Selene fanart, first appearance in the story.

As mentioned in this post, I will not credit the artist. And I don't say their name privately because they are not a trustworthy person. This commission was the most expensive one I have ever paid, but honestly, it is also the one that I do not like at all.

In my opinion, the work done was sketchy and superficial. For that reason, this drawing does not even deserve to be included in the pinned post of my blog, where there are fanarts that I adore beyond any doubt.

Chapter 35 on-line

“Jensen found himself only a few steps from the lowered hatch of the aircraft when the gunfire ceased. He raised his head still clad in the black graft, his view slightly distorted by the effect of the experimental augmentation, and there, a little higher thanks to the VTOL's raised floor, he saw Selene.

Probably nobody knows that I had created an Instagram account of Deus Ex War Paint, where I shared some things from time to time.

Well, I will delete it by the weekend.

The last fanart I commissioned, the one with Adam and Selene sharing a cigarette, was continuously censored by Instagram, and it didn't show up in the recent hashtags feed.

I don't know how to draw, and my fanfiction doesn't inspire people to draw something for me totally independently, like gifts.

This means that all the fanart done so far has been commissioned and paid for.

I have literally set aside money to be able to do this, despite not having a steady job.

So yes, it bugs the hell out of me that a commissioned and paid fanart, showing "the first real moment" between Adam and Selene, is hidden like that.

I can't do anything about it, I contacted the staff over and over again, but I never got a response.

So yes, even this mockery adds to my mood of perpetual defeat that I feel when I think of Deus Ex War Paint.

And I'm sorry, but I'm not looking for words of comfort from anyone.

I just show you the facts and why my fanfiction about Adam and Selene is stalled.

Nor can I deny that over and over again I am thinking about deleting this blog and the story from AO3 as well.

So, I gave a month to the new chapter to get some interest. The chapter where Adam and Selene share their first kiss.

As predicted, it didn't get what I think it deserves.

Is this my fault? Nope.

Is this others fault? Nah...

But the way I deal with this lack of interest, yeah, this is my fault.

But you know what?

I don't even care if I'm bitchy and focused only on those who support my work.

I'm not perfect. I'm a perfectionist, I'm superficial, and I'm a proud and snob person.

And I'm petty. I know I'm extremely petty, but I don't care.

I know my fanfiction Deus Ex War Paint deserves more, that's why I'll keep working on it.

I know I'm an excellent writer in my native language. I'll be the same in English as well.

I just thought of something pretty obvious to me.

Deus Ex War Paint is LGBTQ+ friendly.

Selene grew up not only with her parents, but also with her uncle Artair and her mentor Damian.

I don’t think it needs to be said, but, yes, I want to show through my story that I support the adoption of a child by two people of the same sex.

Selene is pansexual, regardless of her personal background. One of the girls she had sex with after moving to Prague with her uncle was a trans girl: in Selene's opinion, that girl was a woman, no matter what.

Damian Fisher, Selene’s mentor, is homosexual. Artair, Selene’s uncle, is heterosexual. In my own interpretation of Adam Jensen’s character, I have “established” that he is also heterosexual, just as I have “established” that Vaclav Koller may be bisexual. The original character of Nathalie Girard is also bisexual.

I’ve never felt it necessary to say this, but taking a clear stand on the topic is important to me.

I don’t mind losing possible readers over this statement of mine.

It’s the right thing to do.

I know they are very different from the descriptions in the fanfiction, but this is the best I could do with The Sims 4. It still gives the idea, and I'm pretty excited to at least "see" them this way, since I can't draw.
