Since the release of the third season I've often thought about the upper moons bdas, mainly about Gyokko's and Hantengu's. And I think especially Hantengu's has been really underestimated. In my opinion, it has a lot of potential and is probably even more terrifying than most of the other's blood demon arts if you try to imagine it in a realistic setting. So I thought I'd share some of my thoughts for those interested.
Urogi's scream ā¹ His power is probably one of the most underrated ones. And interestingly, the one power that most of them share - him, Zohakuten, Urami and Hantengu's main body.
A lot of people underestimate the danger of loud noise. Not only is it crucial for demon slayers to be able to hear their surroundings to identify where an unseen attacker might come from - the ear is also the balance organ. Seeing Tanjiro struggling to hold his balance during his fight with Urogi would have been a nice detail.
Judging from the effect that Urogi's screams had on Tanjiro, I think it's safe to say his screams are above 120 decibel, which is when it actually starts to be painful. Sounds above 150 decibel burst your eardrums while sounds above 185 damage internal organs and can be deadly. I am not sure of the total range of his volume, but Zohakuten demonstrated that he coul rip someone apart with his scream. Mitsuri only survived because of her special muscle densitiy.
Also, sound travels faster through water. Urogi could e.g. pick up his victim and drop them into a body of water before diving under and screaming at them, causing a lot more damage. Of course his feathers would need to be water-repellent. And not even taking into account his power, just utilizing his ability to just pick up a weaker slayer and drop them into a lake for example, would already debilitate them, as it's difficult to get out or they might even drown if they can't swim.
Sekido's lightning ā¹ His power would obviously be extremely powerful if it worked like actual lightning. But in the anime/manga he rather imitates lightning. Aside from the obvious fact that physics laws don't seem to exist in most media and we're dealing with a dark fantasy anime, it's still fun to imagine his power as realistic as possible.
Sekido could make people's heart stop, partially blind them and even cause the blood vessels in their brain to burst. Those few who survive to tell of the demon's power would be marked by unique patterns stretching across the skin where lightning hit, known as Lichtenberg figures. Perhaps blinded and deaf, they wouldn't be able to fight anymore.
Even though most people who get hit by lightning survive without major injuries, it's still a unique power that is perfect for stunning an opponent. I suppose the author made him appear weaker for the plot. In a fanfiction it would have a lot of potential though.
Urami's size ā¹ This is mainly about how terrifying his size actually is. He's twice as tall as Tanjiro, standing at about three metres or nine feet tall. Imagine being in Tanjiro's situation and having Urami's giant hands wrapped around your head. The immense pressure would be insane. Genya really was Tanjiro's savior in that moment.
Additionally, it was interesting to see him not burning up immediately when hit by the sunlight. The scene was definitely stretched and felt longer than it actually was, but he still didn't make an effort to find shade. Comparing this to Akaza, who seemed terrified by the upcoming sun, indicating he is likely not as resistant to the sun despite having a higher rank, this seems like Hantengu developed a bit of a resistance to the sun even if only for a few seconds. Or this might be a unique feature about the clones. Since Urami is not the main body, he might be able to regenerate faster than the sun destroys his cells as long as the main body is safe and therefore survive longer when hit by sunlight.

