GUESS WHO'S BIZZACK!? As mentioned in the last post It's been a rough couple of months. Now that I have my new laptop I'm slowly catching up to old work. These are all prints from June and July that I finally had an opportunity to have developed and scanned.

They're what you might have come to expect of my work. All shot between the city and The Bronx. A handful of my favorites from the summer were on this roll.

The eyes of the bodega cat came out so bright and clear, the young lady smoking her joint before decending into the train station, both Bimmers and a pair of Air Max 93's. And of course, what's a roll of film from me without a handful of addicts falling asleep in the street? Lmao.

I was so happy to see how "Birds in the Sky" turned out! I was in my room one morning and I heard the helicopter hovering over the back yard. I didn't even open the back door, I immediately reached for the camera and made my way to the balcony. Soon as I get out there a pigeon photo bombs! I loved it! Lol

If memory serves me correct, I shot this roll on my Canon A1 and I know for sure that I shot these on Fuji 400.

I've been playing with a free online artificial intelligence photo generator. It's fun to see what it comes up with. Above is a Miniature Australian Shepherd with a blue merle coat that I asked for.

This is what my blue merle Aussie looks like. There's no actual blue, but the AI is still learning that I guess.

I like station wagons. Few are on the market anymore. What does a BMW 750i look like as a wagon? Not bad. This probably wasn't too difficult for AI, seeing as how in Europe there are wagon versions of the 3- and 5-series BMWs available. I also wanted a wagon version of a Ferrari 308 GTS (Magnum PI's car). AI just didn't get it and served up images of a normal 308 but with weird headlights.

A school bus that has been converted into an army tank. I'd get a job driving a school bus if this was it.

Two version of a Porsche camper. One isn't bad. The other is has a weird vintage look to it.

How about a Cessna 172 camper. You get a biplane version of the multitudinous small aircraft, with a tall cockpit and a one-bladed prop.

When the original BMW M5 debuted, it was the answer to a question no one had asked, and what an answer it was — there had never been a proper sports sedan before. The M5 established the practice of incorporating racing technology into a road-going vehicle. The concept first emerged when the then-CEO's security detail, driving a 5 Series, could not keep up with his 7 Series, so they turned to the motorsport division for assistance. The solution was to install the engine from the 3.0 CSL, modify the suspension, and strengthen the brakes. The M5 as we know it today was born.

Aside from touring, the most significant change to the M5 is the adoption of a PHEV powertrain. The electric side provides more elasticity and urgency to the drive. The M5's throttle response has always been quick; however, the addition of an electric motor adds instant torque to the low end, so the throttle response is even faster right now!

It begins with a twin-turbocharged, 577-horsepower 4.4-liter V8 engine that pairs with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. The combination produces a net output of 717 horsepower. The engine produces 553 lb-ft of torque between 1,800 and 5,400 rpm. The electric side adds 206 lb-ft, but there is a twist: there is a gear set between the electric motor and the transmission input shaft, so the effective torque is 332 lb-ft. When the throttle is nudged, the engine responds immediately.

The engine and electric motor combine to produce more torque than the transmission can handle, limiting the power curve to 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm). This results in a straight line power curve from off idle to near red-line. The refined sledgehammer can reach 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, with an 80 to 120 km/h time of 2.2 seconds. Boost Control mode allows for peak performance by putting the drivetrain and suspension into hyper mode, allowing for speeds between 32 and 144 km/h.

The M5's design focuses on maximizing weight and returns for added weight. A PHEV system, which is not much heavier than a regular hybrid system, brings more energy, with a battery capable of 14.8 kWh of power. This allows the M5 to deliver 40 km of electric-only driving using the EPA test cycle. The PHEV setup sustains the M5's performance over multiple hot laps before exhausting the battery. The electric motor delivers instant torque and doubles as a generator to capture wasted energy and return it to the battery. A regular hybrid setup might only manage one lap at full chat before forcing the system to go gas-only.

The M Adaptive suspension controls body motion with precision, keeping the car flat and the P285/40ZR20 front and P295/35ZR21 rear tires planted. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system delivers power with authority, and the stability control system can be switched to two-wheel-drive for an "unfiltered performance experience." The M Sport rear differential delivers torque vectoring, allowing the M5 to turn in with less steering input.

