Atlantius should get more recognition outside of that Ovid's myth like... he's the kid of HERMES and APHRODITE. Can you imagine the personality ?? And he hangs out with Eros... He's a menace !!!

Sooooo, does anyone work with Hermaphroditus or Atlantius? I've been drawn to Hermaphroditus, but as with Pluto when I was drawn to Hades and not Pluto, it might be Atlantius instead. I'm currently working with Pluto, Loki and Beelzebub, and Beelzebub told me that another deity was going to reach out within the next year when I first met them. I've just used tape to bind for the first time so this is a big turning point for me in terms of my gender identity, but I'm also just having a lot of general changes in my life and it's times like this when a deity seems to pop up. Can someone please help me? I can't find anything about either Hermaphroditus or Atlantius online aside from that one myth that I think anyone who knows about Hermaphroditus knows. Please help meeeeeeeee

I'm saying Ganymede as well, since, well. That IS indeed what his myth is all about, which I think should trump any other consideration.
The "~most beautiful~ boy/man" gets thrown around quite a lot, in fact, and is often "just" (not so much "just" about it, but you get what I mean) a descriptor to enhance HOW beautiful they are (I'll include two lists under a cut by Hyginus below, so you can see what I mean). But with Ganymede that's what it's all about, and no one else is going to fight Zeus over him, now are they?
(That said, in a variant where Eos gets Ganymede first, if I don't remember entirely wrong Zeus takes him from her...)
§ 270  THOSE WHO WERE MOST HANDSOME: Iasion, son of Ilithius, whom Ceres is said to have loved [credible, since vouched for by old histories]. Cinyras, son of Paphos, king of the Assyrians. Anchises, son of Assaracus, whom Venus loved. Alexander Paris, son of Priam and Hecuba, whom Helen followed. Nireus, son of Charops. Cephalus, son of Pandion, whom Aurora loved. Tithonus, husband of Aurora. Parthenopaeus, son of Meleager and Atalanta. Achilles, son of Peleus and Thetis. Patroclus, son of Menoetius. Idomeneus, who loved Helen. Theseus, son of Aegeus and Aethra, whom Ariadne loved. Event Date: -1000 LA
§ 271  YOUTHS WHO WERE MOST HANDSOME: Adonis, son of Cinyras and Smyrna, whom Venus loved. Endymion, son of Aetolus, whom Luna loved. Ganymede, son of Erichthonius, whom Jove loved. Hyacinthus, son of Oibalus, whom Apollo loved. Narcissus, son of the river Cephisus, who loved himself. Atlantius, son of Mercury and Venus, who is called Hermaphroditus. Hylas, son of Theodamas, whom Hercules loved. Chrysippus, son of Pelops, whom Theseus stole from the games.
Okay Greek Mythology Nerds, I have a question. So i noticed in a lot of myths they commonly said “most beautiful man” right? So who is the actual most beautiful man? Excluding Apollo?
-Ganymede
-Hyacinthus
-Nerites
-Adonis

Making my own term similar to aphroflux but away from all the discourse stuff.
Atlantifluid - an intersex exclusive identity for where you can be fluid between transmasculine, transfeminine, transneutral, and/or transandrogynous.
Does not have to be all 4! Antlanti taken from Atlantius, Roman equivalent of Aphroditus/Hermaphroditus.
[Flag description: flag with 7 horizontal stripes with the colors from top to bottom being: purple, lilac, light steel blue, very light grey, pastel pink, pink, and a brighter pink. There is a light blue hollow circle outline in the middle of the flag. End of flag description.]

Notes on Hermaphroditus in Greek myth
Their first recorded occurrence of Hermaphroditus is in the Characters of Theophrastus the Lesbian of Eresos. When Aristotle fled Athens, Theophrastus took over as at the Lyceum. Theophrastus presided over the Peripatetic school for thirty-six years, during which time the school flourished greatly. He is often considered the "father of botany" for his works on plants. After his death, the Athenians honoured him with a public funeral. His successor as head of the school was Strato of Lampsacus. The interests of Theophrastus were wide ranging, extending from biology and physics to ethics and metaphysics. His given name was Tyrtamus (Τύρταμος), but he later became known by the nickname "Theophrastus," given to him, it is said, by Aristotle to indicate the grace of his conversation (from Ancient Greek Θεός "god" and φράζειν "to phrase", i.e. divine expression).
According to a tradition in Ovid (Met. iv. 285, &c.), Hermaphroditus was a son of Hermes and Aphrodite, and consequently a great-grandson of Atlas, whence he is called Atlantiades or Atlantius. (Ov. Met. iv. 368; Hygin. Fab. 271.)
He was brought up by nymphs, according to Ovid, in the caves of Mt. Ida in Phrygia, modern day Turkey.
In his fifteenth year he went to Caria; in the neighbourhood of Halicarnassus he laid down by the well Salmacis. (Ovid) In the pool of Salmacis lived the naiad Salmacis, who unlike other naiads, was not seen in the retinue of Artemis, since she preferred to gather flowers rather than go hunting.
She came on strong, and he refused her. True to form in Greek myth, she hid, waited until he thought he was alone, and tackled him while he was swimming. She wrapped herself around him, until they were face to face, and then she prayed.
“Grant this, you gods, that no day comes to part me from him, or him from me.”
Her prayer reached the gods. ...the entwined bodies of the two were joined together, and one form covered both.
After his transformation, he prayed to his parents, asking them that anyone who bathed in the pool had the same fate as him, and his wish was granted.

Given Atlantius' association with Dionysus&co, I really believe he has a wild and chaotic personality 😂 Aphrodite really likes having energetic kids huh. Thank the gods she only had one kid with Hermes
Atlantius if he was raised on Olympus :
Tumblr media
It's also funny cause I imagine him to look younger than Dionysos and yet he's his uncle 😭

Hermes and Aphrodite were foul naming their child their ship name.
Petition to call Atlantius by this name or Atlantiades instead of the other name 1. out of respect for intersex folks and 2. because it's a way prettier name that's not a mouthful

The Erotes but 1. They all have different parents (not that complicated to do)
2. They all have different wings (maybe from different species of birds...)
3. Atlantius has wings on his back and/or wings on his head (I mean come on)
