Hi, gang!
I'm still around! Still working at [Blue Home Improvement Store]!
My leg tendonitis(es) cleared up and now I have wicked tennis elbow. I'm getting acupuncture for that since that worked so well for my TMJ several years ago. I'm also waiting on an injection treatment from the sports med doc.
I can't even knit or crochet right now because it aggravates things. I'm craft-ually frustrated about that.
I started an online museum studies certificate program last week. It's okay so far, but the single weekly Zoom class clashes with Crits and Knits which is quite a bummer. We're going to try to "write me off" by prerecording an ep or two instead of doing it live. This museum program goes until June.
Other than all that, life is just kind of at a stall. I don't have any hyperfixations at the moment. No shows or movies I'm passionate about since OFMD got canceled. So I just really don't think about opening Tumblr most of the time. :/
Anyway, just wanted to catch you up a bit. Hope you are well. Take care. <3

Oh yeah I never updated y'all about my jaw lol
TL;DR: I've now been diagnosed with TMJ, and what I experienced was my first flare-up.
Sunday morning, two weeks ago:
Imagine the sensation of squeezing a stress ball: the harder you squeeze, the harder it pushes back, right? Now put that sensation in your jaw, but only one side, and only when you attempt to close your jaw all the way on that one side.
That's what I was dealing with. When it was really acting up, I could not close my jaw at all on the left side. Over the next few days, when I woke up I'd find my jaw was clenched shut, and for an hour or so I would be able to close it until the tenseness came back.
I did go to a dentist on that Thursday. She took a look, and felt my jaw, and said it was likely TMJ. Apparently I've been clenching my jaw in my sleep due to stress. She gave me a referral to a TMJ expert, and said that the best treatment for the time being was heat, ibuprofen, soft foods, and resting my jaw. She also said I shouldn't open my jaw too wide anymore, and that I should try to get a night guard.
So, I went home and did all the things, and after about 7 days I was able to close my jaw again, though there was some lingering soreness, and a few days after that I was pain-free entirely.
My jaw now cracks so loud when I chew wrong on the left side lol. It had always done that, but it wasn't so loud, nor was it as often as it is now. All of the weird crunching, slipping, and clicking that side of my jaw had done for years now suddenly all makes sense! I am relieved I'm no longer in pain, and I'm relieved I can close my jaw again and chew a bit more normally again, though to be honest I'm mostly chewing on the right side still because if I try to switch sides in the wrong way my jaw cracks.
TMJ tends to flare up during times of stress, and I am extraordinarily stressed right now, as I'm writing my Masters thesis and presenting in... less than a month *faints*.

CloverCoin Artpack 2024 March + Updates
[PATREON POST + ART PACK] Hey everyone... I see March is rounding the corner to being over and I realized I never actually make an official patreon post yet. A lot has been happening on our end / IRL. We recently found our we might need to move this summer... But thanks to a lot of back and forth between us and the new landlord we got a lease extension for 1 year to prepare our savings and safely move out to another place in town or around this town we are currently living in. After a lot of discussion between my husband and I, we're really struggling to find rental single family homes that fit our disability needs AND budget. Rent bubble in our area is about 70% more than our current rent which... is mind blowing. But we are determined! With further discussion we think we agree, we'd like to buy a house to make sure our needs are met and that we can take care of our senior dogs without having our lives uprooted without notice. So our belts are going to be really tight over the next year while we try to scrimp and save every penny to go towards our goal to purchase a house next year. That is scary but also so exciting! Wish us luck, we're going to need every lick of it to pull this off. ~~~ Other worse news... The reason why I've been struggling these past few weeks. My family has been reaching out to me and it's official. My mother has a terminal cancer diagnosis. I do not live near her, so I would like to budget a trip out to see her at some point this summer. We don't have any real time lines yet until we see how to reacts to chemo treatment. She's just started that this month. So that's been a weird tangle of emotions and talking with my siblings about what we expect out of all this. How we each can help in what ways we can. One of my older sisters is taking control of talking with the doctors and updating us since my mother is extremely avoidant about talking about her illnesses. At this time I won't be taking any time off from working and doing adopts/commissions. We need the money more than ever, even just to go fly or drive up to see her. But I will update on