, I like classic and conservative clothing, typically with muted, subtle colors and few (if any) patterns or details standing out. I love balance and harmony in my clothing, and look for things that are in keeping with my calm personality. I love to have the opportunity to work with skilled craftsmen and women who enhance my good sides and assist me in hiding or mitigating my not-so-good sides.
Summers are short here in Northern Europe, so I’ve prioritized my fall and winter wardrobe. For comfort and style, I can’t stress enough how useful it is to have a classic, double-breasted overcoat in navy. I have one from Sartoria Corcos in Florence, Italy, which is made from a wool-cashmere blend overcoating. The blend gives the fabric a softer touch, but it’s still insulating enough for our Scandinavian weather. I’m a huge fan of trench coats for the same purposes, particularly for fall. I own four of them in different colors.
For sport coats, I find my brown houndstooth sport coat is very versatile. It’s made from a cashmere fabric woven by Zegna. I wear it with mid-gray wool flannel trousers and brown, apron-toe derbies from Saint Crispin’s (it’s their 633 model). The three are easy to wear, classic, and stylish, and look great together or with other things.

Vacation Ideas For Couples: 39 Awesome Places To Visit With Your Partner
1Seoul, Korea
Seoul is not only a perfect destination for the couple that’s all about city life—within city limits there are green spaces and mountains, offering hiking, outdoor sports (the couple that sweats together, stays together), and perfect picnic spots.
But back to the more urban aspects. Seoul is known for its nightlife
. And what better way to bond than over late night karaoke or getting adventurous with some delicious street food?
Best of all, Seoul can be enjoyed on the cheap, though you might want to avoid the more upscale Cheongdam-dong and Gangnam if you’re trying to save your pennies.
2Prague, Czech Republic
Prague snags a spot on the list because of its dream-like surroundings. This is a city to walk hand-in-hand with someone you love and just soak it all in: the bridges, the old churches…it’s like being in a living, breathing fairy tale (for more storybook charm, see #29).
If classical music moves you, go take in some Mozart with your girl and cap off the evening with some local beer—Prague is thought to have some of the best brews in Europe.
3Portland, Oregon (USA)
For couples looking for something a little bit more laid back and offbeat, I want to throw Portland into the mix.
The city has some great food—both high-end dining and incredible food truck options—with an emphasis on local ingredients. (And if you’re anything like me, the way to my heart is through my stomach.)
In addition to a burgeoning culinary scene, I’d recommend taking advantage of the amazing people-watching opportunities here. It’s built-in conversation all around you. Grab a cup of coffee (Portland has some of the best in the country) and browse through books and records with your new lady friend (or fellow), while keeping your eyes on the quirky folks in their natural habitat.
4Paris, France
This is a more familiar entry for those of you feeling a little skeptical about the romantic potential of Portland or Prague.
I don’t think I really need to do much by way of explaining why Paris would make a great destination for romance, but in a nutshell: small, winding streets; sidewalk cafes; good wine; candlelight.
Paris sort of sells itself here.
5Buenos Aires, Argentina
Travel down South America way to Buenos Aires, home of the tango, the forbidden dance.
In appearance, the city is rather European, but the flavor is totally South American. Buenos Aires is a passionate place—it’s sexy, bright, and always going. This is a place to give in to pleasure. There is food from all over the world (in addition to the famous, juicy Argentinian grilled steaks) and the city never sleeps.
So, eat, dance, drink—really live it up—while you’re here.
6New England, USA
Rent a car and drive around the northeastern part of the United States with your sweetie.
Save this excursion for the fall months: for whatever reason, leaves are really romantic. As can be hiking, some light antiquing, eating real maple syrup drizzled all over some freshly-made pancakes, and staying in a quaint bed & breakfast.
This is also a really good opportunity to wear flannel (see #7 on the list).
7Venice, Italy
There is something so desperately romantic about a city fated to drown…
That, and the food, the masks, the fog; the grandeur. Venice is all about fantasy and opulence. Between the prosecco and the secret passageways dotting the Gothic palaces, this mysterious city is ripe with sex appeal.
8Kyoto, Japan
Kyoto is a perfect place for a spring getaway. At this time of year, the cherry blossoms frame the classic Japanese architecture and distant mountains. There is a beautiful serenity and sense of tradition in this former capital city.
If you and your SO need to hit the reset button from the stresses of work and cramped city living, peace is only a plane ride away.
Bonus: Kyoto has become a foodie destination. Both haute cuisine and classical Japanese faire shine here.
9San Sebastian, Spain
With the mountains of the Basque region in the background, this beach town in the Bay of Biscay sort of has everything. By day, you and bae can surf, play in the sand, or meander around the charming town.
When the sun goes down, things get sultry. The city has a very lively nightlife and also seems to be a magnet for Michelin stars. (Go to town on food here—from pinxtos (tapas) to fine dining, any extra pounds you two put on will be worth it.)
10Montreal, Quebec (Canada)
Set on an island in the St. Lawrence River in Québec, Canada, Montréal has become a go-to North American destination for culture—be it art, food, architecture, music, or cinema.
While you’re there, go to a museum or simply take in the street art, and be sure to go to a concert. There are about a billion music festivals that take place in the city—there’s always some type of live music to see, whatever your taste. There is something really special about experiencing new music or art with someone you’re into.
Tip: This is another great place to get your eat on: from rich French food, traditional Canadian faire (think: poutine), to pretty much every other international cuisine you can imagine, Montréal is doing it, and doing it well (extra points if you picked up on that L.L. Cool J. reference).
11Tulum, Mexico
Tulum is an eco-paradise on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, not far from its more famous sister city, Cancún. Unlike that perennial Spring Break party spot, Tulum is quieter, less crowded, less expensive, and is known for its commitment to holistic living and the environment.
Whether you choose to keep your feet planted in the white sand of the area’s beaches, enjoy a hammock nap together, dip into the water for some snorkeling, or venture into the jungle to check out ruins (or one of the late night jungle parties, complete with DJ), that’s up to you.
Whether the two of you prefer quiet and calm or something more active and social, or maybe a little bit of each, Tulum is flexible (just like the abundant yoga practitioners who flock to the area).
12Loire Valley, France
Bike rides, picnics, fresh fruit and cheese, castles, rolling hills and plush fields…that’s what we’re working with here. This region in Central France offers abundance and splendor in, well, abundance.
This is also wine country, so you can spend every day pleasantly tipsy while you get fresh air and take in the incredible scenery around you. You can even row a boat together along the river, although I’d recommend doing this before hitting the vineyards heavy—best not to drink and row.
13The Hebrides, Scotland
The general vibe of these islands off the west coast of Scotland is misty and romantic. Everything is rocky and green and full of history.
