Asian Masters Presents The Flavours of Asia Culinary Workshops
The Asian Masters are back in town to celebrate Asia’s Finest Gastronomy with numerous workshops, dining experiences, and exclusive promotions with some of the best restaurants in Singapore. To kick off this gastronomical celebration, "The Flavours of Asia” culinary workshops were held at ToTT Cooking Studio where members of the public picked up culinary tips and tricks from 8 leading Asian maestros including Chef Violet Oon, Chef Kenjiro ‘Hatch’ Hashida, and Chef Leong Chee Yeng. As an added bonus, the workshops were moderated by LianHe ZaoBao’s food correspondent Ms Ng Yimin and renowned food critic and deputy Life editor of The Straits Times Mr Wong Ah Yoke.
Here’s a quick look at the workshops that I attended over the course of two days:
4th March, 4pm session featuring Chef Martin Foo from VLV Singapore:
General Tso’s Chicken.
Poached Ocean Fish.
5th March, 12pm session featuring Chef Kenjiro ‘Hatch’ Hashida from Hashida Sushi Singapore:
Red Bean Rice.
Kinusaya Snow Pea Vichyssoise.
5th March, 2pm session featuring Chef Violet Oon from National Kitchen by Violet Oon:
Shiok Nyonya Udang Salad (Yummy Prawn Salad).
Satay Ayam Goreng.
5th March, 4pm session featuring Chef Leong Chee Yeng from Jade, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore:
Fish Ball in Chicken Soup.
Deep-Fried Prawns in Sweet and Sour Hawthorn Sauce.
Special thanks to Asian Masters and ToTT Cooking Studio for the opportunity to learn culinary tips and tricks from some of my favorite chefs in Singapore.
I am looking forward to the next major culinary event in Singapore: Gourmet Japan 2017!
