Hi, gang!
I'm still around! Still working at [Blue Home Improvement Store]!
My leg tendonitis(es) cleared up and now I have wicked tennis elbow. I'm getting acupuncture for that since that worked so well for my TMJ several years ago. I'm also waiting on an injection treatment from the sports med doc.
I can't even knit or crochet right now because it aggravates things. I'm craft-ually frustrated about that.
I started an online museum studies certificate program last week. It's okay so far, but the single weekly Zoom class clashes with Crits and Knits which is quite a bummer. We're going to try to "write me off" by prerecording an ep or two instead of doing it live. This museum program goes until June.
Other than all that, life is just kind of at a stall. I don't have any hyperfixations at the moment. No shows or movies I'm passionate about since OFMD got canceled. So I just really don't think about opening Tumblr most of the time. :/
Anyway, just wanted to catch you up a bit. Hope you are well. Take care. <3

Oh yeah I never updated y'all about my jaw lol
TL;DR: I've now been diagnosed with TMJ, and what I experienced was my first flare-up.
Sunday morning, two weeks ago:
Imagine the sensation of squeezing a stress ball: the harder you squeeze, the harder it pushes back, right? Now put that sensation in your jaw, but only one side, and only when you attempt to close your jaw all the way on that one side.
That's what I was dealing with. When it was really acting up, I could not close my jaw at all on the left side. Over the next few days, when I woke up I'd find my jaw was clenched shut, and for an hour or so I would be able to close it until the tenseness came back.
I did go to a dentist on that Thursday. She took a look, and felt my jaw, and said it was likely TMJ. Apparently I've been clenching my jaw in my sleep due to stress. She gave me a referral to a TMJ expert, and said that the best treatment for the time being was heat, ibuprofen, soft foods, and resting my jaw. She also said I shouldn't open my jaw too wide anymore, and that I should try to get a night guard.
So, I went home and did all the things, and after about 7 days I was able to close my jaw again, though there was some lingering soreness, and a few days after that I was pain-free entirely.
My jaw now cracks so loud when I chew wrong on the left side lol. It had always done that, but it wasn't so loud, nor was it as often as it is now. All of the weird crunching, slipping, and clicking that side of my jaw had done for years now suddenly all makes sense! I am relieved I'm no longer in pain, and I'm relieved I can close my jaw again and chew a bit more normally again, though to be honest I'm mostly chewing on the right side still because if I try to switch sides in the wrong way my jaw cracks.
TMJ tends to flare up during times of stress, and I am extraordinarily stressed right now, as I'm writing my Masters thesis and presenting in... less than a month *faints*.

CloverCoin Artpack 2024 March + Updates
[PATREON POST + ART PACK] Hey everyone... I see March is rounding the corner to being over and I realized I never actually make an official patreon post yet. A lot has been happening on our end / IRL. We recently found our we might need to move this summer... But thanks to a lot of back and forth between us and the new landlord we got a lease extension for 1 year to prepare our savings and safely move out to another place in town or around this town we are currently living in. After a lot of discussion between my husband and I, we're really struggling to find rental single family homes that fit our disability needs AND budget. Rent bubble in our area is about 70% more than our current rent which... is mind blowing. But we are determined! With further discussion we think we agree, we'd like to buy a house to make sure our needs are met and that we can take care of our senior dogs without having our lives uprooted without notice. So our belts are going to be really tight over the next year while we try to scrimp and save every penny to go towards our goal to purchase a house next year. That is scary but also so exciting! Wish us luck, we're going to need every lick of it to pull this off. ~~~ Other worse news... The reason why I've been struggling these past few weeks. My family has been reaching out to me and it's official. My mother has a terminal cancer diagnosis. I do not live near her, so I would like to budget a trip out to see her at some point this summer. We don't have any real time lines yet until we see how to reacts to chemo treatment. She's just started that this month. So that's been a weird tangle of emotions and talking with my siblings about what we expect out of all this. How we each can help in what ways we can. One of my older sisters is taking control of talking with the doctors and updating us since my mother is extremely avoidant about talking about her illnesses. At this time I won't be taking any time off from working and doing adopts/commissions. We need the money more than ever, even just to go fly or drive up to see her. But I will update on patreon/discord when I'm taking a week or so off to visit her. ~~~ More middling news? Our two senior dogs, Ollie and Junior, have been having little health scares this year. Feels like 2024 just started and so much has happened! Ollie has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and is on medication now to help treat it. Diet and life style changes as well to help him stay fit. Junior may have had a small seizure or stroke, for 2 days he was not able to stand or walk which really scared us. Both have been to the vet multiple times this year and are being watched VERY closely. I just hope nothing happens to them before we find them a new house to live in. (knocks on wood) ~~~ I myself am having some medical issues but... Just with everything going on I just haven't had time to assign myself with a new clinic and new gp. My new health insurance won't let me see the old one anymore and it's EXTREMELY disruptive to my whole life. So there's a chance my body might get a flat tire in the future, but I'll try to manage it accordingly. To end it all on a good note, I did finally finish my very last tooth filling / replacement and after a year and a half of constant dentist visits, my mouth is all fixed! Hooray!!!! Now we just have to tackle my jaw and TMJ problems haha. ~~~ I think... that's the big items of what's going on. Why I've been really absent online and for updates. Life just kinda had a weird downpour on us, but we're sorting it out. We signed a new lease. Prov is working very hard at his new job. The future is really scary for me right now and I'm really struggling. Please be patient with me while we go through these big life changes at this time. I'll be opening up new commission slots soon to start a monthly income to help with house savings. If anyone has pending commissions with me or trades, please never hesitate to DM me/poke me for updates. I've been a lot more disorganized more than usual lately and I am happy to give any updates or refunds as needed should anything come up that I can't handle. Sorry bout the long read everyone, but thank you so much for skimming through and keeping up with what's going on in my life. I've been desperately missing art more and more every day I spend away from it, so I look forward to sharing even more art with you all! Thank yo everyone for all your support! AJD . ART