Cozy together in wool sweaters by night and, by day, pay a visit to some of the many distilleries all around these isles. The scotch, and of course the presence of your gal/beau, will help keep you warm.
14Hamilton Island, Australia
Does the fact Taylor Swift went here last winter turn you on or off?
If the latter, don’t let the pop princess sour you on this idyllic destination in the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia. If the two of you live for aquatic experiences (or trying new things), Hamilton is located at the edge of the Great Barrier Reef.
So, there’s plenty of diving, snorkeling, sailing, and making out in the water to be done.
15St. Lucia (Caribbean)
Decadence and geologic wonders collide in St. Lucia, located in the Eastern Caribbean.
Surrounding the luxurious resorts where you and your new girl/guy can get treated like royalty—room service, spa treatments, complimentary bathrobes—are some pretty delightful natural marvels.
St. Lucia boasts waterfalls, rainforests, volcanic spires, reefs, hot springs, and of course, pristine beaches and crystal-clear water.
If you’re like me and enjoy a little decadence punctuating your adventure, St. Lucia is a go. Nothing is better than a massage after tackling a mountain. Or volcano, for that matter.
16Stockholm, Sweden
You know how sometimes being around really attractive, stylish people can make you feel better looking yourself? Something about how “you are the company you keep”? That’s what happens here.
Being surrounded by cool people and design seems to raise your own cool factor. Especially in those early stages of dating, looking cool is all-important. If you’re feeling in a rut, eating on the couch while binging on Netflix, get back your edge with a week wandering the streets of Stockholm.
This is a city for couples interested in fashion, food, and art. Who love architecture. Couples who enjoy looking to the past, absorbing and learning about history, but also have an eye to the future; to the latest thing.
17Joshua Tree, CA (USA)
Switching gears from the historic cobblestone walkways of Stockholm to some more rugged terrain, #12 on this list is Joshua Tree, about 2.5-3 hours outside of Los Angeles.
So named for the Dr. Seuss-esque Joshua trees that line its landscape, this desert town is home to some funky shops, but most importantly a National Park that feels like visiting another planet. It’s a really cool place to explore with someone you like (or love), all the unusual flora and fauna and the views for miles.
I have to admit I’m slightly biased here: Joshua Tree was a stop on my honeymoon. I’d recommend renting one of the artsy offerings on AirBnB, hiking all day, and then cooking at night, eating by the fire, with all the stars above.
*Need extra reason to make your way to Joshua Tree with your honey? Visiting a desert took the #5 spot on our 28 Places Every Man Should Visit in His Lifetime list. Check and check.
18Berlin, Germany
Like Stockholm, Berlin has an abundance of “It” factor. The city has become a mecca for art and design and is undeniably, and achingly, cool. I think Lonely Planet captures Berlin best, describing its combination of “glamor and grit.”
While Berlin is perhaps a little intimidating in its spot on the cutting edge of basically everything, it’s also exceedingly laid back and unfussy. Though highly stylized, nothing is too precious—things are a little rough around the edges.
There is no judgment here. It’s equal parts welcoming and unpredictable, which is totally sexy.
If late nights invigorate you and your love, and being a part of the art-world inspires you, this is the place to visit.
19Fez, Morocco
One word best captures this Moroccan city: vibrant.
Being in Fez will have all of your senses mesmerized: from the smells of the teas, foods, and spices in the markets, to the mosaic tiles, textiles, and brightly colored everything, and all the different textures of the metalwork and rich leather.
There is something so sensual about it all—distant prayers sung out into the sky, the setting sun, dim lights, rich aromas, warm nights, ancient fortress walls…
20Croatia
While the Croatian coastline is populated by its fair share of yachts, this small European jewel is a mostly affordable option for couples looking for the bright blue waters and rocky coastlines typical of the Mediterranean.
Not only is it a natural wonder—waterfalls, peaks, and canyons abound—but so rich in history. Traveling through Croatia is like a history lesson on a vast variety of past empires, an intermingling of various architecture, art, and traditions.
There is an abundance to see here, and to talk about.
21Vienna, Austria
Featured in the quintessential ‘90s romance Before Sunrise, starring Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke, it is hard not to equate this city with falling in love.
So make like these movies stars, and spend all day and all night exploring the city on foot, with some occasional stops to quiet cafes and maybe a boisterous bar or two. Get to really know each other as you pass along the cobblestone streets.
These beautiful surroundings, modern architecture juxtaposed against historic opera houses, make a perfect backdrop for intimate conversation.
22Istanbul, Turkey
While touring the markets and historic structures that line this city should make their way on to your Istanbul to-do list, make sure not to overlook the water.
Cruise on the Bosphorous at night (or walk along it by day), sip some Turkish coffee on the riverbank, and take in the incredible views of Hagia Sophia from the water.
There is something really special and mystical about this place, how it straddles two cultures and two continents. It is a very unique experience and definitely one to share with someone you love.
23Santa Fe, NM (USA)
Santa Fe is somewhere I’ve been visiting since I was little. So, it hasn’t always been a romantic destination for me, but it’s been a much-loved one for as long as I can remember.
The New Mexican landscape is so strange and beautiful. There are pine trees and cacti, red clay rock, snow, desert…it’s so diverse and unusual in that respect, which makes it an incredible place to be outdoors.
In addition to exploring the terrain together, it is the particular smells and particular lighting that make this a romantic city. After dark, particularly in the winter, luminarias (paper lanterns) cast a warm glow across town and the smell of piñon in the air is just completely enchanting.
24Portugal
Take in as much of this country as time permits. It’s affordable, scenic, and totally charming.
Fly into Lisbon first—the city is all quaint shops, cobblestone streets, vibrant neighborhoods, and gorgeous architecture. There are even vintage trams to help get you up the city’s sometimes-steep walkways. These afford incredible views and allow you take in many historic sites and other attractions.
Outside of Lisbon, check out Sintra, Évora, and Óbidos—all three are ancient and picturesque (and a little bit more off the beaten path when it comes to tourism). Everything is lush, green, and packed with interesting culture (and stories to tell).
Extra credit: Visit Madeira and/or the Azores (both islands) off the coast. Madeira is known for its great weather and sense of fun and the Azores, for its wildlife (whale watching!) and verdant grounds (pineapple plantations!). Both areas are remote and make for really enchanting, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
25Florence, Italy
Maybe it was reading A Room With a View many years ago, but Florence is somewhere I always associate with love, adventure, and beauty.
Known as the birthplace of the Renaissance and renowned for its art and architecture, one of the most breathtaking and romantic aspects of the city is how sunlight dances across its rooftops. There is something so special and so gorgeous about the light here. (You’re going to look great in all your pictures together.)
26Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Situated near Tahiti in the South Pacific, Bora Bora is basically paradise (some have joked “it’s so nice, they named it twice”).
The water is perfect and clear, the beaches a pristine white. You can stay in deceptively luxurious thatched roof bungalows perched over that aforementioned crystal water. You can swim with turtles and exotic, brightly colored fish.
This tropical island is secluded and idyllic—it’s no coincidence it’s one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the world. But don’t feel like you need to pop the question before booking accommodations—unwed pairs are equally welcome.
27Southern Spain
The vibe in this southern part of Spain is so relaxed and friendly and the weather is totally perfect—rent a car and cruise around for days.
I’d make sure to stop in Granada to see the spectacular Alhambra palace, in all its Moorish splendor. There is something really romantic about climbing up there to that fortress on high and walking around underneath the vaulted ceilings, patterned in stars, weaving in and out of the delicate columns, listening to the soothing sounds of the trickling of water from the fountains.
When in Andalucía, Seville should also be a top priority. Seville is warm and bright, both in terms of the sun’s rays shining down on you, and the vibrancy of its culture and people.
Drink lots of sangria, dine on tapas, and take in some flamenco. This spirited city will put you both in a great mood. And nothing is sexier than happiness.
28The Greek Isles
Ever since a good friend of mine selected the Cyclades for her honeymoon, visions of dining out on a whitewashed terrace on the Greek Isles with my own spouse have cycled through my head.
The setting of this island is postcard-perfect. The bright white, sun-soaked buildings contrast in such a wildly perfect way with the surrounding deep blue waters and rocky mountains.
Santorini is probably the most famous and sophisticated option. It’s also the most romantic. Don’t read too much into that descriptor of sophistication, however—Santorini is made for lazy days of soaking in the sun, slow strolls, and long meals. The vibe is 100 percent pleasure and relaxation.
29Bruges, Belgium
Switching gears completely from sun-drenched island life, we have Bruges, nestled in northwest Belgium.
With an old medieval city like this, you get all the canals, old churches, and small, winding streets out of your childhood storybooks. It’s like a fairy tale, Hans Christian Anderson-style, come to life (but fast-forwarded through the sad bits, straight to the happy ending).
It’s all so dreamy. This is a city that calls for a lot of hand-holding, kissing on old stone bridges, and long, conversation-filled dinners.
Tip: This is a really popular tourist spot in the summer. We’d recommend planning your visit for the spring (daffodil season) or the winter (when it is all chilly and cozy holiday charm) instead.
30Santa Barbara, CA (USA)
I’m going to be up front again about my bias with this one. Just like Joshua Tree (#17), Santa Barbara was a stop on my honeymoon trail (which was a road trip along America’s West Coast, with me, my husband, and our dog packed into a black Mustang).
But I’m not the only one who thinks Santa Barbara is one of the most romantic places on earth. JFK and Jackie handpicked this as their own honeymoon destination, a pair famous for their great taste (if not the best marriage).
Why Santa Barbara? In addition to the ocean, palm trees, mountains, and Spanish-style architecture, there is something really serene and special about this place. Hummingbirds flitter around and bright flowers bloom almost on cue.
It’s all really luxurious, but somehow in a really welcoming, low-key way. And can be done on whatever budget you need to adhere to—from celebrity-level spending to more modest accommodations, either will afford you a really lovely stay.
31Seychelles, East Africa
The Seychelles are just off East Africa, right in the Indian Ocean. For me, I would go just to see the rare giant tortoises, but maybe you might need more convincing? Or a sexier reason for your stay than some old reptiles?
So, let me start by describing how incredible the soft, powdery sand feels in between your toes and how the water is so clear and bright it almost looks like a swimming pool. The rocks and lushness of the flora and fauna are so incredible, they seem like something painted by a Surrealist.
Pretty much everything you eat has been grown on the island or caught in the water that surrounds it. It’s all fresh and delicious. Eating with your hands, with cool, fruit juices covering your fingers, all under the warm sun…it doesn’t get much more sensual than that.
32Cinque Terre, Italy
Ah, the Italian Riveria. Without me even writing anything else, your mind has probably already wandered to thoughts of glamorous people, delicious food, plentiful wine, bright colors, sunshine, and salty sea air.
This is romance, Italian-style, perched cliffside along the Mediterranean. Fill up on freshly caught seafood, local olives, cheese, and pesto, and toast your limoncello to love.
33Hunter Valley, NSW (Australia)
About two hours away from Sydney, is a gorgeous stretch of Australian wine country. Everything is lush and green, all rolling hills dappled in sunlight.
In addition to developing some of arguably the best red wines in the country, Hunter Valley has garnered a reputation for some high-quality eats. And you can be sure that all of those culinary delights will pair quite perfectly with all that delicious wine.
One of the best things about this area, though, besides its good food and vino, is how secluded it is. Everything feels really private and intimate, like you’re an escaping real life, which is an important thing for me if I’m looking for a romantic vacation.
Oh and did I mention you can take a champagne hot-air balloon ride? I mean, come on (insert mic drop here).
34Puerto Rico (Caribbean)
I love the bright colors and sunny disposition of this Caribbean island. And that it is equal parts tropical rain forest and sandy beaches as it is full of architecture and interesting history.
Walk around Old San Juan together, learning about the city (and island’s) past, visiting the old churches and stopping to enjoy a couple of beers with the locals, all to the beat of music from the streets and storefronts.
Take things up a notch by exploring caves and spotting rainforest wildlife. Try out surfing or investigating the coral reefs. Or just be beach bums together and catch up on reading (or sleep) on the sand. Choose your own adventure here, be it stirring or sleepy.
35The Cotswolds, England
I’m a lifelong Anglophile. My dream real estate purchase is a house on the English countryside and I am pretty much a sucker for everything the BBC exports our way. I could go on. But instead, let’s focus on you and your romance.
Take your love to the Cotswolds. This area sits northwest of London, and is an expanse of charming thatched roof cottages, rolling green hills, old stone manses and churches, small shops (shoppes?), and grazing animals.
It’s quiet, peaceful, and a perfect spot for time outside—hiking, horseback riding, rambling, and cycling—and evenings indoors in front of glowing fireplaces. Sip some tea and just take it easy.
36South African Winelands
Let’s talk a little bit more about wine. On this list, we’ve visited Australian wine country, and just about every other destination I’ve recommended drinking lots of it. I sure hope you like wine.
While there is nothing sexy about red wine mouth, this region in South Africa most definitely is. The cuisine and the area’s beverages are fantastic and the scenery is totally spectacular. Everywhere you look there are fields of green dotted by grand mountains. It’s just so vast and endless and amazing.
