All my Pressure ocs / scrapped designs!
Number 1: Dune D.

He was my first oc, though I don't draw him as much anymore :(((
Number 2: Dylan (First design)

This was my second oc, and which I never really liked sadly, and his design was scrapped + the palette I used as reference.
Number 3: Dylan Dallimore (Getting closer to the final design...)

Scrapped the shirt because I decided to make this original character plenty of angst! Though in canon, he'd wear this shirt XD + Sketch
Number 4: Dylan Dallimore (Pre-final design)
This is his pre-final design (Before I decided to make his design more fun than anatomy based, I really love chubby cheeks!), and I decided to use more diverse brushes that I found on Pinterest!

Number 5: Dylan Dallimore (Final Design)

So, let's get it with the *Lore*...*rubs hands*
Anyways, let's start with appearance!
Species: Fish. DNA mixed with Betta fish, Ribbon eel (Since Dylan has both Female and Male DNA, and ribbon eels change colour according to what gender they become as they're older, I mixed both blue and yellow by using a brush, thus getting his skin tone), Viper fish, Blobfish, Atlantic pygmy octopus, Sea bunny, female Blue Whale (Ex-human/ lab experiment) (Might change once I get everything figured out!)
Some lil' quirks of his:
• This big ol' water balloon has soft bones and squishy skin (Blob fish DNA), thus making it harder to actually damage him by hits, and in some cases, bullets!
• Because of his Female (Female whales are smaller, and if he had Male whale DNA, he'd be **MASSIVE**) whale DNA, Dylan has gained quite a few pounds because of it (Teddy bear incarnate RAHHH)
• Dylan is both colourblind (Because of his octopus and whale DNA) and partially mute (Those damn experiments ruined his vocal cords), and only let's out random noises as expression of what he wants
• Was a HUUUGE emo kid when he was younger, and still kinda is, but now leans more on "Scene" (He would have loved Odetari or 6arelyhuman lol)
• Was (and still is) great friends with Sebastian since childhood, mostly because they both had similar interests, etc.!
I will write his backstory once I have done his ref sheet!

Burn Gorman as Alan Turing and his Atlantic pygmy octopus, Brona.
Alan Turing was an English mathematician and logician. One of his major achievements was developing the concept of a ‘universal computing machine’, or a Turing machine, which could solve complex problems. This Turing machine would later be developed into a digital computer. Turing also was the first individual to discuss the idea of artificial intelligence. He created a test known as the Turing Test in order to evaluate whether or not a machine is capable of thought. During World War Two, he worked as a codebreaker for the English government and is estimated to have shortened the war by two years. These achievements were not fully recognized during his lifetime due to his 1952 arrest for being a homosexual. He was sentenced to chemical castration treatment, which may have been one of the causes of his possible suicide at the age of forty-one.
Atlantic pygmy octopi daemons represent intelligence and introversion.