My tmj has been awful for 3 years but particularly the last 1.5 I've had like no relief from symptoms and the only thing I personally can do at home that HELPS is take muscle relaxers but my doctor is weird about prescribing them so I always have a limited supply and can't even just relax and take them I have to worry about running out constantly
And my state lets my insurance company write into the policy they refuse to cover anything related so I have to pay for all other treatments by myself
I'm honestly at the point where I want to die bc of this

Ear wax Removal: When ear wax causes discomfort and pain medical professionals use Ear Wax removal techniques from the ear because self-ear wax removal is often counter productive. Methods include:
Microsuction: The microsuction instrument provides a precise way to remove earwax through minimal suction pressure.
Irrigation: The ear canal can be cleansed with warm saline solution through irrigation to separate and extract earwax.
Manual Removal: Specialized tools under direct vision can help extraction of earwax through manual removal.
Medications: Medical treatments for different causes use antibiotics against infections along with decongestants when treating problems in the Eustachian tube.
Home Remedies: It is not advisable but people dealing with mild ear pain should consider using for a day either heat packs or self-care medications found at pharmacies to find relief.
Prevention and Maintenance
Avoid Inserting Objects: The ears remain crucial since cotton swabs together with other items might push earwax deeper while causing damage to ear tissue.
Protect Ears from Moisture: Keeping ears dry is vital .It is Important to stop fungal infections or swimmer's ear by taking precautions. Earplugs should be worn before swimming along with complete water removal from the ear canal after water contact.
Manage Allergies: Regulating allergy symptoms decreases the chances of Eustachian tube dysfunction and related ear discomfort.
Regular Check-ups: Visiting an ear doctor periodically will enable both monitoring of ear health conditions and prompt ear treatment of any detected issues.

