Hi, Pans here. I created this blog about three years ago, deeply inspired by those over at DramioneAsks and seeing a need for a similar resource for Tomione as I watched our small ship continue to grow. We started small, a few tags here or there, and continued to grow as did our numbers. We’ve had admins come and go, but no one as faithful to this blog as JD. I think we all need to thank them for the tremendous time, effort, and love they’ve displayed here at TomioneFinds even when I was hard to reach and rough to get ahold of. Truly, you are merlin-sent and one of if not the only reason this blog is functioning to this day. You see, I took a break from the fandom. I needed to sort out a few things, and I let this blog fall to the wayside. I would like to begin my entry back in, and with that, a few changes will be made to try and modernize the blog. With full transparency, I would like to get a smut tag list started, update the ask list, and speak to the other mods/admins about what they’d like to see for the blog in the future. In addition, I would like to ask our followers to offer input as to what they’d like to see as well, so if you have any suggestions, please reply to this thread and let it be known. Hu I'm looking for a very specific ff that used to be at the top of AI3 but has now been deleted. Hermione is DADA professor to young tom riddle. He grows up in her office, asking questions, seeking knowledge . She discouraged him from trying out horcruxes and is still wary of him. Dumbledore gives him hints that time travelers are out there. He eventually finds out she is one and has a panic attack in her office.

I’m pretty sure you’re talking about @sea-nymphe’s story. But unfortunately I can’t remember its name. I haven’t read fanfics in a while.

A fandom site that refuses to publicly acknowledge the people who are dealing with or have been bullied, even if only to say "this is terrible and unacceptable, we're sorry you went through this," out of fear of giving the appearance of taking sides, finger pointing or stirring up drama reinforces the power imbalances that allow bullying and abuse to continue, and undermines any claim of fostering a safe, supportive fandom space.

Silence is complicity.

Silence allows bullies and abusers to continue with no accountability. It allows them to thrive without fear of repercussions.

Silence keeps the people experiencing these things isolated. Which. Is. The. Point.

Silence enables bullies and abusers to retain their power and status in fandom spaces.

This is why people leave.

Hey, don't get me wrong. This happens all over the place, in every fandom.

Honestly, though, for a tiny little niche fandom like Tomione y'all need to do better. A lot better.

Some genuinely repulsive, vile shit has taken place place in this fandom in the past. You know what really sucks? The shittiest part?

The people responsible have produced some of the fandom's favorite content.

Like, God fucking forbid people take a stand if it might jeopardize getting that fic or that moodboard.

It's easy to say "I'm just here for the content, I don't need to see this shit. You're killing my boner."

"I just want to write, I don't get involved in drama."

First of all, bullying is not drama and I'm so fucking sick of that dismissive, victim blaming bullshit.

Secondly, you're enjoying the benefits of a fandom space without taking any responsibility for keeping it safe.

Guess what. You can't have it both ways.

I understand a desire to not get involved, but there's no point in wanting a safe fandom community if you're not going to step up in any meaningful way to keep it safe, especially when the fandom you're in is notorious for bullying.

I'm not saying there aren't lovely people in the Tomione fandom, because there are. But between the rigid culture of silence and the toxicity, where people - including mods of blogs like tomionefinds -are apparently willing to just shrug off or justify awful, abusive behavior because that person wrote a fic you like, or, even worse, engaging in it themselves, nobody is safe.

Nobody is safe.

Guess I shouldn't have hoped that anything might change in the time I was away, given that it was one of the mods who openly, proudly admitted sending me fucking hate mail before I deleted my old blog. Yeah, let that sink in.

These are the people running things behind the scenes of your fandom. So ask yourself, is this the fandom you want?

It's not a high bar, folks. Do better.

I have never read any Tomione before, religiously sticking to Dramione, especially the dark ones but from your prompts I have realized the clashing dynamic I search for in Dramione is glaringly present in Tomione.