patreon/discord when I'm taking a week or so off to visit her. ~~~ More middling news? Our two senior dogs, Ollie and Junior, have been having little health scares this year. Feels like 2024 just started and so much has happened! Ollie has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and is on medication now to help treat it. Diet and life style changes as well to help him stay fit. Junior may have had a small seizure or stroke, for 2 days he was not able to stand or walk which really scared us. Both have been to the vet multiple times this year and are being watched VERY closely. I just hope nothing happens to them before we find them a new house to live in. (knocks on wood) ~~~ I myself am having some medical issues but... Just with everything going on I just haven't had time to assign myself with a new clinic and new gp. My new health insurance won't let me see the old one anymore and it's EXTREMELY disruptive to my whole life. So there's a chance my body might get a flat tire in the future, but I'll try to manage it accordingly. To end it all on a good note, I did finally finish my very last tooth filling / replacement and after a year and a half of constant dentist visits, my mouth is all fixed! Hooray!!!! Now we just have to tackle my jaw and TMJ problems haha. ~~~ I think... that's the big items of what's going on. Why I've been really absent online and for updates. Life just kinda had a weird downpour on us, but we're sorting it out. We signed a new lease. Prov is working very hard at his new job. The future is really scary for me right now and I'm really struggling. Please be patient with me while we go through these big life changes at this time. I'll be opening up new commission slots soon to start a monthly income to help with house savings. If anyone has pending commissions with me or trades, please never hesitate to DM me/poke me for updates. I've been a lot more disorganized more than usual lately and I am happy to give any updates or refunds as needed should anything come up that I can't handle. Sorry bout the long read everyone, but thank you so much for skimming through and keeping up with what's going on in my life. I've been desperately missing art more and more every day I spend away from it, so I look forward to sharing even more art with you all! Thank yo everyone for all your support! AJD . ART

My tmj has been awful for 3 years but particularly the last 1.5 I've had like no relief from symptoms and the only thing I personally can do at home that HELPS is take muscle relaxers but my doctor is weird about prescribing them so I always have a limited supply and can't even just relax and take them I have to worry about running out constantly
And my state lets my insurance company write into the policy they refuse to cover anything related so I have to pay for all other treatments by myself
I'm honestly at the point where I want to die bc of this

Addressing Concerns About Mobile Dental Anesthesia
As the demand for convenient dental care grows, many patients are turning to mobile dental services to receive treatment in the comfort of their own homes. Westlake Village dental services have embraced this trend, offering mobile anesthesia options for patients who require sedation during dental procedures. While mobile dental anesthesia provides convenience and comfort, it is important to address common concerns and ensure patients understand how these services work and how they maintain safety and quality. 1. Is Mobile Dental Anesthesia Safe?
One of the most common concerns patients have about mobile dental anesthesia is whether it is as safe as traditional in-office anesthesia. The safety of mobile dental anesthesia is paramount, and licensed dental professionals administer the sedation. Just like in-office sedation, mobile dental anesthesia is overseen by trained professionals who ensure that the patient is monitored throughout the procedure.
Mobile dental anesthesia providers, including Westlake Village dental services, use state-of-the-art equipment and follow strict safety protocols to monitor the patient’s vital signs, such as heart rate, oxygen levels, and blood pressure. This level of oversight ensures that patients are safe during their treatment and that any potential risks are mitigated. 2. Who Is Qualified to Administer Mobile Dental Anesthesia?
Another common question is whether mobile dental anesthesia providers are qualified to administer sedation safely. In many cases, mobile dental anesthesia services are administered by licensed dental anesthesiologists or dental professionals who have specialized training in sedation techniques. These experts are well-versed in managing anesthesia in different patients, including those with special needs, anxiety, or other medical conditions.
Before receiving any form of sedation, patients are typically evaluated to determine the best course of action based on their medical history, age, and the nature of the dental procedure. This ensures that the sedation is appropriate and safe for each individual patient. 3. How Do I Know if Mobile Anesthesia Is Right for Me?