Dentist in Hadfield: Tips for Maintaining a Healthy Smile
Taking care of your teeth and gums is essential for overall health and well-being. A bright, healthy smile not only boosts confidence but also helps prevent serious dental problems down the track. Whether you're looking for ways to improve your daily oral care routine or need advice on specific issues like TMJ disorders in Hadfield, understanding the best dental practices is key.
Here’s everything you need to know about maintaining a healthy smile and when to visit a dentist in Hadfield for professional care.
Daily Oral Hygiene Tips
A strong oral hygiene routine is the foundation of good dental health. Here’s what you should be doing every day:
Brush your teeth twice a day using fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Spend at least two minutes brushing, ensuring you reach all surfaces.
Floss daily to remove food particles and plaque from between your teeth, reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease.
Limit sugary and acidic foods, as they can erode enamel and lead to decay. Drinking water after consuming these foods helps wash away harmful particles.
Use an antibacterial mouthwash to help reduce plaque and freshen breath.
Preventive Dental Care
Even with excellent home care, regular dental visits are essential for long-term oral health. A dentist in Hadfield can detect early signs of dental issues before they become serious. Preventive care includes:
Routine check-ups to monitor your teeth and gums.
Professional cleanings to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
X-rays and screenings to catch problems like cavities, gum disease, or misalignment early on.
Seeing a dentist at least twice a year helps prevent major dental issues and keeps your smile in top condition.
Common Dental Concerns and How to Address Them
Many people experience dental problems at some point. Here are some common concerns and ways to manage them:
Tooth Sensitivity: Using a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth can help reduce discomfort. Avoid extremely hot or cold foods if sensitivity worsens.
Gum Health: Swollen or bleeding gums could be an early sign of gingivitis. Brushing, flossing, and using an antibacterial mouthwash can help keep gums healthy.
Bad Breath: This can be caused by poor oral hygiene, dry mouth, or underlying dental issues. Regular brushing, flossing, and staying hydrated can help combat bad breath.
TMJ Disorders in Hadfield: What You Need to Know
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders affect the jaw joint and muscles, leading to pain and difficulty with chewing or speaking. Some common signs include:
Jaw pain or tenderness.
Clicking or popping sounds when opening and closing the mouth.
Headaches or ear pain.
Difficulty chewing or a locked jaw.
If you experience persistent discomfort, a dentist in Hadfield can assess your symptoms and recommend treatment options. Managing stress, avoiding excessive gum chewing, and using a mouthguard at night can also help reduce TMJ symptoms.
Lifestyle Habits for a Healthier Smile
Your daily habits play a big role in your oral health. Here are some key things to keep in mind:
Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, as they can stain teeth, cause bad breath, and increase the risk of gum disease.
Manage stress, as it can lead to teeth grinding, which wears down enamel and strains the jaw.
Stay hydrated, as drinking water helps wash away bacteria and food particles, keeping your mouth fresh and clean.
When to Visit a Dentist in Hadfield
It’s easy to ignore minor dental discomfort, but some signs indicate it's time to see a dentist:
Persistent tooth pain or sensitivity.
Bleeding or swollen gums.
Chronic bad breath that doesn’t improve with brushing.
Jaw pain or difficulty chewing.
A cracked, chipped, or loose tooth.
Early treatment can prevent complications and save you from more extensive procedures later on.
Conclusion
Maintaining a healthy smile requires a combination of good daily habits and regular dental visits. From brushing and flossing to managing conditions like TMJ disorders in Hadfield, taking proactive steps can keep your teeth and gums in excellent shape. If you notice any signs of dental issues, visiting a dentist in Hadfield can help you get the right care before problems escalate.
A little effort each day can go a long way in keeping your smile bright and healthy for years to come.

What is Botox?
Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, preventing contractions that cause wrinkles. Botox is commonly used to treat crow’s feet, forehead lines, frown lines, and other facial wrinkles.
Apart from its cosmetic applications, Botox is also used for medical conditions such as chronic migraines, excessive sweating, muscle spasms, and TMJ disorders. The treatment is FDA-approved and widely recognized for its safety and effectiveness.

If you’ve never had Botox before, it’s normal to feel a little anxious. Here’s a step-by-step overview of what to expect:
Consultation – Your Botox provider in Dallas will discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns you might have.
Preparation – The treatment area is cleaned, and a numbing cream may be applied for comfort.
Injection Process – Botox is injected using a fine needle into the targeted muscles. The procedure is quick and typically takes 10-15 minutes.
Post-Treatment Care – Patients are advised to avoid rubbing the treated area, strenuous exercise, and lying down for a few hours after the procedure.
Most patients start seeing results within 3 to 7 days, with full effects visible in about two weeks. Botox results typically last 3 to 6 months, depending on individual factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, and muscle activity.
Benefits of Botox
Botox is a preferred choice for many due to its numerous benefits:
Non-Surgical and Minimally Invasive – No downtime is required, making it a convenient option for busy individuals.
Quick and Painless – The procedure is virtually painless, with only mild discomfort from the injections.
Prevents Wrinkle Formation – Regular Botox treatments can prevent deeper wrinkles from forming over time.
Boosts Confidence – A youthful and refreshed appearance can improve self-esteem and confidence.
Choosing the Right Botox Provider in Dallas
With so many clinics offering Botox in Dallas, it’s essential to choose a qualified provider. Here are some tips to ensure you select the best Botox professional:
Look for Licensed and Experienced Professionals – Ensure your provider is board-certified and has extensive experience in administering Botox.