The PHEV's battery is placed between axles and low in the body to prevent understeer and maintain the center of gravity. The M5 has a longer wheelbase and wider track to maintain balance and maintain the driving ethic. Rear wheel steering is used to mask curb weight, making the 2,445-kg car feel lighter. The M5's larger size enhances low-speed maneuverability and sharpens steering response at speed, bringing faster response to input and better high-speed stability.

The choice of tire is crucial for a car's performance, and BMW collaborated with tire suppliers like Michelin, Pirelli, and Hankook to find the best rubber for the M5. The M5 is a ballet dancer with grip, despite its 2,500-kilogram curb weight, making it feel nimble and more dialed-in than expected. Both super-sports have chromium-plated credentials and are perfect for twisty roads. Based on the author's experience, they recommend the upcoming M5 Touring as a street-legal race car with a focus on cars. The choice has never been tougher, making the choice between the two super-sports a tough one.

Personalmente ho sempre creduto nell'usato: esso – purché si osservino le 6 regole che ho elaborato - può riservare gradevoli sorprese. E dico ciò a ragion veduta: nel 2011, quando lavoravo presso la SCA (Mercedes), ho venduto a mia sorella una BMW 116d del 2010 con 25.000 km. Quest’auto è tuttora in possesso di mia sorella ed ha raggiunto la ragguardevole soglia dei 300.000 km in ottime condizioni generali – come io stesso ho avuto modo di verificare in un percorso di 1.200 km. Gradevoli sorprese, per l’appunto. Appassionato d’auto sin da quando ero bambino, come venditore ho trattato sia M1 nuove ed usate di svariati Marchi, sia N1 Opel e Fiat Professional. (1) Optare per un prodotto di qualità: ovvero, scegliere un modello appartenente a Marchi dall’elevato indice di affidabilità, in grado di macinare centinaia di migliaia di chilometri senza creare grossi problemi; beninteso, l’auto perfetta, l’auto che non si rompe mai, non esiste – però esistono Marchi che producono vetture dall’elevata qualità costruttiva. Per prodotto di qualità intendo per l’appunto una vettura appartenente a quella tipologia di Marchi. (2) Acquistare con cognizione di causa e non alla cieca: ovvero, optare per Concessionari in grado di effettuare la certificazione del chilometraggio, mostrare lo storico tagliandi e dare la garanzia. (3) Manutentare regolarmente l’usato acquistato: ovvero, effettuare i tagliandi previsti dal Costruttore alle scadenze previste. (4) Utilizzare con la dovuta cura: anche le migliori auto, se bistrattate da guidatori maldestri, nel lungo periodo creano problemi. (5) Effettuare, prima dell’acquisto, una mappatura delle proprie, reali, esigenze di mobilità: vivo in una metropoli come Milano e Roma, in una città di media grandezza, o in provincia? Quanti chilometri percorro in un anno? E quanti di questi in città, su percorsi extraurbani ed in autostrada? Ho una sola auto a disposizione o due? Bisogna rispondere a siffatte domande per poter poi procedere con la scelta della giusta motorizzazione: benzina, diesel, mild-hybrid, full-hybrid, plug-in o elettrica? Se io appartengo alla categoria del “compra, tieni il più a lungo possibile e poi rottama” – allora posso benissimo prendermi il lusso di valutare le due ottime alternative e magari alla fine decidere per una più spaziosa, confortevole e lussuosa Skoda. While driving to the library* this afternoon I saw a Chevy Celebrity station wagon, moving under its own power. These were made from 1982 - 1990. I’m shocked that one is still on the road in my state.

They were not the best cars. Around here you can still see sometimes, at least in the summertime, autos built in the 50s, 60s, and early 70s. Who hasn’t turned his head at the sight of a ‘57 Chevy, a ‘66 Impala, or a 1970 Camaro? But an ‘84 Celebrity? Clearly that name is a misnomer. No one ever rear-ended another car while drooling over a 1985 Chevy instead of watching traffic. ‘80s GM vehicles are the nadir of desirable cars. Some are more rare than ‘57 Chevys.

A design feature I do like of cars like this Celebrity era are the narrow B-, C-, and (on wagons) D-pillars. Hondas of the era had wonderfully thin roof pillars. Today’s cars have much larger blind spots around thick roof pillars.

Station wagons are some of my favorite cars. I’d love to have an Audi or Mercedes wagon. BMW stopped selling 3- and 5-series wagons in the US some time ago. Boo!
