How do you feel about Overture Sol’s design? I mostly like it, but his cargo pants always distract me. I feel rather Victorian in saying that, but I don’t mean his ankles!!

Guilty Gear series has games, manga, novel and cd drama... Is everything of this canon? Do I have read/play all of this to understand GG's story? Or some of them are just Spin-off that I don't need to know?

Understanding the jist of GG's story isn't very hard, actually... you could play one game and understand everything all in one go, like Xrd Revelator/Rev2 which has a ton of story content it explains.

But experiencing the "finer points" of GG's story, the internal dramas and situations as they happen when they do... understanding the depth of character development in detail, means you might have to make an effort to check out other works peripheral to the main story.

The main games in the story are the core content... you can think of these as mostly canon minus a few side routes and alternate endings which are considered Gaiden.

The Drama CDs actually bear a lot of canonical weight, as do the novels, because they're straightforward... but you don't absolutely need to observe them to understand everything, it just helps expand your experience more if you do.

Even if there's stuff that you missed, there's still a lot that hasn't yet been translated yet, so if your main priority is understanding the story's jist... just check out GG World or the GG Codex from Xrd Revelator.
