hiiii. as both an artist and a fan of atla and hades (the game), i really wanted to ask about the hades style character pieces you did - i loved it in the game too, and you did an amazing job recreating it yourself. do you have any tips or experiences that might help with drawing in that style? details, colours, elements, etc - anything really. tysm in advance, and i hope you're having a great day!!

keep thinking about a conversation I had the other week with a friend, I was recommending hadestown since its my favourite musical to which my friend relied "oh I didn't know you'd seen it in person" I laughed and explained ive actually never seen any musicals live since I don't have the money (live theatre is expensive) this however made them go on a long rant about how you really have to see theatre live to really enjoy it and yada yada yada anyway it's nice to be reminded sometimes that I'm not the worst conversationalist out there

yeah i do think it really sucks actually that we finally get dwarf lore this game but it’s handled so poorly and completely at the expense of the elves. i also dont like that it flattens the dwarves & ignores what lore we have seen previously.

@ikarons pointed out to me that kal-sharok specifically is the thaig that destroyed the original cadash thaig for sheltering elves fleeing the tevinter emperium after the fall of artlathan (which is a huge glaring piece of information to exclude here). kal-sharok has both been previously abandoned to die by their own people and also committed horrific acts of violence and they are completely separate from orzammar (and resent them!) but this game presents the dwarves as this homogeneous entity that doesn’t hold any fault or complexity... we know there is a huge variation in dwarf culture and politics that just doesn't get acknowledged at all; they do them a huge disservice by focusing entirely on Harding and how special she is and how evil the evanuris are.

this was a real missed opportunity in my opinion to give more depth to both the evanuris and the dwarves, but we lose all of that in this game because people can only be good or bad and we can’t have any nuance, it was all the evanuris's fault and they did it just because they're so evil. and we'll blame the elves, too, while we're at it. sad!

Ted Lasso would never do this to me" <- everyone assumes that's a general celebrity crush/just a joke about a famously really nice guy and like, coach beard actually likes/retweets it so it goes mildly viral and trent is like. This Is Fine. most people assume that this account is run by like, a female tumblr user in her late twenties. no. this is a middle-aged single father and no one realizes this until he tweets something like "My ex-wife just set me up with a man who looks exactly like my straight crush, but worse. You know, because she's evil, and also the funniest person alive. anyway guess who i ran into on the date" or "i am a single middle-aged father and i only JUST NOW found out i have autism. My parents knew when I was three." which is then updated by "WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY EX WIFE KNEW TOO" (she thought it was kind of a given) only to confuse them again when he mentions that time he was pregnant