Random concept art and scrapped stuff of some of my OCs
Toastada concepts, she was meant to look like Namo/Rai but I changed it up cuz it looks like ass (to me)
Top one: near finished one, bottom are all the concepts and stuff
Her BDA was originally supposed to be literally a combination of a lot of things but I changed it to be some kind of stone statue thing, but I changed it again to duct tape because itās funnier lol
More stuff- Storyline, plot and lore
Alterverse- Before I actually made my Alterverse series, the Chaos Triangle had different personalities
Dust was supposed to be the memes guy of the group, Techno was supposed to be the violent one, and Unique was depressed
However, I changed it to Dust being the insane (and a bit too hungry) one, Techno being the only good guy and Unique not giving a sheet at all. Also, wondering why Unique has like, well, almost zero lines in that series? Well she was meant to be a background character lol (Dust and Techno are the main characters)
Dustās and Technoās personalities were also changed cuz I secretly wanted it to be like a reflection of what Geno and Paci thought of each other when they first met (Geno thought Paci was a goody-two-shoes and Paci thought that Geno was cannibalistic-)
Gear wasnāt in the the series cuz idk where to put her lol (she came to me in a dream)
Also the original ep 5 storyboard that I wanted to show but never did, Dust was supposed to ACTUALLY play a game with the kids (and she was actually intended to appear naked half of the time, she was also originally supposed to just eat Tamin ping and while sheās at it Corrupt ping would ask her about her past
Quest for Deitypings 2 (Q4D2)- Ep2: Total Domination (aka Random Random Bullshit), was supposed to be the second last episode, after that it was a scrapped episode named āThe Royal Killingsā where Namo shoots and kills all the Royal Teeniepings and the entire story ends, but it was changed and that episode was changed and moved to Q4D3:Chaos and is now known as ep3: The Legendary Deityping
Quest for Deitypings 3: Chaos- The final episode was supposed to be about Namoping, Deterping and Heartsping going to kill god (now changed and reworked into Radiant Liftic) cuz they kidnapped Bladrix, it inspired my Christmas Calamity: Last Wish series (where Namo is the one who got kidnapped instead (help I canāt find the pics of the scrapped story-)) General fanon C!T lore- In the original lore, Namoping was originally supposed to be a normal Teenieping that was born with no powers, so she got jealous of the other Teeniepings and their twinkle puffs and developed a power to copy otherās powers, and teamed up with Giggleping, however, this was changed because I wanted to connect all my fanon lore together (at that time only my PvZ, Pokemon, MLB, X-venture and Corruption Shards stories were connected) and I only thought the C!T was supposed to be a side story but it became a bigger deal lol, so I quietly changed the entire lore. Thatās why Namoping now looks more like a Monster in disguise than to an actual Teenieping
Oh yeah, Namopingās original god form wasnāt supposed to have legs, and it had a cloud around it (help I couldnāt find the original picture, but hereās a lock screen version of how itās supposed to look like-)
Galta and Galtaping were also originally supposed to be a single character, where Galta is the one piloting Galtapingās deformed dead body, but it was changed and they are now just alternate universe versions of Dust Auās Shard and Rooky (from Alterverse) and Galta was much bigger before I changed it
Namoping was originally supposed to wear her blue hat from my Pokemon au but it was so hard to draw on comics I just scrapped it, hereās an example of what it was supposed to look like:
Kinvespingās original look, initial backstory of her that she was attacked by Dracojaws but managed to escape, thus getting the Altered symbol, but her and the symbol had to be removed from the story and reworked again cuz I was reported for incest- (donāt cancel me, I didnāt know what it was at that time)
One more, there was an entire scrapped series known as OVERLORD where the god of destruction descends upon the C!T Universe and Teeniepings had come together to fight itā¦with giant mechas! And Namoās inside lol and her series design was actually an inspiration for Techno (I basically just copied someoneās au-)

Mod, what's your least favorite DR2 chapter (if you have one)?
I donāt know if you meant to send this to The New Future blog, but Iāll still answer it.
I think my least favorite chapter of DR2 is Chapter 3, to the surprise of no one. Even then, I like all the Chapters of the second game, all have good qualities to them. Like here you get Fuyuhikoās awesome development, Ibukiās song, and the iconic place known as āTitty Typhoonā and, āhot takeā I guess, I actually like the Despair Disease. Itās a pretty fun motive, I think it couldāve been done better if the motive was spread out slowly and infected others instead of just 3 in one go.
And, even ignoring the despair disease, the murder plot here I can feel can happen even without it, you can say that Mikan snapped and killed Hiyoko because she was bullied a lot by her. And I do like how Hajime was panicking and had to get others to come with for the BDA so Mikan could change the crime scene more.
Although I will be honest, Chapter 2 kinda comes close because the motive there is pretty closed off, targeted and personal to a select few and not relatable to the rest of the cast as typical motives in the series are. The fake-out at the possibility of choosing wrong there at the end kinda weakens it too considering it didnāt even matter in the end.
But yeah, Iād have to choose 3, like many others.

tbh Matt is one of my fav characters, and for me was so so bad written in this saga, I specially think it is a bda idea for him to travel alone as he can relapse
Exactly, in my opinion his character has the best idea beside Grace, but it's developed terribly.
I think that in this book Matt was even worse bc heās trapped in the role of third side of a love triangle, which in my opinion would have been much better if he was in love with James, since heās canonically bi, he has a much deeper relationship with him than with Cordelia and it would have been a nice parallel with TDA, but CC chose the most stupid option.
Matt will surely relapse, travel is not therapy and while it's true that Shadowhunters don't have therapy or rehab he should anyway receive help.
And about Matt's alcoholism, here is my hot take since Chain of Iron: his friends are shit friends because no one cares about his alcoholism. With James CC uses the bracelet to cover this plot hole so huge it's a chasm, but why Thomas or Lucie or Anna never addressed it? They never had a bracelet. Or, even more, why the adults never realized that Matt was an alcoholic? Will pretended to be drunk 24/7 in TID, I donāt buy that he never realized Matt is actually drunk all the time.
Even worse, in Lucie's POV she says that at James's wedding Matt was "uncharacteristically sober", so they know about his alcoholism, they just don't give a shit.
