Mengapa Aku Mengagumi Eross Candra?

Kalo ditanya “Kenapa suka Sheila On 7?”, gue pasti jawab dengan penjelasan sepanjang ini: “Karena lagu-lagunya pas banget dengan perasaan gue. Ada beberapa diksi brilian yang diciptakan Mas Eross, yang melekat banget di gue sampai-sampai menginspirasi gue untuk bikin puisi romantis. Terus, liriknya tuh seperti menyampaikan isi hati laki-laki ke perempuan. Lalu juga karena attitude para personilnya sih yang bikin jatuh hati, terutama Mas Eross-nya.”

Nah, panjang kan? Btw, attitude yang bikin jatuh hati itu maksudnya gimana?

Bhaique, sini gue jelaskan lewat cerita.

Sekitar tahun 2011, gue dapet info kalo Sheila On 7 bakal manggung di pensi sekolah tetangga. Gue ajak guru les akuntansi gue untuk dateng ke pensi itu--biar gue ada temen nonton Sheila. Wkwk

Jadilah di hari H, gue sama Kakak Guru dateng ke GBK (seinget gue di situ ya venue-nya. Lupa bok, udah 11 tahun lalu. Pas mau memasuki area panggung, gue melewati ruangan yang pintunya ditempeli kertas bertuliskan SHEILA ON 7. Dari kaca pintu gue lihat para personil SO7 lagi pada ngumpul, doa bareng kali ya sebelum tampil. Gue bilang ke Kakak Guru, “Kak, habis Sheila seleai tampil, kita coba masuk ke situ yuk. Kali aja bisa ngobrol langsung sama personil SO7 kan....” Kakak guru mengiyakan.

Yang namanya band ternama ya, pasti tampilnya di puncak acara. Lumayan pegel nih kaki karena berdiri dan berdesakan sama banyak orang. Belom naik panggung Sheila-nya, kaki gue udah gemeter. Wkwk lebay.

Sekitar jam 10/11 malem, Sheila On 7 dipanggil MC untuk naik ke panggung. Gue excited banget, karena impian gue dari kelas 3 SD akhirnya baru terealisasi saat gue mau naik kelas 3 SMA, alias kelas 12.

SO7 membawakan belasan lagu. Penampilan Mas Eross begitu memukau ketika memperlihatkan aksinya bermain gitar. Satu setengah jam nggak terasa. Begitu mereka turun panggung dan menuju ruangannya lagi, gue dan Kakak Guru cepat-cepat menyusul.

Di dalam sana, Mas Adam dan Mas Brian lagi selonjoran. Mas Eross dan Mas Duta lagi foto bareng fans dan panitia acara. Saat melihat Mas Eross megang Blackberry (dari bentuk HP-nya yang gue liat saat itu, bb sih kyknya), gue samperin aja.

“Mas Eross,” panggil gue.

“Yaa?” jawabnya sambil menengok gue.

“Boleh foto bareng gak?” tanya gue deg-degan.

“Oh. boleh...,” Mas Eross langsung mengangguk santun dan seketika itu pula mengantongi BB-nya. 

Setelah ckrak-ckrik beberapa kali, dan gantian sama Kakak Guru--si empunya kamera, gue pun lanjut meminta tanda tangan Mas Eross dengan modal bagian belakang tiket pensi yang sedikit sobek ujungnya dan spidol marker yang gue pinjam dari panitia.

“Namamu siapa?” tanya Mas Eross.

“Mutia, Mas,” jawab gue. Mas Eross pun menulis sesuatu di sisi belakang tiket pensi. Setelah itu, gue menyimpan tiket itu di tas dan mengajak ngobrol Mas Eross.

“Mas, saya ngefans banget lho sama Mas Eross, sejak saya kelas 3 SD.”

Mendengar itu, Mas Eross membungkukkan badan beberapa detik, dan berkata, “Terima kasih....”

