“Blink Motherfucker” an essay of Papyrus’ battle.

Papyrus’ battle is fucking weird an unnatural and here’s why.

Ok so, think about the battle sprites. 

Nabstablook’s eyes shake so, constatly moving. 

Toriel stays VERY still but her expression changes enough to make up for that.

Undyne? bouncing. hair blowing in the wind. 

Mad Dummy? bouncing. 

Mettaton? Dancing his motherfucking heart out. 

Asgore? bounceing. 

Asriel? flying around at the speed of sound. 

Sans? bouncing, swaying side to side. 

Almost all the other monsters bounce and sway as well. 

What’s weird about Papyrus’ battle is he doesn’t move at all.

His cape could be flowing in the wind. But no. Completely still. He could be moving at ALL but nope. But you know what’s REALLY WEIRD?? During the battle…Papyrus’ mouth doesn’t even move. watch a playthrough again….i’m right. 

During Papyrus’ date he moves, his mouth moves, his expression changes, he’s very active. 

But in his battle? Nothing. A statue. It’s like there’s a cardboard cut out of Papyrus.  Papyrus, the most active charecter in undertale not moving a mother fucking inch.

So I have this place in my room I’ve affectionately dubbed “The Dead Things Corner”. As the name suggests, it’s got all my things both actually dead, or symbolically dead (like extinct creatures). I realized: you know who fits this theme? SANS. so here is my updated dead things corner but now with my sans prints I got literally 6 years ago at atlantale and have just been hoarding.

The corner definitely needs more work (I really want some taxidermy or more skulls) but here it is in all its current glory.

Oh boy, I'm gonna need to think on this... 1) My hat (same one as in the picture I use to answer asks, I also have it in our inner world) 2) Purple stripey scarf (forget where we got this, but we still have it) 3) Meow Wolf bracelets (Lito brought them back for us from Meow Wolf Las Vegas - I hope we get to go someday) 4) Glow In The Dark Green Soul Pin (a one-of-a-kind item from the Atlantale convention - the seller only made one because the others didn't turn out like they'd hoped) 5) Our messenger bag I guess?? It has a lot of pockets and a bunch of badges on it. Thanks for asking!

AH YOU WERE AT ATLANTALE? Darn, I wish I'd known about your blog back then so I could've realized it if I met you. Oh well. Maybe one day there will be another gathering like it!

*Back when I went to Atlantale I wasn’t nearly as popular of a blog! In fact, it was shortly after Atlantale that people really started showing interest in the Lamia bittybones. I think that was probably for the best since I have a lot of social anxiety. In fact, I spent a lot of Atlantale standing out of the way while my husband ran around and took pictures for me!

*If anyone wants to see some of the Atlantale pictures, you can search “vex does atlantale” on my blog. 

*Despite all of the anxiety, I would love to attend another gathering of Undertale fans. The energy there was so positive.

*Also a special shoutout to my husband. I don’t go a lot of places, so when I told him that I wanted to go to Atlantale, he immediately agreed. We needed money to fund the trip (and to buy merch) though. My husband made enough back then for us to get by, but not much more than that, so on his days off he drove Uber to earn the money for the trip. He literally got a second job to fund Atlantale.

I wish we could do another get together like that. One where I'm not sick and can fully enjoy it.

Here is what I've been spending the last century on. This is the backside to the badge for the Undertale Fan Event me and Spoopy-Gaster are running, Atlantale! The front side is more plain but I think the attendees will enjoy it. I can not show you the front side just yet. This art will be available as a 11 x 17" print at my table there. The actual printed badge and art print will NOT have the watermark all over it. It is to deter art thieves from printing it onto things.

1. This is actually one of the first pictures we took! I loved this Monster Kid cosplay with the poncho. Such a great idea. Cosplayer: Not sure on this one. If you know, please let me know so I can tag them!

2. I spotted this Echotale Frisk as soon as we walked through the door! I love G!Sans as much as the next person, but seeing the very specific design of Frisk from that AU was just amazing! The cuffs, the shirt, the red eye contatcs, just wow. Cosplayer: @leenazenyo
