EXCLUSIVE: Fawad Khan's Pakistani film The Legend Of Maula Jatt will be released solely in Punjab, India.

Fans rejoiced yesterday when it was revealed that The Legend Of Maula Jatt, the critically acclaimed Pakistani movie, will be released in India on October 2. The film stars the well-known Fawad Khan, and there has been a strong demand to see it in India. As a result, the surprise announcement of the film's Indian release became a hot topic on the internet.

Bollywood Hungama has heard that The Legend Of Maula Jatt will not be released in India. According to our source, "The film will be released only in the state of Punjab in India." However, the source is unsure of the purpose for such a regional release.

Nonetheless, the release will be a discussion point. An industry expert stated, "It is the first Pakistani film to be released in India in almost a decade. Fawad Khan has a large fan base across the country. This film grossed more than Rs. 200 crores at the box office and has yet to be released on any streaming site. Because of these considerations, Indian fans are extremely curious about the film."

The Punjabi-language film also stars Mahira Khan, Humaima Malik, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and others. Bilal Lashari directs, while Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan produce. It will be distributed in India by Zee Studios. The Legend of Maula Jatt is based on a folktale about a local hero who confronts a powerful enemy from a violent tribe.

Bilal Lashari further revealed that his popular film will only be released in Punjab. Yesterday, he shared the India release poster for The Legend Of Maula Jatt on Instagram, writing, "Releasing in India, Punjab on Wednesday, October 2nd! Two years later, and the house is still filled on weekends in Pakistan! Now I can't wait for our Punjabi audience in India to witness the magic of this labor of love!" Interestingly, The Legend of Maula Jatt, which was released in Pakistan and other regions on October 13, 2022, was scheduled to hit theaters in India on December 30 of the same year. At the time, reports indicated that the film will only be released in the Northern belt, specifically Delhi-NCR and Punjab. However, days before its release, the idea was put on hold indefinitely.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is an upcoming Pakistani action drama film directed and written by Bilal Lashari, produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under production banner of Encyclomedia.It stars Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi in lead roles along with Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik.The film is all set to become the first ever in Pakistan to release in China with its world release.

Govt asked to remove controversial lesson from course book

SWABI: Political and civil society activists have threatened that if the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board doesn’t remove a controversial lesson about Pakhtun hero Malik Kalu Khan from the ninth grade English book, then they would take the case to court. Addressing a convention on ‘Kalu Khan, a hero of Pakhtuns’, at Haqqani Library Hall here on Sunday, they maintained that Yousafzai Action Committee (YAC), formed for this purpose by political parties, would move court against the textbook board officials and the book’s writer if the ‘insulting’ lesson was not removed. It was decided that members of the action committee would meet KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar, officials of the textbook board and provincial education minister soon in Peshawar to discuss the matter. The action committee has a member from each political party and literary organisation. On the occasion, Mohammad Jamil Advocate, a columnist and founder of the drive to get the lesson removed from the book, said Kalu Khan fought against Mughal Emperor Akbar so bravely that the latter was forced to build the Attock Fort at the edge of the Indus for his defence. “Though the Mughals were looters the Pakhtuns were portrayed as looters in the said lesson titled ‘Snare’,” he pointed out. Awwal Sher Khan, former forest minister, said the lesson was written and included in the book under a well-thought out conspiracy to distort the character of Kalu Khan and twist the facts about Pakhtun leaders. Ghafoor Khan Jadoon, former provincial food minister, said YAC members should meet the lawmakers and appraised them about the facts. “A resolution for removal of the lesson should be moved by them in the provincial assembly,” he demanded. Saleem Khan Advocate of QWP said Pakhtun terrains were called by British and other invaders as ‘diamond necklace’ because these were full of natural resources. Due to economic reasons various invaders invaded the region but Pakhtun supermen like Malik Kalu Khan, Malik Gaju Khan and Malik Ahmad fought and pushed them back bravely. Najeem Khan of JUI-Nazriati said it was high time for Pakhtuns to unite against all those who were bent upon defaming them and their heroes. District nazim Aamir Rehman said they rejected the book which presented Kalu Khan as a looter. He said the district government would help the YAC in achieving its objective. Tehsil Razaar Nasim Ghulam Haqqani announced that his government would build mausoleum of Kalu Khan. Tehsil Swabi Nazim Wahid Shah said the writer was enemy of the entire Pakhtun nation. Iftikhar Ahmad Khan of PML-N, Mehmoodul Hassan of JI, Rangaiz of PTI, Javid Inqilabi of PPP, Mohammad Ali Dagaiwal of Pakhtunkhwa Ulasi Tehreek, Mohammad Jalil of Abaseen Union of Journalists, Mohammad Sagheer of Swabi bar, Aziz Minerwal of Qam Qalam, and others also spoke on the occasion. Through three resolutions, the participants of the convention demanded to replace on the lesson with tales of Pakhtun heroes, action against the writer and introduction of Pashto as compulsory subject in schools.
