The weather is JUST on the turn towards warm here and that’s helping a lot with inspiration + having my mp3 rotating songs + submitting my final shit for uni gives me time to work on shaded pieces again so naturally I go for summery otp :)

We'll see how I feel about him. Also, he's a kid and that's a baby snail. He's not a gigantic Smurf jksdfjksd

Explanation:

Quixotic's moms were part of SmurfStorm's original scout party. After 6 of them (including her parents) were taken and presumably turned into gold by a wizard (not Gargamel, idk who) SmurfStorm takes a temporary leave of absence from leading the scout party due to trauma/survivors guilt. During her time recovering from the incident she spends more time in the village as being around the grove isn't helping. During her stay in the village she's comforted by her friend Clumsy, who isn't doing much recently since like 60% of his friends have babies and he's her friend so you know. 

The rest, they say, is history

Hi guys still on holiday but the cottage wifi is good and I haven’t been checking tumblr as much fjdhshdksk HAVE been doin’ a fair few doodles tho! Here’s the little ones :)

And yeah Smurfs don’t - they don’t need TS but I love it when my friends draw it cause character validation and ehh style experiment? Would be easier digital tbh but no computer till this weekend haha.

I do have a slightly strange confession to make though - as a cis woman who has never experienced any real kind of gender dysphoria I have weirdly experienced a sort of third party “hm” moment through a couple of ocs, and I have no real way to explain that phenomenon. I tend to avoid messing with canon characters since it doesn’t feel like my place but having originally created Precocious as (presumably) cis it bothered me for so so so long. The day I finally said “no fuck that this feels weird” and changed him to ftm it was like a massive weight off my back and I’ve felt much better drawing him since.

Again, I have 100% never experienced that in my own personal life and in fact having questioned it have felt uncomfortable with anything but she/her so it is absolutely not a projection, so I don’t really understand it myself, but it kind of fascinates me lmfao. Sort of the same thing with Nova tbh, the absolute androgyny feels “correct” to me. Maybe I’m just *that* devoted to my own ocs. Or I’m an empath /j /j /j /j very much /jk

Twas thinking bout those animal onesies I designed a while ago and wanted to do some kiddo versions! Crash gets a bumbleebee cause they always bash into things and each other haha. Mari gets an orca cause that’s her fave animal and she’d want to match her teddy - Bolt gets a Cheetah cause. Well. Speed!

One day I'm gonna get the hang of lineartless- But I wanted to set myself a little challenge where I treated CSP like a traditional canvas so no lineart and I had to limit my layers & only used a generic, default flat oil brush for the majority of it (though I could still use blurs ) Got a cute little beach scene from the challenge!