TMJ Doctor Brookfield: Expert Care for Jaw Pain Relief
Understanding TMJ Disorders
Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders are a common yet often misunderstood condition that affects millions of people worldwide. The TMJ is the hinge-like joint that connects your jaw to your skull, allowing you to perform essential functions like chewing, speaking, and yawning. When this joint experiences dysfunction, it can lead to discomfort, pain, and even long-term dental health issues. If you're experiencing symptoms, seeking a TMJ Doctor Brookfield can provide the specialized care needed for relief and recovery.
Symptoms of TMJ Disorders
TMJ disorders, also known as TMD (Temporomandibular Disorders), manifest in various ways. Some common symptoms include:
Jaw pain or tenderness
Clicking or popping sounds when opening or closing the mouth
Difficulty chewing or discomfort while eating
Locking of the jaw in an open or closed position
Headaches or migraines
Ear pain or ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
Facial pain or swelling
These symptoms can range from mild discomfort to severe pain, significantly affecting daily life. Seeking professional help from a TMJ Doctor Brookfield can help diagnose and manage your condition effectively.
Causes of TMJ Disorders
There isn’t a single cause of TMJ disorders; instead, various factors contribute to its development. Some of the most common causes include:
Bruxism (Teeth Grinding): Excessive grinding or clenching of the teeth can strain the TMJ and surrounding muscles.
Jaw Misalignment: An uneven bite or misaligned jaw can place undue stress on the joint.
Arthritis: Degenerative joint diseases like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis can impact the TMJ.
Trauma or Injury: A direct blow to the jaw or head can damage the TMJ, leading to long-term complications.
Stress: Emotional or physical stress can contribute to muscle tension, which exacerbates TMJ disorders.
Understanding the root cause of your TMJ disorder is essential for effective treatment, making it vital to consult with a TMJ Doctor Brookfield for a personalized approach.
Diagnosis and Evaluation
A professional TMJ doctor will conduct a thorough evaluation to determine the severity and cause of your TMJ disorder. The diagnostic process typically includes:
Medical History Review: Your doctor will assess your history of jaw pain, headaches, and other related symptoms.
Physical Examination: Checking for tenderness, clicking sounds, and jaw movement restrictions.
Imaging Tests: X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans may be used to get a detailed view of the jaw structure.
By identifying the underlying causes of TMJ disorders, a TMJ Doctor Brookfield can recommend the most appropriate treatment plan for relief.
Treatment Options for TMJ Disorders
There are several treatment options available for TMJ disorders, ranging from conservative approaches to advanced medical interventions. The right treatment depends on the severity of the condition and individual patient needs.
1. Lifestyle and Home Remedies
Many patients find relief from TMJ symptoms by implementing simple lifestyle changes, such as:
Avoiding Hard or Chewy Foods: Soft diets help reduce strain on the jaw.
Practicing Jaw Exercises: Stretching and strengthening exercises can improve mobility.
Using Heat or Cold Therapy: Applying heat helps relax the muscles, while cold packs reduce inflammation.
Managing Stress: Techniques like meditation and yoga can help minimize teeth grinding and muscle tension.
2. Non-Surgical Treatments
For persistent TMJ issues, non-surgical interventions may be recommended:
Physical Therapy: Targeted exercises and techniques can improve jaw function.
Oral Appliances: Custom-fitted mouthguards or splints can prevent teeth grinding and align the jaw properly.
Medications: Pain relievers, anti-inflammatory drugs, or muscle relaxants can alleviate discomfort.
Trigger Point Injections: In some cases, injections of anesthetics or steroids can provide relief.
3. Advanced Medical and Surgical Interventions
If conservative treatments fail to provide adequate relief, more advanced options may be considered:
Arthrocentesis: A minimally invasive procedure that flushes out inflammatory substances from the TMJ.
TMJ Arthroscopy: A surgical procedure to diagnose and treat internal joint issues.
Total Joint Replacement: In extreme cases, joint replacement surgery may be necessary.
A TMJ Doctor Brookfield will determine the best course of action based on your specific needs and condition.
Preventing TMJ Disorders
While not all TMJ disorders can be prevented, taking proactive measures can reduce the risk of developing symptoms. Some key preventive strategies include:
Maintaining good posture to reduce strain on the jaw
Avoiding excessive gum chewing or nail-biting
Wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth
Managing stress through relaxation techniques
Seeking early treatment if you notice jaw discomfort or clicking sounds
When to See a TMJ Specialist
If you’re experiencing persistent jaw pain, clicking sounds, or difficulty opening and closing your mouth, it’s crucial to consult a TMJ Doctor Brookfield as soon as possible. Delaying treatment can lead to worsening symptoms and more complex medical issues.
Conclusion
TMJ disorders can be painful and disruptive, but with the right care, relief is possible. Whether you’re experiencing mild discomfort or severe jaw dysfunction, a TMJ Doctor Brookfield can provide the necessary expertise and treatment to help restore normal jaw function. By understanding the causes, symptoms, and treatment options, you can take control of your TMJ health and improve your quality of life.