Serius yaaa, saat itu kekaguman gue yang baru 80% jadi 200% ke Mas Eross. Sesopan santun itu ke gue yang bahkan lulus SMA aja belum. Gue belum jadi apa-apa saat itu, tapi kok ya diperlakukan sesopan itu oleh musisi papan atas yang udah banyak karyanya. Sikapnya bener-bener membumi banget.

“Saya sukaaa banget lagu “Anugerah Teirndah yang Pernah Kumiliki”. Itu romantis banget, Mas. Sama “Bait Pertama”. Liriknya tuh dahsyat banget. Kok bisa sih Mas bikin lagu sebagus itu?” ujar gue memuji.

“Oh suka Bait Pertama ya..., yaaah, tapi tadi gak dibawain,” balas Mas Eross memelas.

“Gak papa, Mas...,” jawab gue sambil nyengir. Ya iyalah, masa marah. Siapa gue?

Ya. Cerita di atas adalah alasan terbesar gue teramat sangat mengidolakan Mas Eross. Pria yang tak hanya piawai membuat lagu, tapi juga gemar menyenangkan orang lain. Menurut gue, lagu-lagu ciptaan Mas Eross begitu menunjukkan pribadi aslinya; memuliakan perempuan, siapa pun itu.

OkAy does it annoy anyone else that Gucci only makes IPhone cases? I can't be the only Gucci/Versace/literallyanybigdesigner lover who owns a Samsung S8! Like, come on! You don't need to have a blackberry phone case, but SOME versatility! Okai I'm done XD Btw ur blog is fiyahhhh 💕💕💕

Sitting here listening to music in the early dark of the night. I'm an habitual "night owl." If I "turn in" too early, sleep eludes me. I end up tossing & turning. So, over the years, I've learned that the best thing is to wait for sleep to chase me. Music is a great companion in the dark of the night! Music in general is just such a necessity for me, I need it like the air I breathe. I consider myself a fan of almost every kind of music. Within each genre, I have many favorites. If I had to choose my absolute number one, all-time favorite, hands down, best ever, most listened to, song.....it would be Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic". There is just something about that song that speaks to me in a way that no other song does. I can even tell you the first time that I heard the song - which is something I could never do with any other song. The song was played in a scene from the 1989 movie, "Immediate Family" starring James Woods & Glenn Close. (Which btw, is a great movie!!) The very next day I began searching for the name of the song and the artist, which in 1989 was a bit more difficult than just using Google or YouTube to solve the mystery - LOL! I've since become a huge Van Morrison fan and his music always makes me nostalgic for "the good ol days", days when it seemed like a person's lifetime stretched further into the future, than it does now. But no use crying over spilt milk, as they say.....

My second favorite piece of music is from the classical genre; Gustav Mahler's Adagietto from Symphony No. 5. A very good friend introduced me to the talent of Mahler and I have been grateful ever since. This piece of music is like fine art, and should be enjoyed with a great wine and chocolates! Which probably sounds strange, coming from a self-professed "car chick" who loves fast cars! My music playlists are arranged by era and genre. I am a daily commuter to work and spend over 45 minutes twice a day in the car, going to and coming from work. Thank goodness for music streaming services and creativable playlists, because I would go crazy during that commute time if I had to rely on what the radio DJ's think is "good music" LOL.

Many of my friends would probably be surprised if they knew I liked "Nickleback" and yes, I know, admitting that might make me a target for some mean comments, but Hey, they make some kick-ass tunes for 5 O'Clock Friday commutes down the open highway!! I love cranking up the volume on Buck Cherry, Skillet, Halestorm, Saving Abel, Seether, Black Stone Cherry and my new found love, Dirty Honey.

Of course there's good ol southern rock, Allman Bros, Lynryd Skynyrd, Creedence, Marshall Tucker, ZZ Top and another all-time favorite, Blackberry Smoke - Charlie Starr is a magician on guitar!! BBS and Charlie are definitely on my "Live N In Concert" bucket-list!!
