Okay don’t take this as me whining but after listening to Natural History of Fear and Call Me Master back-to-back, I definitely see what people are saying when they talk about BF focusing more on replicating the feel of a NuWho episode in audio rather than going gangbusters doing its own thing like during the pre-Dark Eyes days. Like idk I guess I was hoping for something more challenging than “the Master goes to therapy and it’s played for comedy.”

#this Master box set is good so far! I just don’t know if much of what I’ve been listening to from contemporary Big Finish compares to what #was some really masterful sci-fi stories #BF produces so much fucking content that it’s numerically impossible for it all to be 10/10 good but 🤔#Doctor who #big finish #part of the issue is on me. I just don’t know if I like Big Finish’s take on the Master in most circumstances #idk what it is! they’re just never terribly well done on audio. Missy’s my fave and her audios don’t do it for me either