Rent a car and drive around from winery to winery, or you can choose to cycle. There are even some lovely old trams that take you through the vineyards. If you get wined out, so to speak, there is also mountain-biking, horseback riding, golf, fly-fishing, and chocolate-eating (South Africa is doing some great things with cocoa).
Get tipsy, get active. Though maybe not in that order.
37Cartagena, Colombia
Some of you might be throwing a surprised glance my way upon seeing this city of ill repute here. But isn’t a hint of danger titillating?
In all seriousness, the walled city is actually totally safe for travelers today. Long gone are the days of Escobar (though, please feel free to relive them on Netflix with Narcos).
This city is another on the list that straddles two cultures—the European influence is apparent (more of those cobbled streets I love), but the colors and sensuality of the Caribbean and South America are also there in full force. Even the humidity is sensual there.
This city is equal parts alive/boisterous/active and quiet. So enjoy some sleepy strolls and get your taste of Cartagena’s lively social life, too.
38Andaman Islands, India
Located in the Bay of Bengal, these islands—popular honeymoon picks in India—are covered in beaches and rainforests, and surrounded by reefs packed with marine life.
The Andamans are extremely remote: if privacy is what you two want, you got it. These islands are so secluded and so precious, only about a dozen of the total 300 are open to tourists. So, this is a really special destination.
While you’re there, traverse through the jungles, give diving a try, eat exotic things, look for rare wildlife, weave in and out of the mangroves…really make the most out of your time together in paradise.
39Chiang Mai, Thailand
Last, but not least (again, there’s neither order nor hierarchy on this list) is Chiang Mai, Thailand.
First off, let me mention we’re ending on a really affordable note. Bangkok can get crowded and pricey—Chiang Mai is a refreshing alternative.
The city is calm and unpolluted (speaking equally about the traffic and the air) and easily walkable. There is some incredible classic cuisine available from street vendors that sit alongside newer restaurants and art galleries. Old meets new here in a fantastically uncomplicated, easy way.
While you’re here, take some classes together, check out new and different foods in the markets, and then be sure to explore the countryside. Just a few beats away from city life, you’ll find pulsing green jungles, waterfalls cascading down mountains, hot springs, ancient villages, temples, shrines, monks, and elephant sanctuaries.
There is so much to see, do, and try, minus the overwhelming sounds and crowds of similarly active and exciting locales.

cocked & loaded [dwayne johnson/vin diesel]
okay, so if i were to write the academy award-winning and world peace-establishing screenplay where Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel slowly fall in love, this is what it would look like:
vin and dwayne would be bitter Rival Agents for an intelligence agency. both would be up for a Big Promotion. they would both be working together (but against each other) on something something black market mafia. the mafia would be involved. they would be VERY CLOSE to cracking this case.
whoever cracks the case gets the promotion! because things like this are always very clear-cut in movies. and whoever gets the promotion is the Better Agent, and it’s settled forever.
what they don’t expect is when they finally go in to make the Big Bust on The Family is that the Big Players will still be at large--and there will be a BABY.
the baby will fall into agency custody, and will require surveillance in a remote safehouse.
“i need YOU TWO to pretend and be this baby’s GAY DADS to protect the baby and keep The Family off our tail while we close in on them,” says Head Intelligence Captain Lupita Nyong’o.
dwayne and vin and baby are begrudgingly moved to a suburb of provincetown, massachusetts. cut to shot of a FOR SALE sign being pulled down, a ford fusion hybrid pulling up behind a moving van. dwayne and vin step out. they are both wearing muscle shirts and mirror-lensed aviators. dwayne grabs a baby bag, throws it over his shoulder. vin grabs the car seat out of the back, and both of them walk-slow motion up the side walk to their new 800k beach house.
here’s what they expect: passive aggressive co-existence for a couple of weeks, where they try to be the Better Dad in a bid for the promotion they both want. dwayne will go jogging with the baby every morning!! vin will wear her in a sling when he goes to the farmer’s market and smiles at the vendors while feeling up avocados and selecting fresh caught filets of fish!!
here’s what they don’t expect: their next door neighbors are going to be Channing Tatum and Idris Elba and their five beautiful, interracial babies. they are the perfect Gay Family, but “also,” dwayne says, pushing vin inside from where he’s been grilling steaks and drinking MILLER out of a CAN in broad daylight for the Real Gay Family to see and call over from their patio!!! “these guys are the REAL DEAL. they’re gonna know something’s up! i know we’ve had our beef, but we gotta step our game up and work together if we’re gonna make this operation work.”
“you’re right,” vin says. he’s nodding, looking at a ground, but then up and meeting dwayne’s gaze. “you’re RIGHT.” they’re gonna make this partnership work!!! they are going to be the BEST GAY DADS.
CUT TO: vin and dwayne staring at the king sized mattress in the master bedroom. “i can just--” vin says, but dwayne grabs him by the shoulder and shakes it playfully. “no man,” he says. “it’s all in or nothing.”
CUT TO: them jogging together with baby playfully squealing from her stroller early in the morning.
CUT TO: vin playfully feeding dwayne grapes at the farmer’s market. “it’s all or nothing,” he repeats, raising his eyebrows (???? eyebrow folds? idk man). dwayne rolls his eyes and TAKES THE BITE.
CUT TO: channing tatum in monogrammed shorts and pink polo and boat shoes on their front door step with one of his many perfect, precious toddlers on his shoulders, asking them to dinner. “uh yeah,” dwayne says, cool as a cucumber. he’s not freaking out (he’s totally freaking out!!). “we’ll bring the wine.”
“we’ll bring the wine?” vin repeats, in a hushed voice so the neighbors and baby don’t hear them fighting. “do you know anything about wine? they probably have a second house in france! i haven’t had anything that didn’t come from a box since--since ever! what were you thinking?” “i panicked! it seemed like the right thing to say!”
TIRES SCREECH as the ford focus hybrid drifts into the whole foods parking lot.
they show up out of breath, foreheads glistening, with baby in her favorite babybjorn, feet kicking from the day’s excitement of wine shopping. vin, wheezing, passes a bottle of red and a bottle of white.
“oh, a chateau coutet barsac,” idris says with a chuckle, showing the label to channing. “remember that time--?” and oh my GOD, they have inside jokes!!
(”we don’t have any inside jokes!!” dwayne whispers when they immediately excuse themselves halfway through a tour of the house. “that’s because you are the least funny person i know!” vin replies. “god, i hate you!!!” they both probably hiss at each other.)
the worst and best part of the night is when they’re serving the roast veg salad, and channing says with the best intentions, “so, how did you two meet?”
“uh,” vin says.
