Criminally Hot

There is a new Criminally Hot post today. 

Alexi growled and stepped into the bedroom, reached around to her back, and jerked her gun from the holster of her sports bra. “Fuck.” She felt Tatiana behind her, smelled her perfume. The animal sensed her anger, and Alexi cursed again as she stripped off her silk blouse. This was not how she’d intended for the night to go. She’d wanted to focus on Tia and show her how important she was to her. “I’m sorry.” “Was it my grandfather?” Tatiana demanded. “He wasn’t there, no,” she said with a frown. That bastard might have been mixed up in this, though. “I need to take a shower, okay? I won’t be long, and we can have dinner here or down in the club if you aren’t too upset to eat with me.” “I just don’t understand why you put me second.”

Forever Love

In honor of Valentine’s Day I’m bringing you excerpts from some of my books. The theme is Forever Love. I’ve said it before but I will say it again. I’m a romantic and I do believe in the concept of soul-mates. I think there is one or two people out there for all of us. This soul-mate is our forever love no matter how man times we reincarnate this is the person or persons we will always find and fall in love with.

That relationship might not always be healthy. It might not always work out that first try, but it is our love. It is up to us to decide if we act on that love or move on to something or someone we feel is better for us or even safe.

Me, I’m a solitary woman. I’ve jaded and touched by betrayal making me gun shy, but I haven’t given up on real love. I guess though my vision of love is something true and unconnected with sex. I’m not saying sex is out, just that my heart and my head has to be touched not my G-spot.

Enough about me. This week I’ve selected five of my books for this meme.

First up is Jasmia and Ace from Assassin’s Kiss. I love Ace and she was once willing to kill Jasmia if she became a problem, but not so much now.

Then, there’s Montana and Dylan. You have to love two alpha women trying to navigate the road of love.

After that it’s to the world of magic and nymphs where love is eternal. Avery and Michaela are two of my favorites from this series but I love the whole series because it’s built on the premise of reincarnation and soul-mates.

Then, it’s back to the world of assassins for Tatiana and Alexi—a mate pair caught up in a fight for love and life.

Finally, it’s look at Caroline and Lucky. I love Lucky and I’m working out a few new books with these two for when I finish the fourth Assassin’s Core romance.

WIP Wednesday

This week I’ve finished second edits for Coming Home to Love and I’m working on edits for Cozy Bend 7 before sending it off for submission. I hit a snag in the process. I’m going to be working on this longer than expected since I have to rewrite sections of the main plot. That means rewriting other minor sections, but I have clear picture of where I’m going so it shouldn’t take more than a few more days to finish that.

Then, I’ll read it next week to make sure it all makes sense before sending it off to the publisher.

Also, I’m working on Assassins Core 5. I’m glad 4 hasn’t been published yet. I haven’t even done edits for it yet. So, I can change the ending to mesh with my new ideas for the next book. I wasn’t sure where the book was going then I was hit by an idea. Now, I’m jumping in with both feet. 

Yeah. I do that alot. I don’t need to flesh anything out. I take an idea and run with it and flesh things out as I write. It’s an organic process as I’ve mentioned before. I do write down small bits so I won’t forget, but its early stages here so I don’t have anything to write down.

I started the book today and it’ll pick up right where book 4 leaves off. As with book 3, the epilogue from the last book will be the prologue with some minor additions.

A reader is actually to thank for this idea. She reviewed The Nefarious Madam and mentioned Grace. That got me thinking about what to do with the next book. I’m not completely sure how I’ll deal with Grace here yet, but she will figure in this book a great deal and Alexi will have to handle a few problems that come calling.

Well, I don’t have an excerpt, but I might next week. Depends how far I am in Assassins Core 5. I have an event this weekend, work. So, I won’t be wallowing in writing.

I won’t be coming into contact with many people thankfully. This part-time job was a bit of a side hustle, and it’s all I have for the time being. Woman’s gotta eat and pay the bills.

WIP Wednesday

This week I’m still working on Assassins Core 4. I’ve already started thinking about five. Part of the storyline created here will make up five or another book.

My plan is to move from Alexi and Tatiana to other women in the series or the Assassins Trilogy. Cattail, Sax, Devin, and maybe even Nikita. I’m thinking of giving Slate her own story too. These stories will be shorter, I hope, but who can know. I already have Devin and Cattail’s stories mapped out in my mind. It’s only a matter of which comes first.

I’m also working on the next Cozy Bend Romance book too. I’m just moving slow as I get a feel for the idea and the picture I want to create. I’m going for sexy obviously, fun, and romantic. Nothing too angsty.

Assassin’s Core 4 is a lot of action, romance. I’ll probably add more once I’ve finished the first draft. Tia is changing. Her change is connected to her emotions and magic. I think it’s necessary considering I’ll connect her to another story line. And I’m trying to decide whether to kill April off. I do know the relationship between the two won’t be the same.

Alexi is dealing with Ortiz and the two are pulled into a vendetta neither knew existed. It gets bad. I’m not done yet, I still have maybe ten thousand words left. When I start editing before sending it off to the publisher, I might end up adding more.

Also, both Cozy Bend books were accepted by Evernight. I have four books slated for release in the summer and fall. The third Assassins Core book and three Cozy Bend stories.