Octopus Species That Can Be Kept as Pets
New Post has been published on https://www.petculiars.com/octopus-species-that-can-be-kept-as-pets/
Octopus Species That Can Be Kept as Pets
Octopuses are considered exotic pets. These animals are kept by only a few niche pet lovers, mainly because they are not as easy to keep as fish, for example. Some species of octopus can’t even be tamed at all. You will find below a list of octopus species that will be great pets to own.
First off, here’s an interesting thing about octopuses: THey have a brain that will be considerably bigger proportionally than that of most large animals. This alone is enough for this particular animal to be considerably smarter than many others, but it turns out that it also has neurons in its eight arms.
As you might expect, not a lot of people will think of an octopus when they are looking for a loving pet. This isn’t a surprise considering that many octopuses are very large in size, some are very poisonous, while most of them are very unpredictable and sometimes even aggressive. But experienced owners know that not all octopus species are the same and that some are actually pretty small in size and can be great pets if you know how to properly attend to their needs. As long as you place them in a decently sized aquarium or tank and feed them properly, taking care of them won’t be such a complicated task.
You might also like my articles on whether octopuses have bones and on great names for octopuses and squids.
You will notice that most octopuses will spend most of the day in their dens because they are nocturnal creatures. Most of them will also be able to change their shape and color at will. They won’t like other creatures in their tanks because they are solitary animals. They can be kept as pets pretty safely and easily if they have the needed living conditions. Keep in mind that this isn’t the case with all octopus species, so don’t just bring home one you found while snorkeling. There is only a handful you can actually own as pets. Below you will find out exactly what types of octopuses should you look for.
The Common Octopus The common octopus is also known as Octopus vulgaris. This species lives in tropical waters. This still is one of the most studied species of octopus. It will need a tank of around 50 gallons in capacity, if not more. It will usually eat any fish you place in its tank. It is an extensive muncher and will hold onto anything you throw in the tank, so don’t try to get your hand into the water to pet it. It is also very smart and might find ways of escaping the tank so be very careful about its movements.
East Pacific Red Octopus This species is also known as the Octopus rubescens, or, more commonly, the ruby octopus. You will find this mostly in shallow waters. Their color is usually either brown or red. This is one of the most intelligent species. This was actually the first invertebrate that scientists have managed to demonstrate it has individual personalities. Its size is also small. You can keep it it a smaller aquarium with a water temperature of anywhere between 60 and 65°F.
Atlantic Pygmy Octopus This creature is also known as the Octopus joubini. It can be kept in a very small tank, due to its small dimensions. Its size will also translate into a smaller price of acquisition. It will be really fun to watch in an aquarium due to the way in which it will change colors. Although it is a very playful and intelligent creature, it will also need its privacy and alone time. There are just some of the reasons why this particular creature is considered a great pet.
California two-spot Octopus This octopus is also known as the Octopus bimaculoides or more commonly the Bimac. This will be one of the most popular octopus species to own as a pet. An aquarium with a 50-gallon capacity should be enough for this species. It needs a water temperature of 59°F. One of the most visible features of this type of octopus is its eyespots on both sides of the head. It will be a great pet especially because it is a very friendly creature.
Algae Octopus This species of octopus is also known as the Abdopus aculeatus. These creatures are usually small in size and pretty active during the daytime. They won’t need a tank larger than 50 gallons and the water should be around 78°F for them to strive.
<Caribbean Reef Octopus The scientific name of this particular breed is Octopus briareus. The specimens of this breed will have a large mantel and long arms. This pet will also change its color to blend in with its surroundings. It will be moderately active during the day and considerably more active during the night and will prefer to live in warm waters. You will need a tank of around 50 to 75 gallons to keep this species of octopus in it. You should also set a temperature for the water at around 78°F. It is as friendly as an octopus can be.
Caribbean Dwarf Octopus This breed is also known as the Octopus mercatoris. This is a small octopus known as a dwarf specimen that will usually be found in the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea region. You will need an aquarium of about 30 gallons to accommodate this particular pet. When in the wild, it will spend most of its day in its cave. This means that it will be a good idea to build a den or an artificial cave inside the aquarium where it is kept. If you don’t want to just buy an artificial cave, you can get a glass jar and fill it with coconut shells or rocks with cervices for this purpose. The lifespan of this creature is anywhere between 8 and 10 months. Keep this octopus in water with a temperature of around 75°F to keep it healthy.
You should know that these creatures don’t have a long lifespan. They usually won’t live more than 10 months. Some species can even live to one or two years max. Even so, this is a very fascinating pet to own and you won’t get enough of watching it move in the tank. It will help you relax with its weird shape, its way of changing colors, and its intelligence.
Keep in mind that an octopus is still an exotic pet. This means that you should first make sure it is legal to own one in your state before getting it. Keeping an animal as a pet will also mean that you will force it out of its natural habitat, so it will be a lot sadder than if you were to leave it alone.

