Day one, less than 2 hours into my Atamoxatine

Not the worst side effect, but still not fun when I'm trying to work at 8am.

ok so i'm on Atamoxatine rn and for me specifically it's basically nerfed my executive dysfunction, which isn't nonexistent but definitely at an all-time-low. if i forget to take it for a day or so i get minor tics, and when i started it it pretty much killed my appetite, but once my body got used to it i could eat again. it's also helped my sensory issues to a certain degree, which is good. i've had less severe mood swings and it's a lot easier to focus and get things done.

basically this medication is a fucking godsend for me even though it has its drawbacks.

my ~spicy genetics~ make it so that antidepressants like prozac are a huge fucking nono, so now that i'm (finally) on a med that works, i'm significantly less fucked!!! (also i've had less suicidal thoughts)

tl;dr PLEASE dont give up on medicating if the first ones you try don't work, you might find one that is monumentally helpful!!!!!

I made a doctor's appointment a few weeks ago. Made the call and did all that all by myself. Only had to reschedule once bc work scheduled me and I couldn't trade off.

Today I got a Rx for Straterra (atamoxatine) and nuva ring, but the pharmacy didn't have nuva ring in stock so I'll probably call the doctor and have them find a pharmacy that does, if they can.

Everything I've seen about Straterra says it takes a hot ass minute to take affect (like, 6 weeks at least) and I only have 30 days of it so like. We'll see.

But this shit is way more expensive than I was expecting, and it's just the generic (from Walmart pharmacy!). Before I updated my insurance they quoted me a little over $100 for a month of adhd pills. Once my insurance was updated it was $35. Fucking insane, right? I'd rather just live with it than pay over $100 a month to MAYBE treat it.

Really hope it doesn't tank my libido like that one bc pill I had did. Same goes for the nuva ring. Not remembering that sex exists and is a thing that people like to do might be the best form of birth control, but it's not the greatest thing for my marriage XD

Unexpected side effect of adhd medication Atamoxatine: lack of appetite. I was hungry at noon, ate 4 scrambled eggs and 2 pieces of toast. Donated plasma. 5 hours after eggs and toast, had a single slice of Casey's pizza - not bc I was hungry but bc I had a headache and knew food would help after plassing (yes that's the verb that's used). 5 hours after that single slice of pizza, I might have a bowl of cereal before bed, but if I didn't eat I'd probably be fine.

Hey, maybe I'll lose weight if I don't ever eat XD
