Winter Lights

Summary: Bucky x Reader. You and Your boyfriend Bucky take a road trip to the compound so you can finally meet the rest of the team but before you get there Bucky has a few stops to make on the way

Warning: None just Fluff overload probably the fluffiest I've ever written

You packed the clothes. Jamming them tightly into the small duffle bag. A few outfits of his and a few of yours. You didnt mind sharing your bag with him your clothes took up little space. The thin material of you shirts and shorts folded up nice and small while his clothes were a bit more space consuming but you managed to fit it all in one bag.

He packed the food, gronola bars, chips, cookies, sandwiches, small snacks that you can hold and eat if you two needed to munch on the move. He filled the compact bag cooler with water bottles and zipped it closed. Everything was packed and you were ready to go.

You head out to the car loaded it up and drove off. You and your boyfriend Bucky plan on leaving Brooklyn for the weekend heading to upstate New York to spend some time in the compound for a few days. You and Bucky have been dating for 2 years but he was reluctant about you meeting the team. Tony, Sam, Steve and the rest were more then just his friends they were his family and he really wanted you to love them as much as he did. 

Even tho it was only a 7 hour drive Bucky wanted to make it into an exciting road trip. He wanted to play games with you to pass the time while he drove, and he wanted to stop and catch lunch at a little cafe off the road. Bucky was romantic that way, he wanted to make every second with you memerable and special.

After a few hours of snacking and joking around Bucky was starting to get tired of driving. Even though the drive so far was beautiful his eyes started to strain from look at the road and his back ached from sitting down to long. You guys decided to pull over by a gas station and stretch your legs.

You jumped out of the car and pulled your shirt down fixing it till it was were you wanted it to be. Bucky went into the gas station to talk to the women behind the counter asking for the key to the bathroom so the both of you could use it and be on your way again. After finishing up and fixing your hair a little you walked to the car were Bucky was already seated waiting for you. You gave him a kiss on the cheek he held your hand and drove off.

Benounsed to you Bucky has also asked the lady at the gas station about any good restaurants that were near and told him about a cute little diner with amazing food and the most sweetest servers ever just a mile up the road. So soon enough Bucky pulled into the parking lot of the diner and the two of you hopped out of the car.

You were happy to finally have something other then m&ms and doritos in your stomach. The lady that Bucky talked to was right the diner was stunning, on the countertop and windows there were twinkling lights draped around. The booths were a shiny deep red with a wooden base and on the ceiling cardboard snowflakes twisted above you. Low soft christmas songs played in the air and the smell of fresh coffee and apple pie filled the diner.

A young bubbly waitress approached you she had long black hair pulled into a slick ponytail and smelled of cinnamon and sugar she handing out the menus to you and Bucky quickly asking what you wanted to drink. You saw that they served milkshakes and your eyes lit up, it was sort of an unspoken tradition if a restaurant served milkshakes you and Bucky had to order some. You'd order a vanilla one and Bucky would order Chocolate with extra whipped cream and you'd switch about half way through them so you both could have a taste of each flavor.

After about 5 mins your waitress made her way to the table with your milkshakes and took your order. You ordered a burger with fries and Bucky ordered a steak and mashed potatoes. When your food got to your table your mouth watered looking at the steaming plates in front of you. You didnt waste a second as you dug your teeth into your juicy delicious burger.

You though to yourself about how this place is definitely one of your favorite dinning destinations Bucky has brought you to and he took you out alot. He loved seeing you get dressed and and smelling your favorite perfume on you. He loved taking you to places with breathtaking views and filling you up with your favorite foods, he just loved spoiling you it made him so happy seeing your smiling face and how stunning you look when you'd dress up for your dates. He couldn't help but admire how naturally beautiful you were. He was head over heels for you totally and completely in love.

After your lunch Bucky was recharged and ready to get back on the road. The Rest of the trip was peaceful your food sitting in your stomach making a bit sleepy but Bucky jokes and adorable voice definitely made you want to stay up talking with him. You could talk with him all day and not get tired of him. He had a way of making anyone he meets comfortable and everyone loved having him around because he was just such a good listener and story teller. But soon enough you couldn't fight your sleep any longer your eye lids became heavy and your head started to bob. You finally gave in and let sleep win this battle.

The sky was so dark that Bucky had to use his high beams for the rest of the trip. The air became thicker and colder by the hour. The temperature had dropped a significant amount but luckily Bucky remembered to bring a cover in his back pack. He stopped at a red light unzipping the backpack and throwing the cover over your still sleeping body. He kissed your cheek and began driving again. Finally the car stops and you begin to wake. It's been a long day and your body longed for a nice comfy bed to lay on.

You open your eyes and your heart felt like it dropped, you let out a gasp and Bucky smiled uncontrollably at your reaction. You definitely weren't at the compound instead Bucky drove about 45mins further so that he could take to the one place you've always wanted to go Niagra falls. Sure in a regular day it was beautiful but today was their winter festival were the water was lit up with rainbow colored lights and the the Rocks sparkled with the frozen snow.

Bucky got out the car opening the door for you. You stepped out and he held your hand pulling you towards the water so you could get a better look. The time on his watch read 9pm and he made it just in time. A loud whistling noise caught your attention and you looked to the sky. A bang and flash of beautiful sparks filled the sky over and over again. Fireworks were set off displaying the most amazing colors, painting the sky with lights.

You were in ow at the beauty of it all. Bucky hung his arm around you pulling you Into his chest keeping you warm but he moves from you sending a shiver down your spin from the lack of heat on you now.

You turned to him and found him on his knee with a black velvet box and gorgeous sparkling ring. Your breath caught in your throat and tears streamed from your eyes instantly. Bucky asked you to marry him and without a second thought you agreed kneeling down with him and wrapping your arms around in and him.

You cried so much you thought you'd never stop you were just so happy. So happy to be at the place you've always dreamed of, so happy to be wrapped in his arms and so happy to one day marry him. Bucky got the both of you onto your feet and he slipped the ring in your finger. It fit perfectly and shined under all the flashing light.

After the fireworks were over it was time to finally get to the compound so Bucky could happily introduce everyone to his stunning fiancee