🎁 — A SURPRISE GIFT!!! ANYTHING!!!
“So have you started thinking of a costume?”
“A costume?”
“Yeah. For Halloween.”
“Oh! Right. It is June, so I should start thinking of ideas…”
It was late into a summer day, the sun still present in the darkening sky as a bonfire burned in a pit built by those who enjoyed it. In front of the fire were two best friends, Ula and Atlas, as they each held a stick that was held over the roaring fire.
Not too far behind them was Jelly, sitting on a beach chair as her son was draped over her shoulder, sound asleep after practically insisting on watching over his sister. At the same time, Jelly read a book while still keeping an eye on the two kids.
“I thought of something, maybe you can join if you don’t mind.” Ula mentioned as she pulled her stick out of the fire, looking over the marshmallow she had been burning before quickly yet carefully making a s’more for herself. Soon enough, Atlas followed suit with his own. “You remember the game Little Nightmares?”
“Yeah! Cousin Cosmos let me play it after you introduced it to me. Also the second one. That ending was sad…”
“I like to ignore that ending and think of a much nicer one.” Ula whispered to Atlas who nodded in agreement. “But, Six and Mono. I was thinking of dressing up as Six!”
“Whoa!”
“And I was thinking you could dress up as Mono!”
“Yes!” Atlas gasped in pure delight. “I would love to do that! I just have one condition.”
“Yeah?”
“Can I have my antlers stick out of the paper bag?”
“I don’t see why not. Ula shrugged as she smiled, reaching to the area beside her where she grabbed the plastic bag containing marshmallows.
“Ula, not too many.”
“Yes mom!” Ula called out to Jelly who had interrupted her own reading just for that. “You want another one Atlas?”
“I’m good, thanks.”
“Suit yourself.” Ula picked out another marshmallow that was stabbed with her stick, now being held over the fire once more. “Hey Atlas,”
“Yes?”
“I know we haven’t decided on what we’re gonna do tomorrow, but do you maybe wanna go to the aquarium?”
“We could.”
“My mom added a new section.”
“Did she?” Atlas’ eyes lit up a bit as his smile widened.
“Oh yeah. She added a whole area for just cephalopods.” Ula grinned as she reached to the side where she had put back the bag of marshmallows, now grabbing a box as carefully as she could. “Like...we’ve already caught so many octopi!”
“That sounds exciting! I’d love to see them!” Atlas also grinned. “Gosh, I hope none of them escape!”
“Us too.” Ula giggled before finally placing the box on her lap, Atlas noticing it immediately.
“What’s that?” he pointed at what he was realizing was a gift box with the way it was wrapped and tied.
“A gift.”
“For who?”
“You.”
“Me?”
“Yes!” Ula gave a laugh before handing it over to Atlas. “Just be careful! Don’t shake it at all.”
“O-Okay.” Atlas accepted the box before placing it on his own lap, realizing that it was rather cold. “This isn’t a prank, right?”
“Atlas!”
“I’m just asking!”
“Would you just open it?”
“Okay, okay.” Atlas tugged at the string that was tied around the box, taking notice of it being a leather cord rather than ribbon or string. “What’s this?”
“Look at it.”
“Is this...a tooth?” Atlas blinked at the new item he found tied to the cord.
“Yeah! I remembered that you like whale sharks and wanted to give you a gift of course, since we haven’t seen each other in a while. Obviously I couldn’t give you a whole whale shark, but I can always try some time in the future. Anyways. When I went diving with my mom, we found some whale shark teeth!”
“Whoa!”
“I have more if you want them, but this one you can use as a necklace!” Ula grabbed the leather cord to properly show him it’s other use.
“This is so cool, I’ll treasure it forever.” Atlas admired the tooth, but he soon turned his attention to the box he hadn’t entirely opened yet. “Is this the rest of the teeth?”
“Why don’t you see and find out?”
Atlas cautiously ripped the packaging on the box, soon finding a rather small cage meant for aquatic critters.
“Remember how I said my mom has more octopi in her aquarium?” Ula’s grin widened as she and Atlas looked through the glass. “She said I could give you one!”
“What!?” Atlas gasped as his eyes met the eyes of an octopus.
“It’s an Atlantic Pygmy Octopus. Small, but not the smallest. I know the cage isn’t very appropriate, but this was just to show you before we give you the bigger tank.” Ula explained as her eyes followed the miniature octopus that placed a tendril on the glass where Atlas’ face was. “I mean, I hope your parents let you keep it. We chose a small octopus that wouldn’t require too much. And it’s really smart, and playful, and changes colors!”
Atlas continued to examine the little creature, amazed at how one of these little guys was being gifted to him right at this moment. He was filled with such excitement, hoping that his parents would indeed let him keep the little octopus.
“Ula, this is so great!” he spoke, turning to Ula who’s cheeks were glowing with pure glee. “Thank you so much.”
“I’m so glad.” Ula threw her arms over Atlas, giving him a hug from the side that he somewhat leaned into. “I love you, Atlas.”
At the sound of this, Atlas’ eyes widened as his smile fell into an awkward expression, eyes now glancing down at Ula who continued to embrace him.
“I….uh, love you too!” Atlas stammered out, hoping to have the same enthusiasm as Ula so that she wouldn’t think he didn’t feel the same. “...as a friend, because we’re best friends.”
“Well duh, what else were you thinking, silly?”
_____________
“What else were you thinking, silly?” Atlas spoke to himself, almost in a silly voice as he sat at his desk in the study room inside his shared home.
He had been looking at the side where there was a large tank, in it a small octopus that had somehow survived this long.
“Who are you talking to?” a voice interrupted him from his thoughts, making him look to the front where the door had opened to reveal his wife.
“No one.” Atlas grinned as she walked towards him, Atlas pushing his chair back before Ula slid onto his lap and took a seat.
“What are you up to?”
“Just...reading I guess.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Ula and Atlas stared at each other for a moment, perhaps a few. Perhaps many moments. It didn’t matter at this point really, especially as the two leaned in to share a sweet kiss before pressing their foreheads together.
“Ula,”
“Yes?”
“I love you.”
“Way to ruin the moment weirdo.”
“Ruin!?” Atlas exclaimed with fake offense.
“Go say that to Schrader instead or something.”
“Maybe I will.” Atlas teased before feeling Ula’s palm on his cheek, the latter leaning in to give him another kiss as they laughed to themselves. “Hey.”
“What?”
“You wanna eat some s’mores?”