“the gym,” dwayne says. which, actually turns out to be true. they look at each other, smile soft and genuine for once at each other, REMEMBERING. before they were BITTER RIVALS, they met at the academy gym and were GYM BUDDIES. they used to have FUN trying to beat each other’s PR on the treadmill, they used to LOVE shit talking each other when they spotted each other bench pressing, they used to snap towels at each other’s asses in the locker room and totally not check each other out or anything!!! and then they were both accepted to the same position at work and they stopped being friendly for whatever reason. they stop smiling, they look away from each other. “anyway.”
“we met building houses for habitat for humanity,” idris offers, because of COURSE THEY DID.
the second worst part of the night is when channing mentions during the dessert course that two weeks from now is the annual May Day Homeowner’s Neighborhood Block Party Crab Cookoff, and maybe dwayne and vin would like to host to get to know everyone else in the neighborhood!
vin has had like, three more glasses of wine than everyone else, and with aid of liquid confidence, shrugs his shoulders and leans back in his chair and says, “yeah, man, we’d love to.”
“’yeah, man, we’d love to?’” dwayne repeats when they’re walking home, baby asleep in her bjorn.
“sorry, did you want me to give ourselves away? what happened to being the best? we’re trying to be believable!”
“yeah,” dwayne says, watching vin strip off his shirt and pants and toss them over his shoulder into their spare hamper before crawling into their bed. it’s routine. they both have their sides of the bed. “believable.”
the bedroom is quiet as they face away from each other at the edges of the mattress. eventually dwayne asks, “do you remember why we stopped being friends?”
for a second he thinks maybe vin’s gone to sleep. but he turns over. “no,” he says. “or yeah, maybe. as soon as i realized we would both be seeing action, it became too much of a risk. friendship. it was easier to lose you as a friend on my terms than lose you as a friend because you got your dumbass killed.”
they decide to be friends again. you know, for the baby. for work. whatever.
they get so caught up in planning the May Day Homeowner’s Neighborhood Block Party Crab Cookoff, making inside jokes and ignoring the increasing casual physical intimacy between them that they don’t realize they are BEING WATCHED.
the mafia is HERE and they want their BABY and they want dwayne and vin DEAD.
the M.D.H.N.B.P.C.C happens and everything is going according to plan, and they are about to have dwayne judge the bisque portion of the competition, but no one has seen dwayne anywhere!!!!
are there warehouses in provincetown??? is there a bad part of provincetown??? anyways, that’s probably where the mafia took dwayne. vin is FREAKING OUT, how does he save dwayne??? how does he protect the baby, who they are using dwayne as ransom for??? who will judge the bisque portion of the crab cookoff???
idris puts a hand on his shoulder. he’s been watching the entire time. “i’ll take the baby into our panic room--” OF COURSE THEY HAVE A PANIC ROOM, “and channing will judge the bisque portion of the crab cookofff. you go save your man.”
CUT TO: vin getting geared up to go out and kick some mafia ass, entering their walk-in closet and grabbing GUNS and a BULLET PROOF VEST and lacing up his L.L BEAN MEN’S GORETEX LEATHER BOOTS.
vin takes out the entire warehouse-or-whatever of mafia lackeys and comes across dwayne tied up and blindfolded.
“who’s there!” dwayne demands, like he’s ready to fight despite himself. vin takes three strong steps forward and grabs him by the back of the head and pulls him in for a kiss. “guess who,” he replies. dwayne smiles.
just then the Final Boss shows up as dwayne is being untied and like, something dramatic happens or whatever, but it’s okay. they die or go to jail or something, it doesn’t really matter, because dwayne and vin are in LOVE and they’re gonna adopt the hell out of that baby.
CUT TO: a month later. Head Intelligence Captain Lupita Nyong’o is disappointed when vin won’t accept his promotion.
“i would,” he says, heavily decorated for saving dwayne in the field and taking down the mafia family. “but the code of conduct says that it would be a conflict of interest if i was my husband’s supervisor.” BAM! THE END. THEY’RE MARRIED. WORLD PEACE UNLOCKED. DONALD TRUMP IMPEACHED. EVERYONE LIVES HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

Wednesday morning Lena was going in her car to L-Corp she was thinking again to ask Reign to be her girlfriend. Every day the things were more clear for her. She even missed her the most this weekend because Reign and Oliva went into a trip to New York. She couldn’t go because a work compromise. The press where more into Lena’s sentimental status lately and she was annoyed. Two months since the first picture of them in Metropolis, and also an unbelievably event.
A nights after they were back into National City there were news about an explosion in MetroMagazine destroying half of the building. That magazine shown pictures of Lena, Reign and Olivia the time they were in Metropolis. Lena in a beginning thought it was Lex, but her brother wouldn’t even bothered about it.
Lena took her phone going through the messages until she found the last Lex sent
>L.L: I promise I’ve been good. But maybe you should come when I say it. She’s very brave trying to protect you. Anyway I like the little girl, she have a bright future"
Lena was thinking even when she faced Lex when she went back to Metropolis to LuthorCorp right to Lex’s office. - “Don’t you ever tell me what to do” Lena shouted once Lex’s secretary closed the door of his office “And don’t even dare to do that again”
Lex had this mischievous smile in his face staring at her. He had his hands playing with a dark crystal ball.
“My dearest little sister” Lex sighed standing up from his seat “Is great to see you. You look beautiful” he stated leaving the ball in an urn “Lex I mean it” Lena warned “Lena… Lena…” Lex smiled that way again “if you had have the decency to come instead of leaving your friend and her angelical daughter, which is such a charm, I wouldn’t had to ask them to come without you” Lex took a envelope of his desk “My driver told me that Reign, is it? Of course it is. He told me that she didn’t do anything to decline my invitation with the only condition to leave you alone. Here”
Lena had a deep frown when she took the envelope he gave her. She opened it and there were pictures of her and Reign kissing. Lena gulped getting angry
“If I were you, I would be more cautious with whatever you are doing with this…” Lex did an derogatory gesture “… Reign” “Lex…” “You know, I really don’t mind what you are doing with her, or what she’s doing with you” Lex moved his hands “You know, Liv learned to play Heart and Soul with me in minutes” Lex was thoughtful “I’m not going-” Lena wanted to slap him hard in the face “Oh and father sent you greetings. He have asked about you. He is getting old and sentimental. Funny right?” Lex scoffed Lena gritted her teeth “Stay away from Reign and Olivia” “Or what? Reign can’t protect you or your Superfriend” Lex was having fun “A Luthor with a Super… who would say it… You can go” Lex turned around giving his back to Lena “I really don’t have time to all… this… Be safe” “If I were you Lex, I should keep an eye in your colleagues… they are doing dirty business I’m my city” Lena shot walking to the door “None are proven” Lex hummed smiling -
>Reign: Sorry about last night, I fell asleep and didn’t read your text until I woke up early. I miss you X
Lena bit her lower lip reading the message. It was going to be a really long day until she could see Reign again
Maggie was driving to Luka’s house with Alex. Maggie has a lollipop in her mouth while Alex was reading a file.