Mobile dental anesthesia can be an excellent option for many patients, but it may not be suitable for everyone. For individuals with certain medical conditions or complicated procedures, it may be recommended to undergo treatment in a traditional dental office where more extensive equipment and resources are available. A consultation with a professional at Westlake Village dental services can help determine if mobile anesthesia is right for you based on your specific needs and dental treatment plan. 4. Will the Procedure Be the Same as In-Office Care?
Many patients worry that receiving care at home will compromise the quality of their dental procedure. However, mobile dental anesthesia providers bring the same level of expertise and equipment used in a traditional office setting. The dental team will ensure the procedure is performed effectively and comfortably, using high-quality materials and techniques. Conclusion
Mobile dental anesthesia provides a convenient, safe, and comfortable alternative to traditional in-office treatments. By addressing concerns about safety, qualifications, and procedure quality, Westlake Village dental services ensure that patients feel informed and confident in their decision to opt for mobile anesthesia. With proper monitoring, expert care, and personalized attention, mobile dental anesthesia can offer a seamless and effective solution for patients seeking dental treatment in the comfort of their own homes.

Orthognathic Surgery In Mumbai
Orthognathic surgery, commonly known as jaw correction surgery, is a procedure designed to address facial irregularities and improve jaw alignment, bite, and overall facial aesthetics. This surgery corrects issues such as difficulty in chewing, speech problems, sleep apnea, and facial asymmetry caused by improper jaw positioning.
Why Consider Orthognathic Surgery?
Orthognathic surgery can bring about significant improvements in facial appearance, boost self-confidence, and enhance jaw function. It is often recommended for individuals with:
Jaw misalignment that affects chewing, biting, or speaking
Jaw or facial asymmetry, such as underbite, overbite, or crossbite
Sleep apnea or breathing issues caused by jaw positioning
Chronic jaw pain or TMJ disorders
By realigning the jaws, this surgery not only improves oral functionality but also offers a balanced and harmonious facial structure.
The Procedure Explained
Orthognathic surgery in Mumbai involves careful planning and execution, typically carried out by a team of specialists, including an oral surgeon and an orthodontist. The process involves:
Initial Consultation: A detailed examination, including X-rays, 3D imaging, and dental impressions, to assess the jaw structure.
Pre-Surgical Orthodontics: Braces are often used to align teeth before surgery, ensuring the best results.
Surgical Process: The surgeon makes incisions inside the mouth to access the jawbones, repositioning them as needed. The bones are then stabilized with plates, screws, or wires.
Post-Surgical Care: Recovery involves a few weeks of healing, and patients may need to follow a soft diet and attend follow-up visits to monitor progress.
Benefits of Orthognathic Surgery
Improved Bite and Chewing: Realigning the jaws results in a functional bite, making eating and speaking easier.
Enhanced Facial Appearance: It significantly improves facial symmetry, providing a more balanced look.
Alleviation of Pain: Chronic jaw pain, TMJ disorders, and headaches can be resolved with jaw realignment.
Better Breathing: Correcting jaw structure can relieve sleep apnea and breathing issues.
Why Choose Mumbai for Orthognathic Surgery?
Mumbai is home to some of the finest dental and surgical facilities, making it an ideal destination for orthognathic surgery. The city offers access to skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons, advanced technology, and personalized care.

7 Effective Home Remedies For Sore Throat And Ear Pain Relief
Earache and sore throat frequently coexist, particularly in the winter. Naturally occurring therapies are preferred by many, even when over-the-counter drugs might offer comfort. We've gathered seven tried-and-true Indian home remedies in this blog article that could help you feel better. If they are ineffective, seek emergency medical attention from an ENT specialist in Patiala since the infection may be serious or the cause may be something else that only a qualified ENT specialist in Patiala can identify and address.
Synopsis
Understanding the Connection Between Sore Throat and Ear Pain
Common Causes of Infection
7 Most Effective Home Remedies for Sore Throat and Ear Pain
Other Important Considerations
Understanding the Connection Between Sore Throat and Ear Pain
It's important to recognise that there may be a connection between sore throat and earache before looking into treatments. An illness in one location can frequently transfer to another. Therefore, concurrent treatment of both is essential for efficient alleviation.
