Why everyone thinks they are gonna be teen parents

I am going to need to ask your forgiveness right off the bat because I could totally see them becoming teen parents. I'm not saying they 100% would, but I think there is a very high chance.

First off, neither of them has a stable parental figure to keep them in line. No offense to Misato or Kaji because they are both doing their best, but their best is not that good. They are both hot messes and semi-negligent because they are always sneaking off to get drunk and/or fuck, leaving two motherless teenagers home alone together with nothing but sexual tension for company. Please note that I love Misato and Kaji and I criticize them with the utmost affection.

Secondly, I can actually very much see Asuka cornering Shinji and telling him to knock her up. She wants a baby for multiple reasons: 1. because her baby will love her unconditionally (at first). 2. because she has a competitive streak and needs to prove she can be the best mom ever. 3. because she wants to baby trap Shinji but is too straightforward and legit to do it without his express consent. She's going to baby trap him, and he's going to help her do it. Shinji agrees for multiple reasons: 1. Asuka wants a baby and he wants to make her happy. 2. He is very horny and this means he gets to have a lot of unprotected sex. 3. He wants to be baby trapped by Asuka. Would he probably have chosen to wait a few years if it were up to him? Yes. Is he okay pushing up the timeline? Sure, why not? How could this go wrong? If he had attentive parents he might be able to figure it out, but he doesn't, so he becomes a father at 16.

I feel like what it boils down to is that they both wish they had a family and then they realize they can just make one.

Does this mean they have to become teen parents? No, certainly not. But it does seem like distinct possibility with these two. I am so sorry.