Reduced Jaw Pain and Discomfort:
Misaligned teeth can cause uneven pressure on your jaw, resulting in headaches, jaw pain, and even TMJ disorders.
Better Functionality:
Well-aligned teeth facilitate more effective biting and chewing of food, leading to enhanced digestion.
Improved Confidence:
A straight and attractive smile improves one’s appearance and boosts self-confidence. You can be more confident socially and professionally.
Why are Invisible Braces So Popular?
Many patients in Gurnee prefer invisible braces for convenience and comfort. Invisible braces differ from traditional metal braces because they offer benefits that appeal to teens and adults.
Discreet Appearance:
The clear aligners are almost imperceptible, allowing you to correct your teeth alignment discreetly without attracting attention to your orthodontic treatment.
Comfortable:
Invisible braces are custom-made from smooth, BPA-free plastic, effectively removing the discomfort typically linked to traditional metal wires and brackets.
Removability:
The most significant advantage of invisible braces is that you can remove them when eating, drinking, brushing, or flossing. This flexibility makes oral hygiene much easier to maintain.
Fewer Appointments:
With invisible braces, you do not need to make adjustments. Instead, you will receive aligners, which you will change at home while your teeth gradually move into place.
Predictable Outcomes:
Advanced digital imaging provides a precise treatment plan and predictable outcomes, so you know what can happen.
Patients with mild to moderate orthodontic alignment need a convenient and effective option available in Gurnee with invisible braces.
Your Treatment Plan: What to Expect
Understanding the treatment process would be the key to great results. Here is the breakdown of what you can expect:
Comprehensive Evaluation
Your orthodontist will start by conducting a detailed examination and digital scans or X-rays to assess the position of your teeth and jaw. This evaluation will determine if invisible braces are right for you or if clear braces are a better option.
Personalized Treatment Plan
A customized plan will map out the movement of your teeth over time.
If using invisible braces, you will receive a series of aligners to wear for about 20-22 hours per day, switching to a new set every 1-2 weeks.
The Treatment Timeline
The majority of patients finish their treatment in 12 to 24 months, contingent upon the degree of misalignment.
Regular follow-up visits will ensure your progress is on track and adjustments are made if needed.
Caring for Your Braces
For invisible braces: Clean your aligners regularly and store them properly when not in use.
Maintain an oral hygiene routine to prevent cavities and gum disease during the treatment.
Post-Treatment Care
After achieving your straight smile, your orthodontist may recommend wearing a retainer to keep your teeth in their new place.
Tips to Maximize Your Treatment Success
To get the best out of your invisible braces treatment, here are some tips:
Commit to Wearing Aligners:
Consistency is key. Wear your invisible braces for twenty to twenty-two hours daily.
Keep Up with Oral Hygiene:
Brush and floss following meals to prevent the accumulation of food particles. Additionally, it is vital to clean clear aligners consistently to prevent discoloration.
Attend Follow-Up Appointments:
Regular check-ins allow your orthodontist to monitor progress and ensure everything is on track.
Avoid Hard and Sticky Foods (For Clear Braces):
If you have clear braces, be careful with foods that may damage your brackets or wires.
Be Patient:
Orthodontic treatment requires a significant investment of time; however, the outcomes are undoubtedly rewarding. Have faith in the process and remain dedicated to your treatment regimen.