Common Causes of Infection
Viral Infection: Cold and flu.
Bacterial Infection: Tonsils or sinus infection.
Acid Reflux: Stomach acid can irritate the throat and cause referred pain to the ears.
Allergies: Allergies can lead to inflammation and congestion in the sinuses and throat, affecting the ears.
TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder): Issues with the jaw joint can cause referred pain to the ear.
Tooth Infection: A dental abscess can lead to pain in the jaw and ear.
For an accurate diagnosis and course of therapy, it's critical to speak with our skilled ENT expert in Patiala if you're dealing with a chronic earache or sore throat, particularly if it's accompanied by additional symptoms like fever, trouble swallowing, or hearing loss. In such situations, depending on over-the-counter treatments may exacerbate the situation; instead, monitor the patient or your symptoms and make prompt, well-informed judgements.
7 Most Effective Home Remedies for Sore Throat and Ear Pain
Here are 7 home remedies for sore throat and ear pain that you can try to get relief:
Warm Saltwater Gargle: A classic and effective Indian remedy, saltwater gargling helps reduce inflammation and kills bacteria in the throat. Dissolve half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water. Gargle for about 30 seconds, then spit it out. Repeat several times a day. This will offer instant relief for some time.
Turmeric Milk (Golden Milk): Turmeric, a staple in Indian cuisine, has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Boil a glass of milk with a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a pinch of black pepper. Sweeten with honey if desired. Drink it warm before bed. Turmeric will offer relief from pain as well.
Ginger and Honey Tea: Ginger has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, while honey soothes the throat. Steep a piece of ginger in hot water, strain, and add honey. Sip this tea throughout the day. Consuming this tea twice a day can be very useful and effective in treating sore throat.
Garlic: Garlic is known for its antimicrobial properties. Consume raw garlic cloves or include them in your meals. However, it might cause heartburn in some people, hence begin with a very small piece of it and do not increase the quantity as it may cause inconvenience.
Steam Inhalation: Steam helps loosen mucus and soothe a sore throat. Inhale steam from a bowl of hot water for a few minutes. You can add a few drops of eucalyptus oil for added relief. This is the safest method and can be done 3 to 4 times a day. The results are instant and effective.
Tulsi (Holy Basil): This Indian herb has medicinal properties and is commonly used for respiratory issues. Boil tulsi leaves in water, strain, and drink the tea. You can also chew fresh tulsi leaves.
Warm Compress: For ear pain, apply a warm compress to the affected ear. This can help reduce inflammation.
Other Important Considerations:
Hydration to Soothe the Sore Throat: Drink plenty of fluids to keep your throat moist.
Resting is Best: Get enough sleep to boost your immune system.
Avoid the Known Irritants: Stay away from smoke, allergens, and cold air.
Consult our ENT Expert in Patiala Today: If sore throat and ear pain symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.
While these home remedies can provide relief, it's essential to remember that they are not a substitute for professional medical care. If you experience severe or persistent symptoms, consult our ENT expert in Pune for diagnosis and personalised treatment. We also invite you to bookmark our blog page which features the latest blogs shared by our doctors. Our blog content is aimed at busting the myths and sharing medically accurate information that will help you make timely decisions about your and your loved ones' health.

Understanding TM Joint Pain and the Importance of Expert Treatment in Dubai
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) is a condition affecting the joint connecting the jawbone to the skull. The TM joint, located on either side of the head, plays a critical role in jaw movement, allowing you to chew, speak, and yawn. However, when issues arise, it can lead to discomfort, pain, and complications with daily activities. TM joint pain, often accompanied by symptoms such as jaw clicking or jaw locking, can significantly impact a person’s quality of life. Fortunately, effective treatment is available from specialized TMJ experts, particularly in Dubai, where advanced care is provided.
What Causes TM Joint Pain?
TM joint pain can be triggered by several factors, including:
Jaw Misalignment: This is one of the leading causes, where the upper and lower teeth don’t fit together properly, leading to stress on the jaw joint.
