man, sorry to say this, but...this script sucked bad. i dont think avery brooks is capable of phoning it in but we probability saw him get pretty close here. that final monologue, which should have ben about dax and was instead about the prophets, was poorly written

and kira and odo's argument - he is not so stupid he would do this without expecting her to be mad

and the scene between dukat and damar...where was the tension?? crazy dukat great but he's been better

even the thing with quark and bashir moping around in the holodeck because of dax was bad on paper

like, all of these things were saved (well, some of them were saved) by admirable performances from a charming and talented cast, but whew! like, julian looked so sad this became funny. kira and odo kissing to make up was so charming i forgave the premise

but dax's death was a bad death and her final arc being about a FUCKING baby was really sexist. sisko leaving not sure if he is coming back bc of some prophet thing right when bajor needs him most seems ooc. and his monologue to dax not being ABOUT. DAX. was a crime. poor terry farrell.

overall s6 has been great so far aside from a couple of bumps but man did it end on a sour note. i have heard season 7 is divisive so i guess we will see!!

After watching revenge of the sith at the theatre I am..... Even more disappointed by sw 1-2. I actually quite like the phantom menace but clone wars are just a travesty in anakin characterisations, but padme characterisation especially: she needed to be dumbed down for the plot and romance to work (also a thing in rots) bc no-one in their right mind would get involved with cw anakin.

revenge of the sith works as a stand alone movie IMO because you get the feeling of anakin turning to the dark side because he was failed by the council again and again and again. In clone wars all his bad™ actions were basically because he was born bad apparently. Which sucked. people mostly don't work like that and I don't think anakin was meant to be a psychopath if you look at how he was as a child in clone wars.

Also this rots rewatch made me appreciate Obi-wan in ways I haven't before. He's a perfect example of looking at a mentor who fumbled him and trying to be different, trying to be better for Anakin. He praises him, he believes in him, he doesn't question his abilities, his place in the order or his right to be a jedi. All he wants from Anakin is to be patient, but it's not disrespectful, it's because he wants him to grow and learn and be his best self.

The tragedy of their relationship is that Anakin doesn't have that time, Padme doesn't have that time. And everyone fails to see what he truly needs: Windu wrote him off already when he was a child and never came around, so he keeps him at arms length and is using Anakin for political games. Yoda judges him by his emotions and tells him to let go of his attachments, to not care all the while this emotional aspect of Anakin could've been his greatest virtue if he wasn't constantly told he needs to change who he is, that his emotions are evil and sith like, it doomed him from the start. And Obi-wan, while having the best of intentions, doesn't intervene in those situations at all, his faith in Anakin blinds him. He assumes he will handle everything and doesn't need realistic help. He's so focused to be the opposite of Qui-Gon he fails to truly see Anakin.

The true tragedy of Anakin is the script of the first 2 movies, because they validate actions of the Order. You see Anakin murder the whole village so when Yoda and Windu imply he's not worth the trust and acknowledgement you can't really deny it... they're right. They shouldn't be. Anyway

like the DLCs as they are? absolutely not in my canon. i just think they’re narratively really bad (fuck those sriv ones in particular) and are so unrealistic it does not fit into my canon at all. i will give trouble with clones this much tho: i do kinda like that one but only bc i think it’s fun to play.

4. What's your least favorite episode? Why?

Ummm.... I'm not sure because I find all of them really good. But I think I would say "Plan 99" bc Tech is gone and Omega is taken in that one and it hurts really bad (even though that episode is so good 😭)

10. If you could write an episode for the show, what would it be about?

I would definitely write a cadet episode for the show. I remember actually starting a script for fun but I never got time to work on it during my freshman year of college and haven't gone back to it since. Might pick it up one day and turn it into a fic or a series of tales surrounding the Batch as cadets.

16. What are some headcanons you have about Echo?

Loved spicy food but after the Citadel incident and how his body changed, he has a hard time eating any

Has gathered a collection of tools that can become useful in many situations

20. What are some headcanons you have about Omega?

Gets brain freeze whenever she eats ice cones on Pabu too fast

She shares stories about her brothers and the clones with others after she joined the Rebellion

Spent time with Hera while Hera was pregnant with Jacen (is his Aunt Omega)

Sends her brothers holo-pictures through a secure comm channel while away

37. What was your initial reaction to seeing the Bad Batch for the first time in TCW?

When I first saw the Bad Batch in TCW, I found them to be very intriguing and an enjoyable group to watch since they were new and different clones, and I loved learning more about them. They had always made me laugh and aside from Rex, Cody, Kix, and Jesse, they were the first bunch of clones I got to see when I became a Star Wars fan in 2020 during the pandemic and while Season 7 of TCW was going on (yes I started watching TCW backwards lol but I caught up with all the seasons pretty quickly). They have a big special place in my heart for that reason.

currently tho i’ve been slowly reading an abridged copy of War and Peace

finally i really wanna read Dooku: Jedi Lost by Cavan Scott bc i think the script format is really cool and i really love count dooku lore (also me when i am gonna force my friends to read it with me sometime… anyways)

current obsession:

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY! Seeing Vol 3 has reignited my special interest and has also inspired me to finally play the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game which i adore and have so many thoughts about.

other obsessions currently include (as they mostly always do): star wars, the clone wars, and minecraft (both survival and playing on the mcparks disney world server)