“Is going to be fun how he is gonna freak out with the order” Maggie had an smirk in her face “Maggie… This man is full of shit, how can he get away always?” Alex had her eyes on the files “Money Danvers… always money” Maggie pulled out the lollipop “And as far as I know this city works the same as Gotham” “Does Gayle Marsh given you more information?” Alex glanced Maggie “Nope” Maggie did a pop sound saying it “I think she’s jealous or something about Lena” Maggie smiled cheeky “Just as you when I told you about her” “I wasn’t jealous about her” Alex tried to sound convincing “Sure Danvers” Maggie smiled again proud “pick up my phone and text Reign”
Alex was calling Reign when they saw a firetruck in the entrance of Luka’s home more than half of the building was destroyed. Maggie could park her car next to the police ones. She and Alex had to show their identifications to go near the scene. Luka was talking really agitated to a policeman. Olivia was sat with a fireman wearing his helmet
“Miss you can’t entry-”
An officer tried to stop Maggie who was walking fast with Alex towards Luka. She in one hand gesture shown her identification making the man walk backwards
“Mr D'Berona… what?” Maggie was confused “You instead of putting your noses around what I do for living should be investigating who is trying to kill me” Luka faced Maggie angry “Mr D'Berona maybe you should calm down, what happened?” Alex tried to reason with him “My fucking home exploded, IT IS NOT OBVIOUS” Luka yelled “first someone destroys my car and now this” Luka put his hands on his face turning around “Luckily Olivia were with a friend” “Maybe you should stay at your mother-” Maggie tried to assimilate the situation but it was rare “-You know Detective Sawyer now you can go into my house and look whatever the fuck you wanted to find. Or whatever is still up” Luka left Maggie and Alex going to pick Olivia
Luka took of the helmet on Olivia’s head giving it to the Fireman in a bad manner and took her by the hand. Olivia had a sad expression plastered in her face when her eyes laid on Maggie, the little girl only had time to wave her free hand at her
Maggie brushed her hair with her hand confused. Alex was following Luka with her eyes getting into a new grey Mercedes with her daughter. All this had not sense. All Maggie was getting blew up. She talked to the police in charge about what happened
12:00
Lena was thinking into the weekend at the end of the meeting with people of Palmer-Technologies. They had a huge project that with her development and team would do a lot for people with low increases improving the Health sectors.
She was hopeful about this when she got a phone call. Her assistant told it was a little girl at the phone. Lena frown knowing that it could only be Liv
“Liv?” “Lena?” Olivia was in her grandmother manor “Hey… what are you… Are you okay?” Lena began to worry “Uhm… papa is yelling and nonna is arguing with someone” Olivia closed her door picking up her dinosaur backpack “What’s happening, do you need me to go there? Where is Reign?” Lena caught her red coat walking out her office “Mommy is at work, she never answers when she’s at work” “Where are you Liv? Is this the phone of your Father” Lena was already in the elevator “We are at Nonna’s home. He told -go to your room and don’t go out-” “Liv, listen to me ok? Stay in your bedroom and I’d be there in less than an hour I promise” Lena heard Olivia do the same sound she always do when she’s thinking “Okay…” Olivia climbed her bed and hugged her stuffed T-Rex “That’s my girl… I’d be there soon”
Lena called her assistant in her way out of the building going to her car. Her driver was reading a newspaper. When he saw her he almost fall stepping back to go to open the passenger’s door. Lena told him to go to the manor while she was explaining to her assistant to re-schedule all her dates two hours later. She had decided to take Olivia with her.
Olivia was reading the book with a lot of draws that Diana had sent her between other 4. The rest of them were at Reign’s house but she liked this the most because of the drawing. She liked the others more when Lena or her mother read them to her. She could still hearing her nonna arguing. Olivia looked over the window waiting impatiently when she saw Lena’s car in coming. She went right to her bed put all the things she has pulled out her backpack and ran quietly to the door opening it going outside.
Once she arrived Lena told her driver to keep the engine on that it would be a few minutes there and then they had to go back to her office. Olivia was wearing her black jeans with a light blue tee. When Lena stepped out of the car Luka appeared in the door with an anger expression looking side to side meeting his eyes with Lena’s then to Olivia who ran to Lena’s arms
“You are doing all this right?” Luka went towards Lena “Do what?” Lena frowned narrowing her eyes at the man “Don’t play silly and make me look like a fool Luthor” “Luka, I don’t know what you are talking about” Lena was not understanding anything “You are trying to steal my daughter, you and that bitch” Luka spilled those words
That word for Lena was the last straw and more seeing Olivia cover her ears.
“I don’t know what are you talking about, and you should watch your mouth before talk like that in front of Liv. I just came here because Liv called me and seeing you she’s coming with me” Lena knew she had no right to be there but the situation was weird “Lets go Liv” Lena opened the door “You might be a Luthor but you don’t know who you are messing with” Luka saw her daughter going into the car making him even angrier “Get ready to play Luthor… you started it” “Small words for a small man” Lena shook her head not getting anything at all about what was happening
She got into the car, closed the door telling the driver they were ready to go. Olivia was quiet looking at her the window
“Liv… we are calling mommy later alright?” Lena tried to smile “What happened?” “I was with aunt Gayle taking a breakfast when dad called her then we go home and there were firefighters and police cars and the house was down” “You were with your Gayle?” Lena didn’t liked the close relationship she had with Reign “Yeah when I am with dad and there’s no school aunt Gayle and I go sometimes to somewhere or her house. Dad don’t mind. He says mom always trusted aunt Gayle”
This was the first time Lena hear Olivia talk about her biological mother, she always thought Olivia didn’t know much about her
“Tell me about it” Lena felt curiosity “Aunt Gayle sometimes says I look like mom when I am thinking or when I get mad” Olivia laughed “Aunt Gayle has more pictures about mom than dad” “But your Aunt Gayle is Reign’s attorney, right?” “Yes but…” Olivia fidgeted her fingers trying to find the words “Aunt Gayle says what is good for me is good for her” Olivia sighed relieved “I don’t know what it means” Olivia giggled funny
In their way to L-Corp they were talking about Olivia’s weekend in New York that HellKitchen didn’t looked like -hell- thing that made her laugh every time she could tell. Almost everyone in the building were surprised to see a little kid walking holding the hand of Lena Luthor. In the three meetings Lena had since they were there Olivia were in all of them listening all prompts, future adaptations to some departments and some travels. The kid was beyond happy not because she could understand anything they said but because Lena’s work was awesome, how everyone listened to her, showing all the respect she deserved.