Injury or Trauma: Accidents, injuries, or direct trauma to the jaw or head can damage the TM joint, leading to discomfort.
Bruxism (Teeth Grinding): Clenching or grinding the teeth, often unconsciously, can exert excessive pressure on the TM joint.
Arthritis: Conditions such as osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis can affect the TM joint, causing pain and stiffness.
Stress: Emotional stress often leads to muscle tension in the face and jaw, which can contribute to TM joint disorders.
Common Symptoms of TM Joint Disorders
TMJ disorders manifest through a range of symptoms. Some of the most common include:
Jaw Clicking: A clicking or popping sound while opening or closing the mouth.
Jaw Lock: Difficulty moving the jaw, with episodes where the jaw feels stuck in a certain position.
Facial Pain: General discomfort or pain in the facial region, particularly around the jaw area.
Headaches or Earaches: Frequent headaches or earaches may also indicate TMJ issues.
Jaw Pain: Persistent or intermittent jaw pain, especially when chewing, speaking, or yawning.
When to Consider Jaw Pain Surgery
In many cases, conservative treatments such as physical therapy, medication, and lifestyle adjustments can alleviate TM joint pain. However, in severe cases where non-surgical methods fail to provide relief, jaw pain surgery may be necessary. Surgery is typically considered for individuals experiencing chronic pain, difficulty opening or closing the mouth, or significant jaw misalignment. Consulting a TMJ specialist in Dubai will help determine if surgery is the appropriate option.
Finding the Right TMJ Treatment in Dubai
Seeking professional help is crucial when experiencing TM joint pain. Dubai is home to world-class healthcare facilities, including specialized TMJ treatment centers. A qualified TMJ specialist in Dubai can diagnose the root cause of your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan. Treatment options may include:
Medication: Anti-inflammatory drugs or muscle relaxants to reduce pain and inflammation.
Physical Therapy: Exercises designed to strengthen the jaw muscles and improve joint movement.
Dental Splints or Mouthguards: Devices that prevent teeth grinding and reduce pressure on the TM joint.
Surgery: In extreme cases, surgery might be recommended to correct structural issues within the joint.

Orthodontists are specialists in correcting teeth and jaw alignment issues. Their expertise goes beyond general dental care, offering advanced treatments such as braces, Invisalign, retainers, and other devices to improve the appearance, health, and functionality of teeth. Some of the common reasons for visiting an orthodontist include:
Misaligned Teeth: Crooked teeth can cause difficulties in chewing and speaking, as well as affect your confidence.
Bite Issues: Problems such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites can lead to jaw pain and improper function.
Teeth Spacing: Large gaps or overcrowded teeth can impact both aesthetics and dental health.
Jaw Alignment: TMJ disorders or jaw misalignments can cause discomfort and require specialized treatment.
How to Choose the Right Orthodontist in Indiranagar
When it comes to choosing the best orthodontist in Indiranagar for your dental care, there are several factors to consider:
1. Expertise and Qualifications
Make sure your orthodontist has the right qualifications and certifications. Orthodontists undergo additional years of specialized training beyond dental school. Check if they are registered with accredited bodies such as the Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS) or other relevant associations.
2. Experience
Experience matters, especially when it comes to complex dental issues. Look for an orthodontist who has years of experience in treating a wide range of cases, from mild misalignment to major bite correction.
3. Treatment Options
Orthodontic care is not one-size-fits-all. The best orthodontists will offer a variety of treatment options including traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, Invisalign, and more. Discuss your needs and find out which solution works best for your lifestyle and dental concerns.
4. Technology and Equipment
Modern orthodontic treatments often require advanced equipment like digital scanners, 3D imaging, and self-ligating braces. Make sure your orthodontist uses up-to-date technology to ensure precise and efficient treatment.
5. Patient Reviews and Recommendations
Patient testimonials and reviews can give you valuable insights into an orthodontist’s skills and bedside manner. Look for reviews on Google, healthcare websites, or social media to gauge the experiences of others who have received treatment.
