But don’t worry - you are about to have the time of your life. Here’s why:
1. Events and cultural activities
Cultural events are the heart and soul of campus life. Popularly known as ‘fests’ in B-schools, they allow you to showcase your hidden talents. It can be in the form of singing, dancing, or acting in a play. These events will serve as a stressbuster from your hectic schedule to have fun and meet new people. Moreover, B-schools also conduct sports day, where you will burn all your energy in playing various games while enjoying with your peers. By participating in these cultural and sports events, you will create memories for a lifetime!
B-schools also keep interactive sessions with corporates or alumnus, where you can learn from their professional experience. You can ask them all the important questions pertaining to your specialization. It will give you an informed overview of the career path you will choose.
2. Personality development programmes
Honing your managerial skills is one of the primary reasons why you opted for a PGDM. A good B-school understands this, and therefore, conducts personality development programmes. It aims to improve the personality traits that will make you an efficient manager. For example, leadership is a significant aspect of these programmes. Good leaders gain recognition due to their planning, communication, decision-making, delegation, and problem-solving skills. Hence, your B-school will conduct seminars by inviting industry leaders, who will speak at length about these abilities.
The programmes also emphasize outdoor management training. It focuses on instilling good management practices such as self-management, people management and organizational development.
3. Recreational facilities
In our school days, we repeatedly heard the proverb ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. It meant that without taking time off from studying, we would become dull and boring. Similarly, in a B-school, being too engrossed in your hectic schedule might affect your physical and mental fitness. You will feel low on energy, which in turn will affect your performance. Hence, B-schools actively encourage students to take part in recreational activities. It includes exercising in a gym or playing indoor games such as table-tennis, chess or carrom in the campus’ club. These activities will refresh your mind and motivate you to undertake more challenges in the future.
B-schools also encourage one-on-one counselling, where you can discuss your queries with a counsellor and find solutions for the same.
Being a part of the best MBA college in Odisha or another city makes campus life a rewarding experience.