Amazing Ocean Animals Only Scuba Divers Can See
We scuba divers are a lucky bunch and we realize it every time we drop down onto a coral reef or step into the ocean, river or lake. Every single time we dive, we find hidden treasures and awesome surprises. If you don’t dive, here are 10 amazing ocean creatures you can see only after you get certified.
1. WHALE SHARK Divers spend their entire lives hoping to encounter a whale shark. They can book reliable snorkel-only encounters in places like Isla Contoy, Mexico, from June to September, where the sharks congregate in large numbers to feed on plentiful plankton, their favorite meal. But it’s an especially remarkable experience when it’s unexpected, and that can happen anywhere in the world.
2. VARIABLE NEON SLUG This colorful fella is a sea slug or nudibranch. This particular species can grow to 4 inches, which is daily large for a nudibranch (some are shorter than your pinky nail). They’re prized by underwater photographers because of their often extraordinary colors and striking forms. There are more than 2,000 valid species of nudibranchs in the world.
3. PSYCHEDELIC FROGFISH Frogfish or anglerfish are small, short and stocky, and sometimes covered in all manner of appendages to help them camouflage themselves. They often can look like lumps of sponge. But the wacky-looking psychedelic frogfish is found only in the waters around Ambon, Indonesia. It’s also one of the so-called walking fish, which it does by using its pectoral fins on the seafloor when it’s really moving, it can look a bit like a beach ball being pushed on the sand by wind.
4. PYGMY SEAHORSE Measuring less than 1 inch long, it lives exclusively on the fan coral it resembles so closely. This camouflage is so effective that this tiny creature was discovered accidentally in 1969 by a scientist who had collected samples of the gorgonian they were living on. We know very little about their population numbers, but we divers take great care when we encounter these shy beauties.
5. MANTA RAY Acrobatic and majestic, mantas are amazing to encounter, and are often found at feeding and cleaning stations. They are filter feeders and eat large quantities of plankton, which they swallow with their open mouths as they swim. Like some of their shark cousins, they are hunted for their gill rakers and are considered “Vulnerable with an elevated risk of extinction” by the International Union of Conservation.
6. REDSPOTTED BLENNY Many of these fish are just plain adorable, and some have fleshy filaments on their heads, which can make them look bit comical. There are more than 800 species of blennies in the ocean, and it takes a close, careful eye to find them. They like to hide in home burrows or crevices and are generally reclusive. Some are even found in bottles.
7. LEAFY SEADRAGON These popular members of the seahorse and pipefish family get their name for their resemblance to mythical dragons. They’re affectionately known as leafies. Divers head to Edithburgh and Rapid Jetty to find and photograph them.
8. CARIBBEAN REEF SHARK If we divers could convey one thing to nondivers it’s this sharks have way more to fear from us humans than we humans have to fear from them. Consider this more people are killed each year by falling vending machines than sharks. Champagne corks kill roughly two dozen people every year, far more than people killed by sharks (usually swimmers and surfers, not divers).
9. BANDED SEA KRAIT OK, we get it it’s a snake, and we know a lot of people are afraid of snakes and prefer that they never, ever encounter one, either on land or in the ocean. But these guys are truly fascinating they spend most of their time in the sea hunting, but come ashore to reproduce.
10. FLUORESCENT OCTOPUS For some people, the many-armed octopuses are the stuff of nightmares, but scuba divers high-five underwater when they spot them. They can often be found during night dives, when they’re usually more active. Underwater photographers use specialized gear and techniques that they use in fluorescent photography, as in the case with this octopus.