6. Consultation and Communication
A good orthodontist will take the time to explain your treatment options, what to expect during the process, and the costs involved. Ensure they have a clear communication style and provide consultations to help you understand your treatment plan in detail.
Conclusion
Choosing the best orthodontist in Indiranagar, Bangalore, can be a life-changing decision, ensuring you achieve the best possible results for your smile and oral health. Understanding Jaw Popping: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment Options
Jaw popping, also known as jaw clicking, is a condition that affects many people around the world. It’s often accompanied by discomfort, pain, or difficulty in moving the jaw. But what exactly causes this strange sound and feeling, and should you be worried about it? In this article, we’ll dive deep into the reasons behind jaw popping, how it relates to jaw pain, and what you can do to manage or even prevent it.
What is Jaw Popping?
Jaw popping refers to the clicking or popping sound that comes from your jaw joint, known as the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). This joint connects your jaw to your skull, allowing you to chew, speak, and move your mouth. When there’s an issue with the TMJ, it can lead to a clicking noise when you open or close your mouth. This is what many people refer to as jaw popping.
Common Causes of Jaw Popping
There are several reasons why you might experience jaw popping. Some of the most common causes include: - Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ Disorder): TMJ disorder is one of the primary reasons behind jaw clicking. This condition affects the TMJ and can cause pain, stiffness, and, of course, that characteristic popping sound. - Arthritis: Just like other joints in the body, the TMJ can be affected by arthritis, leading to inflammation and jaw pain. - Injury or Trauma: If you’ve recently experienced a blow to your jaw or head, this could lead to issues with the TMJ and result in jaw popping. - Teeth Grinding (Bruxism): Grinding your teeth can place excessive stress on the jaw, leading to wear and tear of the TMJ and the potential for jaw clicking. - Misaligned Bite: A misaligned bite can cause improper movement of the jaw, which may result in jaw popping.
Symptoms Associated with Jaw Popping
While the sound of jaw popping can be alarming, it's often accompanied by other symptoms, including: - Jaw pain or tenderness around the TMJ area - Difficulty chewing or opening the mouth - Locking of the jaw joint - Headaches or ear pain
When Should You Be Concerned About Jaw Popping?
Not all cases of jaw popping are cause for concern. If it happens occasionally and isn't accompanied by jaw pain or other symptoms, it's likely nothing to worry about. However, if you're experiencing frequent jaw clicking, especially with pain or difficulty moving your jaw, it's best to consult a healthcare professional or dentist. They can assess whether your jaw popping is due to a more serious condition, such as TMJ disorder, and recommend treatment options.
How to Treat Jaw Popping
Depending on the cause of your jaw popping, there are several treatment options available. Some common approaches include: - Home Care: Applying ice or heat packs to the jaw can help reduce inflammation and alleviate jaw pain. - Physical Therapy: A therapist can guide you through exercises to strengthen the jaw muscles and improve joint function, potentially reducing jaw popping. - Mouthguards: If your jaw clicking is due to teeth grinding, wearing a mouthguard at night can help protect the TMJ from further damage. - Medications: Anti-inflammatory medications may be prescribed to reduce pain and inflammation around the TMJ. - Surgery: In severe cases, surgery may be required to correct issues with the TMJ and alleviate jaw popping symptoms.
Preventing Jaw Popping
Prevention is always better than cure, especially when it comes to jaw popping. Here are some tips to help reduce the risk of jaw clicking: - Avoid excessive chewing of gum or hard foods that can put strain on your TMJ. - Practice good posture to reduce tension in the jaw and neck area. - Manage stress to prevent teeth grinding, which is a common cause of jaw popping. - If you have a misaligned bite, talk to your dentist about orthodontic options to correct it. Jaw popping can be an annoying and uncomfortable experience, but understanding the causes and treatment options can help you manage the condition more effectively. Whether it’s due to TMJ disorder, teeth grinding, or another underlying issue, addressing jaw popping early can prevent further complications. If you’re unsure about the cause of your jaw clicking or are experiencing jaw pain, don't hesitate to consult a healthcare provider. With the right care and preventive measures, you can keep your jaw healthy and pain-free. Read the full article
