I have so many posts (both my own and others' analysis) about Sukuna, ngl currently he and Geto are my top 2 favorites (Choso and Gojo were there for months too ngl, I still love them and most characters) but it took going through jjk like 12 times and overthinking to redeem them.

I like going through jjk so many times and being able to understand, relate to, etc. different characters, even those that I used to hate or dismiss (there are still a few that I hate more every time tho lmao).

Anyway I have several (3 or 4, at least) theories on how Choso can still come back, so I can't rly hold that against Sukuna.

Also - - they all approached him first. Sukuna never goes out of his way to kill uninvolved people, he doesn't take joy in others' suffering like Haruta and those old curse users we saw in Shibuya.

He exists for leisure like Nanami, like Megumi, and if we look into the little details of clothing, Heian era history, culture, religion etc, along with the way he speaks and interacts with others, psychology and trauma responses, it can actually tell us a lot, though details might remain ambiguous.

I've said everything Sukuna did wrong was either against his own will or a trauma response, and I don't take it back.

There's the way that Sukuna and Gojo are 2 sides of the same coin, that Gojo became the monster by giving up his body and Sukuna became the monster by taking over Megumi's (in a desperate grasp for his own autonomy - which I believe to be his main motivation for anything).

There's also the irl Sukuna lore / shrine, which might not be canon but sounds a lot like Gojo - regarded as a hero by the people, but demonized by the government, anyway.

I'm gonna stop here bc I have a million sukuna defense posts out there already, this is just a handful of thoughts ig.

Usually I forgive gege/sukuna for his crimes bc gege gives us so many beautiful images of true form sukuna and it takes me an hour to read a chapter bc I just. Keep looking at him. And he's one of my favorite characters.