Around lunch time Lena was teaching Olivia play chess. At the beginning it was a little messy but half hour ago Oliva got the concept.
“My father, Lionel, taught Lex and I play this when we were a little bit younger than you” Lena was moving the horse “Lex is the bald man?” Olivia moved a pawn hearing Lena’s laugh “Yes, the bald man” Lena was smiling “Do you remember him?” She moved a pawn blocking Olivia’s “He was nice” Olivia looked at the chessboard thinking “He taught me play a song”
His brother never used to be kind to anybody if he wasn’t going to get in return. He was with Reign and Liv and that was not common.
17:00
“Olivia” Reign breathed at seeing her daughter “Lena, thank you so much” “Mommy Lena is teaching me play chess, is fun” Olivia pointed with her finger to the board
Lena stayed silent while Reign hugged her daughter checking she was ok. After Reign asked her why she was there with Lena, Olivia went to the bathroom.
“You are just so perfect” Reign leaned down kissing Lena making her feeling shivers running her spine. Reign had that effect on her “I didn’t know what to do expect go for her. I thought it was the right thing to do” Lena shrugged raising a brow “Thank you so much” Reign leaned down again to kiss Lena but Oliva came back making her change her idea sitting next to her “Can we go eat for dinnerburgers?” Olivia asked looking her mother “Liv I think we should call your father and tell him you are okay” Reign picked one of the discharged pawns “But dad knows” Olivia sighed annoyed “What do you mean?” Lena wondered then looking at Reign who was confused
Olivia pulled out from her dinosaur backpack a mobile phone giving it to Reign. There was a text message about a couple minutes ago from Luka’s mother Arianna
>Mother: Alright, tell Reign bring you back tomorrow night. Your father is not okay right now. If you need something. Call. Nonna X
Reign and Lena looked at Olivia at the same time almost sync. Olivia shrugged with an a smirk
“Liv why you didn’t tell me you had his phone?” Lena asked feeling a little bit disappointed “You did not asked” Olivia know she had done bad “Olivia, if you call Lena and make her go look after you and expend all the morning with her you can’t hide this kind of things” Reign reprehended Olivia’s behavior
Olivia looked to the floor, Lena had never seeing before Reign call out Olivia for something. This was the first time and it was because of her
“It’s okay Reign…” “No, it is not Lena” Reign looked quickly to her then kept her gaze to Olivia “Liv you understand it, right?” “Yes mommy…” Olivia had her eyes still in the floor “I’m sorry Lena… but Mommy we were having fun and…” “Reign its fine we were at meetings and working, she has helped me a lot” Lena put her hand in Reign’s thigh “We should be heading home” Reign got up “Liv take your backpack we will talk” “Can Lena come tonight at home if we are not eating burgers?” Olivia sound hopeful “Of course I’ll go tonight” Lena assured “Olivia wait outside” Reign didn’t even looked at her daughter saying it
Reign covered her face with her hands sighing heavily. Lena put her hands in Reign’s waist pulling her towards her. It was evidently Reign was tired
“Are you okay” Lena’s voice shown worried about her “I don’t know what’s going on, who want to mess with this, and Olivia hiding things, is the third time she do something like this” Reign sighed again “Listen, what about if I go tonight to your house, with a bottle of wine, and you tell me everything is worrying you” Lena nodded with the last words staring Reign’s lips “I can put her to sleep early tho” Reign cupped Lena’s face with one hand stroking her lower lip with her thumb “I had another idea about us tonight but we can wait”
Lena touched the tip of Reign’s thumb with her tongue seeing this biting her lip. The truth is that they were sleeping or mostly having sex the whole week expect for the last day when Reign had a fight with Luka about his idea of take Olivia for a month to Italy. Lena and Reign were talking and when Reign fell asleep in her bed
Reign looked at Lena playful and kissed her softly but pulled back when she felt Lena’s hands pulling her closer. Lena looked at the ceiling then to Reign raising a brow
“Be patient” Reign winked at the dark haired woman seeing the glance she was giving to her. Reign pecked her in the lips “bye”
22:00
Lena was at the door ringing the bell but after two tries she was about to call Reign but Olivia opened the door.
“Lena!” Olivia jumped happy hugging her “You are awake” Lena was surprised “nice pjs” Lena smiled bright seeing her NASA pjs
Olivia giggled happy stepping aside to allow Lena entry. The tv was on, she was watching a movie about some anime or how Lena called them the Japanese animation. Olivia had in the couch a bottle of lemon tea and cookies
“Liv where’s mommy? Lena asked taking off her coat leaving it on a chair “Sleep… do you wanna watch the movie?” Olivia asked with the remote in her hands “You shouldn’t be sleeping?” Lena raised a brow looking at the little girl “Nope?” Olivia made a funny face making Lena laugh “I promise I’ll go to sleep after the movie, please, pretty please” “I’m checking Reign then you go to sleep” Lena said shaking her head smiling
Lena went upstairs pushing a little bit the door of Reign’s bedroom. She was laying on her stomach with her arms side to side top her head shirtless. Lena crawled over the bed to sit on top of Reign’s ass. She caressed her back gently, feeling Reign sigh. Lena gave her a couple of kisses on the shoulder and gave her the last of his ear.
“Lena” Reign mumble with her eyes closed “Olivia is downstairs awake you want me to put her to sleep?” Lena whispered giving her another kiss in the jaw “No” Reign still had her eyes closed when she torn around having Lena straddling her lap. She opened an eye “I don’t know if I like you on top more than in bottom”
Lena was to lean down to kiss Reign when she sat wrapping one arm around Lena’s waist and in a switch motion they changed positions hearing Lena gasp in surprise. The taller woman pushed her crotch down into Lena’s center
“Reign” Lena dug her nails in Reign’s lower back sighing “I’d be back” Reign kissed Lena’s neck
Reign stood up taking a red tee from the floor wearing it. Lena was propping herself up on the bed leaning on her elbows watching Reign walk out the door but quickly returning to get a guitar from the closet. For Lena it was the first time to see her with a guitar.
One of the things Lena found interesting about Reign was her strength in many ways, certain things surprised her gladly but most of it were random.
“Mooooommy please” “Liv is really late, tomorrow morning you can watch the movie” “Pretty pretty please I promise I’ll go later” “Nope young lady, you need to sleep and rest”
Lena laughed lightly hearing Reign’s footsteps, it probably was Olivia over her shoulder meanwhile the girl was doing all the possible to trying to stop her mother. Doing what she called, peaceful resistance. 10 minutes later she was listing Reign playing her guitar she was singing -A thousand Years-
Reign got back to her room seeing Lena reading a magazine only with her underwear wandering in the room.
“Wow” Reign exclaimed stopping in her tracks
Lena torn around raising her sight from the magazine closing it. She was getting more confident around Reign in these situations. It was usual that Reign surprised her with something like this. Also Lena got that Reign had a soft spot for her being dominant. To be honest Lena liked to be the bottom because Reign being dominant was hot but sometimes she liked to be the on top.
“Come here” Lena ordered “And sit there” Lena pointed the edge of the bed
Reign did as she was told staring at Lena wanting to touch her, she licked her lips waiting. Lena got closer and took off Reign’s tee showing her breasts. Lena leaned down to kiss her but instead she pushed her against the bed
“Lena you are teasing” “I know” Lena straddle her lap “We are making this slow”
Luka’s car and other four were outside near to the house… he was angry he was breathing fast tightening the steering wheel with his hands. He tilted his neck until he heard a crack coming out from it and touched the headphone saying -a half hour when she turn off the lights of her room, that bitch don’t know what’s coming-
#reigncorp#and things from here are gonna get dark... just a little#thanks for reading#If your like I can do a second part or just go on with prompts and then continue with the story#our reign#fic time

These 13 Statement Watches Are All Under $500 (Really)
Best Watches Under $500
For lots of guys, watches are like wine: the perceived learning curve intimidates many who assume you can’t get anything good for a reasonable price. That’s not the case, however, timepiece-wise; in fact when just starting out in the horological universe it’s a good idea to begin with something relatively modest and acquaint yourself with the way it wears, works, looks and feels, as a prelude to acquiring a piece you’ll wear for the rest of your life.
RELATED: 10 Best Rolex Watches You Can Buy Right Now
Which is not to say your starter watch shouldn't be a keeper, but as your taste (and budget) matures, it will most likely become your secondary timepiece, worn on more casual occasions, but nonetheless a steady companion. And it may be years before you see the need to upgrade if you choose wisely. Perhaps you’ll pass it along to your son. The threshold for getting into a decent quality watch, one we’d consider to be professional grade, hovers around the $500 mark, which is where we’ve set the bar for this rundown.
Our Picks: 13 Best Watches Under $500
Movado Museum Classic Watch Bulova Stainless Steel Chronograph Watch Tissot Tradition Watch Victorinox AirBoss Mach 6 Watch Alpina Horological Smartwatch Citizen Blue Angels World Eco-Drive Watch Tissot V8 Quartz Chronograph Watch Momentum Titanium Vortec GMT Watch Glycine Kriegs Marine Manual Wind Watch Hamilton Khaki Field Watch Seiko Padi Automatic Diver's Watch Vincero Kairos Automatic Rose Gold Watch G-SHOCK G-STEEL Watch
At this price you can and should go for real watch brands as opposed to fashion brands who are merely branding cheap timepieces usually made in China. Watchmakers like Bulova, Tissot, Alpina and Hamilton, all founded in the 1800s, have passed the hundred-year mark and withstood the test of time, so to speak, and are well worth investing in. Look for deals on discontinued models on Amazon, where sale prices can be 40% off or more, and you can end up scoring a real deal.
The man who overspends before he knows the worth of what he’s buying does nobody any favors, least of all himself. And not wearing a watch because you’re waiting to afford something expensive is a foolish economy, leaving you bereft and bare-wristed. Buy wisely and you won’t be wasting money on a starter model; take good care of it and there will even be some residual resale value to put towards your next purchase.
Another reason not to pay more than $500 for a watch is the amount of punishment you plan to dole out. If you work with your hands or just don’t want to worry too much about damaging an expensive timepiece, it’s better to buy something that won’t break the bank if it ends up needing to be replaced sooner rather than later. That said it’s better just to take the watch off if there’s any danger of it getting damaged.
Don’t think of it as a “cheap” watch or something you’re compromising on however; do the research (actually we did it for you), spend as much as you possibly can and take satisfaction in something that’s worth more than you paid for it. There’s no shame in shopping around or wearing a less expensive watch than the loudmouthed guy in the next cubicle who probably still owes money on his.

Price should in any case be a secondary consideration when buying a watch. Look for a design that pleases you, in a size you’re comfortable with, that has the functions you want, and then consider what’s it’s worth. Perhaps you prefer a metal bracelet to a leather strap, but be aware that for a minimal extra investment you can get both. Nylon straps available in a host of colors are another way to change up the look of your watch.

7. Tissot V8 Quartz Chronograph
Our second Tissot on the list, the handsome V8 45mm chronograph is water resistant to 100 m (330 ft) and won’t break the bank. Most people will assume you paid a lot more. Chronographs are a good buy in general as they offer more bang for the buck, hold their value better, and look more expensive to boot. $236.88 at Amazon.com
8. Momentum Titanium Vortec GMT
This sizable 44mm watch on a rubberized strap has a GMT function allowing it to can keep track of two different time zones, and luminescent markers mean you can easily read the time in the dark. Water resistant to 330 feet, it also has a titanium case, which is both lighter and stronger than stainless steel. Momentum might not be a big brand name but it has resonance for connoisseurs, and titanium watches usually cost a lot more; getting one for this price is unheard of. $285 at Amazon.com
9. Glycine Kriegs Marine Manual Wind
Glycine, founded in 1914, is another second-tier Swiss watch brand that delivers excellent value for money. This model has vintage military looks and is oversized at 48mm, so make sure your wrist can handle it. It also has a coveted manual wind movement for the watch snobs among us. We firmly believe that if you’re at all mechanically-minded, once you’ve experienced a manual wind movement you’ll never want a quartz again. $429 at Amazon.com
10. Hamilton Khaki Field Watch
Hamilton, founded in Pennsylvania in 1892, belies the common belief that only Swiss watches are worth investing in. The field watch is a classic design that may not be dressy enough for the opera but can handle most situations with aplomb. It’s an American style statement that goes perfectly with your L.L. Bean and Filson gear, and has been widely imitated though usually without concomitant quality. The 38mm size is fairly uniformly flattering and the automatic movement is usually reserved for pricier pieces. $389.60 at Amazon.com
11. Seiko Padi Automatic Diver's Watch
Many precious Swiss diving watches never see any underwater action. Seiko’s classic “Pepsi” (i.e. red and blue) diver is designed to be used, and is rated to 650 feet. The 44mm piece has the iconic rotating bezel that allows you to keep track of how long you’ve been underwater. This is the only other watch on the list with an automatic movement, and would normally cost considerably more. The Pepsi coloring makes a bold and sporty statement but the watch has the chops to back it up. $308.05 at Amazon.com
12. Vincero Kairos Automatic Rose Gold
The limited edition Vincero Kairos rose gold automatic watch is clean, stylish and masculine and each is numbered ensuring that yours is on of a kind. 13. G-SHOCK G-STEEL
